"Sir, a werewolf?" Kay said putting her hand in the air to answer.

Adrienne raised her hand as Professor Lawson asked for any dark creatures they knew of, then spoke. "Well, there's lethifolds. Those are pretty dark." Considering they were basically homicidal cloaks that could only be scared off by Patronuses. She just hoped they weren't going to talk about certain specific creatures, or she would be tempted to do who knows what.

And then she heard it. That word. A scowl marred her face as she glanced around to find out who had said it, and then she saw the little Hufflepuff. Biting her tongue, she forced herself to look back toward the professor, trying to forget it had ever been mentioned.

Tehee, even the professor was late. Tut tut. Evan bit his lips as he tried his best not to smirk. No, it wasn't good to smirk to a professor that was late. Never.

He quickly rose his hand as the first thing he could think of was "A Basilisk." . Under the effect of the story of Prof. Lupa much? Obviously.

Hearing the professor ask about the different types of dark creatures Marie raised her hand and said "Professor are we going to learn about dementors?"

Josh jumped where he stood as he saw Rose stepping in the classroom who also did not miss his existence. He waved at her for her attention ro make sit next to him but she was already walking towards there but did not sit right next to him and it was difficult to understand why : she was also seemed to be interested in a Slytherin girl who was probably her best friend. It was a not a big deal though since Josh scooted closer to her. As he did do Rose whispered that she needed to talk to him ''Sure.'' he whispered back thinking that it was probably about her other personality inside.
Then when the professor took his attention by asking a question he jumped on his feet to give a quick answer ''Sir, sir, sir! Basilisk sir!''. He knew why he remembered this creature. Rose had a basilisk fang wand core but he did not care anyway, even thinking it might be fun.

Nikki walked in and started to say hello to the Professor, before she realized he wasn't there. The first year took a seat in the front row, and organised her belongings.

On the top of her parchment, she wrote the date, and spent a few minutes decorating the title "Dark Creatures", so soon it was covered in squiggles, and stars, and some things which looked like badly deformed roses...

As Nikki sat by herself, she daydreamed a bit, and wondered if the Porfessor would bring any dark creatures to class.

As the Professor came in, he asked if anyone knew any Dark Creatures. Nikki raised her hand. "Vampires, sir." She paled a bit at the thought of the Professor bringing one of THOSE into a class full of kids.

Oh, and there he was! Great!
Now the class could begiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin.

Dark creatures... There were lots of them, and most had been said by the other students already. But why not give it a go anyway.
"Sir," Miranda raised her hand, "The Inferi are one of these dark creatures..."

Eva quickly raised her hand:
"Dementors. I mean, dementors have to be considered Dark Creatures, right sir?" it was the first creature that came to her head. When another student mentioned wereolves, she made her best to disguise her stunned look. She rolled her eyes at the student in question. Yes, werewolves were dangerous, but they were nto exactly 'Dark Creatures'.

Right?

And then the professor walked in. Livvy smiled at Rachel and then looked at the professor as he instructed them to think of a few dark creatures. Hmm... she pondered for a while, trying to think of one that no one else had come up with it. No one ever wants to come up with an answer that someone else also came up with. That was just poopy and uncool. TOTALLY... uncool.

She raised her hand and gave an answer. "Red Caps are dark creatures, professor." Speaking of uncool... getting attacked by a red cap.

Ooooh! Defense Against the Dark Arts. Ella's favorite subject by far.

Dark Creatures?

"Sir, are Grindylows?" Ella took out a quill and some parchment and jotted down the others that people had said.

Evan looked up as he heard a familiar voice, but which he couldn't quite make out. He looked up and saw Eva, a huge grin immediately appeared on his face. He nodded and said "No, you can sit." How odd that Eva wanted to sit next to him, and how a good example to Iris. Mwaha.

Daaaarrkk creatures? "Professaahh," Cam sang while raising his hand in the air, "aren't grindylows dark creatures as well?" Ugh. Grindylows. Bad experience with 'em last term.

Jack raised his hand and replied, 'Banshees are a nasty bunch, for sure.'

With the adreneline of answering fast, Eva almost missed it when Evan adressed to her. She quickly sat down, taking out her notebook and the quill and smiled at the boy. I guess now it's the real test, she thought. Ddid he had what it took to be one of the top students?
Eva heard all the other answers with huge attention.
"Not bad..." she commented to herself. It wasn't surprising. Students tended to like DADA.

Evelyn smiled when Josh agreed. Breathing out a sigh of relief that he would still be okay with hanging around her, she looked towards the professor when everyone started calling out names of dark creatures. Twice she heard the word basilisk, making her somewhat nervous again. Distracting herself, she raised her hand. "Would a Acromantula be considered a dark creature professor?" she said, shivering at the word. 'Spiders...pfft...'

Destiny sat, still nervously, when Evelyn sat next to her. Answering her question about being ready, Destiny just shook her head. 'No, no, no, not ready.'



Some dark creatures? Well Destiny didn't know any and she liked it that way. Well maaaybe she knew one. She raised her hand 'Professor, would a dragon be a dark creature? I mean they are big, dangerous, and they breathe fire..' Nope. No more talking about them. She would not enjoy this class.

Iris watched professor Lawson come in and apologise. Pshh.

She raised her hand in answer to his question. "Thestrals, sir. Some wiards consider Thestrals to be dark creatures."

Giggling happily, Rachel sat down next to Livvy and began taking out her things, just as the Professor walked - if you could call it that - into the classroom.

Well then, no talking with Livvy until AFTER the lesson. She really needed to tell her about Christmas break... Like, desperately.

Dark... Creatures. Rachel wrenched herself out of her musings but by the time she had returned to the lesson, practically all the answers had been shouted out and she REALLY wasn't all that fussed about thinking deeper at the moment.

Eh. Next time.

"Yes a boggart is considered a Dark Creature. Two points."

"Ramora's are actually fish Tavelon and they are actually considered guardians of the sea. What you are thinking of are called Runespoor's and they are not Dark Creatures." Lawson gave the boy an encouraging smile. "We'' just be discussing them today."

"Yes you are correct Kaytone. Two points for Hufflepuff. Although the lines are a little blurry in this description for werewolves and we will discuss that later."


"Correct Adrienne. Two points for Ravenclaw."

"I will give you two points for your answer Evan. There is also debate on this description as well and we shall cover that."

"Is that your answer?"

"I will award you two points for your answer and we will discuss more on this."

"Very good. Two points for Slytherin."

"Excellent Miranda and yes they are. Two points for Hufflepuff."

"Correct Eva. Two points."

"Another excellent answer. Two points for Ravenclaw."

Marcus nodded at thee young girl. "Two points."

"Yes they are Cameron. Two points for Slytherin."

"Great answer Jack. Another two points for Ravenclaw."

"No they are not considered Dark Creatures and we will explain the reason for that in a moment."

"Yes they can be very dangerous Destiny but they are not Dark."



"Well unfortunately Iris those wizards would be wrong. Thestrals are not dark creatures."

"Okay some of you are getting confused between dangerous magical creatures and dark creatures. Who can tell me what the difference is between a Dark Creature and a dangerous one?"

"Will we be practicing spells to defend ourselves against them?" Ella asked curiously, "Or will you bring some in?"

Shudder.

"Yes, dementors is my answer sir." Marie said as she realised the professor was talking to her.

Hoping he wasn't too late to contribute, Jake raised his hand and spoke in a dark tone. "Kazimeriz."

Lyddia sat back and listened to the answers. She would have said something herself but the only thing she thought of was already said.

There were many other things mentioned that Lyddia had never heard of. She hoped the professor would elaborate on these things. She was really interested to know about all this.

She heard a pretty looking girl ask a question and thought about it herself. Yes, would he be bringing some in?
Lyddia hoped he wouldn't at the same time that she hoped he would.
She leaned back on her chair and pondered this, listening for the teacher's next words.

Copernicus raised his hand. "Sir, the Pogrebin is a known Dark Creature. Small, but nasty blighters."

Cela raised her hand cheerfully. There were still a few that hadn't been mentioned yet, but she just stuck with one. "Kappa, sir."
