There they were! Wand or no wand; they had their fire. "Very nice work, you three. Three points to each of you for your help. Thank you," she said.

Settling herself on an unoccupied blanket right up front, Professor Morgan unclasped her cloak and laid it aside. She'd be plenty warm enough now. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a large bag of marshmallows. Setting them out in front of her, she gave the students a smile and said, "Class I know it's cold and I know it's late but I'm really hoping you'll enjoy tonight's lesson." She pulled out several long skewers and placed them next to the marshmallows. "So... while we're out here, learning about fascinating creatures, why don't we enjoy this fire even more by toasting a few marshmallows? Help yourselves class," she said. "Just remember... we're here to learn first. This isn't a class on marshmallows," she added with a smile.

"Now... who can name me some nocturnal creatures? Creatures that are active during the night."

That had to be the biggest fire Destiny had ever seen. Taking the blanket Evelyn had given her she threw it over her shoulders and closed it tightly around her. 'Thanks!' she gave Evelyn a grateful smile.

Hopefully whatever they were doing did not involve taking off these blankets. She was way too comfortable.

Destiny raised her hand from under the blanket 'Bats are nocturnal!' and she quickly put her hand back under the blanket.

Chris raised his hand, "What about Hinkypunks?" he said excitedly.

Ignoring the food that was present after half a glance, Jake beamed his toothy little dopy grin. "Owls!" he said stupidly, hugging his knees to his chest, eyes wide and bright.

Lorcan heard Lexi sighing and looked at her. She was staring at the stars. "Hey," he whispered "I thought I was the stargazer." He smiled and gave her a nudge.

He raised his hand and said "Professor, are we going to be studying salamanders?"

Nocturnal creatures. Hinkypunks! Oh wait. Chris answered before her. Umm... owls! Oh wait. Jake answered before her. Why were these kids so fast at answering? Ooh! Ooh! Livvy raised her hand and said, "Bats are nocturnal!" Creatures. She didn't state what kind. She never said magical or muggle creatures. So who said bats wasn't a legit answer.

Nikki raised her now warm, unmittened hand in the air. "Would an owl count?" She asked. "There mostly nocturnal creatures even though they can be awake during the morning." Hey, she had seen tons of owls awake during the morning. They had to be awake if they were delivering letters right? Lowering her hand, she grabbed a marshmallow, ahh...so sweet and gooey.

Kay put her hand up to answer. "Professor, Would the Thestral be Nocturnal? also, would Devil's Snare be a creature or a plant?" Kay asked the Professor. Kay didn't feel that she was very well educated in this.

Herminny raised her hand to answer saying, "I believe vampires would be nockturnal cause they are weekened by sunlight.".

It was as if he had just appeared out of thin air when in actual fact he had merely crept along the pathway in the dark. Marcus plopped himself down beside one of the students. "I believe it's a plant" he whispered to the young Hufflepuff. "Although those creeping vines make it creature like, almost like tentacles."

He placed a bowl in front of him and took out some chocolate. "I reckon if we melt this and then dunk the marshmallows in it." He kissed his fingers and grinned, "It will be devine. Don't you think?" he asked, his voice still in a whisper so as to not disturb the class.

"Minks!" LouAnn exclaimed, giggling at the sound of the word alone. She lowered her raised hand before adding on to her answer. "I read that since it's harder to see during the nighttime, they've developed one awesome sense of smell. They can seek out a prey with their nose alone! I don't recommend getting too close, though---they won't provide you with the greatest smelling perfume, ya know." She doubted they'd study minks in Care of Magical Creatures class, but all the good answers had already been called out.

Kay jumped just a little when her DADA professor plopped next to her. Kay smiled a little at him. ""Thanks professor. I wasn't sure about that." she whisper back. "Oh, the chocolate would be great that way." Kay said being happy for the first time that night. "Are you staying for the class?"

Tavelon excitedly took a marshmallow and began toasting it. "You mean magical creatures, right Professor?" he asked. "Well... lots of reptiles are nocturnal... I think Lethifolds are, too." he added "And I think hinkypunks should be... since they carry lanterns." He stared intently at his marshmallow, trying to think of some others. "Oh, and mooncalfs! They only come out at night"

"Possums." Celandine answered and then thought a little more. MAGICAL creatures? Ummm.... "Hinkypunks? They have those lights that they carry to lure people into bogs." And... errr she wasn't going to say lethifolds, even though they were nocturnal, they still freaked her out. "Oh a mooncalf!" Cela added, hand raised.

Miranda thought for a moment. She wasn't very good at this class, but wanting to contribute with something, she raised her hand.
"Miss, basilisks...maybe?" Errr... "Or is that a dark creature?" Grimacing, she waited.

Marie looked around Kay at Professor Lawson when she noticed he was sitting down beside her. 'Where did he come from' she thought. 'He wasn't sitting there just a minute ago.' "Kay, is he going to share that chocolate with us?" she whispered as she eyed the bowl and the chocolate the professor had taken out.

Tavelon noticed Professor Lawson had come out and joined them. No doubt for the marshmallows. But he wouldn't do homework! Lucky. None the less, Tavelon inched himself closer so he'd have a chance to get at the chocolate. He gave a polite wave and mouthed 'Hi'.

Professor Lawson was nice. But chocolate was the goal.

Kay looked at Marie and smiled. 'when did she get here?' Kay wonder. "I hope so" Kay whispered back to her. Kay grabbed four marshmallows. Kay handed one to Marie and then one to the Professor. "Here Professor, Let see if its good that way." Kay whispered to him. Kay looked at Tavelon and smiled. "Here is a marshmallow." Kay said to Him

Marcus gave the Gryffindor girl a cheery wave back.

"That's what I thought" he replied happily as placed pieces of chocolate into the bowl. "Might hang around for a while." Marcus gave her a huge smile when had finished placing all the chocolate into the bowl. "Um...do you know how to do the fire charm?"

He almost burst out laughing at the Slytherin and had to cover his mouth so that he wouldn't disrupt the class...well anymore then he had already. Marcus leaned over towards the young girl, "Only if you're a good girl and do what Professor Morgan says."

Marcus jerked his head and gestured for the Tavelon to come over and join them. There was plenty of chocolate to go around after all. Lawson, was never short of chocolate.
