The desks in the transfiguration classroom are arranged in neatly paired rows, all facing the front of the classroom. In front is a wide desk made of several student desks pushed together. A closed box sits on this desk, and a chalkboard behind states that class will begin shortly and you should sit down and wait for Professor Svensson, who is not yet present.

Cedric nods addressed to Clifford.He was now waiting for the final decision.Cedric noticed that Lars turned into a Canary but he ignores that fact so he can win the game.

"I have a question professor." Lettie said as she raised her hand, "Oh, and I"m Lettie. If you were to use the reducio spell until the pastry was no longer visible to the human eye, that would be vanishing it right?" Geez, that was a good idea...maybe she would have to try that out later and see for herself. Wait, did the spell work that way? Or did it simply return things to normal size?

Lars the canary heaved a sigh of relief and looked inquisitively at Carden as he began turning back into himself for the final time. Turning into a canary was all fine and dandy, but not when it happened multiple times in a row. Well, it was fine, but perhaps not for older men. He would have to remember not to try it again.

"Cedric was fastest? Excellent! Congratulations, Cedric!" Lars said with a grin. He began clapping for the boy. "You reduced it to a fine powder. I never would have thought of that, myself." Certainly not. He would be far too eager to just devour the pastry to worry about being sophisticated.

Aha. Lars had been positive that someone else would think to eat the pastry. Lars glanced at Cam to ensure that he was safe as he turned into a canary and back to himself. Excellent.

But oh! A question! Hmm... "That would not be vanishing it, per se, but it would get rid of it effectively. But, as you recall, you cannot apparate in or out of Hogwarts, so it does not really apply here," he told the girl with a kind smile.

"Thomas, my boy! Where's your pastry?" Lars patted Cedric's shoulder. "She wasn't asking if it would be easier, Cedric. She was just asking if it would work."

And what about Victoria? Lars glanced over at the girl and saw that half her pastry was gone. "Excellent, Victoria. Don't worry, we'll learn soon enough how to make the pastry completely disappear." Lars Svensson turned to his class. "Oh, and Lettie, as I just said, that would not be vanishing it, but it would be making it 'disappear'. I did not ask anybody to vanish anything, not yet anyway. So reducio worked wonderfully in this exercise."

"Now--you can see that we all had mixed results in making the pastries go away. There's got to be a more efficient, more dependable way to do these things, isn't there? After all, we do have wands." Lars hopped off his desk, withdrew a final pastry from his box, and carried it over to Clifford Carden's desk, and walked back to the front of the room.

"Who can tell me the incantation for the vanishing spell?"

Brants hand still raised he start to do like a wave dance to get the teachers attention!!.. "OH Professor is it "Evanesco" it makes it totally dissapear." brant said smiling.

Raising her hand, Anna said, "Professor, I'm Anna Greingoth, and perhaps Evanesco, a spell used to make object disappear completely, would have been useful." Anna glanced over at poor Cam, who'd managed to, of course, eat the thing and turn himself into a canary. Ahh, well. No need to worry. If that was indeed Canary Cream, he'd simply moult, then return to his normal self.

She smiled as he answered her question, 'Of course...but they still seem the same to me.'

WHOAHHHH. OMG OMG OMG. He turned into a freaking canary. Now he really did believe he could fly. Weeeeeeeee. And then his dreams were crushed after turning back into a human. Bleh. He raised his hand. "I believe that would be Evanesco, sir?"

What the-?! Nancy stared in slight disbelief, with her eyes widened in surprise, at Professor Svensson who had just now turned into a canary. And back again. And back into a canary. And back- Jeez! That was confusing. And all by just taking a bite of that strange pastry in his hands. And besides, what was he trying to prove? That he even looked handsome as a canary?! Which he uhm didn't. Cough.

Playing with the tip of her wand Nancy glanced around at the rest of the volunteers to see what they'd come up with to let their pastry disappear. Most of them had just used somekind of spell to destroy it or let it vanish or, like Cam had, had eaten theirs as well. She then directed her eyes at Clifford again to see who had won the contest and it turned out to be...the Professor himself. Okay...

"Umm,Prof is the incantation was the Reducto that I used to make the pastry vanished.?"Cedric asked

Ari's hand peaked slowly into the air once more, "Arienna Malone, sir--I believe the correct spell--the vanishing spell, that is, would be evanesco." Ari thought again. The vanising spell? Yes, evanesco. She lowered her hand, resting it back into her lap.

Lars paced in front of his desk, pausing in front of the box to withdraw birdcage, complete with his canary inside. Gripping the cage in his hand, he held it up for the class to see. "Someone please tell me--where is this cage?"

Gabriella raised her hand and said "I'm Gabriella Holden, Sir. I think the incantation is Evanesco but i'm not sure since i always thought that evanesco was an incantation my mum used when she cleaned around the house. It atlest sounded like that." Taking her hand down the blond blushed a little..

Oooh...a question! Even though Nancy was reaaallly slow with thinking it over she finally did, or at least she thought she did, find the answer and quickly raising her hand she said, "Sir, my name's Nancy. Nancy Hudonson. And I believe the answer is Evanesco."

Shaking her head slightly in confusion at the Professor's next question Nancy said reluctantly with her hand raised, "Uhm...in your hand, Sir." What was this about?!

Where is this cage? Erm.. what? Head tilting slightly in confusion, Clifford raised one hand hesitantly. "The cage is.. in your hand.. sir?" It was more of a question than an answer.. but yeah, he was slightly baffled.

Anna wrinkled her eyebrows in confusion as she stared at the cage. It was...in the man's hand...dangling in thin air, of course. The answer couldn't be that easy, though. Meh, if there was an answer, Anna didn't know it. She raised her hand once again. "It's in your hands, sir...dangling in thin air, while housing that bird," she said. "I suppose you could also say that it's simply existing within a given dimension."

"That is correct, Miss Hudonson! The cage is in my hand. Thank you for your prompt answer," he said.

Well. He certainly had never thought of it that way. "I suppose... it is surrounding the bird, as a matter of fact. Thank you, thank you."

His question answered, Lars pointed his wand at the bird cage, being very careful not to point at the bird. He twisted his wand hand slightly, and pronounced the spell very clearly--"Evanesco!"

And with that, the cage was gone, and Lars quickly held out his arm for Yellow the canary to perch on. When the bird actually landed on him, Lars beamed. There was a first for everything.

"Now where is the cage?"

Ari heard the professor pick up the metal cage, it made a faint metallic whine. She thought for a moment, a trick question? She raised her hand--again--"Arienna again, sir--The cage is in it's natural state in this dimention..." At the last few moments of sound, the statement turned up, into a question "...? Is that sort of what you're looking for, Sir," she laughed.

"The cage is here, as it should be," she tried to clarify.

Jake looked quizzically at the man. "It's there, sir," he explained, pointing at it. "Your hand, front of the class, Transfiguration Classroom, Hogwarts, United Kingdom, Europe, the Earth, the Solar System, Milky Way, the Universe."

Deciding now was a good time to shut up, Jake pointed again. "It's right there."

Or so we think...
