When Amanda noticed Lucy, her mood went down immediately, she really didn't want to deal with that pathetic excuse for a Slytherin anytime. "Oh haha, my friends are busy and I'm only dangerous with a Beater's bat in my hand, you're just lucky that I won't hurt you with my bat.. I'm saving that for the opposing Chasers." She said, with a slight glare, merlin that girl just was going to send her to St.Mungo's.

Lucy rolled her eyes. "Yeah sure." She said. Lucy could fell her anger building as Amanda threatened her. A fourth was threading her! "You should be happy I don't take my wand out and hex you into oblivion! She said, a smirk on her lips. She hated Amanda, Lucy was so close to moving her wrist ever so slightly causing her wand to pop into her wand.

"I love to see you try to hex me, I may only be a fourth year.. but guaranteed I could make you cry for your mother." Amanda said with a smirk, putting her hand near her wand, ready to draw it if she needed to. She wasn't going to take this nonsense from a fifth year, she wasn't scared of Lucy at all either.

Lucy chuckled looking at Amanda. "Sure Lesalle. Well see about that." She said beginning to walk again. She didn't have time to argue with a silly, dumb fourth year who thought she knew everything because she was rock star. No Lucy had better things to do, like be with friends who weren't scared of her.

"That's right Porter, walk away like the scared little chicken you are." Amanda said with a smirk then drew her wand. "If you're as good as you claim to be, then you'll meet me in the duelling arena in about 5 minutes. If you don't show, then I'll know you're scared and inform everyone." She said with a big smirk on her crimson lips, she wasn't playing around anymore and decided that she had enough.

Lucy turned around and faced Amanda. "Deal, I'll meet you there a few minutes. I just need to go put my things away." She said her smirk growing bigger.

Amanda smirked and put her wand away for the moment, this girl had no idea what she was in for. "Alright, I'll see you there." She said with another smirk, then turned around and headed off towards the Duelling Arena.

Willow giggled. “Dad thinks food is the cure to everything though.” She pointed out to her sister as they walked out into the corridor. “He virtually force fed me KFC when my broom broke and I hit my head.. remember?” She smiled at Paris as she squeezed her hand and squeezed hers back in return.

She looked at the bag and pointed a slender finger at the wee fish swimming around. “I rescued him from the lake.” She informed her. “His fin is hurt see?” She showed her sister, “He seems ok.. just a little slow, poor thing.” The poor wee thing would have just got left behind by his friends to be eaten by some predictor or another.

She smiled too as they talked about their dad. It was instantly cheering Paris up. "Yeah its a wonder none of us are fat from all the food he cooks for us." She pointed out. "I like KFC. Those little chicken bite thingys are really good when you need a quick bite." She did remember when Willow broke her broom and fell. Their mom had almost fainted, even though Willow was perfectly ok except for the tiniest bump on the forehead. But that was what moms did. "I do miss dad's cooking though. Well I miss dad really," she said softly as her and her sister walked down the corridor holding hands. It felt so reassuring having her sister there.

She looked at the little fish in the bag. "You're as bad as Lucas." She chided with a smirk. Their brother was always brining home animals, well so was there dad. His animals usually could eat the lot of them. "Well I'm sure Professor Morgan has something in her hut that can fix the little guy up. And with your delicate hand he will be to jumping around in the lake in no time." She smiled.

Willow was pleased when Paris visibly cheered. She giggled as they talked about their dad. “His curries are the best.” She said enthusiastically feeling more and more hungry as they talked. "Real heart warmers when you're feeling blue." But cake was going to go down really well... carrot cake with a blob of cream.. yum. She looked at her sister. “I miss everyone.. mum, dad, Lucas and all the twins!” Dillon and Joseph were annoying as hell, and Ben and Devon just spent their whole time crying and puking, but she still missed them terribly. She was pleased she had Paris at Hogwarts with her.. she loved school at New York but the homesickness almost killed her at first.

She nodded. “I need to get a tank to keep him in and hopefully Edwin won't take a dislike to him... or.." She added with a wry smile. "...think he's dinner.” She smirked. Her little sugar glider loved humans but didn't take kindly to other animals.. especially smaller animals than himself.

“You feeling any better?” she asked Paris softly. “If you don't feel up to going to Hogsmeade, we can just go to the Great Hall if you want.” She offered. They were bound to find something devilish and full of happy endorphins to eat there too.

She nodded. "I love his spicy ones even though he makes me eyes water." she loved everything he cooked. It was a shame their mother couldn't cook. Paris remembered some of her failed attempts at Ghanaian food. They had been sick for days. "Yeah mom and dad are the best at cheering us up. I can't wait till the Christmas holidays, mom says we can go to the tree lighting in New York this year. I miss everyone a lot. Even JoJo." She added. Her and JoJo fought like cats and dogs all the time. Rolling around on the carpet with each other. Pairs usually won because she knew magic, but JoJo was stronger than her already.

She looked at her sister. "You and Lucas always pick common animals. Why not a nice monkey like Prada?" She asked her sister. "I mean something to make yourself stand out. Set yourself apart" She told her, she couldn't understand her sister was so shy. If Paris had half the talent her sister did there would be no stopping her. She would be a diva of epic proportions. "We can order a tank from Diagon Alley. There is a magazine in the common room. I can get a new leash for Prada as well." Paris didn't care what it was she loved to shop.

"I feel a little better yeah." she told her, but truth be told she wasn't feeling like a trip to Hogsmead. Theo's tantrum was till fresh in her mind. "Want to pack up a picnic and go outside. Like we used to do at home all the time. Well minus Dillon and JoJo charming the bangers to chase us around the backyard." she giggled. Her little brothers were bigger terrors than she was. Dillon was a Houdini would could escape from anything and JoJo was the mastermind to all their devious plans.

Willow's brown eyes lit up at the mention of New York and Christmas. Willow loved being in the Big Apple among all those muggles – the whole family loved muggles. And where better to be at New Year than New York? “I think mum feels bad cos we spend the entire Christmas at grandma Afia's house last year.. and dad was miserable I could tell.” He never said it aloud or complained, but his eyes lost their usual glint while they were there. “I think she wants to make it up to all of us.” She giggled when she said she missed Joseph – they were always at each others throats over something or another. “Well they say you fight with the ones you love the most.” She informed her sis.

“Edwin is not common.” Willow replied mock defiantly. “I didn't even know what a sugar glider was until I saw him in the menagerie and dad pointed him out to me. ..But Bob here isn't really a pet.. I'll put him back in the lake when he's strong enough.” She nodded at her sister's words. She had a large glass bowl Bob could stay in until the tank arrived.

Willow grinned, practically bouncing on the spot at the prospect of a picnic out in the grounds. “I like your thinking.” She said with a smile, bumping her hip against Paris's. “Lets take a basket to the Great Hall and get some treats to take with us.” She laughed at the thought of Dillon and Joseph and the fun they always had when the family all got together. It was a good job both their parents were laid back people otherwise the seven, yes seven, of them would have driven them mad by now.

She knew Willow would be happy about New York, it was her favorite place. Paris loved the shopping. They actually had a street called Fashion Avenue. That place wold built for her. "Yeah I didn't like it either. I don't get why grandma hates dad so much." She said trying to keep her temper in check. If you didn't like Nathan Greenwood you didn't like his daughter. "Yeah dad is always nervous around her. Always smoothing out his shirt, slicking back his hair. Trying to jump through her hoops. Like she is Queen of the universe." Her chest was rising and falling fast as she thought of her grandmother hating her father. She shook her head she wasn't going to let her grandmother mess up their picnic. "Yeah well sometimes I want to love JoJo till his tiny little head pops off." she giggled.

She shrugged. "Edwin is alright then," Paris nodded. She had never sen a sugar glider before she had to admit, but monkeys were cuter. Yeah thats good. He might belong to a merperson already or something. she pointed out to her.

She giggled as her sister bounced up and down. It must be a Greenwood thing because they all did it. Lucas most often, and he did look cute when he did it. "I like your compliment." she winked back at her sister. She smiled when Willow hip bumped her. Good thing they were the same size otherwise that could have sent Paris sprawling. "Yeah lets go raid the Great Hall and then go for a picnic." she agreed. It was just like old times before everyone separated to go to school. The family used to spend their days in the backyard next to the pool with their picnics. "We should get mom to pack us up some picnics when we go home for the holidays next week." she said thinking out loud. The whole family was so laid back, it was great being at home.

Kazimeriz strode into the hallway of the corridor, still dragging Jake out of the Headmaster's office by his ear.

He let go as soon as they were a few steps into the corridor. "Upstead. You will utter not one word of the events that transpired in that office, not to anyone living or dead, are we clear?" he hissed at the boy.

That... that was definitely pain that Jake was feeling. Yep... yep it was. Uhhhh huh. But... somehow, Jake ignored it. Yeah... still in shock. "What events, sir?" he asked, blinking slowly, gradually moving his gaze up to the old man's face. "Oh... you mean where you was crying an' that? Or...?"

Tact. Jake had none.

Kazimeriz glared. "I am sure I do not know what you are speaking of. Now, enough. I will escort you to your common room; meanwhile, I believe we have a matter to discuss. To begin with: you will explain to me why you did not arrive in my office when summoned. " Kazimeriz began to walk down the corridor.

"What do you mean? I totally saw you..." Jake blinked, staring after the man as he began to walk off. HE WAS TALKING IN RIDDLES! Soooooo evil. "My common room is flooded, sir... 'member?"

Maybe he was losing it in his old age. Yup.

Ooooooh... maybe not. Stupid ol' man had such a stupid memory. "I... didn't want to come," Jake said, semi-honestly, catching up with Kazi. There were in fact many reasons... but that would do.

"I am aware of the situation in the Hufflepuff common room. I am escorting you to your new location; Ravenclaw has been hospitable enough to welcome the displaced badgers. Now. You did not wish to come, you say. Elaborate." he said simply, continuing to shuffle-klomp forward with his cane, leading them.

"Well... technically that's not my common room," Jake muttered, feeling positively bitter about the whole fandango. "We're just utilising it..."

But... enough about that.

NOOOO!!!!! BACK TO IT!

"Well... I just, didn't want to go," Jake shrugged, chewing on his thumbnail, a nervous habit he'd acquired over the years. "There's not really much to say. That's how it's always been... I don't want to do something... so I don't do it..."

Simple.

... riiiiiiight?

"And I've had... stuff going on."

"Stuff? What 'stuff' was possibly more important than reporting to one of the masters of this school when asked to appear, Mister Upstead?" he asked, rather astounded. Kazimeriz gave the boy credit for at least being honest, so he would hear him out before deciding what discipline the boy would face.

Shrugging, Jake let the toes of his shoes scrape against the floor as he shoced his hands deeeeep into his pockets. Bleh, maybe the old man was losing his sight, too. "I dunno..." he mumbled, trailing off a little. "There's them lessons Lawson was giving me... then I had them couple of detentions, ain't it? And... I dunno, sir. My head just... wasn't working." That was the best way Jake could explain it... if he thought about it anymore, said dysfunctional brain would probably explode.

"Lawson?! You are taking special lessons with Lawson?" he demanded. The child was being drawn into Lawson's plot, being distracted from answering to Kazimeriz... perhaps Lawson was even building a small army, all aimed at conspiring against him? "What sort of lessons? Tell me at once what he is doing!" he said sharply, turning to face the boy.

"Huh, what?" Jake replied, feeling more and more distracted. "Uhhhm, I dunno..." he said, helpfully, still chewing on his thumbnail. "You know... the usual... stuff," Jake went on,glancing around at him. "NOT that I plan on going back," he added bitterly. "That... man... he just... he does a whole bunch of things. He hung me from the ceiling by my underwear! Bloody menace!"

Hmmm, strange outburst. But immediately Jake reverted back to his distracted and apathetic state. "You know," he repeated, glancing down the corridor. "Lessons... 'bout stuff."

Kazimeriz's eyes widened. "He did what? Upstead, you must tell me about these lessons. Leave nothing out." He would have this upstart Lawson removed from the planet school if he was being heavyhanded with the students. (After all... If there was one thing Kazimeriz would not tolerate, it was being upstaged by another wizard! )

"Leave me out of it," Jake mumbled, frowning down at the floor. He was NOT going through all that again. Lawson was a jerk, but Jake was NOT NOT NOT about to tell anyone about that whole thing... it had been bad enough at the actual time when there had been females in the room not that Jake really seperated people by gender. "There's no must about it," he added, wishing he could squeal, but remembering what Lawson kept saying.

"I can't even remember," Jake liiiiiied, siiiidling along.
