It took almost the whole of the writing period before she came up with something. No matter what she thought of, she could not think of animal preferences... odd as that sounded. And other students just wrote away. Then her expression brightened as she was suddenly lit with the inspiration she lacked the previous period, and wrote --

Pause. That was about it, if she were to be brief. Happy with her answer, why, she put her quill down.

Oohh animals! Demetria loved animals! There were so many she loved but her favorite would have to be.....

Animal: Rabbit
Reason: I love them because they are cute and cuddly and while some are very playful, others have a bit of mystery to them. I would love to know what goes on in a rabbits mind.

Had THE AWESOME! Miss Celandine just looked his way? Fyo blinked, before realizing she was.. sort of smiling. Not his way, but smiling all the same. Wait, wait, wait - DID HE HAVE SOMETHING ON HIS CHEEK?

The third year quickly dabbed a hand at his face, before wiping it - his face, not his hand - on one sleeve. Hopefully, if he had a big, GLOWING smudge of dirt there, the whole face-on-sleeve action had wiped it off.

Their favourite animal? Eh. What was the point of this? Wrinkling his nose, Clifford leaned over his parchment and began scribbling in his scruffy handwriting.

Hmmm. Miles wasn't that big on animals. But he had a really good think about it, and stuck his tongue out slightly with quill in hand and began writing.

"Really," he mumbled to himself as the parchment landed on his desk. Dipping his quill quickly into the ink, he then shifted his arm over his designated paper and stared blankly at it. Besides his name, he didn't know what animal he would put and any specific reason why.

He sighed lightly before scribbling down what his mind could come up with.
Writing his last statement down, he blushed and smiled to himself simply because his thought of home. He glanced back at the Professor and flipped his paper over.

Fallon thought it over for a minute as she pulled out her ink and quill. She then sat and stared at the parchment. My favorite animal...hmmm. Finally, she got it.

Fallon looked over at what she wrote and hope it sufficed. She put her quill down and looked around the room, waiting for everyone else to finish.

"A random animal will suffice if you don't have a favorite--and just pick some quality of that animal to write down, too," Lars told the Ravenclaw girl. He could understand her not having a favorite animal. Why, he hadn't even liked animals until he received his pet owl.


But it was time to move on. "Finish up, and when you've finished, find a partner and a spot in the center of the room," Professor Svensson told the class. As an afterthought, he added, "It would be nice if older students and younger students paired together as much as possible."

Herminny quickly put on her parchment:

Herminny wanted to spend some more time with Chris again who she had not talked with personally since lat year she walked up to him and asked, "Would you like to partner with me."

Lucy pulled the piece of parchment towards her and picked up her quill. What was her favorite animal? She had never really thought of this. She liked all animals really, but which was her favorite? It was so hard to choose. After a few minutes Lucy finally found her answer.

Lucy put her quill down. She had chosen the tiger. How could it not be her favorite, it was her patronus after all. She waited quietly for the other students to finish and for the professor to give further directions. A partner? Great. Lucy hated looking for partners. She looked around the the room. "Anybody need a partner?" She asked.

Cam still gave a look of complete pity at Willow, because he felt extremely sorry for her. Ahhh, it was a sad day. He turned his head back at the professor when he mentioned that they were gonna pair up. Partners?? Ooooh he liked pairing up. But with whooooo. He raised his eyebrows at the students in the classroom, trying to decide who to pick because obviously, he didn't like picking. Well he did, but not now, when he realized picking could make people/animals so emotional!

A pair? Clifford didn't want to pair up.. he just wanted to work on his own. Alone. That way he wouldn't have to talk to anyone. Bah, he really wasn't in the mood.

Mumbling incoherently under his breath, the seventh year just ... stared. Into space.

"Not again," he whined slouching in his seat and glancing around the room. He hated forced group work and preferred that two individuals start working together mutually, rather than someone telling them to cooperate randomly. Wallowing completely in his chair, Cordova stayed seated and waited for everyone else to be paired off hoping that two possible things happen:

a) There would be no one left and he would be forced to work by himself or with the Professor.
He shuddered at the thought of having to get to close with Professor Svensson.
b) He would get stuck with a useless partner who couldn't even conjure a simple spell.


Wait and see, he told himself still staying slopped in his seat.

A partner...PARTNER? What was it with professors and the need to partner people up? Was it a prerequisite of being a professor to torture the students by pairing them up when all they wanted to do was be alone? His good mood was quickly becoming something resembling a cranky gorilla who had just found out the last banana was eaten.

Getting up he spotted a fifth year Slytherin and shrugged, standing up from his rather comfortable spot he grunted and made his way over to her. "Hey, wanna partner up?" He asked, his blue eyes twinkling.

Lucy looked around at a younger boy as he approached her and asked to be partners. He was a couple years younger than her, but that was alright. Professor Svensson had said to would best if older students paired up with younger students. "Sure." She said smiling nicely before making her way towards the center of the classroom like the professor had directed.

Herminny turned toward an older Ravenclaw she could tell felt the same way she did about partners and tuned to her and said, "I totally agree with you but since we have to partner with someone would you like to partner with me?", Herminny asked hoping she would say yes. She hated partners so much, partly cause she could never find one.

Satine glanced around her looking for an...ugh...partner...she had to admit that partner work in most of these classes were confusing and hard to follow....but that's what the Professor wanted so she looked around with an extra big smile looking for a partner that hopefully was a hard worker like her.

Victoria looked round for someone to be her partner, she doesn't mean what year or house they are in.

Nancy blinked a few times at Professor Svensson told them they'd be supposed to write today. Hopefully only the usual taking-notes-sort-of-writing. Although, he wouldn't have told them then, right? So they probably would have to do an uber-amount of writing today. Eep!

...or not. For now at least. They were only supposed to write down their favorite animal and a reason why they liked that specific animal. Okay, that was not too challenging. Nancy grabbed one of the parchments and started scribbling down the required information.

Why? Uhm, well, because their fur and actually everything about them is beautiful, they live in different places all around the world and therefore easily adapt to their environment.

Uhm, okay, awesome reasons, but right now there was nothing else Nancy could think of. So, next step would be to find a partner. Glancing around the room Nancy hoped to spot somebody who did not yet have a partner.

Remaining slouched his position, he titled his head over his left shoulder and listened to a Gryffindor girl ramble about her opinion on partners. To convey motivation and sincerity, he shifted his position upright and smiled at the girl, and kindly extending his right hand. "If we must, then why not," he said through a half smile which turned into a smirk. He felt that should be a decent agreement to being partners.

"My name is Cordova, by the way," he left his hand extended and his expression stayed the same. Not feeling the need to carry on with introductions, he kindly awaited her name and stood up almost forgetting that you and your partner were supposed to move to the center of the room.

"Wow, thats a cool name, any way mine's Herminny", she said as she got up and shook hands with her partner and then made her way to the middle of the room as instructed with her partner.

A tiny finger poked him on the shoulder.

Behind that tiny finger on a tiny hand was a tiny ickle first year with a big smile. "Hello, want to pair up?" she asked brightly. There were a couple more who had her attention, but this boy's complete unwillingness was... enticing. Besides, this one was definitely not a first year, if they were to follow the professor's instructions, and was first in line.

She was by now standing on the center of the room, carrying only her wand and the piece of parchment.

Victoria saw that Cordova has found a partner and she couldn't see any of her friends from ravenclaw in her year, she will have to be brave and ask one of the older students to be her partner.

Was there really a reason why Jule liked wolves? Guess not. She just thought they were always fancinating to her. But now she had to look for a partner. Hmm, who will it be? She spotted around and saw Vicky.

"Hey Vicky, wanna be my partner?" she asked. She knew Vicky was very quiet and wouldn't ask an older student. Jule would have to work on that with her.

She turned around when she heard her name and saw Jules "Hey Jules, sure I will be your partner". She was glad that her best friend in the world was there because she knew that she was shy.
