Oh, Nancy was so ready to try the spell. So ready. No, concentration! Clearing her throat Nancy sat up straight in her chair and raised her wand, not without a whispered "Have fun in Romania. Send me an owl" towards her snail, though. Now how did that work again? Draw a circle with your wand, then aim and then say the incantation, right? Or was it aim and then make the circle? No, it was the other way round. Hopefully...

Nancy exhaled deeply as she now drew a perfect circle into the air with her wand, then with a smirk on her lips aimed at her snail before exclaiming, "Evanesco!" Now, hopefully Speedy would have fun in Romania, maybe they would be reconju-

A small Splash! pulled her out of that stream of thought and with a small shriek Nancy had to realize that Speedy had not gone to Romania, nor had he gone somewhere else, unless the floor counted as well. No, her snail was still there, slowly creeping closer to her feet now but the reason it was on the floor was a rather bizarre one. Somehow she'd had to have aimed poorly as it was not the snail which had vanished but her whole desk. Taking a few steps back with a horror-stricken expression plastered across her face Nancy exclaimed, her voice slightly shaking, "Uhm...Sir? I think I might have a...uhm...problem there."

The game is up!

"Ahh," Jake nodded, eyeing the wand. "I wondered where that had got to," he smiled up at the man, noticing his serious look. EEEEP! Scawwy Pwofessah! "I understand sir, thank you for returning it..."

Looking from his wand to the professor as the man walked away. "By the way, sir," he called out, raising his hand a little. "Nice catch."

Hehe.

"Right, let's get this show on the road," Jake muttered to himself, pointing his wand at one half of the gummy worm, and doing the fiddly little circle, focusing a little too hard on holding the wand, and ending up saying the incantation late. "...Evanesco!"

WHOOSH!

The gummy worm zoomed off the table, directed at a certain Head Girl .

Kerplunk.

Anna slightly jumped back when an object---a small, ooey, gooey sticky one---landed on her desk with a sickening thump. What was---ohh, eww! It was that stupid mouse's foot that had come back to haunt her! Why couldn't the frazzling rodent just disappear all at once? If she wasn't so digusted with the fact that it's splenched foot was decorating her desktop, she'd feel sorry for the three-legged thing.

She knew what this was! This was exactly what she'd thought earlier when the professor was going on about how the non-being was everywhere all at once. She'd splenched the mouse's feet, and now all the parts of the rodent were floating around the room...everywhere. This was...

...oh, not a foot. Anna leaned in closer and took in the purplish-yellow tint of someone's ooey, gooey, yummy gummy worm!!!

She'd know that all along...erm, of course.

Yeah...

Scooping up the worm in between her fingers, Anna giggled and looked around for the poor youngster who'd lost it. "Yo, Upstead! Is this yours?" she asked, tossing the worm through the air and back to the boy.

Lars looked at the girl--oh, the Slytherin prefect. "I don't believe so," he said slowly. To be honest, he had never considered the animals' feelings. "The only distress they would suffer would be if someone poked them with their wand on accident, I suppose."

And now students wanted to practice more. Lars fished a bag of gummy worms from the bottom of his box and set it on the table. "If you've successfully vanished something and want to try again, there's more to vanish here on the table." He reached into the box and pulled out another box of snails and a box of mice, along with a small box of tree frogs for if anyone wanted some variety.

Glancing around at the sound of a shriek, Lars quickly stifled a snort. "That's no problem at all, young lady," he told Nancy. "You can just move to an empty desk along the windows or in the back, if you'd like. Just don't step on your snail."

Demetria took her gummy worm and set it on the desk. It was sooo tempting! She grabbed her wand and concentrated on the gummy worm. "Evanesco." she said. The gummy worm moved a little, but didn't dissapear. "Uhm, professor, did I do this right?" she asked.

She tried the spell "Evanesco" the shell disappeared by the body of the snail was there.

Raising his hand again, he calls to the professor "Sir, my snail is gone, but umm, I have a hole in my desk now..."

After finishing vanishing her gummy worm Lilly decided to try something harder so she got up and got herself a mouse. the little creature was so sqirmy she thought it would definitaly be a challenge. and it was. she tried 6 times before it worked. each time getting a little more frusterated. but she never gave up she was determined.

Okay. Time to try the spell... it seemed... Carefully arranging the worm on the desk, he gripped his wand and pointed it at the gummy worm. Keep your grip tight enough to hold onto your wand, yet loose enough that it wouldn't get upset at you for squishing it. Do the wand movement right. Pronounce the spell carefully. All these things circled in his head as he flicked his wrist.

"Evanesco."

Oh there we go. It disappeared slowly, but it was very definitely disappearing. Hooray! Raiden grinned happily and patted the desk where the worm had been just a moment ago. Nothing. He'd vanished it, yay.

Thomas took another snail he wanted to try again the spell so he moved his wand and pointed it on the snail and said,"Evanesco," and this time it worked he felt proud of himself.

Trixie got up and grasped a mouse and took it to her desk. She would now attempt to vanish it. "Evanes-hey!" she exclaimed. The mouse had tried to nibble her wand. She was about to cast the spell again when the mouse jumped off her table ran around her table. She bent down and was trying to catch it.

Lilly noticed the girl as her mouse tried to escape it was quite humorous in her opinion. however she decided to help her. it was the right thing to do

Satine practiced the hand motion for a while before trying it on her gummy worm..."Evanesco"...poof! Her gummy worm disappeared...she was very pleased to see this because many of the first years were still having issues with theirs..she heard the Professors offer up some more items to practice on...she walked to the front of the room and grabbed a snail not feeling confident enough to chase down a mouse and make it disappear...

Her snail gave her the sweetest face and as she listened to the Professor's explanation that it wouldn't hurt the snail, she flicked her wand in a tight circle and murmured the spell...her snail disappeared without any problems...all that was left was a slimy residue....

Still not feeling like chasing a mouse, she looked around and watched the other students with their first spell...her mom had taught her a lot of these spells and the wand motions, but she had never performed them...thank you mom!...she thought with a smile as she watched everyone working on the spell practice...

Finally...she grabbed a mouse and gave it a try..after three tries, her mouse had disappeared...well all of it but a small patch of hair...

She put her hand in the air, "Professors...Satine Farris...I'm afraid my mouse is going to have a bald spot...If I was to make this patch of hair disappear, when the mouse came back would the hair be attached?" she hoped she had phrased that right....

"Thanks," muttered Trixie to the girl. Eventually she caught the mouse and she put it on the table but held it firm. "I never caught you name..." said Trixie tilting her head. Hmm....she knew it began with L. She sat herself back down on the table and attempted the spell again.

Jack put his gummy worm onto his desk, pointed his wand at it, did the circle with his wand and said "Evansco." Jack waited and it started disappearing slowly. Very pleased with himself, he turned round and watched other first doing the spell.

Nancy's face flushed until her cheeks were of a bright scarlet color as the professor addressed her concerning her little incident. Why did these things always happen to her? Her light blue eyes directed at Professor Svensson Nancy cocked her head slightly to the side as he told her to just move to another desk which meant, of course, that she somehow had to take her snail along. Ew!

"Okay, sorry again about the desk, Sir." She muttered as she slowly bent down to where Speedy was already preparing to attack her. Bad idea little snail, very bad. Now how was she supposed to take the snail along without touching it, because she was certainly not going to touch that thing. Her face brightening a bit as a thought struck her Nancy quickly pointed her wand at Speedy and whispered, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Now, that was way better.

Very slowly and carefully the 14 year old got up from the floor again with her wand raised in front of her, the snail dangling in thin air in front of it. Taking a quick glance around Nancy's eyes fell on an empty desk in the way back of the classroom and with a small sigh she very slowly made her way towards it, trying her best to not hit somebody's head with her snail. Which wasn't exactly easy. At times it came extremely close to a student's face, not that Nancy noticed any of that because her full attention was directed at the snail and the charm which let it stay in the air.

After finally arriving at her new desk Nancy slowly placed Speedy back down onto it and with her wand forming a small circle she said a loud and clearly, "Evanesco!" and aimed at her snail. And this time it actually worked. Her snail was gone, finally! Yay!

Lettie got out of her seat and got a gummy worm, not wanting to banish any more animals to who knows where.
Placing the worm on the table, she poked it a few times with her wand. 'Why can't I just eat it...? I'm starvin'' She heard a few bangs and screams, but nothing to be alarmed about. Just minor accidents in the classroom.
Leticia took her wand and made a tight circle with her wand tip, 'Evanesco...evanesco...' "Evanesco." She said and watched as the worm vanished, though she didn't think it should take so much time to do so.

"Professor." Lettie asked and raised her hand, "Should the spell work right away? Because mine seems to kind of fade off rather than just *poof* vanish."

Hmmm... He glanced around at all the other students. They seemed to be having an easy time for the most part... Standing quickly, he went up to the boxes and looked in.

"Mice... might be too hard right this second," he admitted, patting one of them. Roscoe... would be so horrible in this class. Good thing he was up in the dorms. "I can try a snail though, right? That should be a little more challenging, but not too difficult..."

Picking one up with his thumb and forefinger, careful to not get the snailyness on his hand, he carried it back to his desk and set it down. Ewie... it was a good thing he'd learned that cleaning up spell already, because the snail was goopy and leaving ick all over his desk as it moved.

"Hi there Mr. Snail," Raiden said softly, sitting down and leveling his face with the desk. The snail lazed along, not bothered by his presence. "I know that you're probably very happy being a 'being' snail and all that, but I'mma vanish you, okay? You'll be all 'nonbeing' for a while, but maybe Professor Svensson will bring you back after class?"

He nodded resolutely, as if it would be reassuring to the snail to be vanished now if there was a promise of reappearing later. Pointing his wand at the creature, he smiled softly at it before casting.

"Sorry Mr. Snail." He flicked. "Evanesco!"

Well... that was just good luck that it just happened to land on that girl's desk. One of the few who would give it back. "Cheers, Anna," Jake grinned, catching in the air with his hand that was NOT holding his wand. That would be a disaster, no? "I suppose that was one way of getting rid of it, right?"

Okay... okay... he could get rid of it properly this time. YUS!

Jake pointed his wand at the well-travelled half of the gummy worm, and did the ole movement along with the incantation. "Evanesco!" he tried, daring himself to watch. Maybe it was just him, but some of the fingerprints on it definitely vanished, oh yes they did.

"Evanesco," ... the grime vanished.

"Evanesco," ... it got smaller, just a tad, but it definitely got smaller.

...

Fifteen tries later, and that half of the worm was successfully gone. "Yessss!" Jake grinned, before the other half of his worm caught his eye. "Oh... that's okay..." he tried to reassure himself. "Just more enthusiasm."

"Evanesco!" Jake exclaimed, and then yelped... for his gummy worm had melted.

AWESOME!

There was no denying it, Jake was eating the melted gummy worm. It burnt his fingers, and his tongue... BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS! And soooo muuuuch suuugarrrrrr...

Of course, now Jake needed to get another worm... and hopefully not accidentally grab a mouse or a snail, because he wouldn't want to accidentally eat them... they had no sugar.

Oh, and he didn't want to kill them, that was important too.

Before he could test the spell on it, Cam held the gummy worm and well... he wanted one NOW. Not later. NOW. He wondered if he could just eat a tiny piece of it and pretend nothing really happened, but there were too many people that he could've gotten caught. Putting it back on the desk, he held his wand up hiiiiigh and then pointed it straight at the edible candy worm. He would have done better with a snail because he kept getting distracted... by its heavenly goodness. He tried to do the wand movement again just to make sure that he had done it right.

"Evanescoooo." Wait, no, bleh, he forgot most spells had to be precise. But he watched the worm to see if he had any luck. He poked it. Hmm. Nothing. Not even a piece of it disappeared. "EVAN-ESCO." This time he put a little bit more force in his words and wand movement. OOOOOOOH. It wiggled. WIGGLED, I TELL YA. "Iiiit wiggleddd!"

Wiggling > Vanishing when it comes to worms.

Herminny looked at the things in front of her and wondered which one she wanted to make disapear first. She noticed the mouse was trying to scury off and it was creeping her out so she decided to make it for first taget. Herminny concentrated intently on making the mouse disapear as she flicked her wand in the sharp circular motion and said, "evanesco", and sure enough the mouse disapeared. She smiled and as a reward for herself grabbed the gummy worm and ate it but looked around intently to make sure the professor was'nt watching as she did it. Then she moved onto slug and thought ewe as she she saw the slmy resudue the slug was leaving on her desk and she quickly picked up her wand and concentrated intently the slug and waving it in a sharp circular motion and said, "evaneso" and the slug disapeared leaving only it's shell and gross slimy mess. Herminny wondered if she could get rid of the slime using the same spell and took out her wand and waved int in the same sharp cicular motion concentrating on making the slime disapear and said, "evanesco", and sure enough that worked and she smiled and started to look around to see how her classmates were doing and smiled at seeing most of them were doing great.

She went to get another snail, said the spell again and this time it worked.

For once the mouse stayed still in its place. "Evanesco," she said whilst flicking her wand. Wow! It worked this time! The mouse had dissapeared. She smiled even wider knowing that she was getting the hang of it. She went up to the front again and this time took out a snail. The frog would get on her nerves for sure so she would first try the snail. She walked back to her table ready to perform the spell again.

"no problem, my name is Lilly." she said sticking out her hand. "do you need help with the spell i got it on my first try?" she asked.

Jack was slightly disappointed that he hadn't gotten a mouse to practice with--he did, after all, like the challenge of Transfiguration and felt that practicing on a snail would be toooo easy, but he accepted his fate and stared down at the little guy as he practiced the wand movement. There. Circle. That wasn't hard at all.

He looked around the room and wrinkled his eyebrows. Everyone seemed to be having varying levels of success. Sighing, and taking comfort in the fact that probably NO ONE was watching him, he did the wand movement and muttered "Evanesco". He watched as the snail vanished but--his shell didn't. He watched in amazement as the shell floated in mid-air and slowly moved down the desk before the snail finally reappeared. Well, something had obviously gone wrong.

Clearing his throat, he raised his wand again and waved it. "Evanesco!" he muttered, with a bit more force this time. He grinned in amusement as the whole snail vanished this time--granted, he could KIND of see it a bit still, but like, 90% of it was gone. He was getting there.

A strange smell met his nostrils and looked at the desk nearby to see--a little Huffie kid eating a melted gummy worm. OOOOOOOOH, that looked GOOD. And he didn't even like gummy worms that much! But it smelled all sugary and delicious from over there. "Hey, is that any good?" he asked the little kid with a grin. He was curious.
