The Dueling Arena is a large, open spaced room with numerous raised platforms for you to practice your wand work and hone your dueling skills. Challenge a friend or practice on your own with the number of dummies placed in the room. Please read the rules below, understand them and abide by them.

RULES

1. Under no circumstances are Unforgiveable Curses to be used or any spell that will cause permanent damage to an opponent (eg. Sectumsempra, Fiendfyre etc).

2. Please do not RP intent for your opponent, an example of this is shown below;

Plymouth pointed his wand at Copernicus and shouted the incantation, "Stupefy." There was a flash of light and it hit Copernicus in the chest and he fell to the floor unconscious. (Please refrain from doing this, otherwise I will be forced to delete your post).

A better option is shown below;

Plymouth pointed his wand at Copernicus and shouted the incantation, "Stupefy." There was a flash of light, heading in Copernicus' direction. (This gives Copernicus an opportunity to either block the spell or move out of the way or if he is so inclined to let his brother stun him, then he could take the fall

).

3. If you intend to show a little creativity and make up your own spells, which I don't mind so long as you leave an ooc comment at the end of your post describing what the spell is and what it does. (Please keep it as real as possible thank you).

4. Please show respect to the other dueler's in the arena.

5. And most of all have fun! Creativity is always appreciated.

Professor Lawson will be popping into the arena, quite often to see how his students are fairing and will be quite happy to offer any assistance.

ooc: One small favor I ask. Please try and keep it as canon as possible. I don't expect any first year to pull off amazing dueling skills.

She grinned innocently and made up her mind to tell Garret that she was now buddybuddy with the Headgirl AND the Headboy. This of course provided far more cover for the antics of the pirates.

"I don't really have any Ravenclaw friends.. most of them are crazy.." Of course he had Willow Kovac in mind. And that Melly kid too. She was INSANE. "You're pretty swell though." Anyone who gave him chocolate was AWESOME in his books. NOM!

Clifford hadn't got ANY of that. Equi-whaaa? Hmmm. Maybe she was insane too. Ah well. He could handle insane people as long as they shared chocolate with him. JUST.

Oooh. Choco-beard! Niiice. Now all he needed was a nice moustache to match it. This manly man was still struggling to grow his own facial hair.. chocolate was a good alternative. Teehee.

"Want to go get more?" There were a couple chocolate frogs still bouncing around by the door, they could grab them on the way out.

Celandine threw herself off the platform and went left, doing a little series of steps to dodge an invisible opponent and maybe confuse the chocolate frogs a bit and...

possibly just for the fun of it.

She scooped up one of the frogs and tucked it close to her with a gleeful expression.

Aaaaand they were off. Clifford leapt from the platform right after Cela, eyes fixed on his goal. That chocolate frog. It had his name written all over it. NOMNOM.

He wanted to throw in one of those cool secret agent forward roll thingymabobs, but he felt a little bruised after that duel. AND his stomach was pretty full. He didn't fancy puking everywhere. ICK.

"MWAHAHAHAA!"

And you know, with the chocolate warpaint and the feather headbands, they looked pretty darned cool too.

She adjusted her bag on her hip and opened the door, the sugar starting to do its thing. It had been a LONG time since she'd had ANY sugar, and now she was having LOTS.

How fun for Clifford.

"We have to be sneaky, nobody can seeeeee my stashes! I still have THREE more years of candy-stashing, you won't ruin it for me will you, Cliffie?" Cela batted her eyelashes hopefully. He knew about how important a sugar supply was, surely Mr. Headboy Quidditch God was on the level? Oh yeah! Chocolate frog in her hands!

The power of the water becomes evident as the sound of it starts to get louder and it begins to churn upward, but oddly, it stops at the castle windows, even open ones, and does not spill a drop outside of the castle.

The water fiercely rose to shoulder level and the sound of the rush was deafening. In the water potion vials and corks were floating in it. A GO SNAKES banner floated by, followed by a fancy green compact with the initials P.G. on it, and a Yellow notebook with a badger on the front.

The water was rushing harder and more things were showing up in the water. A piece of parchment was floating in the water... It said:
