Audio sat up in his seat, dropping the bag of treats in front of him- still unopened or anything and looked up at the two professors. Inner-self, eh? This should be interesting. He wasn't even sure about his 'inner-self', so how could a class? He ran a hand absently through his hair and leaned forward, resting his chin in his palm and keeping his attention up front. |
Sasori stopped looking around the room and focused her attention on the runes the professor was writing on the board, balancing the bag of sweets on the desk. She popped a second one in her mouth as she pulled up her excessively long brown hair. She wanted to cut it, but her godmother would be devastated. She quickly shook her head and focused on the teacher again. She loved Arithmancy, but Ancient Runes was not her best subject. She carefully dipped her quill in her ink and wrote down what the Ancient Runes professor-what was her name again?-was writing on the board. She hoped she would understand the lesson. |

Right after that the lesson started and Reid made sure to pay full attention to what the Professor was saying. It wouldn't do to not listen to the introduction of what was sure to be a very interesting, if somewhat difficult-because of the whole Runes thing- lesson. |
Something told her this class was going to be even more focused on the interpretation aspect of Arithmancy, and not only just because now they were incorporating Runes. Either way, Adrienne had a feeling she was going to understand things even less than usual. Why couldn't it be Arithmancy and Divination?, she thought, writing down what Professor Shackleton said, then some quick notes about the runes Professor Lupa pointed out. She was at least going to try and participate in this class, even if she thought she sounded stupid. She was a Ravenclaw, and she couldn't back down. |

Arianna listened. That was odd, both professors were gona teach the lesson? And what was that she heard, another person had lost his wand? First the groundkeeper, then the nurse, now a professor? She remembered how she surprised the groundkeeper on his knees looking for it around the maze. She chuckled and shrugged lightly, not giving it her proper attention and awaited to hear more about the lesson, she was curious. |

And there was Shackleton... Wait, what? Lost her wand? Rachel raised her eyebrows, slightly disbelieving. It was very unlike teachers to lose their wand. . . It was something teachers would scold students if they had done it. Weird... Eh, well. She'll probably find it later under her pillow or something. All Rachel should be currently interested in was "how Arithmancy and Ancient Runes are connected - how both can reveal a great deal about events to come, attributes of those people around you, and most importantly one's true inner self" - as Professor Shackleton stated so well. |
Evelyn looked over to the doors when Professor Shackleton came in. She noticed the professor didn't look all that great; frustrated and confused, walking quickly to Professor Lupa and whispering something to her. 'Wonder what's wrong.' she thought, glancing at Destiny for a split second. But, she didn't have to wait for long since professor Lupa spoke a little bit louder than prof. Shackleton had. 'Wand? What happened to her wand?' Frowning even more, Evelyn leaned forward on the desk, turning her head slightly to the side, trying to hear better, but gave up when the professor started to speak to the class anyway. Something about inner truth...self...important...something...relationshi p. Something. 'Rowling runes.' she thought, staring at professor Lupa. 'What Runes did we use last time again?' Raising an eyebrow, Evelyn leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms, staring up at the ceiling, and drowning out the professors' talk. She was always confused in the beginning so it was practically pointless to be listening anyway. Maybe if she tuned in in a couple minutes, they would be at the part where it actually made sense and mattered. She did catch one snippet though. 'Graded twice? Just what we needed. As if it wasn't hard and stressing enough to get it right for one person.' |

"Morning Professor Lupa!" Nikki smiled as she walked in, peering around her textbooks. Just as she got to her seat, she managed to trip and drop everything. The first year just kind of stared at her stuff, then sighed before cleaning the mess up. 'How annoying...and embarassing, too...' She noticed the lollies, and saw everyone else eating theirs. The brunette glanced at them, gave them a poke, and contemplated eating them, but decided she would leave them for the time being. Instead, she organised her quills and parchment, and flicked through the notes she'd made in previous classes. The class started when Professor Shackleton walked in, and introduced, somewhat vaguely, what they would be doing today. Nikki frowned a bit, and chewed on her bottom lip. She jotted down a few notes, and almost knocked over her ink well when she heard they would be graded twice on everything they did. Her brown eyes widened, and she felt like hitting her forehead. "Oh Merlin.." She whispered under her breath...She struggled a bit in both of these classess. And now she had to do well in both of them?? At the same time?!? Nikki was a bit confused as to what the Professor was on about, but she'd pick it up along the way, right? Right?!? She groaned quietly, and decided now would be a good time to slowly start munching the lollies... |
"Alrighty, lets start class." She said with a nod and shut the door. "Let's do a little review. Can anyone tell me the Rowling Runes and their corresponding numbers?" ooc: Anyone walking in now is late. Please RP yourself already in the class. Pretend you've been sitting there all along. |
"Zero is th-" Jake started before quickly stopping himself and raising his hand. "Zero is th' demiguise thing..." he tried, not mentioning anymore because, to be honest, he had forgotten them all, 'cept perhaps that one. |

"Their are...ten...Rowling Runes, i think. Demiguise represents zero, the Unicorn for one, a Graphorn for two, the Runespoor for three, a Fwooper for four, a..." she paused for a moment, trying to remember the fifth rune. 'That crabby looking thing...Oh!' "Umm, i think it was called a Quin...Quintab...Quintaped...Quintaped! Quintaped for five." she smiled sheepishly up at the Professor before continuing. "Then a Salamander for the sixth rune, the 'Unknown' thing for the seventh, an Acromantula *shiver* for eight, and the... Hydra for nine." Finally finishing, and smiling widely, Evelyn took a deep breathe, and relaxed in her seat. She couldn't believe she remembered all of those. |
Kay put her hand up to answer the question. "Professor there is ten Rowling Runes. Zero is Demiquise, one is Unicorn, two is Graphorn, three is Runespoor, four is Fwooper, five is Quintaped, mmmm six is Salamander, seven is unknown, the eight one is Acromantula, and the nineth one is Hydra. I think that all of them Professor." Kay said unsure of her answer. Kay looked to Marie and Lorcan with a worried look. She hate answers question. |

"Demiguise, zero. Unicorn, one. Graphorn, two. Runespoor, three. Fwooper, four. Quintaped, five. Salamander, six. Unknown, seven. Acromantula, eight. Hydra, nine." he said straightly. |
Macadrian was deep in thought about her wand, only half listening to the students giving their answers. Suddenly she remembered herself last having her wand while on patrol duty of the corridors the night before. Maybe she dropped it in the hall! She turned to Less and whispered in her ear, "I need to step out for just a moment. I hope you don't mind handling the first part of the lesson til I return." And without another word, Macadrian quickly made her exit through the Arithmancy doors and out into the corridor. |
Jacoby watched Professor Shackleton exit the classroom, but he made no remark. But he put his hand in the air. "Theres...ummm 0 for demiguise, unicorn is one, 2 is graphorn, 3 is...is" 3...3...3 heads "3 is runespoor, 4 is fwop...fwooper. 5 is a acroman...no no, 5 is a quintaped" Jacoby started fliping through his notes trying to remember the rest "Six is a slamander, 7 is unknown, 8, is an acro-Man Tu-La" trying to pronounce everything correctly "and 9 is, ummm 9 headed thingy.... Hydra!" |
Whaa? All of them? Sylvia was going to need the textbook for this. She raised her hand. "0 is the Demiguise ... 1, unicorn. 2, Graphorn. 3, Runespoor. 4, Fwooper. 5, Quintaped." Sylvia sighed and turned over the page. "6, Salamander. 7, is .. unknown? Oh yeah!" Sylvia giggled, she had forgotten that. "8, is the big spider thing .. Acromantula and 9 is the Hydra." |

Oh crap... what DID they learn last lesson? Errrrr... It was hard without his notes, but it was... Jake raised his hand. "It were something t'do wit'... our names... I fink... Our first names," he stalled, scrunching up his nose and looking around. "Somefing 'transit'?" Well... if he was explaining it to Dale, the little boy would have the decency to pretend he knew what Jake was on about... so that seemed about right. |
Copernicus raised his hand. "Professor, we are studying the transit cycles in Arithmancy. You use the individual letters in your first, middle, or last names to calculate your physical, mental, and spiritual cycles, respectively, for the periods of your life. For example, the first letter of my first name, C, tells me that my first cycle lasts for three years and was a creative and experiential time in my physical life." |
Quote:
"It's, um... a method, I guess, of trying to predict what is going to happen to you in the future. On the basis of those, those Transits. You figure them out with the letters in your name." |
'Arithmancy, what did we study? Oh yeah.' Marie raised her hand, "Professor we studied transit cycles which reveal what events are going to happen in your life." Marie sat there thinking, hoping she remembered the correct meaning of transit cycles. 'I think that answer would be simple enough for a 10 year old to understand' Marie thought as she sat there looking at Kay waiting to hear her answer. |
Evan couldn't remember for a second what they had done. Ah, right. Raising his hand he opened his mouth, but many of the students had already answered. No need to repeat the simple answer. He dropped his hand and waited for the next question. |
