Mariel's smile faded somewhat at Liz's words. "Oh, sorry to hear that it wasn't so great, but at least it got better," she said, awkwardly trying to give the older girl a reassuring smile. Turning grim slightly, she replies "It's just that...well...papa ended up marrying Melinda at the end of the summer. But then he side apparated me to Rian's! And I stayed there until last week! So that was fun."
"Wow! That would have been fun. Spending time last year with the Muggle Studies class was fun. San Diego has a lot of things to do!" adding with a thoughtful look on her face. "Where did you go?"
"We have to keep this streak going quidditch that's for sure. The more practice the better." she finishes with a grin.

"See you at Hogwarts?" he asked, surprising himself by hoping his statement was true. He lifted his hand up to his shoulder, his elf owl jumped onto it, and he waved to Liz with his free hand and started off in the direction he'd come from. He stuck his three sugar quills into his pants pocket, then put his free hand over Jasmine so she wouldn't fly off somewhere.
"Any house would be fun, I think, but I like Ravenclaw personally because we help each other out with school work, when needed. We try to excel a lot in studies. But I'm sure that the other houses try as hard as they can too..." she drifts off.
Realizing that Kel's about to leave, she quickly drops the subject "I'll see you at the feast then." she adds with a wave.
Turning back to the line, and Mariel, she decides what to get and heads back out of the food trolley, waving to Mariel.
