Satine hurried down to the camp site with her purple sleeping bag and her pet chinchilla, Gemma, in her bag. She was really excited about the event and really hoped they'd muggle style it and have roasted marshmellows around a campfire...Yummy...her fave....

She ran down and looked around trying to find a familiar face....

Winnie blinked politely, frowning. "But...Moxy's only got 4 letters in it...it just means...brave? But not quite."

Pretending that he hadn't just been physically assaulted by the annoying little Gryffindor, Garret simply drew his blanket tighter around himself and scowled at the bonfire Neo had just conjured up, "I hope you don't plan on talking the whole night, cos some of us would like to get some sleep." He sniffed as he picked out a dark green bean from his assortment of sweets, "The grown ups have things to do in the morning, ya know wot I mean?"

He popped the bean in his mouth and made a face. BLEGH, oregano.
"Anyone could die, Winnie," interjected Daphne with a small shake of her head. Ridiculous, glossy hair--all over her eyes. She blinked before reaching out with a hand and tucking the rebel strand behind her ear. "It's dirt." That settled things.

Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she spotted a firefly. EEEK! She zapped it dead.

Laughing sardonically at Garret, Daphne tugged on a small curl at the nape of her neck. "Like what?" she inquired with a breezy laugh. "Sleep some more? Roll around mud? Chase after girls?"

Pfft. Honestly. "Don't try to act all grown up, Garret. It doesn't suit you."

Within minutes, there was a roaring fire in front of her while the sun, an even more gigantic fire a mere 150 million kilometres away, was disappearing behind the horizon. Overhead, the sky became steadily darker. Kiri listened silently as Mr Masterson gave his little speech. It only lasted a minute or two, luckily. When he was done, the conversations all around Kiri that had been on hold while the Groundskeeper had been speaking started up again. A few people got up to inspect the baskets.

There was one a few metres away from Kiri. She was kind of hungry, and this was also the perfect atmosphere for some food!
The heat of the fire was noticeable now, warming her face. She turned to Vanessa. "Hey, do you want something to eat? I don't even know what kind of food there is..."

"Tehhe....I'll get her to come over here if she comes." Vanessa nodded with a smile. She was sure Lyra would like to make new friends, and Vannie'd be staying with Kiri non the less.
Ooh. Mr Masterson was talking now. Vannie looked up from her spot on the floor and listened to him, feeling the nice heat coming from that fire now. She certainly hoped that nobod was going to get burnt. That would be horrible.

"Ooh. Food would be good." Vanessa nodded, hoping that there'd be marshmellows, or chocolate. "I think there might be marshmellows." Vannie nodded with a smile. Marshmellows were yummy. "Wanna go look in that basket." She pointed to the one that was the closest to them.

But there was no way she wanted to miss it, and hopefully either her friends would show up, or she find other people to talk to once she was there.

Although, like when she had talked to Torin that last time before the Huffies had gotten their common room back, she kind of felt bad making friends at the end of term when she was leaving. No reason to isolate myself, she thought, plopping her sleeping bag down into a random free spot on the ground then sitting on it. Then, leaning back on her hands, she looked around, smiling at all the people there, as well as Mr. Masterson's dog running around. Hmm, guess it's a good thing Bella didn't manage to sneak out of the common room behind me, she thought.

Robert walked out onto the grounds in need of some fresh air and a long walk when he saw what looked to him like a fire and thought he heard people speaking. His curiosity peaked, he headed in the direction of the bright light looking around with interest. What's going on here? He didn't know they were allowed to build a fire.... As he neared he saw Masterson there and realized at least why there was a fire if not why everyone was here.

Looking around he spotted Liz sitting on a sleeping bag. Walking over he sat down on her sleeping bag, not having one himself and put his arm around her. "Umm...might i ask what's going on?" he whispered quietly as he watched the people around him. Well this was a nice change of pace for sure.

“Ummm, marshmallows, one of my personal favorites,” Antonio said honestly. “Those are so much fun to roast over the campfire, and maybe we can even make a muggle treat called smores. That might be fun! I think I’ve got some graham crackers and some chocolate here with me.” Smores were one of Antonio’s favorite muggle treats. “Hey Constantine, you didn’t happen to bring any of those acorn recipes with you, did you?”

"Yep. I'll have a look," said Kiri. "Here, Emiliano." She gave the body of the guitar one last, longing pat, than, carefully, handed it over to the boy. With a sigh, she got up and stretched. Her spine crackled satisfactorily. She turned to look upwards. There were no stars out yet, or maybe Kiri couldn't see them because of the fire, but the dark sky excited her immensely for some reason. She was going to sleep beneath it tonight! Feeling happier than she'd had in a long time - probably even better than when she'd heard that the floods in the school were receding - she practically bounced to the basket and, kneeling down next to it, inspected its contents.

There was a ton of marshmallows, as Mr Masterson and Vanessa had said. In a second partition, a variety of bottles were stacked on top of each other. Kiri pulled one out and held it against the light of the fire. Pumpkin juice. The smell of the marshmallows was terribly seductive. Kiri looked around furtively, then simply grabbed the entire basket and pulled it towards the spot where she, Vanessa and Emiliano were sitting. "Here... we... go..." she said, letting herself fall onto her sleeping bag. "Marshmallows and pumpkin juice."

"VANNIE!" he exclaimed hugging the Prefect and totally interrupting her in a conversation she was having with someone. OOPS. heehee

But she was graduating soon and he would miss her.

It was sorta awkward hugging someone on the floor though, so he decided to shift down to the ground while still clinging to her.

He heard a small meow and looked down seeing his kitten, now almost a full year old prancing beside him Shaking his head, he nodded towards the spot he was headed, her following close behind. Hopefully Roma wouldn't try to eat her he thought stopping beside Elizabeth and smiling down at her. "Is this spot taken?" He asked gently, a grin forming on his face.

He hadn't seen her around much since the whole great hall/headmaster incident. He didn't want to think of that much. Instead he pulled his binky closer to him, wrapping it around his shoulders like a shawl.

Somehow, in her perusal of the groups of people around the unlit fire, Elizabeth had missed seeing William in them. Of course, with everything that had gone on, she couldn't really say she'd seen him much since the flooding. But now, as she watched Mr. Masterson light the fire, she caught movement in the corner of her eye, and looked over to see the younger boy heading over to her, with a little kitten trailing after him. As he stopped, she shifted her weight so she could reach out a hand to ruffle the kitty's fur as she looked up at him with a smile. "Hey William," she said, "Nope. Not taken. And who's this little one?" She continued petting the kitten as he settled in, then watched as he wrapped a blanket around himself. "So your shoes don't look worse for wear, what with the fact we're not flooded anymore," she commented with a grin. "Cold?"

Probably showed up to make sure I don't get any sleep. Garret whined and moaned in his head about Daphne being there, but as much as he hated to admit it: he liked having her around. Even when she was being abusive and hateful like she was now, because she was funny! Being all huffy and cleaning the dirt and zapping flies. Hey, at least he wouldn't be eaten by mosquitoes tonight!

"She's just 'ere to remind us all that she's Queen of Everything," Garret mumbled to himself, hoping that neither Daphne nor Winnie had heard him, "and maybe poke me with a stick and shove me in the fire..." he picked up another bean, heard Winnie's question and answered, "Oregano." before he popped a Toenail flavoured bean in his mouth.

The boy spat it out and wiped his mouth on the blanket wrapped around his head. Bertie Bott was a mad genius!

Sarah ran down to the grounds when she heard there was a camp going on.Never in her life had she been on one,but now was the perfect time to start.Bright yellow sleeping bag tucked under her arm she came to a halt just a way away from the group.Looking over at them she could see the roaring of a log fire, marshmellows being eaten, and students and professors chatting.Unfortunately, she also noticed, there was no-one she knew.Deciding that she didn't care,Sarah walked over to them and plonked herself down in a free space. "Hey everyone," she smiled, giving them a small friendly wave. "Have I missed anything good?"

"I had nothing better to do but to teach a duck how to divine," she answered genuinely in a dull voice.

Homework was a daft bird. He liked to poop on her textbooks as well. Daphne was considering this little endeavor a break from stupidity.

In her efforts to make a new ground with blankets, Daphne didn't catch Garret's mumbling. Tired already, she flicked her hair over her shoulders. Her cheeks colored pink from the exercise. "Okay!" she panted. "I'm done!"

Yay! Daintily, she lowered herself over the blankets and crossed her legs. Except, in her efforts to cover the dirt and grass--she had forgotten all about getting a blanket to cover herself.

Heh. "Garret, be a dear," she cooed flicking a manicured finger over his shoulder. "Stop mumbling and hand me another blanket?"

Nabs 08-05-2009 10:29 PM

Scowling at the fact that Daphne always seemed to assume that he was there for her personal bidding, Garret whipped the blanket wrapped around his head off and chucked it in her general direction so that the thing landed over her head, "There you go, darling." he grinned at having possibly silenced Daphne Hopton for a moment.

She was going to explode in a second though, so he decided to enjoy the break while he could. Leaning back, Garret stretched out on his sleeping bag, hands tucked under his head as he watched the darkening skies overhead. He kinda wished it would rain. Just so he could watch Daphne run around like a drowning rat.

Liisa 08-05-2009 10:29 PM

What a perfect day for a camp-out, Professor Morgan thought to herself glancing out of her open window. "You ready to go, boy?" she said, patting her legs with her hands. In response, the sweet little puppy jumped into her waiting arms. "Good boy. Time to go see your Daddy," she said with a scratch behind his tiny ears. With her overnight bag in one hand, she held the dog close with the other and set off towards the campsite, closing her door behind her.

Ili hadn't walked for long before hearing the murmured voices of a small crowd. She had no trouble at all spotting Masterson and his big Roma dog. "Constantine, HEY!" she said, smiling as she made her way over.

William grinned, allowing his feet to cross over themselves as he nodded, "This is Zora." he said giving her a small pat as he moved around Elizabeth, purring as she got some attention. He chuckled, "She loves getting attention." he added shaking his head before getting more comfortable as he looked around some more at the mention of s'mores. At the mention of his shoes he chuckled, "They're back to normal now, thanks to Arethusa. Found them in my dorm room sitting on my bed next to my bag." he said looking down at his shoes, thankful he didn't have to wear those hideous ones anymore.

Before he could say anything else Robert walked up, sitting behind Elizabeth and hugging her from behind. Insert third wheel here he thought trying not to remember how rude he had been in the great hall before helping to save him. "Hi Robert." he said a bit hesitantly, moving his stuff back a bit to give them some space. Zora didn't seem to like being moved and meowed at him before getting comfortable. Why did he have to be so uncomfortable around people he didn't know? Was it the curse of the Cullacks again coming back to haunt him? He didn't know, so he pulled out his potions textbook and began reading, giving them some space.

Reese hurried down to the grounds carrying her green sleeping bag. After she has been waiting all day for this, she ended up running later. Gosh darnit. Next time she needed to keep a better eye on the time. As she got closer and closer to the camp site, she noticed how many people were there. Woah. So many people! This was going to be so much.

"Hello Mr. Masterson," she greeted with a smile. She sat her sleeping bag on the ground and then looked at everyone that was nearby to see if she could see any of her friends.

Emiliano blinked. Play something for the school? The public. Eh...he was a bit doubtful about it. He wasn't so sure he could stand the crowd. And what if he got too nervous and ruined the performance? Wait, Emiliano Saenz. Please...calm down! There is no way you could look more ridiculous than you do with this hoddie in the middle of the almost-summer? "Sure, if you want..." He agreed, finally with a smile.

Mr. Masterson shared a few words, to which he may have clapped and thanked. It had been a crazy year for sure, and this camp out was a great idea to calm the students around and have a nice end-of-year party with their friends.

Kiri and Vannie went to look at the food baskets to find food, and returned with a bag of marshmallows and a bottle of pumpkin juice. Yum...the best day so far it was turning. He grinned to both girls and took a marshmallow, ate it in less than a second. Let's hope he didn't choke. No...he didn't.

"So, Vanessa...you play the bass? By any chance, do you know Lima, or...participate with her and some other friends at the band called Lima and the Lemurs?" He didn't remember who were the integrants of the band. So far, he knew about Miles, Reese and Lima and Whitney.

Then she laughed a little, as first the younger boy seemed to hear the same thing she had, about smores, or at least that's what she thought, and then he responded to her comment about his shoes.

"Isn't it always great when stuff like that happens. Like, you think something's gone, but then someone does something to bring it back," she said with a smile, before it seemed he became uncomfortable. And it hit her once William hesitantly greeted Robert. Eep. She certainly didn't want anyone to be uncomfortable because they felt like a third wheel. Especially not people she liked. She glanced at Robert once as William buried himself in a textbook, then sighed.

"REESE!" he called out as he noticed the blonde Slytherin looking around as if she was lost. But he wasn't letting go of Vannie. Nope. They would have to drag him away from the Prefect.

Squish. Squish. Squish. He clung to Vannie for dear life.

Reese jumped a little bit when she heard someone yell her name. What was up with people yelling her name when she was near? She turned to face the direction of where the voice came from and her face brightened up when she saw Torin, who was clinging onto Vannie. What was up with that? Torin didn't like Vannie, did he? No, he couldn't. He liked Bunbury, but then again...

"Torin!" She exclaimed as she walked over to him and Vannie. "What's up?"

Mari walked down to the camp out area with Cayden, her hand in his and a sleeping bag in her other hand. It bumped against her leg a little as they went along. She closed her eyes a moment; the air smelled really nice. " So this should be fun, hmm?" She said, glancing up at him before she looked around, hoping she would find Elizabeth sooner rather than later.
