"Alright that sounds fair." Amanda said then smiled, that was what she was waiting to hear; it didn't matter what happened with that when she wasn't around. She started playing her guitar again, moving her fingers along the neck to play a sweet and gentle melody.

"You look tired Gabben, I think I'll go and work on some homework in the common room. I'll see you later." Amanda said then leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, getting up and taking her guitar with her; she headed towards the common room.

Lucy came running down the corridor a piece of paper in one hand. She had been looking for Gabben everywhere! Running through all the unflooded floors, barging into a few classroom. Lucy had picked up the Aparecium on her way up to the dorms and what she had read shocked her. Looking around frantically Lucy spotted Gabben sitting on a bench.

"Gabben! Gabben! You won't believe what I just read!" Lucy said running up to him and waving the Aparecium around. "Look!" She said thrusting it into his hands.

A soft squeal of delight tumbled from Issy’s lips and her eyes widened. Without using such words, Samson had asked her to take care of him! This was her turn to return the favor and she felt a bubble of pleasure build in her stomach and she had to catch herself from doing an excited little shimmy. Instead, she wriggled away from him and danced in front of him, tipping her head back to take him in as her hands fluttered for his, slipping her fingers in between his.

“You want me to take care of you!” she squealed out loud, a soft, gentle voice. She swayed their hands back and forth between them. “I get to return the favor. And… make it up to you for that time I… sneezed all over you.” For a moment, Issy’s eyes dipped to the floor and a small grin curled half of her mouth. It had been nasty and he’d flailed a bit, but in the end, Samson had wiped her nose, so Issy figured it all had worked well in the end.

“But…” Her forehead wrinkled as she frowned. “How can I take care of you? I can’t get into the Boys Dorm so obviously, you can’t be tucked into your bed and even if I could, I imagine someone would have a conniption fit if I was cuddling with you in your bed.” Issy chuckled at the memories fluttering into her mind. During the summer, when he’d stayed with her for that week, Issy had gotten sick towards the end and Samson, sweet Samson, had been lovely and took care of her.

And now it was her turn!

With her fingers still twining between Samson’s, Issy nodded at the subject of the Ravenclaw House. “Ahh, yes. About that… Uhm… See… we’ve been joined.” Issy’s upturned nose wrinkled and she made a face, pursing her lips. “See, there’s been a lot of flooding going on in the school, and you know how the Slytherins live in the Gryffindor Common Room? Well… the Hufflepuffs live with us…”

And it’s awful!

“It’s certainly a commotion.”

Where toooo? Because, quite honestly, if Issy had to admit it, she quite desired to curl up with Samson right now. A lovely cuddle would make him feel better, wouldn’t it? How could it not? She looked back up at him, adoration coloring her features and filling her cheeks with a gentle pink. Even pale and recovering from the flu, Samson was still so irresistibly gorgeous and beautiful and why?! It was so utterly unfair. The mere sight of him made her want to swoon.

He knew it, too, didn’t he? Blast him!

To make matters worse, though, she mused, was that she still looked like she was thirteen or fourteen. Hmph. And heeee! He looked amazing and beautiful and so much older than her. It didn’t help that he towered so far above her! Ag!

“Merlin’s Pants, you’re beautiful,” Issy murmured, unaware that those lips had fallen from her lips.

"Er, yeah, I guess so..."

It was so good that Issy could catch on so quickly. Samson didn't like it very much when he had to elaborate and say what he really meant, especially the mushy stuff. It made him feel uncomfortably girly. However, he didn't mind much when his actions depicted the mushy stuff. Like right now, he could comfortable hold both Issy's hands as she swung them back and forth. It actually felt nice.

"Don't you worry about having to tuck me in and all. I can do that on my own. Of course, when I fall asleep on the couch in the Common Room, I'm gonna need you to tuck me in, and maybe even sit beside me if you want. Just in case I fall over, you know. Couches aren't my thing," he hinted, nodding his head. Then he heard the bit about the Common Room and the sharing. He wrinkled his nose at it, but then merely shrugged. "Well then that just gives us more of an excuse to stick together, right? We can't be mingling with the Hufflepuffs all the time. We might get confused with them and whatnot. It's better to just... stay together till they get to fix that flood." He squeezed her hand then. "Geez, you'd think a whole castle full of witches and wizards would be able to remedy a simple flood," he muttered as a side comment.

Samson paused with the talking for a while, and looked down on Issy again. He caught her staring. That was okay now. He didn't mind. When Issy looked at him, it felt more comfortable than anyone else looking at him. It wasn't the foolish, fan girly kind of stare. It was the really close and affectionate almost-girlfriend but not quite kind of stare. And even when he'd normally be creeped out by her muttered words of praise on how 'beautiful' he was (he just didn't see it, really), he felt grateful for it now. At least he knew Issy still held some interest for him.

"Not as pretty as you, though," he said in the same soft tone, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear gently.

The level of awkward at which Samson behaved made Issy want to swoon. Merlin, Awkward!Samson was positively adorable. Omnomnom. But instead of launching herself at Samson and hushing his awkward ways with her lips (which she dearly desired to do), she merely settled for smiling happily.

"Well, just know, Mister Carswell, that if I could, I would tuck you into your bed and sit with you and make sure that you slept well." Oooh! How she truly desired to be able to take care of him. It made her feel like they were connected more than by interlinked fingers and spoken words. Forgive the girl, but she wanted more! Something more to go with the words. She was sixteen! Issy desired conclusion to their coming together!

Was it so wrong that she just wanted to be able to call him hers? In her mind, Issy played with the words. My boyfriend, Samson. Ag, how silly. But, she had told him she believed him to be her soul mate... Oh Merlin, she was silly.

"Either way, Samson. You know I would gladly sit on the couch with you. I'd wrap you up in a blanket and I'd take your temperature if I had to and ensure that you get plenty of fluids. And when you're not sleeping, I would sit beside you and talk to you and when you finally fell asleep, I'd stroke your hair."

Merlin, she adored playing with his hair so much. Instead of reaching for it, she instead continued to sway their hands between them.

Oh Hufflepuffs. What a fine excuse for Issy and Samson to spend more time together. The fact that it was Samson proposing this meant they stick together filled her with glee. A long time ago, Issy had learned that, as long as she was with Samson, she would be happy. Brushing aside her fringe, her gaze remained on Samson, a serene smile upon her face.

But nothing could top what came next. Issy did all she could not to swoon and she fought to prevent the sigh that wanted to escape her parted lips as Samson tucked back a lock of hair she'd let fall free. But it was the words... her heart soared, her head buzzed, her body trembled gently.

"Samson..." she breathed, sighing. Whenever he did performed such simple actions or said such things... ag! It filled her with such bubbly sweetness... Her fingers curled tighter upon the remaining fingers she still linked to. "Oh, Samson, you're..." Her breath fell short.

*Gabben rolled over the the bench and tried to push the paper out of the way. He had been dead asleep when Lucy had shoved the paper under his nose.*

"Can't this wait till I'm awake..."

"Gabben this is no time to sleep!" Lucy yelled waving to page around even more. Lucy frowned and a took her huge potion book out of her bag and hit Gabben's head with it.

"Your being an idiot that's why!" Lucy said. "Now look at this! NOW!" She said shoving the Aparecium into his hands. "Your not going to like it." She added. "But there is something you might like."

"I thought you'd like the part with Amanda. But I have no clue how they found out. Probably Helios and his big fat mouth!" Lucy responded, clenching her fist. "What are you gonna do? She asked quietly.

"I have no idea what I can do now... it's gotten out. I'm fine with people knowing about Amanda and me. I'm more worried about the other part... I guess it had to get out sooner or later. I just wanted it to be later..."

Lucy sighed and looked down. "Well look on the bright side. No one's gonna have the guts to pick a fight with you. Maybe Helios, but who cares about him." She said, a small smile on her face.

Lucy shrugged. "Well I don't know the why they would want to, but who would want to pick a fight with a future king?" She asked. "You could throw them in a dungeon. Or better, feed them to a dragon." She said grinning. "Yup, feed Mr. Prefect to a dragon, preferably a Horntail." She added nodding her head.

Lucy shook her head smiling. "My lips are sealed." She said doing the key and lock thingamabob. "Nothing you can do is gonna make me tell you. NOT even begging on your knees will make me tell you." She said remembering the lake.
