"Hi LouAnn." Celandine flopped down in the seat next to the Gryffindor girl and gave her a bright grin. Cela was tired but obviously pleased with herself.

She didn't even notice the bags of candy.

Upon hearing her name, LouAnn sat up a little straighter in her seat and glanced over at Cela. The Ravenclaw girl had just taken the seat right next to LouAnn, a decision that made LouAnn quite happy considering how horrible she tended to be at Runes and how intelligent Cela seemed to be. "Oh, hey, Cela! Boy am I glad to have you sitting there. I'm a little...well, not good at this Runes stuff. Arithmancy I can pretty much handle, though," she said, laughing just a little at her own downfalls.

Lorcan frowned, there was something about the girl, he was sure he knew her. "Maybe we bumped into each other in Diagon Alley..." Even as he was saying the words he remembered her. She was the brat in the robe shop who had been demanding to be served. Well he would have to avoid being too friendly, he didn't want anything to do with anyone like that. he then realised that Kay and the girl were friends. Oh brilliant he thought another reason for Kay to get upset. "Or maybe you remind me of someone else." he said, perhaps a little coldly.

"Not much just a whole lot of homework." Kay said smiling.

Kay heard Lorcan say hi to Abigail. But he had a look of someone trying to remember something. "Is everything ok?" Kay asked them.

Alexandra looked around the room a bit and sighed waiting for Professor Lupa to start the class. She started to rummage through her bag and pulled out a sugar quill and began sucking on the end of it. Huh, I guess some good did come from playing 007 yesterday.

She listened as his voice became cold and realised that he had remembered her. ‘What’s his problem, it’s not like I didn’t apologise to him and the shop keeper! I don’t normally act like that...I’d just been stressed.’ Keeping the smile on her face she just shrugged her shoulders “Maybe I was a bit all over the place at Diagon...being on my own with only a day to get everything.”

Abigail gave a small laugh “Tell me about it, I still haven’t finished my Care of Magical creatures homework.”

Lorcan wriggled away from Kay, laughing. "They're in my trunk, not my pocket!"

Lorcan waved at Alexandra again, trying to get her attention, but she seemed more interested in her Sugar Quill.

"It's fine" Lorcan said in what he hoped was a light voice which didn't betray his true feelings.

"No, I don't think I saw you that day." Lorcan wasn't going to get involved with this girl, not now she had confirmed who she was.

Alexandra waved back at Lorcan and gave a sugar sweet smile.

'Must have thought he knew her.' Kay thought to herself.

Breathing harshly through his nose, Jake turned to the other students in the glass who were talking (and he noted the few Hufflepuffs). Clearing his throat loudly, he gave them a kind of shut-up-now-because-you're-all-actually-dead-annoying kind of glare, wondering if they even read any class rules.

In fact, he couldn't quite stop himself. "Yeah... shut up, maybe?" he said, quite abruptly, not caring if he was sounding rude. He was in a bad mood about sitting at the front and now they were giving him a headache, and Lupa was probably going to lecture them (or maybe not) and that would be more pointless noise.

"After dinner maybe, I wouldn't want to ruin your appetite" He wanted to talk to Alexandra after this class, and he had a feeling that Kay wouldn't like it.

He realised that Kay was waving too. That's nice of her he thought.

"I'm sure" he said firmly, hoping to make it clear that he matter was closed.


Now that he had her attention he mouthed "Meet my by the suits of Armor, after this" He really wanted to talk to her and make sure that she was still his friend.

"Hello everyone," Alessia said, "Just a few more minutes, and then we'll begin."

Professor Shackleton entered the room purposefully, but with a look of slight confusion and deep thought upon her face. She'd spent the last two hours looking for her wand and she couldn't find the thing anywhere! A witch without a wand was like a quill with no ink - pretty useless. How frustrating it was to think she'd misplaced one of her most valuable possessions!

She made a beeline for Alessia, murmuring softly to her, "Sorry, I'm a bit late. I seem to have lost track of the location of my wand." Her lower lip stuck out in a slight pout. "But I suppose I can't worry about that now. We have a class to teach. Would you like to give the introduction or shall I?"

Chris looked up happily as Porfessor Shackleton walked in. He smiled and waved to her, but his smile fell slightly as she was visibly dustressed over something. He wondered what it was. But it wasn't his business.

"Your wand?" Alessia said frowning, "That's odd... Nurse Melita misplaced hers as well..." She said "No matter... Introduction... why don't you do the honors, the idea was yours, after all. I'll chime in if need be." She said smiling wide at the newly married woman.

Abigail turned her back on Lorcan and Kay when Professor Shackleton entered the room looking a bit distracted. She obviously wasn’t welcome when Lorcan was around, which had she not apologised to him she would completely understand, but as it was he was acting like the brat he accused her of being back in the robe shop. She could only hope that Kay didn’t stop being her friend because of Larcan’s clear dislike for her.

Matheu was attracted to the thought of Ancient Runes and Arithmancy joined. He never considered it, but it makes sense. He's read the text, so he's covered. Just how far with the Ancient Runes attachment? He would do well no doubt. He took a desk and got out both Ancient Rune volumes and Arithmancy volumes.

Macadrian nodded to Less with a smile and then turned her attention upon the class, "Greetings students! I assume you're all probably curious about exactly why Professor Lupa and I are both here and what we have in store for you. Well, we are here to show you how Arithmancy and Ancient Runes are connected - how both can reveal a great deal about events to come, attributes of those people around you, and most importantly, at least in my opinion, one's true inner self.

"Both subjects offer different, yet related, methods for self-evaluation and today, Professor Lupa and I seek to show you that relationship." Macadrian paused, figuring some of what she just said probably only confused people more, but they'd figure it out as soon as the lesson got underway.

In his excitement Carter began writing the Professor's words word-for-word on his parchment. Not a very effective way to take notes, but Carter was that excited. He liked arithmancy and found ancient runes very interesting. So the two of them together was going to be good.

Alessia nodded. "Indeed we do, and we'll be using the Rowling runes, as they lend themselves easily to this." She said drawing the new runes on the board. "We will need you to pay extra close attention as you will be graded twice on whatever you say."

Having zoned out a leeeeettle bit, Jake blinked at both professors, the whoosh of what they both said going over his head practically audible. "Riiiiiiiiight," he murmured, looking between the two.

Cela had her hand raised, already eager. "That sounds super fun professors, when we did the Rowling runes? I was kind of thinking about Arithmancy meanings then? Especially with zero. Is that the sort of relationship you mean? Since there are Rowling runes for the numbers one through nine as well as zero..."

Eager eager eager!

Celandine bounced in excitement.

Kay listen to the professors as they started to talk about the class. Kay saw Lorcan lean to his right a little and was talking to someone. Kay knew who he was talking to, but, didn't say a word. Kay wasn't going to start anything. She just wanted it all to go away. Kay turn to Lorcan, "the professors are talking" she said as she looked at him and than Alexandra.

Crikey, he thought, I'm catching it on all sides today. He frowned at Kay, he had finshed talking before the professors started. He had a suspicion that she just didn't want him to talk to Alexandra.

He looked at the back of Abigail's head. She seemed put out that he had pretended not to know her, and he felt the thrill of uncharactisticly vindictive pleasure warm his stomach. She's just mad because I know what she's really like, he thought to himself.

He listened closely to the professors, wondering if he would actually understand any of the lesson. He was certainly going to have to work hard.

Chris looked at the two Professors excitedly. He couldn't wait to start this lesson. He loved to figure out things about the future, and meaings of people's personality and things of that nature!
