I'm sorry!" she whispered. "Please don't be mad!" she pleaded, her hair turning a droopy gray-blue. For some reason, Keeley always felt as though she was always doing something wrong.

Eyes and face still rather blank, LouAnn blinked just once then turned towards the boy calling out to her. For a few seconds longer, she simply stared at him, then as if a light suddenly turned on inside her head, she came to and gasped, blinking several times in a row. Had she nearly blacked out again? Twice. Twice, this had happened.

"Oh, hey, Rafe!" she greeted, shaking her head to indicate she didn't see anything interesting at all. To be honest, she hadn't remembered what she'd been doing a few seconds earlier. Why, she didn't know, but it did scare her a little. "Nothing at all. I don't know what we're supposed to be looking for either. Anyway, I haven't been up to much. Still just trying to adjust to the school. I heard you tried out for Quidditch. How's that going?" she replied.

"Hi Keeley! Nice seeing you here!' says Choluna. she was talking as fast as she was the first day of Hogwarts. She was just so excited that she was at her very first class! Charms! Eeep! So cool! She sat down close to Keeley and Bella and waited for class to begin!

"Oh that would be great," Zoe replied.

"I don't think that I have made it to the library yet. It's on the fourth floor, right? I feel silly worrying about the Astronomy assignment, but I hate to not do well and I haven't quite figured out what will make that man happy. Shamelessly sucking up just isn't my style, but who knows what I will have to resort to stay sane in that class." Zoe smiled back at Mina thankful that she had found someone to share the Ancient Runes assignment and class information with.

"Oh..ok." she whispered back, pulling out her favorite book from the muggle world: the looking glass wars. Her hair turned back to bubblegum pink, but she had a feeling that she wouldn't be getting a reply to her note. Turning to the newly arrived Choluna, she whispered, "We're not supposed to be talking, or we'll lose house points"

Rafe thought something was a bit off with LouAnn, she gasped suddenly and then addressed him. "Well, yeah, it's going okay I guess, I've only gotten...I think," he was staring at the ceiling again, but this time not because everyone else was,"...something like twenty-three out of forty-seven goals. Ugh! I've made some really bad moves, just taking a few risks that have not paid off. The other day I ran into one of the hoops." Rafe shook his head. "It could have been worse," he rubbed his left arm, it was still fairly bruised.

Rafe sighed. "Anyways...too bad you didn't try out for the team, I mean I know you're new to all of this, but so far it's really fun. I think you would have enjoyed it! There's nothing like the wind in your hair and the thrill of knocking people off...well, scoring a goal!"

He took out his wand again and whispered under his breath a spell and a purple flame shot out into his hand. He began playing with it and widdled it through his fingers. "I wish there was something outside of classes to do. I mean Quidditch is fun, but there's not much actually interactio, if you know what I mean?" Rafe made the flame jump finger to finger, like they were trampolines.

Where in the world was the teacher? Keeley was bored to death, and she was eager to start, even if it was some just some basic things.

Bella was listening to thoughts, because she was bored of reading. You know that feeling when you think and can't read? thats what Bella felt like. Well it felt like hours have been wasted by sitting there, but it could have been only 5 minutes, she didn't have a watch on. So bella was wondering what Keeley was doing writing questions with her quill. She felt like asking but for some reson decided not to. what, should she? she didn;t know. Well she just desided to wait, and look at the ceiling once more....

What was with people and this ceiling lately?!?! Keeley looked up, just a regular ceiling. That not helping her boredom, she started sketching Hogsmeade, the sweet little village that she, Bella, and Chelle had been to earlier. She wasn't a bad artist, and when using that magic ink that makes your doodles come to life, she was pretty proud of herself.

Ian wiped his mouth with his sleeve when he realized that he had begun to drool. He looked around the classroom and noticed that some more people had walked in, and that most people were staring at the ceiling also.

PERFECT! Now was his chance!

He concentrated real hard-like on the image he wanted to create, and said a spell to himself in his head. Almost immediately, I gigantic pair of gloved hands appeared above the class and clapped several times.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
BOOM!

The clapping sound thundered around the room, shaking the desks and causing the chandelier to sway back and forth, threatening to fall.

Attention, YOU HAZ BEEN GOT!

"Well, now that I've got your attention," he began, suppressing a snicker, "I think it's time to start the lesson. So, are there any guesses as to what we'll be studying today? If you've been paying close attention to the sounds of the room, then perhaps you might have an idea. I've already given you two hints..."

Ian liked messing with the students: messing with the students - he likes it.

"Engoooorr--"

AHMAHGAWDDDDAHMAHGAWDWOTWASTHAT??? Cam literally jumped from his seat when he heard the BOOM BOOMs. Earthquake? No. Some two big clappin' hands appeared abooooveeee. And well. IT CLAPPED. He payed his attention back to the professor while hands still on his eaaarsss. "UHHH. Some maybehhh some soundproofing charm?" Ohhh if there was a soundproofing charm the previous term with the mermaids... it would have been SOOOO much better.

Right? RIGHT? He suddenly twitched and poked his desk several times.

Evelyn had spotted the spider. The thing. The monstrous little creature...and even though it was on the other side of the room, it was WAY too close to her. Glaring at the eight legged demon, she almost didn't notice the big pair of gloves appear above them, or that their desks were shaking, or the fact that the chandelier could have possibly fallen on them. NO no noooo, she was going to make sure that the thing knew that if it moved one inch toward her, she was going to be whipping out the big guns (aka her shoe). She looked over at the professor, confused for a moment to see him speaking but not being able to hear him. "What?" shaking her head, and rubbing her ears. Why couldn't she hear anything? 'Jeez did i just go deaf?'

Destiny's heart almost leaped out of her chest. The sudden clapping hands really scared her. She had to put her hands over her ears to drown out the sound.
'This professor is crazy' she thought to herself.

Still holding her ears, Destiny had to scream over the loud clapping. 'Hopefully it will be the silencing charm!'

Gwyn shook her head to get rid of the booming reverberating in her head. It didn't really work.

How am i supposed to know what we are doing? she looked around saw Evelyn looking at some-thing in the corner of the room. right, so, maybe we are going to have to make a spider deaf? how are we going to do that? we won't know if it is deaf. I don't speak spider.

so Gwyn shouted over the hands - "I think i agree with Destiny!"

Jack raised he hand and offered, 'How about a charm to stop people from eavesdropping on your conversation?'

Zoe nearly jumped out of her skin, or that is how it felt, when a deafening booming sound reverberated throughout the room. A moment later she still felt like her bones were vibrating from the noise.

She thought she heard the professor asking what they were going to be stuffing, no he said studying. The ringing made it difficult to hear herself let alone others. She pressed her hands against her ears and stretched her mouth open trying to make the noise stop.

She raised her hand and practically shouted, "Could we be studying a silencing charm, or possibly a charm to protect your hearing from dangerous sudden noises, or maybe a charm to keep noises contained and private." Normally she would worry about babbling, but her brain was too scrambled at the moment.

Marie about fell out of her chair when she heard the thundering boom come from the ceiling. He sure does know how to get someones attention she thought as she clapped her hands over her ears and straightened herself back up in her chair.

Ian chuckled at the responses his students were giving. "Sorry about the ears, kids."

DUH. He had just deafened them. He should be shouting!

"OH. I MEAN. SORRY ABOUT THE NOISE! ANYWAY, PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT THE CLUES WERE IN WHAT YOU DIDN'T HEAR, NOT WHAT YOU DID HEAR."

Ian was satisfied with himself.

The clapping stopped but Destiny's ears were still ringing.

'I didn't hear you say a spell, are we learning non-verbal spells?'

Cela looked up at the booming frowned a bit then raised her hand. "As nice and distracting as the giant hands are sir, you totally pulled a neat bit of disillusionment earlier. Either that or you have an invisibility cloak but I'm guessing disillusionment and maybe we are learning how to do that? So like... hidden things? Being secretive and all Slytherinny?"

'Slytherinny?' Evelyn liked the sound of that. 'Aha! I can hear again! Barely...but still!' she looked over at Destiny when she spoke about non-verbal spells. 'Aw, non-verbal spells. So useful. So fun.' she smiled evilly, as she looked at the spider in the corner. 'I'm warning you buddy...'

Marie raised her hand "Well Sir, I am assuming since hands just appeared from the ceiling and we did not hear you say anything, we are going to be learning non-verbal spells today, is that correcxt?" Marie really had no clue what the professor was talking about but it was worth asking if it would get him to reveal to the class what his plans were.

A nagging buzz was left from Daniel's hearing. He tried to shake it off by tapping the side of his head and it is silencing down. He then closed his eyes and said, it will stop and in just a matter of minutes it did and he can hear the yell of their Professor.

He looked at his direction and raised his hand, "Professor, will we be learning about casting spells with our mind? I mean casting a spell without uttering a word?" he commented.

"I feel the same way, but I just sucked it up and sucked up a little,"Mina smiled. "It will be a miracle if any of us will remain sane in that class." Mina was just happy to find out she wasn't alone in her thoughts of that class. "Yes, fourth floor. I usually sit in the corner."

Mina looked toward the front of the class and saw the professor move, before the loud clapping began. She jumped and covered her ears. 'Great, the headache is coming back again'

Slowly, she removed her hands from her ears to listen to the professor.

Mina blinked and thought about what he was asking. 'Maybe non-verbal spells,' she thought to herself as she shook her head a little. Her ears were still ringing but they were getting better, she hoped.
