Zan got a slightly hurt expression at the 'whatever', still not quite following. He kept hold of her arm though and quietly turned his attention to the corpse flower.

William followed along like a little lost puppy, which in a way he was; if he got lost or something then one of those plants would eat him, and his shoes (which wouldn't be a bad thing) and then he'd be out of luck. Stopping when he saw Bunbury stop he took a small sniff and wrinkled his nose. "eww." he muttered, gazing around her to look at the really really ugly plant that had yet to bloom.

She looked up now but not at Ethan, choosing instead to stare in the distance at the titan arum. He still had her arm though, she didn't miss that.

Ethan scratched his head with his free hand. He thought he could understand and speak Bunz, but apparently not.

"Ah... Is this about Axe?" He asked, mentally running through his admittedly short list of friends and coming up with the only one they really had directly in common.

A plant with a HIDEOUS scent? Was that possible?? Because AAAALLL plants were loving things and why would they want to smell... baaaad? It was called a corpse flower AND it had bad smell? Poor plant. Abused by humans who give them FALSE names. Hmph. He wanted to go and pet the plant. To make the plant his friend! And then...

Sniff.

WHAT. WAS. THAT? Cam could have SMELLED something so revolting. Like... like dead fish. MEEEEEEEEEEEERRRPEEOPLE. Merpeople on the loose? MERPEOPLE ON THE LOOOSE?! Cam clutched to his holster, ready to take his wand out and cast some spells!

He glanced at the plant. Whoah. No way. Huge plant. HUUUUGE plant. It was like... aaawweeesome. BIG ENOUGH TO PUT A MERPERSON IN THERE? HM? GAAASSSP.

"No...." Annie let out a loud sigh like she often did when explaining elementary Herbology to first years. She dropped her voice and kept back from the stinky flower and the students. "I was actually talking about that... woman... your girlfriend Miss Avalon. I was rather uh, disappointed," heartbroken, more like, "that you don't tell me things like that, Ethan. Of course, who you spend your time with is none of my business, but I thought you might have mentioned something about her sooner."

It wasn't like Anastasia had many friends, but she thought that was one detail she might have been privy to.

Ethan blinked slowly.

"I'd have thought, as friends that you'd have talked to me instead of assuming things, Annie."

He dropped her arm and stiffly turned to face the corpse flower. He didn't move away though it was obvious that he was offended or perhaps even hurt.

"Oooh...That would be nice." Vanessa nodded, with a smile. She especially wanted to go say goodbye to Professor Morgan, for the woman had helped her so much, but she also needed to say a special goodbye to Professor Bunbury to, so they should do it one by one.
"Yes..Pinnk!" She giggled, knowing Miles didn't like pink that much. "Look!" She pointed at one, with the hand that wasn't holding his, and smiled. They were oh so pretty.

Ooh. But Professor BunBunz was moving on. And because she was a PINNKK lady she just HAD to follow her. "Come on Miles." She pulled his hand a little, before following BunBunz.

"They aren't true." Ethan answered immediately, though he kept his voice quiet so that, apart from Anastasia Bunbury's body language, it appeared that the two professors were merely discussing the oh so pleasant business of corpse flowers.

There were students everywhere, what more could he safely say? Though a part of him much preferred the idea of taking refuge somewhere, possibly in his shared office, he placed his hand tentatively on her shoulder.

It almost felt like a weight had been lifted from Anastasia's shoulders, though that feeling was quickly replaced by a distinct embarrassed blush on her face. Good thing it was dark outside.

"Oh," was all she said, not moving away from Ethan's touch. Lovely corpse flower. Lucky corpse flower. Annie slightly wished she was a corpse now and could just... decompose into the ground. "Yes Ethan," she answered automatically, in a voice slightly higher than normal. "It's rather hot out here, isn't it? Only makes that flower smell worse. Ha. Ha. Haha." Way to change the subject, Bunny. Now you're just half an idiot instead of a complete one.

Ethan remained quiet for almost a full minute, then he leaned down and gently and briefly brushed his lips against her cheek.

He straightened up again and looked out at the corpse flower. "It is a little warm out... Professor Bunbury." Ethan agreed, a little mortified and sort of waiting for her to hex him or something.

Or you know, lose his job because of the probation and all.

At the sound of a slight rip, the lily floated across the pond, taking all its occupants with it. A few moments later, Anna smelled a light frangrance in the air, pineapple-ish if she wasn't mistaken. Apparently she'd need to keep the scent close at hand due to some...titan arum...that had yet to bloom. She peered into the water, trying to get a good glimpse of something or another, but Professor Bunbury started talking again, so she glanced right back up at her.

Interesting activity? Ohh, that sounded...well, interesting. A muggle trampoline?!? She'd heard of those! Muggles jumped up and down on them in an attempt to fly to the skies just like wizards and witches did...right? Only, they didn't fly as high or as fast. A bouncing bulb trampoline sounded really awesome, though! Her eyes flicked from the buncing bulb to the professor, who was currently headed down a long pathway. The pathway looked really interesting, too, and Anna wondered where it led to. With a shrug, she hopped off the lily pad and followed the professor.

Alright so Annie hadn't magically decomposed yet nor turned into a corpse nor a corpse flower but she was slowly turning a pink color similar to the blooming lilies. And that little kiss didn't help.

"It's lovely weather though, I'd say, Professor Truebridge." Anastasia cleared her throat awkwardly, then grabbed Ethan's hand and gave it a squeeze before abruptly letting go. She could have said something else but the students were... still around. Not many had been distracted by the bouncing lily pad, unfortunately, so she had to take care of them first.

She stepped out into the moonlight and wandered around to the far side of the corpse flower, pinching the tip of her nose slightly at the STANK. Ugh. Now she was going to sound like a duck when she talked. "So, students, tell me what you all know or have observed so far about this... fragrant flower."

No hexing?

Good. That was good.

"Yes, lovely... weather." Ethan agreed and drew his wand out. He cast a bubble head charm on himself so he did not have to deal with the stink and just stood there idly rubbing his hand and watching the corpse flower.

Okay. This flower stunk! But oh. Oh. That certainly did not stink! Vanessa's eyes widened as right at the moment that she had taken her eyes from Miles, to look at Professor Bunbury, she got kissed on the cheek by Professor Truebridge. Oh really. In front of all these students?
She smirked, as she watched them for a few moments, before looking at Miles. Lyra just HAD to know about this.
Oh...but now Professor Bunbury had asked them something. "Erm...It smells?" She smirked at Professor Bunbury after she had spoken. Yes she had seen.

Cam held his nose, dead fish. Merpeople smell--almost. Ew. Ew. Ew. He took a step back and eyed the flower who... he assumed was the smelly thing? POOOOOOOR FLOWER. Though it was HUGE. Like, mighty big. "It's got a huge tongue sticking out of it." Yes. Tongue. He tilted his head at the mer-flower.

William frowned, trying not to breath in too much. "That bad smelling things come in nice looking ways." he replied breathing through his mouth instead of his nose. yup, this plant looked lovely, but it smelled nasty. He kept focusing on the plant and not the spell, thinking of the pinapple-y smell of the other plants.

Okay so he knew that he wasn't exactly into the whole Herbology thing but he had been trying to be look interested for Annie's sake. And well it was his own fault that he had let his mind wander off as he stuffed his face full of chocolate. So by the time he had finally broken out of his reverie, he looked up to see Ethan giving Annie a kiss on the cheek.

Marcus, put the chocolate down that he had been holding and felt his stomach clench uncomfortably. It seems that he was always going to come second to someone else where Annie was concerned. He sighed deeply as he stuck his hands in deep into his pockets and started shuffling toward the exit. So much for the new start at Hogwarts, he felt just as bad now as he had done all those years ago when she had left him then.

Victoria decided to come back down to the party and see if Kevin was still down here. She looked round to see if she could find him.

She turned toward Karsten and tilted her head slightly, blinking at the boy for a few moments. "Tongue? Are you referring to the spadix or the spathe, boy?" Because this thing did not have a tongue, ew no. It wasn't an ANIMAL. Duh.

While waiting for an answer, Anastasia's thoughts drifted toward the back of the group and she just happened to notice two shadowy figures - one leaving and one coming back in. Who was leaving though, she had no clue, but she couldn't mistake the little Ravenclaw looking about.

"Victoria. How kind of you to join us - come, come closer and smell the Titan arum," she ordered invited the girl, beckoning with her hand.

She followed and wondered what plant she was talking about, she was still looking around for Kevin as they stopped in front of a plant.

Satine had never heard of the plant that the professor was ushering a small group of students to, so she snuck into the group and tried to blend so that it looked like she had been there the whole time. She was so excited about plants tonight...two points for the professor for making this learning fun..she thought to herself...

Victoria wrinkled her nose when she had realised that they had stopped in front of the Corpse flower.

Via had finally decided to go down the garden party. It's not as if there's a garden party at Hogwarts every year, she thought. She marched towards the crowd of students and looked for a friend she could join. Seeing Victoria stopping in front of a flowering plant she smiled and walked over to her. She passed by Professor Bunbury, Professor Truebridge's there too, and she greeted them, "Hello Professor Bunbury. Hello Professor Truebridge. This is a lovely party," she motioned around her. She had never been to a garden party before especially not one like this which is covered in pink. "The pink color's just so fresh looking as always," she continued. She didn't notice it but she had been loving the color since last term.

"Hello Victoria," she told her friend. "Nice to see you here."
