Ella smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand. "Ohhh..." She needed tutoring, or needed to pay attention harder. She didn't want to look stupid, which she think she did. UGGGGH. Please, magic enter my brain and make me smarter. Oh, yeah, like that was going to work. Then, Ella felt a lightbulb illuminate her brain... Ack, just kidding. It was just the smack of Jake's chair that gave her purple images in her head. She doubled over in laughter, then quickly shut up. No more points from Gryffie. Not now. |

Professor Shackleton began writing quickly upon the board. She printed first her first name and then wrote their numerical equivalents below. Quote:
"Now obviously, I'm still here so I didn't die at age 37 just because my name ran out of letters. Instead, the cycle began again, starting at the first letter of my first name and repeating through the cycle." Macadrian added a chart to the board: Quote:
Shortly after finishing her request, Macadrian heard a loud bang and turned to see Jake getting up off the ground. Hmmm. Wonder how that happened... I hope he's not drifting off to sleep already. He seems alright and I bet he's awake now if he wasn't before. |
Jack watched, as if in slow motion, as the young Huffie went over backwards. After figuring out that the lad was okay, Jack had an urge to laugh, but knew that wouldn't be very nice. Best stay on subject. |
miss were mine right i did mine awhile back?!, james said wondering why miss had ignored his wor(k! ooc: page 9) |

Told ya so. |
Tiberius grinned when they were told to figure out the lengths of time for their names. He realized, though, that he'd only get through a few letters since he was only 11. Jotting the request down quickly, his looked over his parchment again. Quote:

Sloane checked the board and began to fill in her name. S-1 L-3 (2-4) O-6 (5-10) A-1 (11) N- E- She stopped at her current age as requested. This wasn't as bad as she thought it was. |
Kiri bent her head in ferocious calculation and started scribbling away in her notebook. She checked her Arithmancy textbook for reference. K... two... I and R... nine... And she was fourteen years old, which meant... She jotted down a few more numbers. Quote:
She drew a circle around the letter, then put her quill aside. She wondered what that letter would mean for her. |
Wow. Jack was on his third time through his name and several hadn't gone through theirs once, yet. Bizarre. |
Everything was starting to make sense. Thank God. Now Ella felt better. "Is this it?" E-4 L-3 L-3 A-1 ♥ Ella drew a little heart next to the Physical Transit she was in. She didn't even have to repeat. "It only goes up to nine, right?" she asked nobody in particular, hoping they would understand the question. "I'm eleven." |

Evelyn was staring blankly up at the ceiling trying while waiting for the professor to show the demonstration with her name when she heard a loud noise, startling her and making her bang her knees against the desk. "Ow." she mumbled, rubbing her now sore knees. Stretching her neck to see what the noise was, she heard a boy saying he dropped his pen, no, quill on the ground. 'Nice save...' she thought sarcastically, and then looked down at her textbook and started reading, trying to figure out what all these numbers and names meant. She didn't have to read long before the professor started her demonstration. After the professor spoke, something finally clicked in her mind and she understood right away. "Alright!" Evelyn whispered to herself and started working on her own name. E V E L Y N 5 4 5 3 7 5 After figuring out her own numbers, she looked up at the professors name to see how to finish it. age E, 0-5, V, 5-9, E, 9-14, L, Y, N, "There we go..." she mumbled to herself as she finished writing, wearing a satisfied smile. |
Jack sighed. Why was his name so short? He wanted a cool LONG name so that a lot of exciting things could happen to him with all those awesome letters! He wrote it out once...twice...he was almost through his third cycle! GEEZ! Quote:

Iris ... So, I is 9 .... R is 9 as well ... I is 9 ... and S is 1 .... So ... My transit Cylce number thing is going to be R for nearly ALL of my school life? ... Cool ... I hope. Iris wrote this down. Iris looked down at her chart thing ... Wow, I'm gonna be OOLLLD before my name repeats on the chart ... She looked over to Fallon and Aaron, to see if they understood the task. |
Smiling lightly, Tammy set about adjusting her notebook and textbook so that she could see the two and write in her notebook. Consulting her textbook every little while, just making sure she was on the right track she smiled, and set about working. Quote:

With the boy next to her off the floor and no longer leaning over towards her, LouAnn focused all her attention on the instructions the professor was giving them. Little by little, LouAnn began to piece together this mystery known as Physical Transit. It'd take a lot of work to get it all down pat, but at least she was confident that she had a good starting point. Alright, time to get started with her own Physical Transit. At least her first name was only six letters long, so it wouldn't take her forever to get everything down on paper. Besides, she only had to keep going until she reached her current age, which was fifteen. She flipped back and forth between the two chapters they were discussing, then began her work. ______0-3; L; 3 years ______3-9; O; 6 years _____9-12; U; 3 years ____12-13; A; 1 year 13-present; N; 5 years, ending at age 18 (currently 15). Current Physical Transit = N |
ARABELLE 19125335 Was that right? Arabelle checked her book and the professor's work again. It looked right. But her head was so fuzzy it was hard to concentrate. ...Wait. Were they supposed to do their whole names or stop at their current age? Arabelle let out a little sigh. Her brain hurt. |
Noticing that MacShack had picked up on the fall, but said nothing, Jake thanked his lucky stars. Another quick glance at LouAnn and Jake saw her next message, making him supress a giggle. So, noticing others were beginning to write stuff down, Jake stared at his parchment and held his quill over it, poised to write. And he stared. Because he hadn't been paying any attention, Jake had even LESS of a clue about what he was doing. So... he continued to stare down at the parchment, maybe nick someone's notes a little later. |
Tavelon started writing out his name, referencing the chart in his textbook. Things were starting to make sense, at least on a certain level. He still wasn't quite sure how magic associated with numbers. But then again, that's what the class would teach. Quote:

Blink. Blink. Blink blink blink. SUPER BLINK. Uh...whoa. Where the heck did she get those numbers? Ages? Division? WHAT?! Lucy scrambled through her notes, and attempted to decipher what Professor Shackleton meant. Seriously, though...WHAT?!?! She practically dove into her notes and stared carefully at the numbers, her face literally an inch away from the parchment. She sat back up, and took a deep breath. Mmmkay. This wasn't making much sense right now, and it was at that point when Lucy realized this wasn't easy work anymore. She wrote her name down like so: Quote:
SPOILER!!: Textbook Uhhh...no numbers there. But it was nice to know what her letters stood for. Numbers, numbers, numbers...She casually glanced at the papers of other students, hoping to catch a hint, a clue, SOMETHING, to help her out...Oh, boy, this was hurting her head. Quote:

Virgi finally got it. "Oh," Virgi whispered and started to fill her name in. V- I- R- G- I- N- I- A- Then she went back and filled the numbers in. V-4 (0-4) I-9 (4-13) "Well, here is my stop," she thought. R- G- I- N- I- A- Virgi took another piece of parchment out and jotted it down for fun to see how long her name would last her. V-4 (0-4) I-9 (4-13) R-9 (13-22) G-7 (22-29) I-9 (29-38) N-5 (38-43) I-9 (43-52) A-1 (52-53) "Wow," Virgi thought. |
Damon was rather confused at how this next task was done but hoping he might get somewhere he made an attempt at it Quote:

Laura nodded a few times, before looking down at her text book. I can do this! were her thoughts, as she pulled out a quill. Quote:
Hmm. She pondered, then peered in the textbook for the descriptions. SPOILER!!: Textbook Descriptions She didn't see the need in repeating A, and so just read over the results, concentrating on R particularly. She scoffed mentally as she read U, though. Not once in her life had she been 'Glamorous'. But R sound like her. A Lot. Especially at the moment. |
Matheu did what he was told. He somewhat followed Professor Shackleton. But he learned better by application. M 0-4 (4) A 4-5 (1) T 5-7 (2) H 7-16 (8) E 16-21 (5) U 21-24 (3) During the years that H has listed, Matheu's best characteristic is 8. Authority, finances, business, success, material wealth, organization, self-mastery The only one he was excited about was the self-mastery. Economics was not his favorite. |
