After finishing up his class with the younger kids, Professor Lawson waited patiently for the last student to leave before he closed the door and began setting up for the next class.

He set upon his desk a large cage filled with...well you'll find out soon enough. He peeked under the covers and checked to make sure that none had escaped and also that the antidote was safely in his desk drawer. Satisfied he moved off the left side of the room and conjured up a couple of platforms complete with harnesses.

Moving over to the right, where he arranged the suits of armor into a nice straight line. And beside the suits of armor, he took the cover of the table that was holding the huge cubes of butter. Yep butter!!

And last but certainly not least, he set up a number of boxes along the back wall and well away from the desks. Another surprise for the students. Satisfied that everything was in order, Marcus made his way back to his desk and sat down in his chair (for once) and propped his feet onto the desk.

"Class is now in session" he called out. Haha...he'd always wanted to say that.

ooc: I thought I'd open the class now, so that you can all post your meet and greet. I'll be back in oh about 9 hours to continue. I don't mind a leeetle bit of chatter but please DO NOT go overboard.

From her position on the scaffolding, Cela waved at her classmates then she withdrew her wand and with a firm jab at the space between her feet (not at her feet because she wasn't stupid, even if she could be a bit ditsy sometimes), Cela said clearly, "Deprimo!"

There was a terrific cracking noise and little bits of the platform exploded downwards, creating a cloud of sawdust. Cela dropped and bounced on the end of the harness and she laughed happily.

"That was so fun!"

Bounce.

... someone would let her down, right?

"Excellent job Celandine" Marcus called out as he applauded the young girl. He flicked his wand at the ropes and they began to lower her gently back to the floor. "Just unclip the belt Celandine from your waist and your done.

He flicked his wand at the platform and repaired the hole that Celandine had made. "Okay who's next?"

"Okay up you come Fred and I can probably take another two more students as well, I have three harnesses here. So decide between yourselves who is next and climb up the ladder to the top of the platform." Marcus, held onto the harness waiting for the students to come up to the top.

Fred quickly made his way up the ladder and onto the platform. He smiled as he waited to be harnessed up so he could ghave a go with the spell and have some fun.

Cela quickly uncliped herself and moved out of the way, a huge smile on her face. That had been sooooo fun.

Grabbing the harness, Marcus put it around Fred's waist and clipped on the ropes making sure everything was in place and then stepped back to give Fred some room. "Okay off you go Fred."

ooc: This class will only be open for another 3 hours before I am finishing it up. If you wished to participate in the exercise, post your charrie.

Jack looked around. No one else seemed to be volunteering and...it looked KIND of fun. He watched as his fellow Gryffindor went up to give it a try and he raised his hand. "Erm, could I give it a try, Professor Lawson? Once Fred is done, that is," he asked. Maybe it would be like FLYING!

"Come on up Jack, there are a couple spare harnesses up here" Marcus, called down to the boy gesturing with his hand for the boy to make his way up the platform.

Jack grinned. This was going to be fun! He walked up to the platform and grabbed the spare harness next to the one that Fred had just strapped himself to, and buckled himself in. He pulled the buckles REALLY tight (cause he was really not in the mood to fall out right now) and waited, unsure of whether Lawson wanted to check his handiwork or not.

"Hehe. No Professor, just wanted to make sure I don't fall out!" Jack said with a small grin. Now he was getting a bit nervous--not that he would hurt himself or anything, but because he didn't really know if he liked that free-falling feeling you got in your stomach. The one where your stomach felt like it was going to fall out your bum--THAT one. It made him feel...uneasy. Just a bit.

Gulping, he pushed a few long pieces of hair out of his eyes and pointed his wand at the floor. He cleared his throat, and made a jabbing motion at the spot right between his feet. "Deprimo!" he exclaimed.

Just like when Celandine had done the spell, there was a loud crashing noise, followed by an explosion of sawdust that temporarily blinded the Quidditch Captain...then there was that sickening free fall feeling and then BOING! He started bouncing, going higher than the Ravenclaw had before him, due to him being a bit heavier than she was. BOING BOING BOING!

He laughed as he contined to bounce through the air. He felt like a kangaroo! Tee hee. "That was awesommmmmmmmme!" Jack exclaimed.

Admittedly the second exercise the Professor demonstrated to them - deprimo or something - seemed a bit unnerving to the Head Boy. Almost unsafe. Even if Celandine had survived alright and said it was fun, Dominic still wasn't fully convinced. And so he waited to see another student try it first. Jack ... Gryffindor Captain. Of course the boy was a bit off too, so who knew if his opinion was valid.

Biting his lower lip, he tilted his head at the harness and platform, as if studying the safety features involved. Lawson wouldn't do anything to hurt them, would he? Not when they didn't really have a Healer this term. Because some lady in pink who handed out cookies that gave large men [Borr] gas... well that could hardly be considered healing.

To try it or not? There weren't any Hufflepuffs volunteering... It couldn't be too bad, right? No. It was just going to be like on a broom. Two survivors ... he could do this; he was a seventh year and two days from his seventeen birthday. He would make it to being of legal wizarding age. He would take one for his house.

So then why was he still sitting down? Unable to move.

Slowly, Dominic rose towards the platform and the Professor. "I'll... I'll try it." Not the most convincing words in his life.

Abby walks up behind Dominic and examines the platform and harness too. "You're sure this is safe Professor Lawson?" Abby is sure Professor Lawson wouldn't do anything that would deliberately harm the students, but every precaution was taken at the Special Assembly last term and look what happened. No one has said if what happened was an accident, negligence, or sabotage. Someone could have it in for everyone at Hogwarts.

"May I try, too, Professor?" LouAnn asked, raising her hand even though she thought doing so wasn't necessarily needed. She'd been a little reluctant at first, but the more she saw her classmates having a go at it, the more she really wanted to try. The professor had mentioned that he only had three remaining harnesses, but maybe she'd luck up and get to use one before they were all occupied. Onced harnessed up and given the okay Fred pointed his wand down toward the platform and said, "Diprimo", with passion and conviction and the surface beneath him exploded. His moth opened wide as he started to fall and then all of a sudden he sprang back up and he started to laugh as he kept bouncing in the airand exclaimed "That was crazy fun".

Marcus watched as Fred completed the task perfectly and he gave him a round of applause. "Nice work Fred." He turned to the two Hufflepuffs and the Gryffindor. "Come on up Dominic, Abby and LouAnn and I'll fit you into the harnesses."

Sarah stood and watched as more of her fellow students went up to the harnesses.She was eager to have a go herself, but for now they were all occupied.She raised her hand in the air and looked over towards Professor Lawson. "Can I have a go in a minute please,Sir? It looks like fun!"

After sitting quietly through the rest of the class, Adrienne raised her head as Dominic went up to try out the harness. If he can do it, so can I, she thought, getting back into her little mood of challenging the seventh year on anything she could. Besides, he hadn't even noticed her shoes, so that annoyance didn't pan out.

Next thing she knew, she was raising her hand. "Professor? I'll volunteer to go once the harnesses are free," she said, before glancing over at the two other girls who had also volunteered.

Abby walks up to the platform ready for her turn. "Please make sure it secure professor. You know this reminds me of bungee jumping only muggle do it off of higher heights then this." Abby looks down at the floor. It doesn't looks so high up from here.

Oh, good! She was being allowed a chance at casting the spell, even though she'd decided to speak up a little on the late side. Leave it to LouAnn to not necessarily be 'the early bird'. She stepped forward and made her way to an available harness, smiling at the professor as she did so. "Thanks, Professor! Alright, I'm ready to be fitted into the harness!" she remarked. As she stood there waiting for the professor to fit her in, she silently went over the incantation of the spell. "Deprimo! Deprimo!"

Here goes nothing, Dominic thought as the Professor called him and two others - females - up to fit into the harness. Picking up the third harness, since LouAnn and Abby were already getting fit into theirs, Dominic put his on ... pulling the straps a bit tighter than probably necessary. Better safe than sorry; it wasn't like this was riskier than flying a broom ... actually it was probably safer, but still, it gave him the willies anyway.

Biting his lip, a sure look of pain on his expression, he grimaced. "All set, Professor?" Okay, perhaps he was overreacting just a little...

Now what was the spell again? Deprimo... just between where his feet were.... He could do this; he was nearly a wizarding adult. If Cel-an-dine could do it, then so could he.

Daniel was looking at his butter and listening to the Professor. His butter looked like a gryffin alright but the tail part was like blasted by some spell or something. He raised his hand and said, "Professor, can we move to another lesson but can have a separate session for the not so artistic people?" he asked shyly.
