"Joking, joking." Evelyn said, taking out her own runes and textbook along with a piece of parchment, quill, and ink. "I don't understand why the whole class doesn't just drop the course. I really can't stand being in the same room with the professor, and i bet everyone else feels the same way after that class. He sounds a lot like my father." Chills ran down her spine just thinking about. The mess, the yells, the bones cracking. Yea, she heard about that. Poor girl. "Hmm, okay. What question should i ask...' She slouched down in one of the chairs, leaning her head back so she was staring up at the ceiling and closing her eyes, trying to think. 'Tic toc tic toc Ms. Flores.' it said. 'How bout if I'll ever get rid of you huh? Please be quiet, I'm trying to think.' Evelyn said irritably in her mind. 'Think faster. Plus you won't like the answer the runes will give you. I'll never go away.' the voice laughed. Evelyn squeezed her eyes shut harder, hoping to squish the voice out. "Uh-Umm..." she started shakily. "How bout, will i ever get my obsession under control?" she asked, suddenly opening her eyes. "Or should i ask something else..."

''Maybe he has a good influence on somebody else, who knows'' he commented though he knew it was a bad shot than he listened to her question ''Your obsession?'' he repeated. 'What obsession? Under control?' There was more to ask but he decided to be silent just for this time since those runes reading thnig, which as a class he regarded rubbish, would likely to help him understand much of her. ''Okay, i think that's fine. It'll make sense only to you then, which would make it easier for me to put a meaning on the runes objectively.'' he took the bad and drew the first rune

''Your past rune is the Quintaped'' he said showing her the spider sign and putting it on the table ''It is the number five and means duels, fighting, warning, isolation, hunger, stability, inability to focus, lack of foresight'' he read from the textbook ''So this might mean that you have been fighting against that obsession of yours quite determinedly which shows your stability but the obsession sometimes had the dominance and prevented you to think clearly or right or as you wished'' laughing at his cheap made up words he drew another rune.

He narrowed his eyes at the rune ''What is this? A squid?'' he showed her the rune as checked it from the textbook ''The Unknown...interesting...this is the present for you. It's the number seven and means mystery, luck, magic, secrecy...'' he stopped, stared at her than back at the book to read the rest ''...sin, evil, death.'' how was he going to talk about this one? What was he going to say? He had to made up something and he was careful not to make it so bad ''Umm...yeah you are a mysterious girl, are not you? For me yes. Maybe you are about to solve the mystery about your obsession before it leads you to...some bad things. Luck and magic, yeah, that's good you are starting to overpower it with your powerful magic'' putting it next to the other he drew the last one.

''Hmm Graphorn for future'' a short reading of the page again ''The number two and means protection, repelling, strength, danger, teamwork, risks, determination, deception and love'' he looked at her face and smiled ''This looks like good news, does not it? Maybe you are going to gain strength enough to repel your obsession and the danger or risk that it might cause you...'' 'by the teamwork with your love whom you'll lie about something' suddenly the sentence was completed in his mind before he could think 'What is this? Dont be stupid Joshua!' he mentally scolded himself and went on with the meaning ''...and you will have love'' he finished smiling.

Evelyn closed her eyes again as she listened to him say the runes. The first one was spot on, making her smirk. She had been fighting it for awhile, but rarely successful. The second rune she heard, she wasn't at all surprised. She was fighting it. She didn't want this, addiction, any longer. It was hurting her and it ruined her relationship with her family. But the stupid voice was always trying to persuade, every time she rebels against it; it speaks and forces her to go somewhere alone. She hated it.

The last rune Josh spoke about surprised her greatly. She didn't think that she would ever overcome what was happening. Opening her eyes, she let a small smile play on her lips, staring up at the ceiling. 'Don't get too happy. The future can always change.' the voice spoke in her mind. Evelyn didn't care what the words the voice spoke meant, there was still hope. "That is a good reading." she finally said quietly after a minute or so when Josh stopped speaking. Turning her head over to look at him, she smiled. "Very good reading." Sitting up, she pulled her runes, parchment, and book to her. "Okay, so my turn. Ask a question."

Josh was glad to hear from her that she liked his reading or poor made ups. Maybe it really enjoyed her. ''Thanks, i just tried'' he said. Now it was his turn. What should he ask? There was nothing in his mind except the career and he knew it was on his mind because he heard the girl asking it. ''My question is...'' 'C'mon, you are so creative when it is about jokes why not on questions?' There was something else but no, it was not a good idea, not now. ''...well i want to know about my general condition in life no too general that is. Let's say i wonder if i'm going to achieve my goals in life and be happy'' he shrugged ''I'm sorry but i'm kinda excited i could not think of something better''

"Alright." Evelyn laughed, nodding her head and grabbed the rune bag. "Well, your first rune, which is past, is..." sticking her hand in the bag, she fished around the bag for a second before taking one out. "The Acromantula." she showed Josh the crabby looking picture of the rune. "Which means Intelligence, spoken word, language, fear, uncaringness, magical creature awareness, and danger. Hmm...well that's a toughy. Well, in the past you were a lot younger than you were now so you probably hadn't thought about your goals in life or where you were headed which could explain the uncaringness. And as time went on you were becoming more aware of your 'life' so to speak and what you want to do in it which could explain the intelligence part. You were saying that you wanted to be like your dad who is...that auror person but in muggle form, i forgot what you said it was called, sorry. But an auror is a dangerous job and i have no clue what the magical creature awareness part has to do with life goals. So yea..."

Putting down the rune, and copying a few things that she said onto her paper, she picked out another rune from her bag. "So your second rune is for the present, and it is a...Salamander. Hey, your favorite." Evelyn giggled quietly set the rune down next to the first one. "The Salamander represents Restoration, life, heat, Fire, thriving in adversity, dependence, passion...and umm, passionate love, protection, and tempermental. Well that definitely describes you right now i think." she smirked and holding in her laugh as she looked over at him. "You are a Gryffindor after all. So, this could mean you are becoming passionate about fulfilling your goals in life, you probably know what you want to do and is trying to achieve it any way possible. You are full of life, happy...yup...but thriving in adversity? I guess that could mean either you are overcoming some troubled times or you like a challenge." she mumbled the last few words as she stared at the two runes on the desk. 'Seems good so far.' she thought as she grabbed her rune bag again. "Living in the moment."

"And your future rune is..." she squeezed her eyes shut for more dramatic effect and took out a rune. "A thing. Wow, what is that..." Looking in her book, she tried to find the picture that was identical to the one on the rune. "A Fwooper. Looks like Big Foot decided to become a bird." she mumbled, reading the description. "It means Insanity, emotions, happyness, impurity, negative beauty, and natural equalization. Well it has the word happiness in it." she smiled up at Josh. "Hmm, but it also says insanity and negative beauty...so i'm afraid that means you are going to turn insane and become ugly when you're older." Evelyn couldn't hold in her laugh after she finished her sentence, and continued to laugh for the next minute or so. "Sorry, sorry. Just kidding." Holding her sides, as they were starting to ache from laughing too hard, she calmed herself down. "That could just mean you will be crazy about your job and happy with your life and since i believe you said you wanted to be an auror, negative beauty could translate into messy work. Not like, your doing a sloppy job or anything, i mean being an auror is a lot of hard work and is a 'messy' job, if you know what i mean." Putting the last rune down next to the other two, she jotted down some more notes on her parchment. "Or something could go wrong, but that doesn't seem likely with you."

Looking up at Josh, she smiled widely and sweetly at him. "Seems like both our futures aren't going to turn out so bad after all." She hoped that it didn't sound too out there, but it was the best she could do.

She was way good at this than him, it was obvious. She seemed like she was not just making up meanings but really could guess. He carefully listened to what she told about his runes and laughed at his future as well. ''So, now, i know why you had such a difficulty with deciding between me and the Astronomy professor'' he picked up the scarlet phoenix quill that Rose bought for him and took down some notes about her comments on the runes. Merely the parts he remembered. 'Salamander' yes it nearly described him in every aspect. Maybe Runes was not all rubbish at all. ''You were great!'' he said enthusiastically ''I'm very impressed. Wow you really do success in impressing me every time'' . He did not care about the future 'dangers' much at all so the few bad meanings was nothing to him.

Evelyn laughed at his comment on him and the Astronomy teacher and set her black and gold quill down. 'You were great...' Looking up at him, she almost blushed. "I just made stuff up depending on the meaning." she mumbled, smiling slightly. "So... now what?"

He smiled at her ''Well, this is all about Runes, is not it? Making stuff up. And i have to confess that you are pretty good at it, just like you are at everything else'' he jumped off the table and wandered into the class some. ''Now what? Good question.'' he seemed to think hard, hand on the chin ''Hmmm...'' than jumped turning to face her ''Wanna play a game?''

'Yea, you're pretty good at making stuff up.' the voice laughed. Evelyn made no motion to show that she was paying attention to it, knowing all too well that it would annoy the voice like crazy. She watched Josh wander around the class some more, and then turning to her, saying something about wanting to play a game. "Depends." she said, turning around to face him. "What is the game?"

''Errr...'' his eyes were fixed on her face ''I dont know...yet'' then he turned back and went on patrolling the empty class. He had to find out something both enjoyable and useful. Useful for him to understand more of her. Usually with a gaze and a little piece of talk Josh could tell what a person was like but this seemed not to work that well on Rose. ''What about quick questions?'' he asked giving her a demanding look.

"Quick questions?" she raised an eyebrow at the thought. 'Seems harmless enough i guess.' Evelyn thought as she moved to sit on the desk instead of the chair, moving her head slightly sideways. "What is that...you just ask questions?"

''Yeah'' Josh nodded ''Quick questions. I have just made it up'' he laughed ''And yes simply you ask questions and the other answers, there are two basic rules, though.'' he walked back to the table and leaned on it gazing at her ''The questions should be extraordinary but simple and the answers should be quick which means that you have to tell what occures to your mind the very second you hear the questions. It does not matter if the answer does not completely match the question. Understood?''

Evelyn frowned slightly when she heard the 'instructions'. 'Okay, maybe not so harmless after all.' She had a feeling on where he was headed with this 'game' but she chose not to say anything about. "Alright. You go first then." she said, gesturing to him, a small smile playing on her lips.

''Nice'' he smiled. 'Here we go. Let's dig some information up' . He sat back on the table just like he did while doing the homework. ''Here goes my first question to you. Simple but extraordinary, questions nobody would really ask you in everyday life like this one'' he indicated a finger at her ''Quick! Imagine you are a magical creature. Where do you live?'' he asked fast.

"Forest close to the mountains." she responded quickly, saying the first thing that came to mind, surprising herself. Widening her eyes slightly, she looked around to make sure she was the one that actually said that. "Umm, okay." she said mostly to herself, trying to think of something that wouldn't be asked in everyday life. "If you were a spell, which one would you be?"

''Expelliarmus!'' Josh uttered the moment Rose pronounced the last word ''That was a good one'' he winked 'Wow she knows how to get it too' and went on for his turn ''If you were described with a colour, what colour should that be?''

"Dark red." she responded after his question. Leaning back on the desk and propping her feet up on the back of the chair, she asked another question. "If you were given the chance to do anything and get away with it, what would you do?"

At her questions the words that described the first thing in his mind slipped out before he could control them ''I'd do a little surprise to show what my ideas about you and get away so you...'' finally realising what he was talking about his voice dropped and turned into a cough. 'You fail idiot congratulations!' ''...would not know who did it.'' he completed. It was too late to turn it into something else after all, what was done was done. He put on a smile ''I'm starving, shall we go to the kitchen?'' . This was the first time he failed in this kind of mind games so he was not sure about what to do or what to say.

Her brows furrowed in concentration and somewhat confusion. 'A little surprise to show his ideas about...me? What did that mean?' She sat up straight and let her legs slip off the chair as she held onto the desk when she heard him break off his sentence for a split second. She was just about to ask if there was something he needed to say, but he continued to speak, changing the subject and suggesting to go to the kitchen. Slowly closing her mouth, she studied him for a few more seconds before getting off the desk and moved to pack her things. "Sure." she said quietly, smiling up at him and then looked down to her bag, flipping the top over and securing it before picking it up and swinging it over her shoulder. Evelyn decided to let it be. If he wanted to say something, then she would let him on his own time, but for now, she wouldn't push him to do anything. "Do you know where it is? The kitchen i mean."

He did not look away as she stared at him, apparently weighing and measuring the meaning of his words. Just kept staring at her as if he was trying to read her mind. For a second thought he had nothing to worry, actually, since he did not say anything bad or wrong, however could not help giving out a sigh og relief as she did not question him about his 'quick answer' for the 'quick question' . 'What a game of such a creative mind!'. Making up his mind quickly he replied her question just like nothing had happened ''Not the exact location'' he said as he walked to pick up his belongins too ''But i heard the rumour that it is around where a lot of Hufflepuffs are'' when he was finished with tucking his belongins into his bag he made his way to the door ''Let's find out''

Evan closed the book, and shoved it into his bag, saying "Anyways, see you later." before getting out. Now, where to go...

Copernicus was looking for a good spot for quiet study... and this room was as good as any. He ducked into the empty classroom and unpacked his bag. Ah. Quiet. Blessed blessed quiet. The library was much too crowded these days.

Walking along silently, his books on wandlore held in his hand, Jake entered classroom 11, a room he'd never entered before, and ran a hand through his hair, sitting down at a table straight away.

Nice.

Quiet.

Calm.

Good for studying.

Arithmancy textbook in hand, LouAnn Purple pushed opened the door to an empty classroom and headed aside. Well---she'd thought it was empty. Apparently Copernicus Kettleburn had come up with the same idea she had. "Oh, hey, Cope. I---I'm sorry to intrude on you, but I guess we had the same idea," she said, blushing just a little. Ahh, well. Maybe he wouldn't mind so much, and she could get to know him a little better in the process. "May I?" she asked. After all, he was in here first.

Torin headed into the room figuring that a place like this would be great for studying.

Noticing Jake was there too, he waved to the Hufflepuff and then headed to a desk and took a seat.
