| Wowza! Oohh. There was Tag! And Ryan! And, wow, there was even a little plaque with her name on it . . .
. . . What?
So she'd been trying to be civil. Civil towards the boy who had set his mouse FREE during Transfiguration so it could attack her. Yet, he was not cooperating, and if Clifford Carden started to push her, she would end up doing something HE would end up regretting. "Who says I was sneaking up on YOU? I have as much right as you do to visit this place. How was I supposed to know that you were here?" Snapped Willow - or at least she tried to snap at him. The retort would have been snarky if it hadn't been for the fact that it came out in a low tone.
Perfect. The only boy who was scared of her was probably not going to feel that way any longer - she was losing her touch.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow He'd been expecting her to retort. She WAS Willow Kovac after all. Willow 'The Bone Crusher' Kovac. And he was alone in the trophy room with her. Perhaps now was the ideal time to do a runner? He was seriously considering it.. especially when she started talking..
But it wasn't scary! That was ... odd. He was either getting braver, or Willow was getting less scarier. Hmmm.
"Uhm - are you okaaaay?" Clifford heard himself asking before he realised just what it was he was doing. ACK! Stupid mouth! He was asking Willow Kovac is she was okay? What was wrong with him!?

| Wowza! The sixth year had been expecting Clifford to make one of his childish faces at her, and say something to match the equally childish expression. Or to pee on his pants, and run away from her as fast as he possibly could. What she had definitely NOT been expecting was to hear him asking her if she was alright.
With confusion colouring her facial features, Willow's head slowly turned around from the little plaque that she'd been staring at it, to Clifford Carden's face. And then she blinked her green eyes a couple of times at him.
"Are you okay?" And then she blinked again. It was just a little too weird to have him asking for her well being, so perhaps he was ill? He could be. Wasn't the Slytherin Common room like a swimming pool now? Maybe all that water had affected him somehow.
Besides, answering his question with another question was a good way to ignore his question, because Willow did not know if she was okay. If that made any sense.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Gah! Why was he so STUPID? Asking Willow is she was okay really hadn't been one of his better ideas. Now he was doomed, surely. Now she REALLY would snap. Not only snap back with words.. but snap him into little, tiny Cliffie pieces too. EEEK!
His adam's apple quivered due to the large, nervous gulp he made when she turned to face him, and Clifford braced himself. He braced himself for the worst. He was bigger than her - a fair bit bigger than her actually - but he did NOT underestimate the powers of the Bone Crusher. Nuh uh.
And then she went and shocked him. AGAIN. "Am I okay?" He repeated her question with a blink of his own, surprise and confusion clear in his expression. "Sure.. I - I suppose.." he started slowly, rubbing the back of his neck out of nervous habit. This had to be a trick. Yes, she was leading him into some false sense of security and then BAM!!! she'd attack.

| Wowza! Good lord, what had she done to this boy? He looked at the verge of both begging her to not kill him or of simply running away to save his life. So, Willow was pleased to see that Clifford Carden still found her scary, but it was just so weird. No one else found her scary. Right? Perhaps it was just a Slytherin thing. Either way, it didn't matter.
And then he looked confused. And shocked.
Boys were so weird.
"Oh," was all she gave him as a reply, at the same time she shrugged her shoulders lightly. Then she turned around and stared at the Ravenclaw plaques once again with slightly narrowed eyes. "I was just wondering because . . . well, you just asked me if I was okay," continued Willow, using the same low tone.

Willow Kovac in particular. And what made it even weirder.. was the fact that SHE was being weird by not being her normal weird self! That made no sense.. but it was truue! Why wasn't the Ravenclaw Captain being her usual self!? Why hadn't she attacked him already!? "Right.. I did," Clifford wrinkled his nose when she reminded him that he'd asked if she was okay. He knew now though. He knew that she wasn't okay. Which meant now would be a good time to leave her alone.. while he still had his life.
... he just couldn't seem to! Odd.
Gulping again, the seventh year surprised himself yet again by edging forward slightly. Edging TOWARD the dangerous one. "W - What is it then? Quidditch troubles? Homework troubles? ... Boy troubles?" Oh heck, why couldn't he just shut up already? "At least you're not homeless, huh?" He joked with a nervous chuckle. Oh boy.

Snarky one moment, then surprised, then shocked and finally, the most surprising of them all . . . he was being nice.
Carden totally needed help. He, along side the Hufflepuff -cue her hands clenching into fists- females needed to be locked up in St. Mungo's due to their multiple personality disorder issue. They were all insane, in Willow's opinion, and they should not be allowed to be with the normal people, for they could become dangerous. Not that Clifford Carden had ever been dangerous, but what did she know? It wasn't like she spent all her time around him.
It was just so weird. He was weird.
And it was beginning to creep her out.
"Well, my team did win the Quidditch cup last term, so do you honestly think it's Quidditch troubles? And I am a Ravenclaw, so why would I have trouble doing my homework?" And although one of her eyebrows raised at him -though it was mostly because he had taken a step towads her- her tone was rather civil - amicable, either. Sort of. "As for the boy troubles . . ." started, musing under her breath, Willow wondered if she should lie or not because whether she wanted to admit it or not, he had guessed the truth.
Wow. She was upset over some boy. It had just REALLY hit her.
The end of the world was surely approaching. ". . . I don't think that's any of your business? Not to mention that, do I look like the type who has that kind of issues? Besides, if it was that, I'm sure you wouldn't want to listen." And just because Willow was aware sehd had sort of rambled, her hand instantly reached for one strand of hair as her fingers curled around it and started to play with it.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Did she have to remind him of last terms Quidditch? Ugh. He was trying to be nice here! And it was taking a LOT of courage and bravery on his behalf and he was no Gryffindor. His brow furrowed at the Ravenclaw's words and Clifford simply shrugged his shoulders before leaning on one of the trohy cabinets and folding his arms across his chest.
Eh. Maybe it was time he went. Sure, he was in here first but the Bone Crusher slowly seemed to be returning to her normal self.
Or so he had thought anyway.
It was boy troubles, wasn't it? Not exactly his area of expertise. "You're right, I suppose it's not my business," he said casually with another shrug. It was true. What did HE care of Willow Kovac was having boy troubles? He wasn't entirely sure if he considered her a friend or not.. same with Dominic Denton, for he figured the boy troubles were something to do with the Hufflepuff Prefect. "I actually happen to be the world's best listener though," he informed with a nod, "I did have a certificate to prove it but it probably got lost in the flood." Siiiigh. "Did Denton's head finally explode or something?" That could be considered boy trouble, right?

| Wowza! The reason why Clifford Carden was still there, putting up with her, still boogled her mind. They weren't exactly best friends, after all. In fact, Willow was not even sure she considered him a friend, for since the day they'd met six years ago, the two of them had had the weirdest relationship. If there was any at all. that is.
So why was he still there?
It was confusing. He was confusing. And the other one, the Unspeakable, other than a liar and many other things, was confusing, too.
Everyone was confusing, actually. Pout.
"Of course you are," mused Willow, using a patronizing though. "Did you take a course or something?" Snort. Good lord, even her attempts of making fun of him were feeble. And, of course, he just had to go mentioning the one who should not, under any cirscumstances, be mentioned in front of her.
How did he know, though? "What makes you think it's Denton?" Seriously. Wait - she wasn't supposed to agree with him. "I mean, IF that's why I'm upset, that is," hurried Willow, in attempts to cover up her mistake.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow "As a matter of fact, I did.. yes," Clifford played along, pretending he hadn't caught on to the patronising tone of voice Willow had used on him. Here he was trying to be nice to her, and she was STILL being mean. Not AS mean though. No, definately not as mean. In fact, this new sad Willow - he figured she was sorta sad anyway - wasn't actually that bad.
... was it mean if he thought she should be sad all the time? Hmmm. Probably.
He couldn't prevent the small, amused snicker that escaped when she pretty much gave away that she was upset because of a boy. Hah. He knew it. And that boy HAD to be Denton. "Because everyone one knows you two had a little snogging session underneath the seats in the stands last term," Clifford took joy in explaining, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. Bwaha. "Apparently it was all 'Oh, Wiiiiiiilllow..'" Kissykissy face.. "'Oh, Doooominic.'" Kissykissy face. Okay, so he'd made that last bit up. Oh well.

| Wowza! Did Clifford honestly thought of her as some kind of idiot that would buy her story of him having taken courses in order to become a good listener? Pfft! She was a Ravenclaw, for crying out loud! Didn't he know that? Wasn't the blue on her robes and the blue of her captain badge enough of a proof for him? Apparently not.
So she opened her mouth to reply to him, but then as quickly as she opened it, she closed it.
What . . . on . . . earth?!
"I.Did.Not.Snog.Dominic.Denton!" Hissed Willow slowly. Where had he gotten than from? "And what do you mean EVERYONE knows that?" Surely not? OF COURSE THEY DID. No wonder why Kaika Lockhart and Vanessa Corbette and Rachel were giving her such WEIRD looks at the prefects bathroom.
"Listen to me, Clifford Carden, I did NOT snog Dominic Denton." And why, WHY should that ridiculous blush had to creep on her cheeks? "It was only one kiss. One simple kiss." Well, two actually, but no one had seen the other one so there was no need to inform Carden about it. "And . . . we were not making those faces at each other." Breathe, Willow, breathe. "BESIDES, none of that matters now." Because Dominic Denton and Evolette Mckenna could go jump off a cliff for all she cared.
Right?

That was all Clifford's smaller than average brain managed to register in this moment. He'd gone and done it, hadn't he? He'd sent the Bone Crush over the edge with his comments, surely. Uh oh. Uh oh.
He tried not to wince when she went and HISSED at him, but couldn't help it. Dude, this chick was scary. But he was sure the key was to not let her know he thought that. Right. Confusing, but hopefully it would work. He just had to try be brave. "Okay, okay.. you didn't snog Denton," the Head Boy said with a small roll of his eyes. That's it.. pretend not to be on the verge of peeing your pants in fright.. Besides, the being whole being brave thing wasn't too difficult when she was blushing like that. "But it obviously DOES matter," he went on to point out, one eyebrow raising, "if it didn't matter you wouldn't be upset." And she was upset. Yup.

| Wowza! Willow wasn't sure if she should leave now and ignore Clifford Carden for what was left of the school term, or stayed there and demand him to tell her who had told her all those things? Surely he hadn't seen it, had he? He had been playing Quidditch that day, right?
To be perfectly honest, she couldn't remember properly, for the girl had been unsuseccesfully trying to forget about that day and everything that had happened. And everything he had said. And what he didn't said . . .
. . . New thought, new thought!
It was easy to see that Clifford did not believe her. Well, she was telling him the truth, and if he didn't want to believe her, well . . . she was going to have to force him to. "Who told you that?" Asked Willow, scrutinizing him with her eyes. Surely he would know what she was talking about? Willow was not about to say Dominic's name outload. Not ever again.
Taking a deep breath as she bit her bottom lip, the sixth year decided that looking at the floor was safer than looking at Carden. "Well, it shouldn't matter, Clfford, that's the thing." Willow had no idea why she was telling him this, but she trusted him not to say anything. "Because he, well, he's a liar." It was true. Or at least that's what she thought anyway.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Who told him that? About the snog she and Denton had shared? That was so long ago! How did she expect him to remember that!? He only had a little brain! He could barely remember two days ago let alone last term! Oh, but he didn't like the way she was looking at him! "I - uh.." he was about to tell her he'd simply heard a group of girls discussing it in a corridor when he noticed her gaze had dropped to the floor. Uhm.. oops?
Unfolding his arms and straightening, Clifford gave the back of his neck another quick rub and took another tiny step forward. Sure, Bone Crusher was scary and - and could crush bones! But he didn't mean to make her sad! Had he made her sad? He didn't know.
"A liar?" He asked quietly, tilting his head to one side. He was kind of curious.. who could blame him? "I could - uh.. tell him off for you if you like! Or erm - take some points off him! Perks of the job," he tried to smile, jabbing a thumb at the new badge pinned to his chest. "You'd have to tell me what he lied about first though.."

| Wowza! Clifford Carden was being nice. How strange that was, for Willow had always had the impression that other than being scared of her, he was not particularly fond of her, either. But then, it wasn't like she was friendly towards him - it was always her saying, 'Carden' and Clifford stuttering a greeting. It had always been like that, and Willow was not expecting it to change. But apparently it was changing. Sort of.
Well, it wasn't like they were a pair of eleven and twelve years old kids anymore.
But that didn't make it less strange. Not at all.
With a little grin tugging in the right corner of her lips, Willow looked up though her dark lashes, at the boy before her. Tell him off? That sounded really tempting, as well, as taking points from him for having lied to her an - WAIT. Taking points? Could prefects do that?
Oh. Oh. "I didn't know you were Head Boy, Clifford." Professor Forrester really was out of his mind. "Congratulations?" Those congratulations were really late, but she meant them. "Who's the head girl?" How was it possible that she didn't know he was Head Boy? She was a Quidditch Captain, for crying out loud. She was meant to know these things!
However, the little smile that had been on her lips left her face as soon as Clifford asked what The Unspeakable had done. Did she want to tell him? Would he keep his mouth shut? Willow, after all, was certain she did not want the entire school knowing that she'd been sad over some prat with the name of Dominic Denton. "Well," she started, deciding she had said enough already - or rather, Carden had guessed it all. Huh. Maybe he was not as retarded as he had once told her he was. "Um . . . This friend of mine - well, ex friend of mine," she locked her jaw, "sort of, erm, kissed him."

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow "Thanks?" Her congratulations at him being Head Boy had sounded very much like a question.. and his thanks had come out the exact same way. He really didn't know where he stood with Willow Kovac, that was the problem. He was always so ... unsure around her. For instance, right now she was being alright.. but then there were times when she gave him the downright heebie jeebies. "And it's Anna Greingoth," the words tasted horrible on his tongue and Clifford pulled a face. "Greingoth is Head Girl." Unfortunately. Ugh.
For a brief second - a VERY brief second - the seventh year thought Willow was going to be okay. But he saw the smile fall from her lips just as fast as it had gotton there. Clearly NOT okay.
And she explained why. He really hadn't been expecting that.
He bet half the girls in Hogwarts wished they could be standing in his shoes right now.. such gossips they were.. but Clifford, he suddenly felt bad for poor Willow. Poor Willow!? Had he really just thought that? Whaaa?
"Some friend," the Head Boy snorted, brown eyes sympathetic. "I'll take points off of her too if you want." Pity that wouldn't really solve anything though, right? "And - And did Denton.. y'know? Give her a smooch right back?"

| Wowza! Right, so, it was now that she'd heard his reply, that Willow realized that her congratulations had sounded very much like a question. Like she wasn't sure whether he deserved them or not - Nice. Not that she particularly cared about hurting Carden's feelings, but he was being pretty nice to her and she didn't want to hurt his feelings.
Wait - Apparently she did care. She didn't want to hurt his feelings.
How strange.
"Anna Greingoth?" Was all Willow said as a reply, wrinkling her nose. It wasn't that she disliked Greingoth or anything . . . she just didn't particularly cared for the girl. The seventeen year old liked her as much as she liked the rest of the female population of Hogwarts, which wasn't saying a lot considering that for one, Willow did not have many female friends, and two, most people got on her nerves very easily.
Clifford Carden, though, was clearly not pleased that Greingoth was Head Girl. And to think that Willow had always thought that everyone liked the Gryffindor; apparently, Carden wasn't one of them. "Oh. I guess I should congratulate her when I see her." Snooort. Willow would congratulate her the day hell froze over and animals started to sound appealing to her.
Coming back to reality at the sound of his voice and snort -in other moment she would have told him off for that- Willow simply shrugged and leaned against the wall. "I'd say." Ugh. She wanted to go the Slytherin common room and strangle Evolette Mckenna. To bad that now that she was of age, she would go to Azkaban for murdering someone. "I doubt you will do such thing if I tell you that she is part of the Slytherin house?" She raised an eyebrow at him. He very obviously wouldn't - besides, taking points wasn't the answer. She sort of knew what she was going to do. "I don't know, I wasn't there." Frowning at the floor as her lower lip started to slip into a pout, she continued, "I . . . I hope not. But I mean, why wouldn't he? She, is well, I guess she's pretty. So I don't see why he wouldn't? I mean, he didn't write to me all over the summer . . . " It was time to stop talking. It definitely was.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Judging by the expression on Willow's face.. the Ravenclaw cared for Anna Greingoth just as much as he did. In other words? Not in the slightest. That meant he and Kovac had something in common other than their obvious love of the beautiful sport that was Quidditch? Wow.
He was about to go off into a rant about Greingoth and how bloody annoying she could be when Willow spoke up again and he decided better of it. Yup, when people were upset.. well, he figured it was best just to let them talk. Get it aaaall out of their system. And for some strange reason that he didn't understand, he honestly didn't mind listening. Clifford Carden was feeling sympathy for Willow Kovac. What was happening? "She's in Slytherin?" Clifford asked, eyes widening a little. He'd been curious as to who the girl was.. Slytherin, huh? Well, that narrowed it down. "I guess I wouldn't wanna take points then.." He mumbled, teeth tugging at his lower lip when he noticed the way the Ravenclaw was pouting. She wasn't going to ... cry, was she? Because that, he was SURE he wouldn't be able to handle.
Besides, surely the Bone Crusher wasn't possible of producing TEARS. Naaah. No way.
Then again, he never thought it was possible for her to talk like this. Especially to him. She was letting it all out on him now apparently. Erm. "But you're pretty too!" He said before he was able to stop himself, giving Willow a gentle pat on the arm now he realised he was close enough. Pretty!? He'd just told Willow she was PRETTY!? Oh dear, Merlin. Shuffling his big feet awkwardly, Clifford cleared his throat unsurely. "A - And I'm sure Denton had good reason for not writing!" Why he was defending Denton, he had no idea.. to make Willow feel better? He didn't know why he wanted that either. Clifford Carden was confused.

| You KNOW you love long posts, Gemma. HAHA. <3 Wowza! Not even looking at Clifford at the tone of surprise he used, Willow only shrugged, not knowing why he sounded so surprised. A Gryffindor wouldn't do that, would they? Weren't they the Chivalrous and all that heroic rubbish? And Ravenclaws were too smart and to do such a thing. Hufflepuffs were loyal. Or at least they should be, so they would honestly not do that to a friend, would they? Slytherins, on the other hand . . . "Her name is Evolette. Don't know if you know her." She did. Unfortunately. "And of course you wouldn't." It would have been funny in any other moment, but right now, the last thing on her mind was laughing.
Was it just her or had sympathy taken over Clifford Carden's expression? Willow, who had been staring at him from the corner of her eye as she spoke, turned around in order to fully look at him. There WAS sympahty on his face.
This was way weird. Perhaps it was time to go and that way, everything would go back to normal; Clifford would be the same old Clifford, and Willow would just be her usual self. Both of them would pretend that didn't happen, right? Surely he would, for something told Willow that Evangeline Green would not appreciate it if she found her boyfriend had been spending time with some other girl at the trophy room.
So Willow was about to go. Yes, she was. The girl had even taken a step towards the door, and she would have most likely said somethhing along the lines of 'well, I'll see you around, Clifford' but the words that came out of the words mouth were something the sixth year had not been expecting. At all.
Turning around so sharply that it made her feel slightly dizzy, Willow quite possibly stared at the head boy for several seconds, as she processed it all. And then she committed the error number one: Hesitating "I . . ." What? Know that I'm pretty? Because she did. Willow Liadan Kovac was fully aware that she was good looking. And no, the Slytherin boy before her was not the first one to point that out, but those two facts didn't make Clifford Carden's statement less shocking. " . . . think you are pretty, too?" Error number two: Speaking without thinking even if it was true. "I mean, handsome." Error number three: Not fixing errors number one and two.
Those things . . . she had not meant to say them. She should NOT have said any of them.
Green eyes staring into Clifford's brown, the girl quickly thought of something that would possibly fix her ridiculous mistake. Vaguely aware that Carden had invaded her personal space bubble by touching her arm, the girl started, "But, um, yeah. Don't let it go to your head, Carden." YEAH. Willow Kovac NEVER used such a terrible word as YEAH. Yet she was using it now.
Ugh. And why was he defending Dominic Denton? "Are you like his best friend or something?" Taking a deep breath, and mentally cusing Dominic Denton wherever he was right now because this was so obviously his fault and not hers, she continued, "I mean, yes, I'm sure he was busy doing whatever it is that he did over the summer, but, seriously, could he not write ONE letter?" Sure she had not written to him either, but that was beside the point, right?

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Evolette? The McKenna girl? The seventh year wasn't really on close terms with the girl, but he definately knew who she was. Nor was he surprised that it was her that had apparently snogged Willow's boyfriend. Because Denton was her boyfriend, right? He must've been.. otherwise she wouldn't be so upset about what had happened. Right.
For one brief moment, Clifford was sure Willow had had enough. He was sure he'd seen her take a step toward the trophy room door. She'd probably decided she'd given away too much already.. or maybe she wanted a proper friend to talk to..
..or maybe it was because of that stupid pretty comment he'd made. Gulp.
The last thing he'd been expecting, was for her to turn back around and tell him HE was pretty. WHUUUUTT? He felt the surprise on his face, and quickly tried to relax his expression as he leaned back on the Ravenclaw trophy cabinet. "Pretty handsome, huh?" He snickered in amusement, hoping that maybe a bit of teasing might lighten the mood in gere.. get rid of someof the awkwardness. "I've got it now.. that's why you're usually so mean to me, isn't it? Because secretly you've actually got the hots for me." Smirking, Clifford wiggled his eyebrows playfully at the Ravenclaw. "Hardly." He snorted again when she asked is Denton was his best friend. Really, Denton was a strange one. But then again Willow was normally strange too. He supposed that made them a good couple, right? Two strange peas in a pod. "I just think he wears good shoes," the Head Boy confessed with a shrug, head tilting to one side. "I suppose you're right.. he could've managed at least one letter. I mean, being your boyfriend and all."

| Wowza! Willow had never been more grateful to see a boy snicker and wriggle his eyebrows at her. In any other moment, her reaction those two things would have been snapping something at the male or storming off, but right now, when awkwardness was filling the air . . . well, an eyebrow wriggle and a snicker had been the perfects things to get rid off some of the awkwardness. And getting rid off that meant that she'd be able to sort of behave like her usual self.
"I tell you to not let it go to your head, and that's the first thing you do." Maybe he wasn't THAT weird. Any other boy would have felt pleased to have her saying they were handsome - as they should, of course, for Willow Kovac did not complimented people on a daily basis. Trying as hard as she could to not snort at his ridiculous comment, and deciding that she could play along, Willow clasped both of her hands behind her, rocked on the balls of her feet and bat her long, dark lashes at him, at the same time that a coy expression took over her face. "I totally do, Clifford," said the girl innocently, continuing with her charade, taking a step towards him, "Why did it take you so long to figure it out? I've been waiting for you since I was tweeeeeeelve." That's, of course, when she had to stop. So the girl snorted, flipped her hair and snapped, "Don't make me laugh, Carden. Only in your dreams I would feel that way about you. You might be handsome, but you are not my type." Cue Willow sticking her nose in the air, "And as far as I remember, I've never been mean to you." She hadn't, right? Er, it was hard to tell.
Sadly, though, the playfulness couldn't last long, for Clifford just to go ruin it by mentioning Denton. "Yes, well, he's not my boyfriend." Definitely not. "But one would say that after writing me a poem he would at least write, right? Wrong. He didn't." And then, of course, when she'd seen at Diagon Alley after two months of not knowing anything about him, he'd basically 'wooed' her best friend, and then kissed another 'friend' of hers.
Ugh. She was never, never going to speak to him ever again.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Clifford knew he was fairly lucky in the looks department. Hey, he wasn't a bad looking guy if he said so himself! It was just totally and completely WEIRD to hear Willow Kovac - THE Willow Kovac - call him handsome. And to his face too. Psssh. How could he NOT do some teasing after that? Man, that was just teasing HEAVEN. He couldn't help himself!
He'd been expecting Willow to glare daggers at him, maybe even threaten to shove his head through one of the glass cabinets... certainly NOT to tease him right back. Because surely she was teasing. He HOPED she was teasing anyway. Clifford simply raised one eyebrow when she began to flutter her dark eyelashes at him - he didn't even flinch when she took a step forwards! Whoa, he really was getting brave. He was still on guard though.. always on guard around the Bone Crusher. "Don't EVER say that again, Kovac," Clifford started, brown eyes twinkling in amusement, "not even as a joke.. and believe me, I'm grateful I'm not your type." HAH!
But hang on, now he was getting kind of confused. "Wait a minute.. let me get this straight.. you're upset because Denton kissed Evolette. And you're upset because he didn't write to you all summer. BUT the dude isn't your boyfriend?" Whaaa? "Oooooh! It's not ME you've got the hots for is it? It's Denton!"

| Wowza! Perhaps having run into Clifford Carden had not been an entirely bad idea, after all, for Willow was surprisingly feeling a lot better. And to think it was thanks to Clifford Carden and his . . . peculiar antics. The truth was that Willow never thought such thing could be possible, but then, there were many, many things that had happened to her in the last few months that she didn't think could be possible, so it shouldn't really surprise her.
"Trust me, I won't," answered Willow lightly, rolling her eyes at him. "As long as YOU don't ever tell me that I'm pretty again, I'll never repeat it again." Snicker. Well, it was true - he had started. Willow had no intentions of forgetting that, though. "I'm grateful you are not my type." She would have jumped out of the Astronomy tower by now if that were the case. Shudder.
Pouting at the change of topic, Willow took a deep breath as she thought about a way she could explain it to him and he would understand. Because even if he was not stupid, Clifford Carden's brain was smaller than hers, right? He wasn't a Ravenclaw, after all. "Okay," started the girl, beginning to feel a little awkward again, "Let's pretend that you didn't have Evangeline Green for a second," Hopefully here explanation would not manage to confuse the head boy, "But that you liked Evangeline. And that Evangeline one day came and, er, well recited poetry to you and then kissed you in front of many, many people. And then you decided to speak in private to her and demand Evangeline what her problem was, and she, as an explanation, told you that she . . . she was crazy about you." Remembering that conversation at the cupboard was perhaps not a wise thing to do right now -or ever, really- but the girl kept going, "And that, well, she would be there forever and always and," she cleared her throat, feeling self-conscious and not even aware that her eyes were now staring at the floor again, "well, things like that. And then, you don't see her again. She doesn't write to you, and when you do see her, she flirts with your best friend! And then goes to kiss another friend of yours."
It was only then, when Willow took a deep breath to steady herself a little, that the sixth year realized her eyes were fixed on some crack on the floor. "Do you see now why I'm upset?" Finished the young Ravenclaw, looking up at the older boy at last. "It's not about whether I have the hots for Dominic Denton or not, Clifford." It was about . . . keeping their word. And not lying. Right?

| Keeping their word, eh? *cues entrance* ;D YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Perhaps Dominic was slightly out of his mind for making the trip up to the third floor where the Trophy Room was. But as Prefect, it was his responsibility to ensure that the morale was kept high in Hufflepuff. And one of the ways he intended on doing that was tracking down exactly how many times they had won the House and Quidditch Cup. Certainly not in his time at Hogwarts, but he was sure it happened.
Though one thing he had not been expecting when cracking open the door to the shiny room with plaques and cups was finding two people there - who he never thought possible for them to get along. Hand on the door knob, the sixth year frowned slightly and was in half a mind to turn back around at the sound of her voice. 'It's not about whether I have the hots for Dominic Denton or not, Clifford.'
Talking about him. Oh this made him want to know MORE, as to why he was being talked about? But also to run away and to never speak with her again. Yet he was here on a mission for Hufflepuff, so why should he let some silly quarrel about himself stop him from completing that mission? Actually, it sort of made him slightly pleased to know that Willow was even talking about him; that was a good thing. Because Dominic Nielon Denton certainly loved when people talked about him - it meant they were thinking about him. And that was good.
Without thinking anymore about entering or not, the door knob slid downward, admitting himself into the gleaming room. Closing the door behind him, he glanced at from the pair of Slytherin Head Boy to Ravenclaw Captain, biting his lower lip hesitatingly. "Clifford." He greeted, "Kovac." hoping to maintain a field of innocence in pretending he NOT heard that last comment by Willow. "I'm not interrupting something, right?" Though of course he knew he was, but ssh...

Hogwarts RPG Name: James Lowen First Year | Jim was just wandering through the castle when something shiny caught his eye.He stopped and noticed the trophy room. He didn't know if he should have gone in or not but he couldn't resist... So he went in he looked at every single trophy at least twice. Some that he really liked he looked at three times. Finally he just got bored of looking at the same trophies for an hour. So he decided to leave. |
