Oh no he didn't... Mariel was quickly snapped out of her reverie by the loud hoot of a noisy owl and the sound of a boy ordering sweets. A boy that had not been in front of her. A boy that was cutting past her in line because clearly she had been here first.

With a slight frown, Mariel took a step to the side of the boy and said cooly, "Excuse me, but I believe I was here first." She was trying oh-so-hard not to be rude, but her stomach was empty and hunger always made her crabby. "I need my chocolate frogs, you know," she added with a curt nod. Turning back to the trolley lady, the third year said, "Five chocolate frogs, please, and a pumpkin pastie."

Kel jumped when he heard a voice behind him. Oh Merlin. He looked fleetingly at the trolley lady, then at the girl who'd just told him off. Well, that's what he got for not paying attention to his surroundings.

"So sorry, ma'am." he muttered, stepping back to let the girl forward. He thought about turning around and fleeing, but he really wanted his sugar quills! Ugh. He frowned and looked around, making sure he wasn't stepping in front of anyone else in line - once was enough. "Get your frogs, then." he added in a barely audible voice, before he thought about his words.

Ma'am? Mariel raised an eyebrow at the boy's choice of words, then looked at him appraisingly. He had to be close to her age, certainly she couldn't be a ma'am to him. Of course maybe he just had really good manners, and that would be the second boy she had met today that was not completely rude and dirt-covered. Then again, she didn't know this boy at all and maybe time would tell a different story. At any rate, two polite boys in one day and the term hadn't even started... maybe there was hope for the male population of Hogwarts after all. Yeah, right.

"It's alright," she said, pulling out the correct amount of coins, as he made his apology. It really wasn't that big a deal, now that she had thought about it. She was just really hungry and hadn't had her daily chocolate yet today. Mariel then glanced at the boy as he mumbled something else and she watched him briefly. Oh, blast, she had hurt his feelings.

"No, really, it's okay," she said quickly as she grabbed her sweets from the woman. "I was sort of drifting off in la-la-land and was totally not paying attention. You probably didn't even realize I was in line." Mariel cringed slightly as she looked at the boy's face to see if maybe what she said made him feel any better. "Here, have a frog," she said, quickly thrusting one of her chocolate frogs in his direction. "Chocolate makes everyone feel better."

MmmHmm. Kel thought sarcastically. This time, thankfully, his thoughts didn't become his words. He looked away for a second while he got - when it was his turn, of course - his quills from the trolley lady. He looked up just in time to see her cringe as she looked at him. Hmm, that was pleasant.

"Nah, it was my fau-" his apology was cut off as she threw one of the chocolate frogs she'd just bought at him, and he had to catch it. "Thanks," he said quietly, looking at her curiously. Girls really were weird - this one wasn't the first to get mad at him and then turn right around and be civilized. But...she didn't seem like she was going to take back her offer, so he opened the treat wrapper and bit off the things head before it could jump anywhere.

"I'm Keltan, by the way. Keltan Micheals." Why he was still talking to this girl, he didn't know. But it's not like she had to stay there...she had the choice of walking away, of course. "And you are?" He stuck out a hand for the girl to shake, and his owl hooted again - annoyingly close to his ear.

Turning from Cela, and realizing people had jumped in line ahead of her while she was talking to her. She gets back in line behind a younger boy and girl...Hey ones Mariel! she realizes with a smile.

Lizzie meandered through the corridor to find the item her belly had been searching for. The food trolly. At the front were her fellow third year's, Kel and Mariel.
"Hi." Lizzie said, waving. They both waved back, a slghtly crumbled chocolate frog in Mel's hand. Seeing that they had evidently both finished buying their goods.
"I'll have a..." Lizzie said, searching the trollies contents.
Kel's facial expression wasn't a good one. A frown was spread from ear to ear.
"Oh sorry, where you?" Lizzie said, blushing slightly. The same expression was pasted on Mariel's face, so Lizzie assumed this statement was true.
"Oh sorry." She said, as she let Kel through.

"No problem," Mariel said as the boy accepted her offered frog, and she gave him a little smile. Watching him as he opened the candy, the Ravenclaw girl proceeded to do the same with one of her own frogs - after she stuffed the other three in her pocket. She took a bite of its leg, feeling much less crabby as she reveled in its chocolate yumminess.

"Nice to meet you Keltan," she answered, shaking his outstretched hand and giving him a genuine smile. Yep, he must be super polite as only the most well-mannered seemed to be into shaking hands. "I'm Mariel... Morgan," she added, not one to usually add the last name but did so because he did first. "So, Keltan, are you new to Hogwarts? I don't remember seeing you around the past couple terms..." He didn't look like a little first year, so if he wasn't new then maybe he hid in his dorm a lot and that's why she never saw him.

Taking another bite from her chocolate frog, Mariel caught a bit of movement out of the corner of her eye. Glancing slightly behind her, she noticed one of her fellow Claws behind her in line. "Hey, Liz," she said brightly. "How was your summer?"

"Do you know Keltan?" she asked, gesturing to the boy next to her. Mariel was not always so good at making introductions, but was worried of making someone feel awkward so thought it best to ask.

Mariel turned yet again at the sound of a girl's voice who seemed to be saying 'hi' to her. Noticing the girl wave, Mariel slowly waved back, wondering just how this girl knew her. Or maybe she was just exceptionally friendly. She was about to turn back to Keltan and Liz when the other girl seemed to be worried about cutting in line. Oh, she must have heard me earlier, the Ravenclaw thought. Shrugging, she figured people should err on the side of caution anyway.

"Nope, we're finished ordering," she told the unknown girl. "Go ahead... well, after Liz," she added, gesturing towards the older girl in line. Mariel took a few steps to the side so no one else would think she was still in line.

"Another Liz." She thought. "Cool. Thanks. After Liz then. I'm also a Liz, Lizzie infact." She said, holding out her hand for Mariel to shake.

Kailey wandered up to the food trolley, hoping to get some chocolate frogs and maybe make a friend. She saw some girls and a guy talking. they all seemed to know eachother already though, so she bought her chocolate frogs and stood in the corner

"Excuse me," Lizzie said, looking at a girl who had just bought chocolate frogs. "I was infront-" She noticed she must have sounded very rude. "I mean, you musn't have known." Blushing, Lizzie proceeded to buy Licorice wands and two chocolate frogs.

Satine wondered up to the Food Trolley. She was starving and was really ready to get out of the little compartment at the back of the train and stretch her legs. As she passed a compartment, she glanced at her reflection to make sure her hair was still a deep purple...sometimes it changed colors on her unexpectedly when she was nervous like she was now.

As she approached the trolley, she noticed a girl standing in the corner. Satine smiled and made a bee line for her.

"Howzit! I'm Satine! So what do you suggest I get on the trolley? Any favorites?" She extended her hand to introduce herself to the girl who couldn't be much older than she was.

Kel nodded shortly and took off one of the chocolate frog's leg, smiling slightly when the girl did the same. These things were pretty good...almost as good as sugar quills, which were his favorite treat. He nodded and his smile got a bit bigger when she introduced herself.

And...yeah, people at Hogwarts were really observant - Kel wasn't going to fit in. Mariel wasn't the first to say she'd never seen him before...he was sure that there were tons of people at Hogwarts she'd never seen, but Kel didn't voice his opinion. "I'm new," he said, nodding. "I'm going into my third year, though." He made himself shut up before he started rambling. People didn't need to know the specifics - if they wanted to know, they could ask.

He nodded to another girl that was behind him, whom he had clearly overlooked. Before he could utter an apology, Mariel spoke again. "No, we've never met," he told her, before turning to the girl Mariel was talking about. "I'm Keltan, and to who do I owe this pleasure?"

Kailey shook her hand glad for someone to notice her.

"Well," said Kailey, "I would suggest chocolate frogs...unless you don't enjoy something jumping around in your mouth. then you could get licorious wands."

Satine walked up to the food trolley and after waiting in line ordered six chocolate frogs, 5 cauldron cakes, six licorice wands, four boxes of Fizzing Whisbees, and three boxes of Every Flavor Jelly Beans.

After stuffing all of this into her neon butterfly bag, she turned on the spot flipping her deep purple hair around. As she turned, she noticed a group of students doing introductions. Although a first year, she wasn't afraid of meeting anyone even if they were older.

Satine walked over to the group of students and with a huge smile on her face waiting for a pause in conversation to introduce herself.

"Howzit! I'm Satine!" She said with a smile and a twinkle in her purple eyes. She hoped these were nice students she was being brave and introducing herself to.

She smiled at the new acquaintance. "Thanks! Chocolate Frogs are some of my faves to."

She turned to place her order with the girl's suggestion in mind. After ordering, she flipped around and asked, "So are you a first year?"

Kel suppressed a groan when he heard another female voice. Maybe he had a problem - he'd met only one guy since he'd gone to Diagon Alley. Maybe most guys would be happy about this, but it sort of freaked Kel out. ...But, well, this girl looked young...and she seemed to be another one of those always-happy weirdos.

After giving her a small bow, he straightened up and nodded to her. "Hey, Satine. I'm Keltan...Micheals." he said, once again offering his right hand for a hand shake.

Satine noticed a slight hesitation as the boy turned around to introduce himself. She started questioning her courage when she noticed a forced smile on his face....she hoped it wasn't because of her age. She hated when people judged her because of her age because her parents had raised her to act older than she was.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Keltan...Micheals. I'm a first year" She said as she looked into his green eyes and then she kicked herself for bringing her first year status to his attention. This frustration caused her hair to slowly change from her favorite deep purple to a fiery red. This caught his eye and she could tell he had a rebellious edge to him by the twinkle shining through.

After mentioning her first year status and being embarrassed by her sudden change of hair color, she figured he wouldn't want to talk to her, so she continued, "I was just passing through and thought I'd try to meet some new faces before the train arrived. I really hate to interrupt your conversation, so I guess it was nice to meet you." She really hoped she would be able to talk with the boy more, but he seemed a little irritated to be surrounded by all these girls and to be meeting yet another one. But the rebellion she picked up from him intrigued her.

Kel pushed back a sarcastic expression that was fighting it's way to the surface when Satine hesitated in his name, just like he had. But he didn't make a comment, considering the girl's sudden change in hair color. That was a bit weird...he'd heard of metamorphmagi before, though, so he didn't bring attention to her now-red hair.

"Wait!" he called, then groaned. That sounded pathetic. "You don't have to go, ya know. You weren't really interrupting anything...not really," he glanced at Mariel and the other girl, hoping they didn't mind. He shook himself mentally, then looked back at Satine. "It's my first year, too." he admitted, nodding. "Well, technically, it's my third year. But it's my first year at Hogwarts." He quickly shut himself up again, before he made a complete fool of himself.

Satine felt a little bit better, but still felt like she was intruding on their conversation, but she continued on anyways.

"It's your first year, but your third year? That's a little...awkward. Are you a transfer in or a late magic bloomer?" As she finished she realized that came out wrong and continued, "My cousin didn't get accepted to Hogwarts until his second year because they thought he might be a squib, but he ended up being one of the best wizards I've met."

As she spoke, she hoped things became more comfortable between them or she was headed back her compartment.

Before he could stop it, Kel's eyes widened and he bent over, laughing. A late magic bloomer? Funny! Not the concept itself, but the way Satine had described it - that's what Kel thought was funny. When he'd gotten over the phrasing - with his ears now slightly red from embarrassment - he looked back at Satine.

"I was home schooled, actually," he informed her, his voice strikingly normal, considering his sudden laughing fit. "And for some odd reason, my mother wanted me to start out as a third year, even though I'm turning fourteen in less then a month." as he spoke, he rolled his eyes, showing that he had no clue why his mother was such a weird lady. He shook his head, and - surprisingly - smiled at the girl.

Lyra smiled "nah i don't need anything" she said "i'm not allergic to chocolate, thank Merlin! but a friend of mine is , he has it just as bad as you and he is also addicted to it, it's funny how some things we love are bad for us" Lyra said and shook her head. "yup they are at a pretty bad place haha, most people from other countries think that Ajax and Feyenoord are the best in our country because they are popular, but AZ is the best, they are the champions." she said and then repeated Grace sentence "Galatasaray lost against the worst team?!" and laughed "yea thats pretty bad , but 4th place is still a pretty good place , isn't it.? " she asked. "I like soccer, but i Love Quidditch much more i think its more exciting and also they don't whine when they are hit or fall down"

Feeling a little lost as to why Kelson had laughed at her, Satine felt her eyes change to a reddish color. Man she wished she could get her abilities under control when she became emotional. Focusing back, she slowly changed her eyes back to their blueish-purple color and forced a smile to make the boy think that she understood what he was laughing at.

"I never thought of that as a possibility. Well, I've met lots of muggles that were home-schooled, but I have to admit that you're the first wizard. Well, does that mean you're going to get sorted with us first years when you arrive?" She questioned hoping they might end up in the same house.

"So do you play Quidditch?" She thought she would change the subject. Since he seemed a little irritated by all the girls, she thought sports might be a great subject change.

"Really?" Kel asked, arching his eyebrows. "That's kinda weird. I never thought about it...I assume a lot of wizards were home schooled." he shrugged. That was kind of interesting...hmm. And, the sorting. "Honestly? I don't know. Hmm, that will be sort of embarrassing, won't it?" he wasn't trying to sound rude, but he could see himself now - a tall third year amid a throng of tiny firsties, sitting up on the stool...and it being announced to the whole of Hogwarts that he didn't belong...

Ick. That wasn't good. New thought, new thought...

Aha! Quidditch. "I do, actually. Well, not on a team or anything, of course, but I used to play by myself in my backyard..." ugh. That sounded pathetic. "What about you? You play?" He looked down at his hand, seeing half a frog in it. Chuckling at his forgetfulness, he popped the rest of the treat into his mouth as he waited for an answer.

Ah, so he was new. Mariel smiled to herself, always glad to be right. "Oh you're a third year?" she repeated Keltan's words, somewhat perkily. "Me too," she smiled, glad to have had something in common - for some reason. "I'm in Ravenclaw. Do you know what house you're going to be in yet?" She wasn't completely sure how sorting worked with new students that were not first years. Did they still get treated to the manky, old talking hat?

Glancing over to the exceptionally friendly girl that had waved and now was introducing herself, she said, "Nice to meet you Lizzie, I'm Mariel." She also looked very unfamiliar to the Ravenclaw. Was she knew as well? She, like Keltan, didn't appear to be a firstie. Maybe she was transferring, for certainly Mariel wasn't as unobservant as just not noticing the girl around the castle.

An overly-jubilant girl then startled Mariel enough that she jumped back slightly and bumped into Keltan. "Oh, sorry," she apologized to the boy, and then turned back, wide-eyed, to assess this younger girl who had also introduced herself. "Hello, Satine," she answered slowly, still keeping an eye on the girl. "I'm Mariel," she replied, starting to get tired of her own name having said it so many times in the course of one day. Watching her closely, the third year was fairly certain that this newer girl was a first year. A thought soon confirmed by the girl herself. A girl who also appeared to be a metamorphmagus, Mariel noticed with tilted head as the girl's hair changed color. She knew several of those.

Now feeling somewhat out of place as Satine and Keltan took over the conversation, Mariel watched the two converse as she waited for a break in their talk before contributing. That was until Keltan started laughing. She wasn't sure exactly what he found so funny about what Satine had said, but laughter was always contagious to the young girl and couldn't help but stifle a few giggles herself. She was glad when he stopped, making it easy for her to do so as well.

Oh, right, homeschooled. Mariel was wondering if he was transferring from another school and was about to ask but Keltan gave her the answer before she could. Nodding her understanding, she smiled when he mentioned his birthday. "My birthday's this month too. I'm also going to be fourteen..." she added. "Of course if I had been born a week earlier, I'd be a fourth year," she said with a slight frown. So unfair.

Kel shrugged again, nodding his acknowlegdement to the fact that they were in the same year. That was kind of cool - he had met others that were older than him, for the most part. It was nice to know people who were the same age - or younger - than he was. It made him feeling not-as-new.

"Nope, I don't know what house I'm in." he told her as the thought ANOTHER Ravenclaw!! flitted through his head. "I'm not exactly sure how they'll sort me...but I assume it'll be before the feast." If it wasn't, how else would he know what table to eat at?

When Mariel jumped back, so did Kel, so as to not get his foot stepped. But she still knocked into him, and he reached his arms out to catch her before she fell. When he realized what he'd just done, he gently pushed his arms forward and backed away, horrified. At least it didn't show.

He couldn't help the smile that came to his face when he heard Mariel laugh, too. He didn't have a clue as to why that would make him smile, so he made up the excuse that if he wasn't the only one laughing, he didn't look like an idiot. "Yours is this month too?" he asked suddenly. "Really? What day?" he took a step forward in spite of himself, curious to what her answer was.

"I'm sure the headmaster will have an easier solution for you than being sorted with us." She said reassuringly as she saw his frustration at that subject.

As she watched him gobble down the other half of a frog, she answered, "Well, I try to play, but I'm not very good. I'm excellent at flying, or so my mom says, but she's probably biased," she said with a smile. "I'm more of the stand on the sidelines and create fireworks that spell out your name for support, but you never know. My mom played for Ravenclaw when she went to Hogwarts and says she started out just like me. Are you going to try out for one of the teams?"

Feeling a little intimidated by the older student and realizing the irritation in her voice, "Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm really sorry if I interrupted your conversation. I was just fixing to head back to one of the compartments?" she said more as a question than an actual statement.
