"I am," Jake nodded, smiling at the girl and lowering his foot again, because Melanie's feet had, of course, moved. He watched her and listened to the answer to his question, shoving both hands into his pockets.

But then...

Then the question.

"Tuh-tuh-tuh-talking like wwwwwhat?" Jake asked, feeling slightly self-concsious of his stammer!slur and deciding to play it off.

Of course he was. Meanie smiled slightly, happy to be saved from her trance of epic boredom. He should get a medal or something shiny at least.

As he answered her inquiry Melanie blinked.

She blinked again, and then a few times more, before realizing. Giving Jake a solemn look, she bit her lip slightly, coming to a grave, gravvvvvvve conclusion.

"J-Jake. Do you think my HEARING's going bad?" she asked him, eyes wide as dinner plates and filled with the utmost amount of seriousness as she came to the only possible answer.

Oh NOOO.

Wondering for a moment if Melanie was stooping to that sarcasm thing people sometimes did, Jake stood quietly for a moment. Then, he kind of figured that he didn't believe Melanie would do that, and shook his head to the negative.

"You're nuh-nuh-not," he said quietly.

Really, didn't she watch peoples' lips when they spoke?

"But I duh-duh-don't tttttalk funny," Jake added hurriedly. "It... it's not muh-muh-my ffffffault."

Melanie looked doubtful for a moment. She'd ruled out the idea of Jake lying already. But, if her hearing was perfectly fine, he was telling the truth, annnd he still sounded odd...

Well technically not all those statements could be correct, could they, unless she'd missed an option...or something?

As he explained, Melanie raised a brow, giving him a quizzical look. His explanations weren't exactly fitting together, like puzzle pieces. "What happened to your voice then? Some odd accent you got there, or what?" she pressed, curiously. "I mean...I guess it's not so bad." Melanie added good-naturedly, giving him an encouraging nod. After all, if it was something he couldn't help she didn't wanna hurt his feelings. Though...either way, he was acting a rather strange about the situation.

So, in an attempt to lighten the air, Melanie grinned widely, hit by an sudden inspiration. "That's a nice tapestry, y'know." she commented oh-so-casually glancing over at it.

It was.

Where were they? Had they got her owl? Lucille was nervous, especially because this would be the first time she had seen Shana since the heffalump/faceless incident.

But they needed a meeting. And they were going to have one..

IF they ever got there, that was.

Warren strolled in. He received a message from Lucille via Owl mail. Somehow the Owl always seemed to attack him. Ouch! Waz noticed Lucille pacing up and down a lot and wondered what it could be? Why did she want him? was something up? bad... hope not. Warren walked over and smiled. ''I was doing me hair.. what do you want now!'' he chuckled.

Hmm.Lucille; evil heffalump.

Warren; Evil heffalump's boyfriend.

This meeting could be very awkward yes which is why Shana was carrying Charlie her cat in her arms for protection.

Lucille looked up as she noticed people approaching. She gave Warren a look that said "you're a fool!" and turned to Shana......

Lucille no likey.

"Er, right," she said, looking more at warren than shana. She had a cat. Whaii?

"I just thought everyone should know, that i think that someone is not being entirely truthful with us. All of us,"

She swallowed and waited for their reaction.

Shana smirk this was a great plan to get revenge. Or a least a little bit of revenge."Lucille! How could you lie, I mean fair enough to me but to your own boyfriend. Not even bothering to tell him you were a hefalump."

Lucille narrowed he eyes at Shana. "Two things," she said sternly. "One) go get lost in the maze. Don't nother trying to come out. Two) Im serious. And i think ther's something going on with Tammy and Torin."

Shana glared at Lucille."Fine, I'll take you with me and burry you in it." She frowned. "Seriously, catch up Looby Lou. Of corse theres something going on their best friends for crying out loud!"

Lucille let out a loooooooooooooong sigh. "I mean something more. You know how you wanted them to get together and they said they wern't, well, i saw Tammy kiss him. So i think they're being sneaky. And what i wanna know is why they dont trust us enough to tell us?"

Warren stared at Lucille, Tammy and Torin.. hmm yes he knew alot about them two.. ''Something going on? Whatcha mean?'' He saw Shana and Lucille going for eachother again.. ''Oi leave it, this aint about us.. its about Tammy and Torin, so just please.. stop fighting!'' He smiled. ''Tammy and Torin.. they toegther yet?'' he asked.

Shana shook her head."Seriously. Looby Lou, Tammy and Torin know I want them together so they wont tell me cause they know ill make a big deal and Warren Torin's too scared to tell and you.. Oh well there isnt a reason they wont tell you so i guess they just dont wanna." she shrugged.

"Im not sure," Lucille answered Warren. "But don't you think it's just a little harsh that, after knowing the fuss -well, you two, i dont care, they can do what they want- made about them being together, and now things are looking that way and they havn't told us? Do you not find it just a teensy bit wrong that they're keeping secrets?"

Warren sighed. ''Maybe we got it wrong.. maybe there isn't nothing going on.. maybe there frienship is getting closer because Tammys leaving in roughly a months time.. Maybe he will miss her.. well obviously he will, we all will.. I'd love to see them get together but i think we should leave them alone for now.. and take it how it is.. who knows what will happen'' Warren smiled. He had never really been too political before..

Shana listened to Lucille."Hmm, Your starting to make sense, Lucy, I think this may be the begginging of a beautiful friendship." Okay, Okay she'd kindaa got the last bit from some muggle film but oh well."And Warren, we should leave them alone yes, You're right, But we're not going to for 2 reasons. One, Your a slytherin dude you can get what you want someway or another. Two, me you and Lucille know its what Tammy and Torin reeeeaaaaally want us to do." Yup, that sounded convincing right ?

Warren smirked. ''Shana, your totally right.. I think we should monitor the progress'' As a slytherin.. yes you could get away with murder.. He loved both Torin and Tammy, deep inside he believed/knew they would start something. ''Mmkay soo.. whats the plans?'' thats if there were any..

"Uhh plans ? oh yeah. Lucy what're the plans ?" she smirked, plans were smarty stuff right well they included writing and there were no Ravenclaws here, best leave it to the hufflepuff.

Hiding her slight scowl, Lucille nodded stiffly. "I think we should question them about it. You know, slyly. Drop a slight hint and see if they chose to tell their supposed "friends." If they do, its ok, but if they dont, we do some snooping," She let a slightly evil smile play across her mouth.

Warren carried on smirking and looked at both Shana and Lucille. ''Ok.. and what if they click that where up to something?'' He knew they would probably gather.. they wernt stupid. ''We need to see them together.. spy on them and then we pounce.. ''

Shana nodded listening to Lucille's plan."Yeahh. I think me and You should handle Tammy and Warren should take a shot at Torin, But not all at the same time, one at a time like separating days mabye even weeks." She smirked, this could be fun.

Pft.

"Nah, they wont find out," said Lucille, not being able to help herself for her next words. "Tammy'll be too busy picking shoes or deciding what colour lipstick to wear in the mirror, and Torin will be so wrapped around her finger that he wont notice either." She snorted - she still hadn't forgiven him. "But good point Warren. I still say we ask them slyly tho. And then we spy, and catch them red handed." She nodded firmly.

"Hey, thats an idea," said Lucille, nodding at Shana. "Catch 'em unawares," she said, the evil glint coming back into her eye.

Warren also nodded. ''I agree with Shana, You two tackle Tammy and ill get Torin.. I'll see if i can catch him when we go for our early jogs maybe? hmm'' Warren tried to figure out when would be the suitable time to speak to Torin. ''But yeah... we need to see them together first and spy, they must not see us or else!''

"WARREN! Your a genius! After your walks, you can spy on him, see where he goes. And Lucille you can watch them in the common room. And Im generally with them so I can see if theirs any like change of behaviour." She smirked again.
