"Yup, I think I'm pretty much done, as well," Anna remarked. She stood and put her copies, all thirty of them, into her bookbag. "The assignment is due soon, so I'm going to get started on writing about it, but then we should definitely go talk to Professor Lupa about extending it. Owl me when you're done, and if it's not too late, we can go to her office later on this evening. See ya, and thanks for a cool assignment." With a smile, Anna turned and headed out the arena.

Gasping when she felt that the spell was away, she fell towards the ground, head first... "oh shiz" Lyra said and tried to block her fall, but how? she didn't have her wand, nor did she know how to block a fall if she did have it. Block it Muggle style? Lyra held her hands out to catch her fall, she fell on the floor and there was a sickening 'Crack'.
Tears started to sting in Lyra's eyes and she screamed out loud.
"My wrist! oww oww oww my wrist , it hurts!" she cried, tears streaming over her face. She didn't even hear Grace mentioned the countercurse but looked at her wrist which was started to get swollen.

Grace was already going to a corner where they can discuss the spell when she heard a scream. She turned back to see who had screamed. U-uh. Lyra just had, with tears in her eyes! No, no, this couldn't be true. Did she hurt her friend? But she had no idea that the fall would be that hard! It was two meters high from ankle to the ground...

She immediately ran to Lyra, her eyes were full with tears too. "Wh-why is your wirst swollen?" she asked, hardly saying the words out loud. Realising she should actually take an action rather than just standing there, she held out her arm. "Come..." she managed to say. "Lean on my arm with your uninjured hand... We're going to the healer." She whispered her last sentence. She was already thinking how to explain the broken wrist... Of course they could tell the truth partly but the healer wouldn't let it go. Oh God. Detention!

Lyra was thankful that Grace ran towards her, she looked at her wrist again, it was a bit bruised but it wasn't that painful anymore, maybe it was just the shock from the fall. Lyra stopped crying and leaned on Grace's shoulder "thanks" she muttered but she frowned a bit when she heared "healer" she looked up at Grace and shook her head "no , i , i don't want a healer, i'm fine, honest its just a bruise, seriously i'm fine" she almost pleaded. Lyra had never told Grace that she was afraid of any kind of hospitals. Plus what if the healer asked how it happend? she didn't want Grace to get in to detention for using that spell. "No i am fine, really" she said again and give a small smile. "what was the countercurse again? i didn't catch it back there"

Grace looked at Lyra's wrist again. "It looks like it's more than a simple bruise." she said with a weak voice and closed her eyes. "I think we should go." She opened them when she heard Lyra saying "I'm fine." again. She eyed her wrist. She didn't want to go either, but it was totally her fault. "Forget the curse Lyra. I shouldn't have mentioned this spell to anyone. See how it ended. We're going to the healer." Her voice got again weaker at the 'healer' part. That woman scared the hell out of Grace. And no need to mention that some students didn't like her either. But it was her fault and Lyra needed help.

Lyra shook her head again. "no, i am fine!" she said with a little more force in her voice. "besides, that spell is totally awesome, it just worked the wrong way, and i wanted to know it so it is not your fault! its my own fault" She said patiently she didn't want to tell Grace she was afraid of hospitals maybe she would laughed at her? Lyra took her hand off of her shoulder and sat stubbornly on the ground, her arms crossed over. "i am not going , you have to force me then! and that would not be a good thing cause i know a few spells and.....uh wait can i have my wand?" she said slowly raising a eyebrow. She had forgotten that Grace still had her wand.

Grace eyed Lyra's wrist again. Yeah... it didn't look that bad, did it? Besides, Lyra was indeed wise enough to decide if her wrist needed some treatment or not. Grace didn't like insistant people, nor did she like the scenes of 'No it's my fault!' So she just dropped it and said "If you're 100% sure that it isn't important, OK... Your wrist."

Grace raised an eyebrow too. Lyra wanted her wand, naturally. But what if she planned something evil for the revenge of her wrist? Grace slowly gave it back and retreated to sit in front of Lyra while readying her wand under her cloak in case of such a thing.

"yes i am 100% sure i am fine" Lyra said with a smile and took her wand from Grace. Lyra smirked a bit, should she use a spell? they were still in the dueling arena. Looking how grace sat on the floor again she eyed her closely. No doubt she is holding her wand ready right at this moment but it would look foolish to use a spell at this moment right? now that Grace is alert. "you uh, wanna go somewhere else or wanna practise some more?" she asked.

'Thank God Lyra isn't from those watery-eyey-in-every-single-thing.' Grace thought gratefully and smiled back at her. "Hmm... I prefer going somewhere... We had enough drama here." she said with a sarcastic tone. "But uh, not to that crowded common room! I still haven't walked around on every floor. Shall we?"

DuckyLinJi 06-27-2009 08:34 PM

Lyra nodded and got up on her feet. "ok lets go then" she said and walked to the door laughing "i havent seen every floor either!" she said over her shoulder looking if Grace was following her.

Sorry for late reply, next post on the first floor corridor?

"And I thought you had..." Grace said, laughing too and followed her friend to outside.

Celandine headed to the dueling arena, her bag bumping on her hip. She had a stash of chocolate frogs in there and the smell of them had wafted behind her aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way from the seventh floor. She intended to practice a bit, maybe work out some frustrations and then afterwards? Eat chocolate.

She was pretty sure it would make her feel better.

Maybe she'd practice that gouging spell again. Put a few holes in a dummy.

Waterloo 07-12-2009 04:00 PM

Sniff. Sniff, sniff, sniff.

He smelled chocolate. Yummy, yummy chocolate. Clifford had followed the sweet, sweet scent of scrumminess all the way from the seventh floor.. and now he'd found himself in the dueling arena.

Hmmm. Now where - ? Celandine. It was that smart Ravenclaw. The seventh year had heard that she had a thing for sweeeties.. she had that chocolate. He wanted it.

Celandine turned her head and stared at Clifford with interest, much like she had when she'd been a little firstie and they'd been involved in that whole order of the seal business.

Perhaps that was where her fascination with Slytherins came from?

And now he was headboy!

After a few moments of intense, speculative staring, Celandine beamed.

"Hi Cliffie! I can call you Cliffie right?"

Why was she looking at him like that? Maybe because she was freaked out? He had literally followed her down six floors after all.. she didn't LOOK freaked out though.

"Uhm.. hi?" Head tilting to one side, Clifford eyed Celandine, nostrils still aquiver. She had chocolate in that bag of hers.. drool. "You can call me Cliffie if you share your chocolate." Mwahaha.

Teehee.

Sneaky Slythie, trying to outsmart a 'claw.

Nuh Uh!

"You can have some chocolate if you help me practice." Celandine countered, using her sweetest tone and slowwwly pulling a chocolate frog out of her bag and opening the box just enough to send a strong waft of chocolaty goodness bursting towards Clifford.

Cue innocent grin.

Her own nostrils flared at the nommy scent and she slowwwwwwly put the chocolate back in her bag.

Hum de dum.

Now that wasn't nice, was it? Ravenclaws were too smart, it just wasn't fair. Clifford's mouth literally watered when he saw that chocolate. His tastebuds were TINGLING with anticipation. But then it was gone.

... and there he was thinking Celandine was nice.

HMPF.

"What is it you need practicing with?" He was willing to do it.. for the chocolate of course. "Dueling?" She'd led him to the dueling arena after all.

"Yeah, dueling!" Celandine agreed, clapping her hands gleefully. "Then after? We can have a CHOCOLATE PICNIC!" She beamed at the idea and had a little daydream about spreading chocolate on chocolate and making a chocolate sandwich with different kinds of chocolate and washing down with chocolate milk and having chocolate for afters.

Sigh.

"Deal?" Cela stuck out her hand to shake on it.

"DEAL!"

Oh gawd. A chocolate picnic. That sounded like ... HEAVEN! SO heavenly Clifford thrust his hand out without a seconds thought. After giving Cela's hand a VERY eager shake, the Head Boy bounced in excitement and drew his wand.

"So what do you need practice with?" Hopefully something nice.. like cheering charms or something. Hehe.

"Oh proper dueling. You know. To the pain." Celandine answered nonchalantly and charmed her bag shut, shrunk it and pocketed it. Nooo way she was leaving that chocolate stash unattended.

She stood up and did a few little stretches, took a deeeeeeeeep breath and skipped over to the dueling platform.

"I just want to practice all the things Professor Kazimeriz taught us last year and the things that I've learned from Professor Lawson and maybe some things I read about too."

Experimental dueling was awesome stress relief.

Okaaaaay.

Maaaybe this wasn't such a good idea. Brown eyes widened in surprise when Cela started stretching. Yes, she actually started stretching. If that wasn't a sign that she meant business then what was? Uh oh.

He couldn't even steal the chocolate and run.. she'd taken care of that too.

"To - To the pain?" Clifford gulped nervously as he too hopped onto the platform. "You don't mean ... pain pain, right?" She was a girl.. she must've meant girly pain, he could handle that. Sure. Right.

"Mini-pain." Celandine clarified, "Not like... Nico pain." Nooo she was the nice Toussaint. She beamed again as Cliffie joined her on the platform.

ZOMG.

"ZOMG! This is going to be fun! I'm so sure you will teach me sooo much!"

Cela flicked her wand out of her pink wrist holster and bowed all formally.

She had to add a cheeky little curtsey on the end though.

Teach her so much? ... TEACH HER SO MUCH? Chyeah, right. If she truly thought that.. well, then she wasn't as smart as he had her down to be. Nuh uh.

The chances of her learning ANYTHING from him were a big fat zero. Yup, that's right.. ZILCH! He wasn't about to tell her that though. Nope, he wanted that chocolate and he was willing to go through mini girly pain to get it. Oh yes.

Clifford gave a scruffy half-bow before straightening quickly.

"Confundo!"

Maybe the element of surprise would help? ... he doubted it.

Ohhh he was so nice saying the spell out loud for her! What a nice fair seventh year, not using non-verbals to catch her off guard!

"Protego!" Celandine concentrated and cast a focused shield, catching the confundo and feeling the strength of it rock her on her heels slightly.

"Stupefy! Reducto!" Cela countered a quick one-two, the first at chest level, the second down low, mid-thigh on Cliffie. She was super fast, but her casting still wasn't particularly strong.

Waterloo 07-12-2009 05:20 PM

Fourth years weren't meant to be so smart, were they? When he was a fourth year he still had trouble casting basic levitation spells. Heck, he still DID!

Celandine though.. boy, was he in big, BIG trouble.

Why was he doing this again? Oh yeah, the chocolate. He could do this. He WOULD do this, for the chocolate. Precious chocolate. Okies.

"Protego!"

He hadn't got his shield charm up quite as soon as he should've - Celandine was FAST - and stumbled slightly back at the impact. He was SO dead.

"Impedimenta! Expelliarmus!" Wand arm steady, Clifford sent both spells in the Ravenclaw's direction. HELP?

"Protego!" Cela got her shield up for the Impediment jinx, but the surprising strength of it knocked her shield down again and she was hit by the Expelliarmus charm.

Eeeep!

"Accio wand!" Cela put SO MUCH intent into that spell and her wand flew in an arc back into her hand, the impact making a smacking sound against her palm and making it sting a bit. Cel used the momentum the wand had gained to bring her arm around in a circle and cast again.

"Tarantallegra!"

She was having fun already!

GRIN.
