"Awesome trick." she told him. Dem wished she could do something like that. "Nope, I can't do any awesome tricks. Sorry to dissapoint." she smiled. Why was it all of her friends could do cool stuff? Xeh's eyes were mood changing, Kairi was an airbender, and Sneeze with his furry little problem. Dem was just......Dem.

"Well, Demetri, I think your name is pretty cool." she smiled at him. "I'm Demetria, third year Gryffindor." she told him. "I wonder why I haven't seen you around the common room." she asked herself out loud. "So, can you do any other cool tricks?" she asked.

Demetri and Demetria.. haha Funny how alike thier names were. The thougt brought a smile to Demetris lips as he ran a hand through his hair. "Ahh you didnt disappoint. Im glad your normal.. well as normal as any wizard could possibly be." he said looking out over the cliffs. "Im tired of almost every wizard being able to do stuff. But if it bothers you i wont impress you anymore with my tricks." he said with a smirk twilring his wand around.

Demetria smiled. Finally someone who appreciated her normalness. "I like your tricks. They don't bother me." she told him. Sometimes people who could do cool stuff entertained her. Only rarely did it bother her. Like Kairi's trick, that bothered her. It wasn't fun when one minute she had her best friend and the next some demon who was threatening to kill her. But on the other hand, Sneeze's trick was awesome. Demetria liked being one of the few people who knew about it. It made her feel special.

"So does your 'trick' run in the family, or did you just happen to figure that out all by yourself?" she asked him.

He could feel his lips curl at the ends as she said ehr tricks didnt bother her. Good. Cause he probably wouldnt stop doing them anytime soon. Looking over at her he watched as she looked lost in thought. It was funny how someone remembered memories very easily.

"As a matter of fact... my parents are talented but... I dont think that it runs in the family. They are strictly by the book.. Im a little rebellious with my magic." he said smiling at the thought.

James had spaced out and saw Demetria and Shaylee. "Hey. Nothing really. Just playing around with this muggle t.v. remote. It's actually pretty fun."

Demetria smiled at him. "Well, what fun is magic if you can't get a bit rebellious." she agreed. Normally, she was against breaking the rules, but there was something about Demetri that made her want to take a risk. Something about him.....intrigued her. "Is that the only thing you can do?" she asked.

Demetri winked at her after she said what fun is magic if you can't get a bit rebellious. He liked her way of thinking. "Your right. Doing it simply by the book is no fun... would you really just want to learn the simple spells and the easy spells and get bored with those.. or the spells that you have no idea what is going to come out of it?" he asked with a smirk. "There have been a couple of times.. I might have not done a spell but most of the time.. the spells are harmles.." this was true. Most of the spellls he had just picked up from somewhere were harmless.

Is that the only thing you can do? She obviously hadnt been around him long. He was constantly doing little tricks that he had learned ages ago. "Nahh.. I got.. a few up my sleeve." he siad with a playful eyebrow wiggle. pointing his wand out to the lake, a little shake and alot of concentration.. the giant squid emerged out of the lake and tap dancing. Demetri wasnt controlling him. No he just made what squid do what it wanted to learn how to do most.

Ryder let the way to the cliffs still holding on to Sarahs hand. He stood for a moment, just looking out at the lake before he turned to her and asked, "Is the view as good as you thought?" He wondered if he should finally ask her what he'd wanted to for a long time, but he couldn't bring himself to just yet.

Sarah stood next to Ryder after he had led them to the small cliff from the shoots.Looking out,as was he,it was actually nice to see things from a different angle for once.This was the first time she had been up here in her three Hogwarts years and it struck her how little she actually knew of the surrounding grounds.
Removing her hand from Ryder's grip,Sarah put her arm round his waist and leaned in,mulling over his question. "Yes it is.The lake really is beautiful,don't you think?" she asked,glancing up at him.

"Yes, it really is," he agreed, silently adding that it would be better if the water would stay there. "So how have you been recently?" he asked her, pulling his hand from hers to wrap it around her shoulders.

His free hand went into his pocket, where he still had the newspaper clipping.

Whitney walked up to the cliff and stared down into the water. Even if the cliff wasn't extremely high, her tummy still felt woozy looking down. She backed away from the edge, for fear of falling, and sat down, legs crossed, staring off into the water, wondering if anyone she knew would randomly show up. It really was a lovely day to be outside.

"S'up, Fanta!" Torin called up as he walked towards the cliff. He had seen the girl sitting there all alone and remembered her as the one who offered him a Fanta when she didn't even have one. He took a seat on the ground beside her and looked over the edge of the cliff. It was a really nice day out, he saw.

Just as she really began to enjoy the silence she heard someone yell the weirdest thing. 'Fanta?....I could reeaally use some Fanta right now.' Then she saw a very good looking (;]) guy sit down next to her. Why did he look so familiar? 'His name starts with a T...I think....Teddy? Tommy?....Bob?!?!' Trying not to show she couldn't exactly remember who he was she put on a huge smile and said, "Hoooolaaaa!" Think. Think. Thiiiink!!! And that was when his name came to her. "Hey Torin," she finally said with a nervous laugh, "I haven't seen you in a quite. A. While."

Noting that she seemed a little uncomfortable or something, he decided to ignore it. Hopefully his presence here wasn't putting her off or something. 'cause that would be just rude if it was! Instead, he just smiled back at her and said, "hey, Whit. I haven't seen you either. What's been up with you?" Since this girl was like in her Third Year, she didn't have anything like OWLs. So what was she absent most of the Term?

'Okay good, that's his name.' She let out the breath she didn't know she was holding and felt more comfortable. Surely his name wasn't Bob. DUH! "Not much, I've just been locked up in the Tower and what not. You know, it's weird, no matter how afraid of heights I am, I love being higher than I should be." It was sad but true. Once she forgot about how high up she was she just stared out into the view. It always was great. There was silence for half a minute or so because she was doing that same thing now, but caught herself in time, she hoped. "I mean, I come down to eat, of course, with all the food I eat and what not, but I've never seen you...or at least I don't think I have." Oh great, what if he saw her and waved but she didn't wave back or something. Now she felt horrible, she would never do that intentionally of course. That would just be plain rude, sure he knew that she would yell hello very loud and give a dorky wave, even if they didn't know each other well...right?

He nodded as she started to ramble. He wasn't sure why she was telling him half the things she was, but whatever.. "So you're afraid of heights, but you still come to a cliff?" He couldn't help but laugh a little. He didn't mean to seem rude, but he just found that sorta funny.

"Yeah, I haven't really been in the towers much. Mostly in the grounds. I'm with Reese a lot." He nodded at her.

Yeah, so Whit gave a little too much information like...all the time, so what? "Umm...yeah." she replied and felt her cheeks turn pink. If only she could have said that she was in the towers or something. Nooo she had to go off and give her whole life story. "I'd never come over here before and I had nothing else to do so I figured, 'hey, why not?'"

"Well I would be in the dungeons, but you know, I can't." She really did miss the dungeons. After two years there, they became pretty homey. "Oh really?" she asked, a little surprised. Whit was just friends with the girl and she hadn't seen her at all the whole term. It was a shame, really. "I should go find her, I saw you more recent then I saw her." 'Should I ask?' Last time she heard, Reese liked Jack but it'd been a while. Were Torin and Reese together???

"Exactly. I mean I'm sure the best wizards in the world didn't get they way they did by following by the book." she told him. Demetria wasn't quite sure she would just cast something and hope it didn't kill someone, but it would be exciting to be a bit rebellious. Oh no. She was starting to sound like her brother Danny. His evilness was starting to rub off on her. 'What he doesn't know won't hurt me.' she thought to herself.

Demetria watched wide-eyed as Demetri made the giant squid dance. It was a bit.....frightening, but cool at the same time. How did he learn that?? "Did you teach yourself all of these?" she asked him. "Where did you learn them?"

Resting her head as close to his shoulder as she could get (she is rather a shortie),Sarah sighed and continued looking out over the lake,watching the water ripple as the creatures under the surface moved about.It wasn't until Ryder asked her a question that she realised she must have been in a daydream. "Huh? Oh,yeah I've been fine,thanks," she smiled,glancing into his face. "Just busy with school work.How about you? You said something about wedding information you'd found? Tell me about it!" Moving from Ryder's side,Sarah found a piece of ground that looked reasonably comfortable and sat down,ready to hear all about his discovery.

Ryder went and sat down beside her, ignoring how cold the ground was. He stuck his hand into his pocket and pulled out the ageing newspaper clipping. He'd folded it and unfolded it so many times now that it was begining to become pretty worn out. He handed it to Sarah wordlessly and waited a moment before he said anything. "It's a wedding announcement," he told her. "I was so happy and pleased when I found it, and just glad that her life turned out okay," he said. He paused for a minute, and then pulled the other clipping that he had found out of his pocket and handed it to her. "A birth announcement," he said, "she named her first born after me." he finished, a note of pride in his voice.

Smiling Sarah leant forward and took the discoloured paper from Ryder's hand.Quietly she read,taking in every word,as well as listening to what he said about it.She was so pleased that he finally found something about his sister,all the hard work and long hours he'd put in in the library had paid off.But she couldn't help feeling a twinge of sadness that he never got to be there for it in the flesh.
Refolding the paper as carefully as she could,Sarah handed it back to him,before taking the other he was offering her. "I'm glad you found out what happened to her,Ryder,and that she lived a good life! And a baby named after you,how lovely!" She was starting to tear up now,but tried to hide it by blinking furiously and pretending to cough.The last thing she wanted was to drip over this precious piece of paper.
Again folding it carefully,Sarah placed it in her lap and looked back over to Ryder.A thought had come to her,one she decided to share.... "You know...maybe you still have family around? If your sister had children they might have had some too,and so on.Your great great nieces and nephews could be alive,if you know what I mean." She bit her lip and tilted her head to the side,hoping that she hadn't said the wrong thing.

She looked worried for some reason, but Ryder couldn't figure out why. Pushing it aside for now he said, "you know, I've thought about that. But everytime I always come to the conclusion that it may be better not to. Can you imagine how weird that would seem for them? I think I'd much just rather leave things how they are now..though it is tempting," he added on at the end, a regretful expression in his eyes.

He paused for a minute, just enjoying the silence before he said, "you know, Sarah, I really appreciate everything you've said to me, it really has helped."

"I suppose you're right," she sighed,turning over onto her front and laying flat out,looking over the edge of the cliff and down to the water. "It probably would be strange to have your great great grandmother's brother suddenly turn up," she had to agree with him on that.It would more than likely give her an attack of some sort if she was in that situation,being a muggle-born,though,it was unlikely ever to happen.Leaning on her elbow she looked sideways at him and shrugged slightly. "Don't rule out the possiblity of looking though will you? I'd love for you to find living family,even if you don't approach them..."

Nodding her head at the words,she turned her attention back to the view as the conversation lulled and the birds overhead cawed.When Ryder spoke again it seemed like forever had passed.He appreciated it? She hadn't really done anything,and said so... "Oh I've not done much.A bit of encouragement,really,but I'm glad you feel like it helped you." Reaching out she took hold of his hand again and gave it a warm squeeze.

It was at times like these that Ryder regretted spending so much time in the libary this term. He squeezed her hand in reponse, and breathed in deeply and let it out. This was going to seem sudden to her, but he'd been wanting to ask her for so long that it seemed along time coming to him. He turned slightly to face her, and smiled down at her. Taking another deep breath he thought that if he didn't do it now, he never would. "Sarah," he began, "would you like to be my girlfriend?" After it was out, he felt better, but a second later he wondered if he asked right.
