Evelyn shook her head when Jake started to laugh...actually LAUGH! 'Is he insane?!!' she thought, staring in disbelief.

Evelyn saw him pull out his wand, making her heart stop for a second. Mouth agape and confused for a moment, she suddenly became angry and slightly...protective i guess you could say. Standing up slightly out of her seat, she grabbed her own wand out of her bag, holding it beneath the table so no one could see it. Well Destiny probably could've seen, but she wasn't focusing on the other girl. She was watching Jake's every movement. If he even raises his wand towards one of the professors...

But he didn't. In fact, she saw him drop it. Glaring at the boy, she sat back down, holding her wand in her lap, just in case she needed it for something, and listened to the professor talk to the foolish kid. 'What is going on with this school?' She's seen a lot of weird things happen, but this one felt different. 'And now he's agreeing with her? What's up...'

Kaytone 10-17-2009 11:15 PM

Kay sat there watching the exchange between the Jake kid and the Professor. What was that kid doing. Kay watched as she saw Evelyn pull her wand out of her bag. Kay looked around the room to find out why and saw the Jake kid had is wand out as well. 'what are they doing.' Kay thought. 'This is a classroom for goodness.' Why was everyday turning into something weird when it came to Kay life.

LouAnn had intended to answer Professor Lupa's question ages ago, but then...chaos happened and everything seemed to go downhill from there. Of course Jake was involved---why wouldn't he be? After all, it was chaotic not calm in the classroom. Would anything involving Jake be any other way? In a way, though, LouAnn found his behavior kind of funny. He was, after all, one of her best friends, so she'd never ever look down on him for anything at all. She knew, too, that he was taking everything said to him with a tiny grain of salt. Silly, silly, Jake.

There had been a question asked, though, right? LouAnn honestly couldn't remember what the question was, though. What is Ancient Runes? or... What are the magical properties of the number seven? Umm, great. Oh, yeah!! LouAnn quickly raised her hand. "Umm...because well, maybe you can connect the Transit letters with the corresponding Rune letters. For example, if your Transits are I, A, and P, you could also see what Isa, Ansuz, and Perthro say for you, too," she suggested.

lemondrop13 10-17-2009 11:26 PM

Deep breaths. In and out. Thatta girl. Okay. I'm calm. I'm cool. I'm collected. Deep breaths. Right. Now get back to teaching. The other students shouldn't have to suffer because of this interruption.

Professor Shackleton-Clark turned her attention back to the class as a whole and tried to move them past this, "Okay class, we left off discussing the connection between runes and numbers. I think you've all considered their relationship enough - now it is time for an example. I'd like everyone to start by writing out their first name on their parchment and assigning the corresponding number to each letter, according to the Pythagorean number chart found in your textbook. Please stop there once you've done that."

Carter did as he was told.
C- 3

Once he was finished he looked up at the Professor.

Anna Banana 10-17-2009 11:32 PM

Oh, now this was something LouAnn could easily do---assigning number to letters was easy, especially considering all she had to do was glance in her textbook to see which number to write down.

L o u A n n
3 6 3 1 5 5

There now. All done! Now what would happen next would probably be where LouAnn would run into problems. She glanced over at Jake to see if maybe he'd calmed down just a little, even thought she doubted he had.

Felixir 10-17-2009 11:36 PM

Carefully avoiding looking at Professor Shackleton-Clark, Jake picked up his self-inking quill and wrote out his first name on the parchment, biting down hard on his lip. He'd have to be amazingly GOOD now to get out of MacShack's bad books.

Darnit.

He found the appropriate chart found in his textbook and gazed at it for a few moments, thinking... thinking...

Then actually working.

J A C O B

Once again, as he usually did in this class, Jake leaned over to try and look at a neughbour's p[archment... juuuust to see if he'd done it right.

Despite the fact that not of his neighbours were likely to have the name 'Jacob'.

Roselyn 10-17-2009 11:36 PM

Putting her wand in her left hand, Evelyn bent down to take out her textbook, a piece of parchment, and her quill and ink. Frowning, she set to do what the professor asked, glancing every now and then to Jake.

E v e l y n
5 4 5 3 7 5

Setting her quill down, she glanced over at Destiny to see what she was doing.

Destiny 10-17-2009 11:37 PM

Destiny quickly pulled out a piece of parchment and her quill.

Copernicus nodded and began to sketch out the corresponding numbers to his first name.

C - 3

WHY did his mother give him such a long name??

Tommy'sGirl4ever 10-17-2009 11:52 PM

After holding back his laughter at the Jake kids actions, he just shrugged it off and pull out some parchment and began to write his name;

A U D I O
1 3 4 9 6

He saw Rose waving at him when he was looking around out of boredom,he also waved back and smiled at her. He, then, wanted to get back into his imaginary world when this Jake boy interrupted setting a tense air on the whole class by annoying the professors. 'What an idiot!' he thought. He just kept yawning at his attention seeking nonsense and did not attemp to move when he happened to threaten the teacher since it was just words. Josh was sure that Hufflepuff boy had no nerves to attack a professor. That was ridiculous.

He sat straight when he understood that they were finally up to something. 'First name with corresponding numbers, quite easy'. He took a piece of parchment and his red phoenix feather quill out his bag to take his notes.

Upon hearing the instructions from the Arithmancy teacher Fred took out his parchment and wrote:

Quote:

D: 4

Walrus 10-18-2009 12:07 AM

Jacoby did as he was told, opening his book and starting:

J A C O B Y
1 1 3 6 2 7

He finished putting down his quill and waiting paicently.

Cela wrote her numbers down and shot a worried look at Jake. She returned her attention to Professor Shackleton and offered a bright smile. It was okay now, right?

PadfootAndTheWolf 10-18-2009 12:18 AM

Chris listened to the instructions and then wrote his name with the right numbers underneath it, on his parchment:

Quote:

O 6
P 7

Herminny sighed as she heard Jake say something stupid yet again and she thought, 'When wikk that boy ever learn'. She put that behind her as she heard the next set of instructions from the Arithmancy professor and took out her parchment and did the task at hand:

Quote:

H: 8
E: 5
R: 9
M:4
I: 9
N:5
N:5
Y:7

lemondrop13 10-18-2009 12:50 AM

Shackleton-Clark wandered the aisles, observing the students' work, trying to keep her breathing level and not think about Jake's odd behavior. "Okay, it seems like most of you have gotten that step down, so now I'd like you all to add those numbers together and reduce to a single digit number. If you're unsure how to reduce, feel free to quietly ask a classmate or me."

PadfootAndTheWolf 10-18-2009 12:52 AM

Chris nodded as Professor Shakleton-Clark said to do the next step, adding together all the numbers and reduceing them to a single number.

Quote:

Christopher

6+7=13
1+3=

Destiny 10-18-2009 12:55 AM

Destiny listened to the professors instructions.

D-4
E-5
S-1
T-2
I-9
N-5
Y-7

4+5+1+2+9+5+7=33
3+3=6

Destiny turned around to Evelyn and jokingly covered her parchment. 'No cheating' she whispered.

Roselyn 10-18-2009 01:03 AM

Evelyn looked up when the professor passed her and went on to the next aisle, and did what the professor said to do.

E - 5
V - 4
E - 5
L - 3
Y - 7
N - 5

= 29
2 + 9
= 11
1 +1
= 2

She looked at Destiny confused for a moment when she said 'no cheating', before breaking into a smile, chuckling. "I'll try not to. I never knew our names were so close to one another." she whispered back, shaking her head somewhat.

Celandine finished her working pretty quickly since she'd done it a long time ago and only needed to flip backwards in her arithmancy journal to check it.

He tallied the numbers, finding it easy since he'd already listed them in a single column. Hmm.
