A big smile crossed Raiden's face. "I'm just glad you're here... I'm sure everyone misses you as much as I do! It seems like all my older friends... are leaving. First Nicholai didn't come back, and now you, and... well, what if Celandine decides she's not gonna come back next term or something, you know? Everyone's not coming back! It's weird."

He took a sip of his butterbeer and was silent as the person came over to refill Miss Kayla's glass. When she started talking about Celandine Toussaint, however, his ears betrayed him by starting up the scale towards red. Did... Wait. Had she just said... what he thought she had said?! He choked on butterbeer and coughed.

"Wh-WHAT?!" he spluttered. "Wh-when did that happen?!"

Celandine hadn't said anything to him about it... but then again he hadn't really gotten to talk to her much since they'd chatted in the hall. When she'd told him that he wasn't allergic to her. And she liked someone else. His stomach twisted slightly.

"I didn't even know." Why hadn't she... told him? Didn't she trust him anymore, because he like liked her? Maybe that was it? If that was it... he would be very sad.

Last year they had just missed out on the house cup by a couple of hundred points and now they were last by a lot apparently. "Well unfortunately Nicholai and I couldn't be helped. Family issues and all that but I don't think you have anything to worry about with Celandine, she'll be around for a while."

It was then that Kayla, finally realised that Raiden blushed everytime Celandine's name was mentioned. A knowing smile touched her lips as she remembered their conversation at Cela's birthday party. Oh Raiden, don't even go there.

"Well I wouldn't get too excited just yet if I were you Raiden, I am not sure if it's true or just a rumor at the moment. Besides if it is true, I don't think she will be alone for long." Kayla was pretty sure that one Copernicus Kettleburn will be there to help her get over her heartbreak. But who was going to be there for Plymouth? Kayla felt another twinge again, there was no way anyone could know.

So... yeah. Jake had stayed extremely quiet after the hug ~~where the other boy had somehow become integrated into it~~. Still... Now Kayla was sitting between them, talking to Raiden...

Hmmmm...

He didn't want to be there. Well... he DID. But he didn't.

Jake didn't like sharing people, he was a very jealous boy and it SHOWED!

Fidgeting and squirming, Jake tried to edge away from Kayla so he could go again. He was feeling quite... sad. Yes... yes, in simple terms, Jake was feeling sad.

Like... he needed his best friend.

But he couldn't HAVE his best friend, not the old one, as he'd poured ice cream on the kid's head and down his shirt.

Maybe it was just a way of grabbing the attention, though he would never admit it... because he didn't realise, but Jake tried to inch away from the two so he could wander around for a bit. Maybe speak to Lawson later? Chyeah, right. He was kinda hoping that Kayla would force him to stay.

"I don't care what we do," he mumbled, gazing ahead of him into space, not really thinking, nor really trusting himself to. Once again, he shut his eyes. He'd already gotten upset once today, he didn't want that happening again.

Just... just sit here, and think about aaaaaaall the power you will someday have. Y'all won't need to rely on people to make you happy.

Raiden smiled softly when Miss Kayla kissed him on the forehead. How long had it been since someone had done that? And it had probably been his mum doing it. While it should have been slightly embarrassing, it really wasn't.

"Of course I'll owl you!" He said absently, turning his butterbeer bottle on the table in front of him. "I just... got caught up with the flooding and did you know that the professors had to save Roscoe, because he was down there when it started? And... all this other stuff got in my head, and made me all... fuzzy."

Hmmm. If she had just found out, then maybe it hadn't happened to long ago. Which meant that Cela might not be upset with him for having a crush on her, and she might not... be really sad? Maybe? Hopefully. He tried to think of where she might be right now... Common room? Or wandering around Hogsmeade? Hopefully she wasn't alone, if she was upset.

"If you don't want to talk about it just yet, that's fine. When you are ready I'll be here to listen. Tell me about Charlie then, how is he doing? Has he gotten any bigger?" She was actually tempted to rock him back and forth, he just seemed to need comforting at the moment.

Sitting here with the two boys acting like a mother did not seem at all weird to her. In fact she was enjoying it immensely, it was certainly coming in handy and she chuckled softly at the thought.

What if nobody saved him?

In actual fact, the spider had been saved. Problem was that Jake had absolutely no idea of this, nor where anyone was who could tell him this. He didn't really want to ask, either, out of fear of hearing the worst.

Mrpfh. Snuggles again... as much as he liked being snuggled by Miss Kayla, the idea that he was apparently so blatantly obvious about like liking Cela made him pout, and he flailed weakly.

"It's... not a good thing! There's a lot of boys that like her and she said I don't look at her like I'm cold and she's the only thing that can warm me up and it's not like I want to like her like that, I don't want to!" he exhaled sharply, indignantly. "I'm her friend and to want anything other than that from her isn't fair. I'm not being fair to her, and I'm afraid that..." His voice halted; it hadn't been very loud to begin with, but it shrank down to barely a barely audible whisper before he continued. "...she won't want to be my friend anymore."

He sank back onto the chair, which had somehow managed to stay righted despite his flail right off of it, and resigned himself to Miss Kayla's snuggle. Really, it was actually comforting at the moment, and it kept him from smashing his forehead repeatedly off the table, an option which was looking increasingly good now.

"The flooding... I don't think anyone knows what's going on yet," he mumbled. "At least, the professors haven't let on that they know..."

Kayla let go of Raiden for the moment and wrapped Jake up into her arms and she couldn't help the tears that spilled from her own eyes. It killed her when something happened to creatures. "Oh Jake, I am so sorry." She didn't know what else to say. If she knew for sure that the castle wasn't going to go underwater she would have given him Webster, it would kill her to do it but she would have.

Raiden felt a strange whine creep up his throat when Miss Kayla said that Cela would still be his friend even with this whole like like thing. Would she really? Even if it was completely unfair to her? And... Nothing serious? But... she felt like fire. That wasn't NORMAL. How could that not be serious? It was a big problem, for him at least.

"Are you sure about that?" he asked, small voice full of doubt. "I don't... want to lose her friendship." He felt the slight change in Miss Kayla's stance and looked up at her face; Merlin's PANTS! She was CRYING?! Raiden wrapped his arms around her tight as he could and squeeezed. "Miss Kayla! Why are you crying?! Are you okay?"

Everything was so messed up lately! This thing with Celandine, and Kiri, and now Miss Kayla was here and she was crying and this just wasn't RIGHT.

He had to nod, just had to. Kayla had hit the nail on the head, so to speak. THAT was the problem, among other things, but then with the other things, it always then went on to that problem. It was... not good.

But at least he got a niiiiiiiice big hug, right? Well, yeah. If only the circumstances were a little different.

And THEN Jake went and witnessed one of the ~~few~~ many things he did not want to ever see in his life. Someone who he turned to for help, crying... crying her eyes out.

Metaphorically speaking.

Okay, so... had it been someone else... sayyyyyy his siter.. or his mother... Jake would have just legged it. Out of the pub and as faaaaaaaar away as he could. As it was, he was still considering that, but the mere thought that he had considered staying, told him that he wanted to stay.

So, rubbing his red eyes, Jake just sat there, wide-eyed, watching. Raiden was hugging her... yes... she'd be fine.

Maybe.

But still, just like when he'd seen Kazi crying, Jake just sat dead still and watched, in a little shock.

Okay, so... had it been someone else... sayyyyyy his siter.. or his mother... Jake would have just legged it. Out of the pub and as faaaaaaaar away as he could. As it was, he was still considering that, but the mere thought that he had considered staying, told him that he wanted to stay.

So, rubbing his red eyes, Jake just sat there, wide-eyed, watching. Raiden was hugging her... yes... she'd be fine.

Maybe.

But still, just like when he'd seen Kazi crying, Jake just sat dead still and watched, in a little shock.

If something else were to happen, however, you wouldn't see him for dust.

She had no idea why she was crying. Well yes she did but she wasn't about to tell these two boys why. Kayla let Raiden hug her and she looked at Jake through her tears and yep she was freaking them out good and proper.

"I'm sorry. I - I'm supposed to...to...be helping...you...two." She took a deep shuddering breath and waited for her tears to subside. This was so annoying and so not her but these two boys had just brought it out in her. "Life is just very stressful for me right now. I guess I am jealous of you two being able to go to school and seeing your friends and your biggest worry is girls or staying out of detention." She gave them both a faint smile and she wiped the last of the tears from her face.

"To answer your question Raiden. Yes I am sure Celandine will still be your friend and I think in time another girl will come along and take your fancy and you will forget all about your crush on Celandine Toussaint." She gave him another kiss on the forehead before turning back to Jake.

"And you need to trust that there are people who care about you and will do all they can to be there for you. Your DADA Professor, obviously cares enough to send a message to someone he doesn't even know personally but knew enough that it would make you happy." Kayla lent down and kissed him on the forehead as well. "You need to let them in Jake, so that they can help you."

She picked up her glass of water and took a good mouthful and eyed the boys over the rim of her glass. "So I could so with some of Honeydukes famous fudge. What about you two? My shout of course."

... Okay, now that wasn't the fairest assumption to make. Jake's biggest worry was not staying out of detention. Not that by FAR. He was losing his mind, like, seriously. Heck, Jake was going off to St. Mungo's in the Christmas holiday. Fun, huh?

But he didn't point that out. It... probably wasn't the smartest thing to say. So instead, Jake sat quietly where he was and regarded Kayla for a second, thinking. He said nothing, not wanting to make himself known at the moment. Picking up the untouched bottle of butterbeer that Lawson had bought for him, Jake downed the whole bottle before setting it down on the table and staring into space.

Let Lawson in? He could... try. GAH! Maybe... who knew.

In reference to the Honeydukes thing, Jake shrugged his shoulders and gazed out of the window again. He had recently seveeeerely lost his appetite for anything, even sugar... but... he'd go along, of course.

Isabella walked in pulled a chair by the corner near the window and waited for her friends to come by.till her friends came by she ordered for a butterbeer and enjoyed its rich taste.

Satine was so excited for today! How exciting a Birthday Party... She walked into the Three Broomsticks and tried to find her friends. She looked at her present for Vicky...she knew it was absolutely perfect. She had wrapped it in a terracotta colored bag with pink and blue stripes on it with yellow tissue paper sticking out. She couldn't wait for things to get started. Before sitting down, she ordered a butterbeer and a glass of ice. She was probably the only person who liked ice in her butterbeer.

As she waited for her two glasses, she turned to see Bella sitting in the corner. "Hey girl!" she said with a quick wave.

Jule walked into the there broomsticks early. She had to sure everything was in place.
"Everything seems to be in place." she smiled and kept walking. She noticed Isabella and walked over to her.
"I can see you're early." she smiled and sat down with her.

Laura rushed into the Three Broomsticks, grabbed a Butterbeer, then spun around. She hoped she wasn't late, that would be horribe. However, she noticed that Isabella, Jule and Satine were the only ones heere yet, and so headed over to them.

"Hi guys!" she said, really please to see them all, for she hadn't seen them for a while. "So, go you're prezzies?!" Laura heself was clutching a small purple wrapped present, adorned with silver and lilac ribbon.

Laura smiled at Isabella. "I don't know where Vicky is, or what's gonna happen when she gets here! Satine and Jule did all of the planning!" Laura grinned. Oh, surprise parties were always fun!
