Thomas raised his hand and said, "A demiguise can found in the far east. It is a very peaceful creature. It is hard to find a demiguise because it can turn invisible when it wants. The reason it number zero is because it is invisible to the human eyes. We also use the demiguse for making invisiblty cloaks." Hopefully he was right.

Attampting to inconspicuously break some of the cake from the original slice, Jake smiled and quickly shoved it into his mouth.

Everyone else in the room seemed to disappear as he focused on shoveling as much as the chocolate covered piece of heaven into his mouth. It was just him and the cake and nothing else mattered right now.

From his position at Alessia's desk hunched over the chocolate cake as though it was the last piece on the earth, Marcus spied a movement out of the corner of his eye and he turned his head and almost letting out growl at whoever who was stealing the cake.

Okay so he didn't growl but he wasn't exactly happy either and not because Jake was stealing the cake but because he knew he shouldn't eating anything sweet. Marcus, stood up reluctantly not really wanting to leave his cake unprotected and made his way over to Jake's desk. "You're not allowed to have anything sweet Mr Upstead...you know that." He grabbed the piece of cake that was in front of Jake and quickly shoved it into his mouth. Mwhahaha...try getting that back!!!

"HEY!" Jake protested, twitching a little as Lawson STOLE the cake that was RIGHTFULLY HIS.

"Um professor is it because Demiguises turn invisible? You can't see the value of zero in person just like you can't see a Demiguise when it goes invisible."

Nataly looked through her textbook, and saw the line '...ability to make itsel invisible...'
Well, that's easy. She thought and raised her hand. "The Demiguise has a special abilty to turn invisible. When he is invisible, it looks like nothing is there, and zero means nothing. That's why the Demiguise simbolises the number zero."

Tibi listened intently as other student offered their ideas. All of them seemed to make sense and he scribbled down the possibilities in his notes.

Possibilities... Tibi was suddenly struck by an idea. Considering it for a moment, he raised his hand.

"In addition to representing the unknown, when a demiguise is invisible, the unknown quantity also represents possibility -- possibility that anything could appear in that space. The possibility only ends when it appears and certainty returns."

Had that made sense? Tibi pursed his lips... he'd thought it was a good point, but maybe he hadn't explained it clearly. He started to speak again to clarify, but stopped himself.

Oooh, Evan got his answer to "reading runes". So you asked a question and pulled out three runes? Easy enough. He'd actually do that once he learnt all of the meanings. He wondered if it showed the answers of exam questions too. But remembering it was about life, he sighed. Probably it did not.

demiguise represents zeros as when a demiguise is invisable, it is nothing it can not been see, an therefore, is nothing it ,to all intensive purposes does'nt exist, it is unknow, it has no mater, like the number zero it has no value it is a unknown quantity, much like the inviable demiguise, i agree also that the unknown, ends when demiguise reapears, this is much like when zero is added to make a number for example the number 1, makeing is quntity known like the reapering demiguise. james hoped that it had come out right and that it was not to complicated

Alexandra raised her hand and said, "Well, the Demiguise represents zero, and it's a creature that's hair helps with invisibility, so maybe it represents the unknown." She hoped she had it somewhat figuered out.

Damon was playing with his fork on the icing of his chocolate cake, drawing the little symbols of his text book as he thought. It was absentminded and he had a little bit of a thoughtful expression on his face. Blatantly ignoring the cake stealing that was going on further back in the class room, he half-raised his hand, more like he knew that he should. "Well zeros have properties too... But it can't be seen, so it becomes nothing to us, much like someone who is invisible. They're there, but they're not."

LouAnn glanced from Professor Lupa to another professor she hadn't met yet, then back to Professor Lupa once again. She was going to fail Ancient Runes, that's just all there was to it. Professor Lupa seemed highly skilled in this field, and LouAnn had no doubt her professor could catch her up in no time.

"A demiguise is a creature with the ability to make itself invisible. It takes a highly trained witch or wizard to even see a demiguise in order to capture it. We can't see the Demiguise, but it's still there," she said. "It's invisibility relates to the number zero. Zero is a number that means there are no quantities in a specific place within a number. Maybe the Demiguise rune is only present to effect the other runes in some way...just like a zero is present in a number to make it of a larger quantity."

Ana raised her hand "Demeguise is an herbiverous and peaceful creature, it looks like a ape with big black eyes and it has the ability to became invesible. I think is number 0 because when something is invisibible you can't see so is like it wasn't there the same goes for the zero it doesn't exist"

Carter raised his hand. "Could it represent zero because it exists but doesn't have a physical presence? Like a demeguise exists, but you can't see it." He wasn't sure his answer made sense, but he had a feeling the cake in front of him was to blame if he didn't make sense.

Jacoby raised his hand. "Well a demiguise makes its self invisible, so if we're reading it as a rune. as past present or future. I guess it would mean some thing like uncertainty. Like theres nothing there to show us what happened, is happening or will happen. Like its completely gone, like it was never there. Or like its only partially there." He did seem to say 'like' alot when he wasn't sure of himself...but it sounded good in his head. Hopefully it sounded good out loud too...

She giggled, "Alright... Half dressed. One point."

"Gone from the world... gone. Alright, one point." and she moved to the next person.

"Invisible... One point," she said anyone else?

"You are welcome... but you need to keep answering my dear." She said and went to the next student.

"Good, hidden and mystery we can add to the list." She said "One point. Anyone else?"

"Without quantity." She said and nodded, "One point"

"Master Upstead! Professor Lawson is not a 'meany.' I believe I said no eating the cake slices at your desks without a fork. You are not an animal. They are there to motivate you to participate in my class." She said looking at the boy disappointed. She didn't know he wasn't supposed to have sweets. "I hope it was worth it... Disobedience will cost you two points, and no more cake."

"Can't see the value... worthless. One point." She said and conjured a fork for the little boy.

"Alright... now give me a meaning... one that hasn't been said before." She said.

"Possibility, good." She said and added, "One point."

"Inability to see what's before you... good, one point." she said.

"No my dear, the unknown is rune number 7... and we'll get to that one."

"Unseen... Good good... One Point. Next?" She said looking around the room.

"Only present to effect the other runes, alright... Dependent on others," she said nodding at the girl, "One point," she said and looked for the next hand.

She conjured forks for all those who didn't have them and went to the board and wrote:

Nataly looked at her cake hungrily, itching to eat it. But first she'll answer all the questions. Slytherin needed the points-they were behind the Rewenclaws by 100 points!
She raised her hand to answer the question. "The second Rowling rune that Symbolises number one is the Unicorn. The Unicorn's single horn simbolises the number one."

"What is it?" She asked, "Don't forget that..."
