Even the glorious spring day outside the windows couldn't hold Lena's interest at the moment, and she'd soon found herself back in her old haunt - the armor gallery. Something about the giant, creaking metal suits was oddly nice to her. She tried not to look out and see people being happy and carefree; she just couldn't bring herself to feel the same way just then. Sighing slightly, she sat down on the edge of one of the pedestals, leaned her head back against one of the metal legs behind her, and closed her green eyes in thought.

Chris was walking around the castle. He didn't want to leave....sigh. But he had to and he knew that soon he would be in America and be very happy. As he walked around the corner he walked right into the armor gallery. It was kind of creepy being in here. I mean all the armor moved. He at first didn't realize he wasn't alone at first. He walked around hand in his pockets feeling the necklace left to him. None of it made sense still. He thought about the note in his other. How he missed getting notes from her. Her hand writing, her always writing 'I love you' all of it he missed. There was no question he missed Melinda. He still didn't noticed anybody in the room as his back was to Helena and he was thinking about everything that was going on....

Helena heard someone come in, but she didn't look up immediately - she figured they would be with someone or at least acknowledge the fact that she was in there, but everything was silent. Wondering who could possibly be that deep in thought, Lena's green eyes opened and it took less than a few seconds to realize that the seventh year with his back to her was actually her boyfriend. She blinked once, but she was otherwise unsurprised to find him silent - at least she realized why he hadn't said anything. Not wanting to frighten him, Helena smiled to herself and leaned her head back quietly once more before giving a little cough.

Was that a cough? What the heck? Somebody had to be in there with Chris. Either it was somebody he knew or just somebody trying to be nice and not scare him. He didn't turn around right away. Once he turned around it would mean he would have to talk and he didn't want to talk to anybody....He then after a minute or least he turned around to find Lena??? A small smile played on his face as he fully turned around. "Long time no see." He told her.

Lena let her face break into a smile as she stood up and walked over to where Chris was saying, stopping a few feet in front of him, looking up at him. Mhmm, she agreed, not allowing her smile to become any wider just yet. What have you been up to, Mr. Kaplan? she asked, letting her smile widen just slightly as she spoke his name.

Chris watched Lena come over to him. He smiled and leaned back on the wall behind him. He then shrugged slightly to her question. "Thinking mostly." He said to her. "And getting ready for exams I guess. What about you?" He asked her. He smiled back to her though his hand still in his pocket. It was wrapped around the necklace not wanting to let go just yet.

Lena mocked his shrug and then leaned casually against one of the suits of amour beside her barely concealing a grin. Pretty much the same without all of the same pressures I guess, she said, deciding at the last moment not to stick her tongue out as she so wanted to, trying to make today the day.

Chris grinned. "Yes I guess you don't have that pressure this term." He told her. He looked at her for a bit. Right into those eyes. Sighhhh. He was going to tell Lena. There was no way that he was just going to be able to not tell her. "Lena." He started as he straighted up again and took a step forward not looking at her this time. "I got this letter. It's weird though. It's a letter from Melinda. Nick said it just randomly showed up in the box she gave me. I just don't understand what is going on. Why is this happening?" He said walking over to a window near by and looked out it.

Lena chuckled slightly - this term was right; next term would be a whole different ball game, that was for sure. But as Chris said her name, Lena looked back up at him and his change in tone and saw that he wasn't looking at her. She held her breath without thinking about it--- what was he going to say?

When he went on to tell her, though, Lena only barely let out her breath; it wasn't what she was expecting, but it was still pretty upsetting to him - obviously. At his question, Helena walked over to where he was and laid a gentle hand on his arm. I don't know, she said honestly, glad that her voice was steady while her thoughts were not, But we're going to find out Chris. She couldn't promise how soon, but this was hurting him and she would help him find out what was going on.

Miles laughed and shook his head, "Why would you like doing that?" He pulled on one of the suits of armour but found they were really heavy. "Well duh..." he said sarcastically to her question. Turning toward her fully he looked at her and then down at the box in her hand. "I...you didn't need to get me anything. I was just being your friend. That's what friends are for." Taking the box as she handed it to him he opened it to find a watch, a rather nice one too. "Brody I..." Looking at he smiled resigned that yes she had gotten him something and yes he would need to lie to Fia cause she wouldn't be happy. "Thanks."

"Because I'm mean." Brody giggled, with a grin. Well she wasn't that mean but still. She smirked as she watched him try to move the armor. "Two heavy?" She giggled, whilst twisting a strand of hair around her finger.
"I did." Brody nodded, with a smile. She had wanted to thank him, and that means she was going to thank him. "You were more of a friend than some of my other friends were." She sighed, looking up at him. He was one of her closest friends now. "It's fine."

Chris felt Lena's gental hand on his arm. He sighed when she said 'we'. "I don't know if you can help. I don't know how dangerous this is. You don't know about Mel's past like I do." He told her as he turned and looked at Lena. "I just don't get it. How can all this still happen if she....she's dead?" He whispered the last part. Chris still didn't like saying this out loud. He then hugged Lena close to his chest and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry this has nothing to do with you. I shouldn't have even mentioned it to you." He said softly still holding her.

Lena's hand eased up as he turned around; of course she couldn't help - how stupid was she? Did she honestly think Chris would want her meddling into Mel's past? When she heard him whisper that word, though, she saw the pain in his eyes a mere moment before he pulled her tightly against him, hugging her to his chest. She exhaled the breath she'd been holding in. Don't be sorry at all, she assured him, And if this is something you need to work out just you.... that's fine, too, just.... know I'm right here if you need me. Lena couldn't find it in herself to say much more than that, for her near-silent fears that she had discussed with Nikki were coming back.

"It's not that I don't want you to help. It's I don't know how much you can." Chris said. He then let go of Lena. But then he just exploded. "Why? Why is this happening? Why can't she just get out of my head. She's in my dreams and then this. It was fine for a couple of months. Grahhhh!" That's all he could say. He loved Melinda. But it was kind of different now. He liked Lena a lot! And he didn't want anything to come between them. Chris slid down and sat on the floor. "This sucks." He said quietly.

Lena nodded; she didn't expect as much, but she believed him. As Chris let go, she opened her mouth to say something when he just exploded and she took a step back, her eyes suddenly a dark chocolate brown, her thought process shocked at what he was saying. That was so unlike him.

Lena swallowed and took a deep breath as Chris slid down to sit on the floor, and she calmly walked back over to him and knelt in front of him, feeling an odd sense of deja vu that had nothing to do with Chris himself. I don't know why whatever is happening is, Chris, but.... maybe it means something. As much as it was so terrifying to hear Chris talk about getting Mel out of his head, the way he was talking about dreams and what had happened with the box in his kitchen made her wonder....

Chris had his head turned when Lena first started to talk to him. But he then looked at her again. Mean something like what??? He took a deep breath and sighed. He didn't feel like he could talk at the moment with out yelling and he would hate himself if he yelled at Helena. "It probably does." He said after a few moments. "But I just don't want this. It's weird and confusing. I just don't understand it." He said. "It's bad enough that I have all of the memories of her, and all the ones she gave me. But then she's in my dream and there odd." Chris said. "How do you not hate me yet?" Chris asked.

Helena was shaking her head before Chris finished, but she stopped and looked up at him when he asked how she didn't hate him -- what on earth was he talking about? First of all, you should be happy that you have those memories - hers and yours - because you need them, Chris. As confusing as they may be and hard to think about right now, there will come a time when you are happy you have them. Trust me on that, she added the last part rather quietly. After Mel had died.... Lena had a new perspective on things, and with Chris leaving for America after term, even having her party-going parents who barely cared for her would have been nice. And as for hating you-- she paused to take a deep breath and repress a shudder at the thought --I could never hate you. Especially not when you're like this.... The last part came out as a whisper, her eyes reassessing the situation and taking in its magnitude once more. It hurt her so much to see him like this.

What was going on in Chris's head. Why was all this weird stuff coming out. He didn't know. He took Lena's hand and leaned in much closer to her and kissed her lips quickly and softly. Once pulled back he looked at her. "I know it's good that I have those memories." He said told with a small smile. "I don't know what I'm saying my brain is just freaking out. This note took me by suprise. I'm no suppose to be getting letters from her anymore. But this one was written way before anything happened." He commented. Chris was now much calmer then before and was starting to think straight again sort of...

"Lena. I know you couldn't ever hate me because I couldn't ever hate you. You have just been amazing through this whole thing. You are just perfect sometimes." He said smiling wide. "And I do really care about you more than you will ever know." Chris said.

Lena smiled slightly as Chris took her hand, but she was taken aback as he kissed her briefly. Her eyes slowly began returning to green as he pulled back and looked at her. It might have been bewitched, she said quietly.... thoughtfully. When he used the words 'amazing' and 'perfect' to describe her, though, Lena blushed and looked down from his gaze, not looking back up until she was sure he was finished speaking. She was smiling once more, the tint fading from her cheeks. I'm nowhere near perfect, she said with a small chuckle before adding, But I will be here for you no matter what. That's a promise. Still keeping a hold of his hand in hers, she hugged him with her other arm.

Chris nodded at Helena's statement. "True it could have been bewitched. Before I leave I'm going to take look at her memories maybe there is a clue in them or something." He told her. "I'm so sorry about just blowing up before. And all the other things I've done. It's not fair to you and I promise I won't do that anymore." He told her and actually smiled towards her.

But awwww she was blushing....Chris chuckled. "Hmmmm I think you are pretty perfect myself. Or at least you are perfect for me." He told her. He then felt that one arm hug of hers. He hugged her back and nodded. "I'm always here too." He said smiling."Sooooo besides here about all my drama how have you been?" He asked and kissed her cheek.

You have good reason to, Lena mumbled, her face still pressed tightly against his chest before she pulled back from the hug slightly; she didn't want Chris feeling bad - obviously these things would take time, but it was true that she didn't much like him yelling a lot so she didn't tell him it wasn't necessary to cut that part out. At his words, much of her blush reappeared, but she didn't look away this time. Instead she gave him a weak smile before chuckling at his question and him kissing her cheek. I've been.... good, she said with a small sigh, remembering that she hadn't really got a chance to talk talk with Chris since before three nights ago in the common room. Well, better start of the story with that right. Blake and I are okay now, she added to what would probably just be the beginning.

Chris could barely hear what Lena said as she had her head pressed against his chest. Though he made it out. "I guess I sort of have a good reason. Though I shouldn't yell at you. I don't want to do that anymore. It isn't your fault and there is no good reason for that." He told her as he to pulled back from her hug. It just wasn't fair to always have a crazy person yelling at you....

Ohhh of course when he asked how she was Blake comes up. Sighhhh. Chris actually was going to remain calm. He nodded to Helena. "That's good." He said to her. Awwww was Blake now taking his place as her best friend??? Well he was her boyfriend now. "You seemed pretty upset about the whole thing with Blake before."

Lena nodded, not wanting to say anymore on the subject because she didn't want Chris feeling bad.... again. Yeah, I was pretty upset before.... but it's alright now. We're back to-- she hesitated, about to say 'normal' but when 'normal' meant liking each other, she knew it wasn't true. We're close friends. She shrugged slightly, hoping Chris would know it was the truth and giving him a small reassuring smile.

They were back to what??? What was she about to say. But Lena had stopped saying it. Chris wrinkled his eyebrows at her slightly. "Ummmm yeah I know you are close with him. That's good so you have somebody for next term to be with." Chris said. But then he thought about it. Wellll he kind of meant as friends. Like Helena and Blake just be friends but if that wasn't what happened what could he do?

Lena's face stayed impassive as he wrinkled his eyebrows at her; oh gosh now he was going to think she meant something else.... she refrained from sighing and instead gave him a small smile and nodded at his words. Yeah, it would have completely sucked if I had no one all term. The floor wasn't doing her knees so well, so she slid into a more comfortable sitting position after she finished speaking, still smiling very slightly and not even thinking about how Chris phrased what he said. Despite everything that had happened, Chris was still all she could focus on when she was with him.
