It was a slow walk to the classroom and Marcus lent heavily on the cane that the hospital had issued him with. After lying in a hospital bed for the past month, his body was still relatively weak. He probably didn't really need the cane but he was going for the sympathy vote from the students and hopefully whoever attacked him would feel a little guilty. Pfft yeah right, he was obviously dreaming there.
One good thing though, he had managed to get himself a new wand while he had been in London and flicked it towards the door and it sprung open. He gave the kids waiting in the corridor a weary smile and gestured for them to enter the classroom
"Could I please have the 1st to 3rd years on the left hand side of the room and the 4th to 7th years on the right." He stepped back and waited for the kids to file in. | |

It would all mean how well we can project your magic." Kay said to the professor. Kay was worried about him. He didn't look very well. She had sat next to Rafe. She smiled at him and then took out her parchment and quill to take notes.

When your in a group with friends you feel more confortable. But when your in a group of complete strangers, you would socialize, but you would feel more awkward and outside, so you wont talk as much, so at the same time, the wand is in the hands of a complete stranger, it will work but reluctantly." | |

Listening attentively once Lawson began the lesson, Tibi's smiled faltered. He remembered Lawson not having a wand... not that it might have helped. And he knew exactly how well a borrowed wand could work.
Raising his hand, Tibi answered timidly. "Professor, borrowed wands can work for others. I know because..." someone used mine against me.. "because someone else used my wand just fine." He paused. "I heard, though, that sometimes it can be harder to use a wand that isn't yours if you aren't used to it."

Hearing the question, Jake raised his hand. "I think... a bbborrowed wand does wwwwork... but nuhh-not as good as your owwnn... or as guhh-good as one you tuhh-take from someone rrrightfully. A borrowed wwwand... needs more... you need to wwwork harder to use it."
He lowered his hand and bit his lip, averting his eyes again.

As the professor greeted the many students who'd made their way into the classroom, LouAnn eyed the cane and the way the professor walked. She felt a little sorry for him, even though she knew him to be a really strong person. Or, at least, that's the way he'd always come across to her. When he began asking questions about wands, she glanced up and raised her hand.
"I disagree with the statement, because just a few weeks ago, Mr. Masterson asked me if he could borrow my wand. I mean, for a staff member to ask that, he must have known that it would work, right? ...and it did!" she replied, thinking back to the incident a few weeks ago. "I just think that certain wands are more suited for certain people, though, so they tend to work better for them." She glanced over at Rafe, who'd mentioned the Elder Wand. She'd been thinking along the same lines. "Yeah, the Elder Wand...you had to defeat its owner just for the wand to work for you. I think that's a special circumstance, though. Right?"

Lexi furrowed her brow at the state that Professor Lawson was in and looked to Lorcan with concern on her face before she raised her hand and said, "Professor, a borrowed wand will work for another. It may not work as well as it would for the master of the wand or if the person had defeated the master, but it will work. Any witch or wizard can channel their power through a wand." She shook her head wondering if saying that aloud sounded as convoluted as it had in her head.

Lorcan raised his hand nervously. "Umm, sir, I know that you can use a wand that isn't your own, because you used mine when Le- I mean, when I hurt my wrist." He shot a look at Lexi, he hadn't totally forgiven her for that. "You healed me with my own wand, so I suppose it's just a case of concentrating a bit more than usual because the wand didn't choose you and it doesn't know you very well."
Lorcan frowned, not completely sure that he had explained himself clearly. He knew what he had meant, but would Professor Lawson?

"Wands can work for those that aren't their owners, but not as well. Wands and their owners share a bond and this is why wands tend to work best for the owners they chose. Haven't there been many cases in history that support this?" | |

"I know you can borrow wands sir, its just that they might not always work as well for you, same as when you go and get your wand and try a bunch of different ones and some react better to your energy than others. When you get older and more in control of your magic, it is easier to borrow a wand even if you aren't like, completely in tune with it you can often make it work. Also some wands are a little more basic than others, like the three main cores which are phoenix feather, unicorn hair and dragon heart string, with the celtic woods, in general are easier to master. The difference is, aside from each witch and wizard needing their own wand so that they don't have to share, if you are used to your wand and your wand is used to you, your reaction times will be faster, non-verbals will be easier and your spells will be more powerful and you will be less strained by the effort of casting."

Jake, upon hearing this instruction, frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. No way was anyone getting his wand. Since that whole incident the boy had sought to carry just two wands on him at a time but...
Well, obviously Lawson didn't remember anything... but Jake remembered being in his office and revealing four wands... and then the broken memory. And some time around then, Lawson had been attacked. What if this lesson somehow jogged the man's memory?
And anyway. His wands were his. Period.

LouAnn listened closely to what the professor was saying. She was bound and determined to actually pay attention and follow along in this class. She'd been drifting off in a lot of her classes lately (her own fault really), so she'd made it her personal goal to do well in at least one. The class just happened to be the lucky one.
Hmm...alright, so they needed a partner? LouAnn glanced around the room, her eyes falling on Cela Toussaint. Since LouAnn had been at Hogwarts for nearly a year now, she'd begun to feel more comfortable asking others to partner up with her. "Hey, Cela! Wand swap?" she asked, holding her wand out.

Anywho, now they were... Swapping wands!? Uh, no...she didn't want to do that. What if some old dummy broke it! She'd be DEVASTATED.
Looking around all scared, Miranda wondered who she could swap it with. Someone who didn't look like they didn't have a clue... Could she swap with the professor instead? Eeeeeh.
Then she saw Jake, looking all...moody.
Well, it was way better than anyone! "Jake!" she called out in a whisper, "Want to swap?" Grimace.

Tibi instinctively grabbed his wand and held it tight. He hadn't so much as let it off his body since... the incident. He slept with it. He showered with it. And now he was supposed to let someone else use it.

Evelyn just gaped at the Professor for a minute or so before she started laughing. "Good one Professor." she said, not believing that he really meant to swap wands with someone. And here she thought that none of the Professors had a sense of humor. Already having two other people touch it was enough to make Evelyn go crazy. No one touches her wand...or uses it for that matter but her. And that was final...
But seeing other people already standing up and swapping wands with one another, her laughter died and she frowned. "He's serious?" she mumbled to herself, having a hard time understanding at the moment. 'What happens if we refuse?'

Even though the Gryffindor had squashed her into a pea of humiliation on the Quidditch field, he was okay in her good book. Plus he was Reese's boyfriend. And if this lesson involved anything somewhat dangerous, Livvy would be able to cause harm on him "accidentally". Not that she would... Of course not.
So... were they just supposed to swap? Smiling in return, Livvy held out her wand also and took hold of Jack's wand with her other hand.

Kylie's wand was her prized possession.. she wasn't sure who she would give her wand. She looked around the room for someone she knew to be partners with. She saw Kay and went over to her. Quote:
