"They aren't really colorful-ish like a pixie is." Evelyn said after raising her hand and taking a hair tie. Putting her dark wavy hair up in a ponytail, she shrugged off her cloak and held onto the bench, leaning back slightly.

Fred knew abit about imps from some bad experiences at Durmstrang, pranks and such so he raised his hand said, "Imps are creatures about the size of pixies that can't fly and are just plain annoying in ways they think are funny, I don't.".

Govoni 11-24-2009 12:55 AM

Marilyn simply glared at everyone in her vicinity. Eager much? She was going to say Imps were born fully-formed, unlike Pixies...but nevermind now.

TeafortheSoul 11-24-2009 01:20 AM

Cela raised her hand.

"Professor? Imps poop a lot. Especially baby Imps. Did you know that you can get Imp diapers? They are supposed to be really hard to change without charms though. Oh! And the ministry rating is XX, which means harmless or can be domesticated." domesticated except for the poop flinging and tripping and stuff.

MarcyMoo 11-24-2009 02:12 AM

Care of Magical Creatures...one of her favorite subjects. Her love for magical creatures, or any creatures, magical ornot, was never ending. She pulled her textbook and a tie back out of her bag, tying her hair back into a ponytail, then opening her textbook to page 265, reading carefully. 'Imps? Well, they look...evil...' She thought as she looked at the medium sized picture. She looked up and raised her hand. "Um, well it says that Imps make their homes in marshlands. Where they like to push and trip people who are unaware of them." She said.

"That's right, Carter. They can't fly. But they can certainly get around," she replied with a silly grin.

Oh yeah. Enthusiastic!Tibi was back.

"Professor, Imps are about seven inches tall, and even though they look like pixies, they're dull brown or black in color," he said.

"Good answer, boys," she said. "They deal with mistaken identity quite often. Muggles mistakenly refer to them as faeries." Silly Muggles.

Oh. Imps. ... Scary coincidence?

Mhm. Livvy picked up her textbook and flipped through it to the page on Imps. She read through it all, her eyes going back and forth as she processed each and every word. Then she raising her hand to share a characteristic, one that she hoped no one else would say and would seem like no one else would think of or want to say. Livvy said, "Imps share similar breeding habits with Pixies, but the only difference is that the young of the Imps, hatch fully formed." How interesting.

Professor Morgan nodded her head and said, "That's correct Olivia. Imp babies are teeny tiny, measuring about an inch tall. They're the most precious little things. Too bad I don't have any to show you all today." All her baby Imps were born last spring. They weren't babies anymore.

Iliana laughed. "That's one way to describe them," she said. At Jake's next comment, she raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Oh I know why,' she thought, shaking her head with amusement.

He didn't know that imps were real, he thought they were just from stories. He raised his hand and nervously said, "They have a slapstick sense of humor and they love to trip people so they fall." He glanced at Lexi, thinking that she must be constantly followed by a pack of imps, given how often she fell over.

"Correct! Like Pixies, Imps are mischievous little pranksters. They find it very entertaining tripping passerbys or pushing travelers into the river."

"You might change your way of thinking after this lesson," she answered hopefully. "Imps can be loads of fun too. What they REALLY crave is attention. Playing pranks is their way of getting it."

Giggling openly, Iliana said, "Yes dear, Imps are given a XX rating from the Ministry. But Cela... I thought you were assigned an Abraxan. What have you been doing changing baby Imps diapers?"

...

"Great answers, all of you. Here's what we've learned so far," she said.

"Imps are often confused with Pixies. Both range between six and eight inches in height. Unlike Pixies, Imps cannot fly and they are a dark brown or black color, as opposed to the much more vivid Pixies. Like Pixies, Imps are mischievous pranksters, and enjoy tripping or pushing travelers into the river. This is what earns them their XX rating. They breed as faeries do, although they do not spin cocoons. Instead, young are hatched fully formed, though only an inch in length." She sighed. If only she had a wand and a blackboard. It would make it so much easier than rattling all these facts off.

"Can anyone tell me what part of the world Imps can be found?"

LilFox06 11-24-2009 02:34 AM

Carter raised his hand. "Here in Britain and in Ireland." he said.

MarcyMoo 11-24-2009 02:35 AM

'Wonder if were gonna meet some Imps...' Nikki thought, not really paying attention to the professor. But she snapped out of her little trance when another question was asked. Where did Imps live? Well they probably lived in Britian, that was kind of obvioius. Looking down at her book, Nikki skimmed the text looking for the answer. "Imps can only be found in Britain and Ireland." She said, her hand in the air.

Roselyn 11-24-2009 02:37 AM

Evelyn, after imagining everything the Professor just said, raised her hand again. "They are usually found in Britain and Ireland, Professor." she said happily. Wow, she was in a strange mood, but it wasn't like she was complaining. 'Hmm, maybe I'll make a new friend...Yes. That is what I'll do today.'

DH Vixen 11-24-2009 03:02 AM

Mina raised her hand to answer, but quickly lowered it as she heard everyone else answering. She really did need to be quicker with her answering. Quickly she jotted down everything they had covered about Imps so far and waited for her next opportunity to answer.

Daffy.Potter 11-24-2009 03:09 AM

Oh. Well she knew THIS one. Livvy held up her hand to answer the Professor's question, even though several other students had already answered it well before her. "Imps can be found around Britain and Ireland, professor," she said, smiling and nodding her head. Imps weren't actually that bad. Everyone just thought they were. Poor Imps. Misunderstood.

Anum 11-24-2009 03:23 AM

Lucy half-raised her hand because half the class had already answered the question.

"Yes, I think everyone's right--they are usually found in Britain and Ireland, Professor Morgan."

The professor nodded along as each student answered. "Very good, class. That's absolutely right. Imps are found in Ireland and Britain, mostly commonly near damp, marshy areas, such as riverbanks."

She eyed her class curiously for a moment. So far, they'd been model students. She thought they'd be able to handle a bit of fun.

"Can I get a show of hands please? Who would like to see the Imps up close?"

MarcyMoo 11-24-2009 04:04 AM

When the professor asked who wanted to see imps Nikki instantly raised her hand. A chance to see an imp would be so much fun. They were just so feisty and mean, something that could be funny until it happened to you. "I would professor." She said excitedly.

Maxilocks 11-24-2009 04:05 AM

Up close? Ooooh.

Fyo raised his hand. "Can I, please, professor?" he asked, hopefully. Care of Magical Creatures was definitely one of his better subjects.

Destiny 11-24-2009 04:06 AM

'Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?'
See an Imp up close? Was this lady crazy!?
It was hard for Destiny to clean the Knarl pens and now Professor Morgan wanted show her an Imp? Oh no! And why did Evelyn decide to sit up front today?

Destiny did not raise her hand. She turned around and glared at all the students behind her. 'Don't you dare raise your hands..'

Roselyn 11-24-2009 04:07 AM

A chance to see an imp up close? Hmm...how close were they going to get? Smiling, Evelyn raised her hand after another student did. "Me too." she spoke happily, slightly bouncing in excitement. 'Okay, seriously, i need to calm myself down.'

Anum 11-24-2009 04:09 AM

Lucy's hand shot up immediately--she definitely wanted to see the Imps up close.

"I do, professor!!!" Lucy shouted.

Ginny Molly Weasley 11-24-2009 04:14 AM

Virgi raised her hand. "Professor, I would love to see the imps close. I love creatures and I want to be around them more."

Just go into the Forbidden Forest, that will give you a bunch of animals

AmbiguouslyMe 11-24-2009 04:15 AM

Oooo, she'd asked another question. Before she'd finished, Tibi's hand shot up in the air. He'd figure out the answer in a secon...

Wait.

Up close? Tiny creatures that played pranks?

Tibi looked up at his raised hand, eyes wide before pulling it down just as hurriedly and sitting on it for good measure.

No. Thanks.

Erindipity 11-24-2009 04:28 AM

Ooooohhh. Imps!! Yay!

Alexandra loved playing pranks so she may very well like the little Imps. She was so excited she could barely contain herself.

She began peeking around to try and catch a glimpse.

Liisa 11-24-2009 04:30 AM

The professor watched as several of the students threw their hands into the air. "Fantastic!" she said. "For those of you that are feeling less than enthusiastic, or even a little frightened, please feel free to observe from the back row. You are also allowed to head back to the Castle if you wish. I will be bringing out the Imps now to join us for the remainder of the lesson."

Professor Morgan understood the fear. It made perfect sense that some people would want to avoid dealing with the little jokesters.

Standing up, she walked over to the Sanctuary's entrance. "It will take me a moment to round them up but don't worry...I'll be right back." And with that, she slipped inside the stone building and closed the door.

OOC: I'm off for now. The lesson will resume in the morning. It is absolutely fine to send your charrie back up to the castle just please RP them leaving if that's your choice. And let's keep the chatting to a minimum. Night!

LilFox06 11-24-2009 04:38 AM

Carter waited excitedly for the Professor to return with the imps. It would be fun to see them.

AmbiguouslyMe 11-24-2009 04:40 AM

Oh. Should he go? It certainly would be much easier (and less scary!) to just head back to the castle.

Well... but how bad could it be? At least if he stayed in the back, they wouldn't bother him, right?

Squirming in his seat, Tibi tried to decide, not moving from the spot. But it seemed his indecision was actually a decision, since there he remained, unwilling to admit to being worried enough to leave.

Looks like this time, pride won.

Ginny Molly Weasley 11-24-2009 04:42 AM

Virgi waited patiently for the imps.

this would be so much fun!
