Broccoli was walking down the corridor. A small trial of dirt, ratty feathers, and human hair followed behind the short boy. He hadn't realized it, but his jimsom weed, sulfur, honey, and thyme which he had concocted to fix his dandruff problem, was making his honey colored hair fall out.

He had spent the better half of the day up in the owlry trying to cox his family owl down from the rafters. The bird hadn't come down and Broccoli had wasted most of his day. He was now hungry and heading down the kitchens to find something to eat.

Valentine decided she needed to get out of her dorm room for the first time in ages. All of her time seemed to be taken up with classes, and studying for her NEWTS. There was no time to breathe. She needed to make some though. With Viola sitting on her shoulder- the girl dressed in all black as usual trekked down the stairs and started to wander through the halls.

She felt her foot slip on something, but was able to catch herself and not fall (for once) Her eyes looked down on the ground in search for what she slipped on. A trail of dirt, feather and... hair? Was that hair?

Following the path of hair she was curious as to what exactly what it was coming from

Broccoli turned a corner just as a large lump of hair fell out and landed on the floor near the feet of a suit of armor. Oblivious, like usual, Broccoli continued on, whistling happily to himself as he went, hands in his pockets and a swing in his step. Around his neck was his gris-gris bag that he had just repacked with boar bristles.

He paused, having thought he heard something and turned to look behind him. His whistling stopped as he looked down the corridor. He didn't see anything and so he shrugged and continued on down the hallway as he began whistling again.

Valentine continued to follow the path of hair. She found a rather large clump, right in front of a suit of armor. She picked it up- not really thinking she shouldn't. When she realized she didn't know why this hair was sitting there, she shuddered and tossed it back on the ground. Maybe it was contagious. I don't want to loose my hair too.

Valentine's hazel eyes looked up from the tosses piece of hair to see a small boy walking through the corridor, balding. "Um ahhh." Valentine wasn't a very vocal girl, and shy. "Ah... you're shedding!" She called out to him nervously.

He was just about to jump down the first stair when he heard a soft call. "Hmm?" he said spinning around on one foot, his hands still stuck in his pockets. "Shedding? Do I look like a dog to you or something? Because if I do," he eyed the girl up and down. "You should get your eyes checked." He pointed to his own trying to place where why the girl looked familiar.

"Um ahh..." Why was Valentine such a nervous person. How was she suppose to get a job when she got out of school when she couldn't talk to people she didn't know. This boy had to be a couple years younger than her at least.

Valentine pointed to her temple as she tried to find the words to say to him. He must have not noticed the trail of hair behind him. "You're... you're hair." She said tapping her own temple

"Yeesss," he drawled wondering what made the girl so dafty. "It's honey colored. I'm sure you can get the dye witch to makes yours the same color if you wanted next time you go to Hogsmeade." He raised an eyebrow as he looked around the hallway. He totally missed the trail of hair beind him.

He was a sarcastic little brat. Valentine shook her head. "No..." Oh how she was horrible at just spurting out the truth. "You're... you're hair is gone."

Valentine combed her fingers through her own dark hair to demonstrate. She had all of her hair, and no strands appeared in her fingers when brushed through her hair.

"What do you mean my hair is gone? It's not gone." He reached up and tugged on a strand only to have the entire lock come out between his fingers.

"AHHHH!" He yelped loudly as he dropped his hair onto the floor. "I'm going bald!"

Valentine jumped slightly when the boy yelled out in surprise. How could he not notice the trail behind him? Now she was curious as to where the feathers and dirt were coming from. She exaimened him, and then assumed that he must have been up in the owlery.

She then nodded slightly. "That is what I was trying to tel you."

"Why didn't you just say it then?" he said exasperatedly. "How did this happen? I don't understand. I'm too young to be be going bald!"

He reached up and touched another lock of hair only to have it fall out into his hand as well.

"I... I don't know." Valentine's eyes widened, almost panicked. Now that the boy had realized he was balding, she felt as though the situation was a little more real, and she got herself stuck into it.

"Maybe we should run to the hospital wing? Or go off to see the potions professor for something to help..." Valentine tried to think of something that would help the situation, and threw ideas out in the air

"The what or who?" Broccoli's brain was shutting down and he wasn't sure what to do with himself let alone what to do with the girl who had found him in the hallway. "I don't know..." He fiddled with the hair in his hands. "What would be better? I don't know why it's doing this?" He reached up to tug on his hair in frustrations but stopped. Wouldn't do any good to pull more hair out.

Valentine sighed. It seemed as though the boy was going into some sort of panic attack. "The hospital wing? Did you put anything in your hair? Drink something weird? Flunk a new spell?" There were so many things that could be causing the balding that was currently going on. Maybe he was just prematurally going bald.

"I didn't do anything besides wash my hair with a dandruff fixing potion!" He said frantically. He started pacing in a small circle which happened to be around a large clump of hair that was piled on the floor. His hand reached into his robes and produced his gris-gris bag which he fondled nervously. I don't think the boars bristles are helping...someone must have hexed me!

Valentine watched the boy run around in panic. A dandruff fixing potion? There must have been a bad reaction to it- or been tampered. Whatever the reason was, she had a feeling that the boy was not going to listen to anything she really had to say.

"Come on." She grabbed onto the boys arm and started to walk down the corridor- making her way, and bringing the boy with her, to the hospital wing.
