CoMC Lesson 3 :: Imps As Professor Morgan stepped out of her office door, she couldn't help but notice what a picture perfect day it was. There was a gentle breeze circling the air with scents of honeysuckle and gardenia and the late afternoon sun was still shining through the canopy of spring leaves. The class benches were all set up in front of the Magical Creatures Sanctuary along with her wooden stool up front. Taking her seat, she crossed her legs in front of her and waited patiently for her students to arrive. OOC: The lesson will start soon. Please keep the chatting to a minimum. |

With his hands shoved deep into his pockets and his blond hair swaying a little as he walked, head directed down, Jake breathed in the May air and approached the Magical Creatures Sanctuary. He'd not even brought his stupid robes with him today and as he arrived, the boy peered through his glasses at Professor Morgan. Taking one hand out of his pocket, Jake tugged hard on the end of his tie and took a seat on the hard bench without a word, tracing a pattern on the wood with one finger. Nice day for it... |
Skipping down to the class, excited that it wasn't at night time, but on this perfect and beautiful day, Evelyn smiled to the professor and sat down on one of the benches up front this time. 'Woah, sitting up front for a change? Hmm, when did that happen?' Her smile faded for a moment when she realised what she did, but shrugged it off. If she moved to the back now, the Professor might think that she didn't like her. Which was totally not true! 'Okay, creeping myself out now.' Taking a deep breathe and setting her bag next to her, Evelyn smiled sweetly again and waved slightly to Professor Morgan while moving a piece of hair away from her face. "Hi Professor!" her excited and happy tone could definitely not be missed. |
Lucy walked gracefully towards the Care of Magical Creatures Sanctuary, wondering what they would be learning about today. She saw two people there already, one whom she already knew--LouAnn. She sat down on the soft grass and waited for class to start. |
Lucille skipped towards the benches. She liked COMC. She especially liked the homework. ALOT. "'Lo professor," she said, sitting down. The, lowering her voice so only the professor could hear, "loved the homework," One sentence that Lucille thought she would never say in her life. She blinked slilghlty in shock. |
"And the wabbit and the rabbit went, hop, hop, hop, doooooooooooown to the partyyy..." Miranda was singing to herself as she made her way down to the next lesson. She stopped a few feet away and took in a deeeeeep breath, which left her with a big smile. And then off she trotted towards the Professor. "Good day Professor Morgan, miss!" she said with a little wave and went over to sit down on a char at the frooont. Hopefully, they would NOT be dealing with either, Love, plants that could kill OR poo. Miranda started to unpack her notebook and her muggle pen and quill. |
Alexa wandered down to CoMC class. It was a lovely day and she was loving the feel of the wind in her hair. She spotted the benches and went to have a seat near an older girl she wasn't sure but she thought her name was LouAnn. Plopping down on the bench next to her she smiled and then turned to the Professor and said, "Good day, Professor." |
Kay walk up to where the class was and picked a sit. She got the things out that she thought she would need. She looked around to see who else was there. She hoped that she wouldn't see Nate, or Lorcan, or..Evan that was his name. God boys were a pain. Kay looked up to see the Professor. "Hello Professor how are you today." Kay said with a smile. She remember the last class and hope that this class had nothing to do with poo. |
Kiri was glad that she'd decided to take a long-sleeved shirt with her. The day had been nicely warm and sunny so far, but it was also on its way out, and when the sun would dip below the hills behind the lake, it would probably turn quite chilly again. The seasons at Hogwarts did not change easily. From behind the professor, the sounds of the various creatures milling about in the Sanctuary were audible. Which reminded Kiri - she had completely forgotten to sign up for those Sanctuary exercises. A little extra credit would definitely have come in handy, but Professor Morgan... Well, she was a good friend of Lupa, and Kiri wasn't exactly comfortable with that. Now, however, she would focus on the lesson. "Hello, Professor," Kiri said curtly, and sat down on one of the wooden benches. |
Oh... what a prettttyyy day. And here she was off to have a prettttyyy awesome lesson taught by a prettttyyy beautiful and prettttyyy cool professor. Livvy practically skipped from the castle and down the path towards the Care of Magical Creatures Sanctuary, one of her FAAAVVORITE places. She just enjoyed listening to the gentle squeals and squirms and snorts that belonged to the magical creatures that were found there. And she just enjoyed watching them. Mhmmm.... Daydreammm... mhmmm.... As Livvy skipped into the sanctuary, she noticed many other students that had already arrived and she also noticed da prettttyyy beautiful and prettttyyy cool professor. "Hello Professor Morgan. What a wonderful day it is... isn't it? I hope you're enjoying it?" she said, smiling brightly as she took a seat on one of the benches that were already set up. |
Jack loved this time of year. Since his birthday had just passed, he was OFFICIALLY of age, which just made every day seem a little bit brighter than the next. There was just something that boosted his confidence when he thought about the fact that he could do magic outside of school now...he just felt so COOL. "Helloooooooooo Professor Morgan!" he said happily, taking a seat on one of the benches near the front. He really hoped this lesson didn't include more poop. He just couldn't....no. No more poop. |
Lyddia walked over to where Professor Morgan was sitting and sat down on one of the benches, happily. It couldn't be a better day to have a class outside. Lyddia was happy about the current weather. She could never stand cold days, but today was just perfect. Lyddia waved hello to the Professor and waited for class to begin. ...either that or for someone she knew to show up. |
Marilyn was excited about an outdoor class. Finally, no confined space and hideous smelling potions or crazy defense spells. She walked slowly into the beautiful Sanctuary that was Professor Morgan's 'classroom.' Taking a seat near the back, she relished in the clean air and lush trees. |
Mina skipped toward the Magical Creatures Sanctuary. She was really starting to enjoy all these outdoor lesson. Being cooped up inside was starting to make her feel like a cage animal. It was a beautiful May day and the air was doing wonders for her. Smiling to herself she found a seat near the from. "Hello, professor. What a beautiful day for a lesson." |
It was a great day as Carter walked to his Care of Magical Creatures lesson. He spotted where the rest of the class was gathered. "Hello Professor." he said happily joining the rest of the class. He took a seat in the grass and waited for the class to begin. |
"Hello professor," Tibi said softly as he made his way to his seat. It certainly looked less messy than picking up mooncalf dung, but he was sure there was probably a surprise. Plopping down on a bench, he let himself get distracted by his surroundings. It was certainly nice that it was warmer, now. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, grateful that term was almost done. |
Waving politely, the professor gave each of the arriving students a little greeting. "Good afternoon, class," she said when the majority seemed to have found their preferred seats. "Feel free to remove your robes and get comfortable. It's a beautiful day and I want us all to enjoy it. Girls, if you have long hair, please take a moment to tie it back. I have hair ties available for those who need them. The focus of today's lesson will be Imps and these creatures have a tendency to get a little…feisty." Professor Morgan waited for the class to follow her instructions and then continued. "To start, please pull out your textbook and turn to page 265. Read the section on Imps and choose one characteristic to share with the class." |
Carter removed his robe and got comfortable. He raised his hand after the question was asked. "Imps can't fly like pixies can." he said. |
Tibi's flipped through his book and skimmed rapidly before thrusting his hand into the air. "Professor? Imps are sometimes confused with Pixies because they are of similar size, but unlike pixies, they cannot fly nor are they as bright." Oh yeah. Enthusiastic!Tibi was back. |
Oh. Imps. ... Scary coincidence? Mhm. Livvy picked up her textbook and flipped through it to the page on Imps. She read through it all, her eyes going back and forth as she processed each and every word. Then she raising her hand to share a characteristic, one that she hoped no one else would say and would seem like no one else would think of or want to say. Livvy said, "Imps share similar breeding habits with Pixies, but the only difference is that the young of the Imps, hatch fully formed." How interesting. |

Herminny raised her hand and said, "I believe imps young hatch fully formed.". |
Jack raised his hand. Wasn't there a type of candy called Pepper Imps? Hmmm...he wondered if there was a relation. "Professor, Imps are about seven inches tall, and even though they look like pixies, they're dull brown or black in color," he said. |
Lorcan blinked. Magical Creatures was one subject that made him feel really dense, he had no clue about most of these creatures, they were just out of his range of experience. He didn't know that imps were real, he thought they were just from stories. He raised his hand and nervously said, "They have a slapstick sense of humor and they love to trip people so they fall." He glanced at Lexi, thinking that she must be constantly followed by a pack of imps, given how often she fell over. |
