The water was still rising eek! And the Midgety badger was pretty sure that if she stopped stiil, she wouldn't be able to touch the floor. Better not stop then.
But at least she had gotten out the great hall, not without noticing someone who seemed to not be able to get out. She really hoped that the girl was going to get out, but hopefully she'd find someone who could go and get the girl.
Oh, there was hope, for as she came swimming out of the great hall, she spotted a few teachers... "Professor Lupa!" She called out, as she swam towards them, feeling rather tired. "Theres still a gryffindor in there...I dont think they can swim!"

Dani clung tighter to Mr. Masterson as the water rose. "Im scared!!" She was shivering from both fear and because she was cold. Not knowing how to swim in a flooding castle was not good. "Don't let me fall. I c-can't swim." She repeated herself. Everyone was freaking out and it wasn't helping her stay calm at all. "Ahhh!" She yelled. The water was going even higher.

Bugger. Bugger, bugger, bugger. Rachel inched upwards towards the first floor as the water quickly rose towards her feet, feeling the slight panic begin to climb up her spine. STUPID WATER! It was almost a mantra now in her head and it made her feel better so while she waited anxiously to see if the Professors needed any help, she repeated it over and over, glaring at the water.

Rachel turned as Professor Lupa issued the order for all the students to leave. Sighing, she looked as people began obeying orders and running up the stairs, wishing she cold join them. BUT, she wouldn't let herself leave until she knew that everyone else was safe. And that included the Professors since she was a Prefect, and all.

"Madame Kohan! MADAME KOHAN!" the fifth year yelled, hoping that the Librarian would be able to hear her. "Would you like some help with retrieving the students?" she asked, took a deep breath and began lowering herself one foot after the other into the COOOOOOLD water, realising too late that she could have cast a charm that would have maintained her dryness.

Shivering slightly as she felt the water slowly rising to her waist with each step she took, Rachel kicked off from the stairs and began swimming, attempting to avoid getting her face wet on top of everything else. "Vanessa - you say that there's only one student there?" she asked, over hearing the Hufflepuff Prefect's words to Professor Lupa.

William had barely made it out of the Great Hall before the water began to rise again. Thinking he was in the clear he stopped, only to find himself in another pickle so to speak. the entrance hall was flooded as well. "Great, just GREAT" he exclaimed loudly, accidentally swallowing a bit of the water. coughing he groaned and spit it out again floating on his stomach. Where were those stairs again? If he could get to the stairs he'd be find, he'd crawl up them if he had too. His strength was already starting to fail and everyone looked too busy to think of helping him. "Can ... can I ... get ... some ... help please?" He asked, his voice weak as he kept wading in the water. he couldn't swim anymore, his wrist was killing him, his knees were sore and he swore that grindylow had scratched his ankle before breaking its grip.

The water -- rising -- yes. Fyo calmed down almost as suddenly as he had begun to - well, not calm down, what else - nodding at Varius's words. "Yeah, we have to get out of he -" And then Varius was pulling him. Trying to breathe normally, Fyo let him.

A voice made Fyo turn back around. "Go on," he told Varius, as he caught sight of the struggling William, a boy he had often seen in class. "I'll join you in a moment." Hopefully.

"I'm coming," he called out to William, swimming towards the rather worried-looking second year as fast as he could, as Varius disappeared from sight. Once he had reached William, he grabbed the guy's arm. "Hold on to me - we're going to get out of here," he said, tones firm.

Flobberdung! The Great Hall! "Alright Prefects, Help the students to higher ground, then help us in the Great Hall. "Come on, ladies!" She said to Iliana and Angela.

Huddled around the kids on the steps, Iliana heard Less' voice. "Okay kids, go up to your Common Rooms as fast as you can. I can't stay with you. There are others that need help," She pushed Jake gently up the stairs and gave them all a reassuring smile. "GO!" She urged, trying to keep calm. Then she trudged down the stairs and back into the freezing water to follow Less.

Turning, though apparently not quickly enough as one of the prefects had already entered the water again, apparently intent on helping the other students, Angela quickly spoke up. "Yes, help the students get to higher ground; the ones in here Rachel, and then come to the Great Hall if you're able to do so safely." She stressed the word safely, worried that a sense of duty would overpower common sense and lead to more harm than good.

With one last glance, she moved as quickly as she could to the Great Hall, which was not quick at all considering how difficult it was to move through the cold water. One misstep and one would easily be dragged down. "A-at least one student is..in there." Merlin, it was freezing!

"I think so." Vanessa spoke, as she swam towards the direction of which Rachel was swimming from. She really hoped that there was only one, for she hadn't seen anymore. "I didn't see anymore....but then the water was really high...there could have been more students on the other side of the hall. I'm not sure." Vannie cringed as she spoke, hoping that they'd all be okay.

Vanessa listened to Professor Lupa, and nodded, if it was possible to nod and swim at the same time. Help the students here then go help the Professors. She hoped that they'd be okay and that most of the students were already out of the great hall.
She watched as another student swam to a boy who looked like he was having some trouble. Swimming again, a little faster than she had before, she approached the pair. "Come on guys...only a little bit further now." She offered a smile at them, before motioning towards the stairs.

He sighed rather stupidly as Fyo came swimming towards him. "Thank you!!" he exclaimed as he practically clung to his arm moving onto his back. "I...need the nurse." he moaned as pain shot up his wrist. Swimming with badly, possibly fractured wrist = not good. "There's still a few people in there, Anna the Head Girl got attacked by a Grindylow after I did, but I think Cope got her." I think he thought to himself as he clung.

Oh, good! Fyo had made it...and little William, too. So had, thankfully, lots of others. Where were Cope and Cy, though? Anna turned around in a few quick quick circles, seeing if she could catch any sight of the two. Hopefully the fact that they weren't anywhere to be seen meant that they'd already made it out the Entrance Hall and up to their shared Common Room. Vannie was up ahead, though, and so were Professor Morgan, Professor Lupa, and Madam Kohan. Maybe among the four of them, they'd seen Cope and Cy and helped them out. Just to be sure, though, Anna turned around one more time and got a good look (or as good of a look as she could) into the Great Hall. No luck in getting any good views, though.

"Fyo! William!" she called out, swimming up behind the two and urging them forward. She glanced at William, a concerned look on her face, when he said he needed a nurse. "William, we'll get you out of here and to the Hospital Wing in no time. Just hang on, 'kay?" Anna swam forward, urging Fyo and William along, until she reached a point where she could swim out the Entrance Hall. If she could just make it to that point, she could hopefully pull Fyo and William out, as well. She struggled against the water, pushing forward until finally, she made it out the Entrance Hall. She stretched her arm towards Fyo and William, ready to pull the two boys to safety.

Copernicus made it into the Entrance Hall and to the stairs before depositing Cy. Another pair of shoes ruined, he mused as he collapsed into a soggy mess on the stairs. He was so exhausted, and he was sick and tired of all this infernal WATER. Someone better do something about it soon or he was transferring to a desert.

"Alright. We're... we're safe. You're uninjured?"

After making sure that she few remaining students onto higher ground, Vanessa began making her own way to that higher ground, she would be glad when she could just stand up and not be in any water. She sighed in relief as she felt solid ground beneath her feet, but when she heard splashing she turned around, to see Anna, and a few others. So there had been more people in the great hall, but Anna seemed to have it under control. Vanessa stood waiting on the stairs, for them to make it out of the water, so she could see if they were okay. Hopefully by the time they got there she'd have got her breath back. It was hard work getting here!
It was only then that she noticed that Cy, one of the badgers was with them. "Cyrus." She spoke quietly, as he, and Copernicus made it to the stairs. "Are you two okay?" She asked, slightly worried as the ravenclaw had colapsed onto the floor. He looked just as she felt.

Having nothing but food on his mind, Cordova shuffled from the staircases and turned the corner quickly finding the exact opposite of what he wanted. Instead of buttered potatoes, marinated turkey, and a massive goblet of pumpkin juice, he found himself standing amongst a number of his peers drenched, exhausted, and some possibly injured. "A Grindylow in the castle," he over heard William's short explanation of what just occurred. "What in MER-LINS beard," he muttered now running to aid William and another boy who was dragged by another older girl. "I should REAAALLLYY try to remember these peoples name," he thought to himself as he ran past a Hufflepuff girl and knelt down on the stairs, giving a hand to those who were too tired to help themselves. "Has any Professors or Nurse been called yet?'

He glanced over his shoulder at the other students who were recovering from the incident. He he periodically glanced back at the water making sure nothing was going to come after him.

"You'll be alright," Fyo said encouragingly. He had been scared a moment ago, but now William's fright was calming him down. He needed to be brave, at the moment. Not for himself, but for someone else.

"I'll take you to the hospital wing," he told William gently, still firmly holding the second year. He was pushing against the currents now, swimming as if for his life. Which, in a way, he was. "Anna will be alright," he said soothingly, knowing that she and Copernicus were both pretty good at handling things. "And Professor Morgan's gone into the great hall." In case anyone's not alright.

They finally reached relative safety, and Fyo took a deep breath of relief. His arm felt sore, but he didn't want to let William go. What if something happened? What if the water came here?

Peeking out through a cracked eyelid he made a noise like a scared cat and clung tighter to him as they seemed to be making progress. He was freezing, his body almost numb from being in for so long.

Suddenly he felt himself being lifted, yet it was different from the water current. Thinking it'd be safe to open his eyes he stared at Anna as she helped them climb up to a safer level. Blinking up at her with fear in his eyes he said "Thanks Anna!" in a somewhat cheerful voice, trying to get himself back to normal but failing miserably. Nodding back to Fyo he said "Thanks, I don't think I'd be able to make it on my own."

Shivering now he looked up the stairs and gulped. Why were there so many he thought idly.

Cordova stood quickly from his kneeling position and carefully walked backwards away from the water and up the staircase to an assured safe landing. Apparently his help was not needed and food was clearly not of the schools priority at the moment. "Well," he mumbled placing one hand on his hip while the other scratched his head. He was extremely baffled by the consistent flooding that was slowly overtaking the entire castle. It started with the dungeons and now found it's way into the Great and Entrance Hall. Besides sharing a common room and a new appointed potions classroom, Cordova wondered what else was going to be the new shared thing of the castle. One house dining table? He smirked to himself and leaned against the side railing at the top of the staircase. Examining the entire space, everything looked rather wet and busted up. Hoping that everyone was going to be fine, he stayed put over seeing the scene and if needed would jump in in a jiffy to lend an extra hand.

Sadie half climbed, half flopped onto the stairs in the entrance hall. Her arms were sore from swimming out of the Great Hall. Her whole body was sopping wet and she felt miserable. She just wanted to get away from this water and get dry.

"They'll be fine...Lupa and Morgan and Kohan have it all under control," Jack assured Reese. The professors, who undoubtably knew charms that could help them breathe underwater and get the students out safely, would be fine, and would get all the children to the stairs, he was sure of it. HE on the other hand did NOT know such charms, and he didn't know how to swim either, so the only thing he could do was RUN.

His arm still locked with Reese's, he staggered up the rest of the stairs as the water rose higher and higher...this was definitely the closest that he had come to drowning so far. Oh yes! Definitely the closest call. Without a single glance back at the rising water, he finished climbing the stairs with Reese and ran back to their common room.

Nodding as Professor Lupa told the prefects to help the other students, Rachel began to swim towards one of the walls, planning to use it as a better lookout point since being in the middle of this gigantic swimming pool with horrible, cold, murky water was not giving her any information to anyone's whereabouts.

GRYNDILOWS?! Excuse me?!

Rachel liked instructions. They made her feel tidy and in control since instructions meant that everything was planned. Yet, in this situation, the whole bloody water thing was NOT planned - or at least not planned with any good intentions - and so the fifth year took little comfort in Madame Kohan's words. Nevertheless, she nodded briefly with a firm look.

Finally reaching the wall, she grabbed hold of a suit of armour's head and used it as leverage to push herself up so that she could see the extent of the damage. Safely... That's what the librarian had said yet NOTHING could be considered safe in this mess - especially not when there were apparently water demons swimming around and grabbing people. Ugh... She had to close her eyes and force the image out of her brain before she was able to concentrate again.

"Right yeah, that makes sense... Thanks," Rachel replied to the Hufflepuff prefect and watched her help some young students swim towards the dry safety on the stairs. Refusing to let herself look at the escape route, she once again hauled herself up and spotted two Ravenclaws, one older making her way towards the stairs and the other watching everyone like it was some sort of muggle movie or something.

Shaking her head at the watching boy, the girl took a deep breath before plunging back into the dark water, forcibly not thinking about things that might be lurking under her. She made her way towards the steps since the two Ravenclaws were there and the rest of the young students were all being taken care of by either Anna or Vanessa.

Kicking her legs one final time, she almost sighed in relief as she felt the smooth surface of the wet stairs beneath her outreached fingers. Pulling herself into a sitting position, Rachel shivered slightly for a few moments as she rested, her hair plastered onto her face and her clothes so heavy they made her back ache. "Hey there," she called out to the guy, biting back a slightly rude comment that she wanted to shout out instead as she lifted herself and stood a few steps below him.

"While we appreciate the help - all students must make their way back to the common rooms as soon as they've left the water. You don't look even remotely wet, and since we have everything covered here, would you please head towards the common room?" she said, feeling her fatigue and therefore irritation colour her tone and winced slightly. Her remark, which had come out rather badly, had probably just made her one of those horrible prefects who thought that they were above everyone.

Yet frankly, as of right now she didn't particularly care. If he left, that would be one student less in this mess and that was all she cared about. At least for now.

Right. Next.

Carefully watching her feet, she walked across the stairs towards the place where an older girl was sitting on the steps, dripping from head to toe and probably freezing too. Sighing, Rachel took out her wand and summoned her one and only cloak from the common room, catching it with a relatively dry hand before it could touch the water.

"Here," she said and handed out the warm, thick cloak to the girl while at the same time casting Impervius quietly under her breath at the girls shoes. While Rachel was sure that her actions wouldn't help her much, she sort of knew from experience that dry feet always made people feel better.

"After you feel that you can muster enough energy, go up to the common room. There's no reason to stay here and I think you need a nice long bath after this," the fifth year said kindly to the older girl, trying to keep her tone light and comforting in contrast with the girl's miserable expression. Well, he couldn't really blame her - Rachel wasn't exactly chipper herself.

The water rose high now pushing all humans, from the great hall and the entrance hall, up the staircase as the ground level filled to the ceiling, where it again, stopped its ascent.

He boldly entered into the school knowing that his leader was close by. Upon crossing through the entrance hall doorway he spoke, in a voice so loud it could be heard throughout the entire school -



The language was Mermish.

As Arethusa said, the water was drained out, the injuries healed, and everything was restored to normal.

By the side of the stairs, a Slytherin boy some might know as Theo was lying on the floor apparently asleep.

Plymouth escorted... sort of... Daphne inside the castle. "Your duck,"Plymouth remembered. He vaguely remembered her having one. Plymouth preferred ducks to scorpions and hissing cockroaches, no doubt, but it was still a BIRD and.. shudder.

"It poops under your bed? Heh... I bet you just LOVE that. You're so cleany." And then Plymouth laughed at her.
