You better believe that Jake loved stationary. He'd always loved the muggle stores where they sold pens and folders and paper and notebooks and highlighters and... siiiiigh.

He hadn't had a chance to come here last year, so he was just as eager to be here now. More so, even.

And, yet again, he'd be getting one of everything in here. There was nobody here, so he couldn't be accused of flashing his cash, as it were, right?

So he got everything... even the stationary sets for other houses... kinda.

Melanie walked into the shop eagerly looking around at all the feathery things and ink and parchment and journals and- and all that other school-ish stuff.

Right...exciting. Orrrrr not so much. whatever though she needed some new ink...she was running out already, particularly of the color changing kind, her favorite.

It wasn't long though before Melanie got distracted from her cause, catching the glint of bright pink hair in one of the windows.

And she only knew two things with that color of hair, and one she was positive would NOT be allowed in a quill shop.

"JAKE!!!" she shouted, skipping over to the boy, and may I say in the process knocking over a few stacks of journals... Pffffttt ohhh well, she'd get them later. "You went missing!" she informed him promptly, pointing a finger accusingly at the pink hair boy. "You could've been like...DEAD or something!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up. Because, obviously if someone missed a bit of quidditch tryouts they had to be dead.

For the first time Melanie eyed the vast amount of supplies in Jake's arms, raising an eyebrow quizzically. "What's...all that for?" she asked, curiously, especially eying a stationary set for....What was that, Ravenclaw?

Weird...

Oh... dear... Merlin...

"Hey Melanie," Jake muttered uncomfortably, shifting his arms to hide the products in his arms. Shrugging about the whole thing about him going missing, Jake went and piled his stuff on the counter... not necessarily to pay just yet (because he didn't want Melanie to see all his money again) but just to his arms weren't all full. "I like stationary..." he pointed out, eyeing the items he'd just picked out.

Now... about the whole... missing thing. "I, er... got detention," Jake mumbled, hoping Melanie wouldn't think it was about the whole cat thing. "Not missing."

"Hey." Melanie replied, still looking at the stationary. Maybe he just liked writing a lot or something...Or maybe he was giving to some sort of charity...

Orrrrrr not. Melanie bit down on her lip so not to giggle as he said he liked stationary. "I sorta...got that much." she informed him. After all he did have loads of stationary, enough to last him quite a few years, of course he liked stationary.

Oh yes she was thinking about the cat thing, of course she was, but there were other reason's people could get detention right? Right?! She recalled, he did get detention last year... Well looking on the bright side, he hadn't gone missing, that was a plus.

"Why?" Melanie asked bluntly, but still curiously, hoping for an answer that didn't have to do with the pink cat...

"Hurt someone," Jake said shortly, looking a tad uncomfortable. For some reason, he didn't like to admit that to Melanie... the fact that he'd gotten overly angry and lashed out. It was the same when he was telling Shana. "And, kinda sorta wrecked a corridor..."

That... he didn't mind revealing.

"How's things?" Jake asked, rather lamely, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

Melanie's hazel eyes widened slightly at his answer to her inquiry. Out of all ways Jake could have gotten into detention she hadn't expected this one... Sure she knew he could get mad if someone did something out of order but...she hadn't really seen it coming.At least he didn't look proud or anything though, in fact Jake looked a bit uneasy as he admitted it...

And he... Wrecked a corridor?! Huh?! that came with about as much shock as the first reason. And the question was still lingering in her mind the first one she'd asked before: Why?

Melanie shifted uncomfortably, giving him a funny look. She had noooooo idea how Jake got himself into all this trouble, especially considering they weren't too far into the year. Apparently that was just something he was good at... Attracting drama.

"Who'd you hurt?" she asked first, desperately hoping it wasn't anyone she knew. Well actually...desperately hoping it wasn't anyone she liked. "And why would you wreck a corridor?" she continued curiously. The questions were only to be expected after an explanation like that.

"Things are good...If by things you mean school...your in the same classes as me and everything... uhhhh not much going on really, just been shopping and stuff...yeah." Melanie explained, offering him a small smile. not really anything new...Nothing that compared to the kind of mischief he got into anyway. Actually she was rather thankful of that.

"Anything new with you? Side's what you just told me?" she asked him to be polite.

"Anna Greingoth," Jake said simply, turning around to face the person behind the counter and getting a bag of money out of his inner jacket pocket before counting out what he owed. When that was done, Jake opened his school back (which was filled up on one side with sweets) and loaded the stationary up into the free half of it.

That bag... was heavy. "The head girl," he added, turning to face Melanie, glancing out behind her. He still hadn't confronted Kaika about the whole issue of missing the second half of tryouts... he wasn't even sure if she'd realised.

"Me?" Jake asked, thinking hard for a moment. He couldn't actually think about anything else other than the recent trouble he'd gotten in. "Errrr... I broke my wand..."

Poor Woody.

If Melanie's eyes widened any further they'd pop out of her head. "Anna." she repeated. "But- she's like nice and prefect-y and- and...cool...and well...why'd you wanna hurt her?" Melanie asked. Ohhhh yes, she was asking a lot of questions, but he didn't look angry or anything so far. And he was answering her questions so she wouldn't have to ponder on them all day.

Melanie watched him as he loaded his school bag with stationary squishing it in next to...

CANDY!!! HONEYDUKES CANDY!!! LIKE BUNCHES AND BUNCHES AND BUNCHES OF IT!!! Melanie stared at it, unable to stop herself. It all looked so goooood and sweet and sugary and yum worthy.

She wanted some. A bit anyway. Maybe a bit more than a bit... "Hey Jake...Look a Lemur!" she said promptly pointing out the shop window sooo as soon as he looked away... Mwahaha. Candy!

"Broken wand...that stinks...you should tape it back together or something. Or just buy a new one... How'd you break it anyway?" she asked absentmindedly, still eying the candy out of the corner of her eye.

"I was angry... I was scared... and I was, like, mega stupid," Jake admitted, furrowing his brow at the mere memory. Bleh, he wished he could just forget.

BLEH!

Bleh, I tell thee, BLEEHHHHHHH!!!!!

Jake didn't even turn around as Melanie mentioned a Lemur. At first he thought, maybe Lima... but no. She was gone. "Probably Goodwin's," Jake shrugged, fitting everything into his bag like the master of tetris he was. "Or... Cameron-" he seethed at his own daring to mentioned the name in front of himself. "-was going to get one."

Plus... lemurs were kinda freaky. Jake would run and look at one just as quick as he would run and see badger roadkill. And he'd been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

"I fell," Jake replied simply, shrugging as he closed his bag, feeling the extra weight and figuring he should be getting back. "And I was holding it... and... it snapped."

... Yeah, time to run. Jake could have sworn he was starting to see familiar people. It was all... paranoia. Because Kayla couldn't be here... it was impossible. "Hey, Melanie... I gotta get going," he said apologetically. "I'll catch up with you later, yeah?"

With that, Jake headed for the door and disappeared out into the street, heading towards the school fo' realz.

"Oh..okay then." Melanie said, giving him a small smile and shrugging her shoulders a bit. At least he wasn't going to try and act like he had a good reason to hurt the head girl...in fact again he looked a bit regretful about it...

"Oh." she said again, trying not to sound disappointed. Afterall...it wasn't a good thing considering, stealing candy from your friends...He didn't even look around though? Melanie tilted her head, stuck on a line between amusement and fascination as he said there actually could be lemurs out there. Really she'd have to open her eyes more or something...Hmph. Melanie found herself loosing interest in Jake's mound of candy, glancing out the window for REAL lemurs. Sides' it was all crammed into him bag now...out of sight. She'd just have to stop by Honeydukes sometime later...Or, it was getting a bit late, just hope one of her dorm mates were willing to share.

Jake fell...didn't really come as a shocker. Melanie simply nodded as he explained, sympathetically, not really knowing what to say.

Melanie sighed a bit as he left. Now she was gonna be all alooooone again. "M'kay...Bye Jake." she called as he left the shop the small bell at the top of the door ringing as he departed.

Melanie grabbed up her color changing ink from the shelf, taking it over to the counter for check out. When she was finished the girl left for the school as well, hoping to go up to the common room and get some of her homework done...

Jule rushed to Hogsmeade and entered the Quill Shop, panting. She grabbed a sketchbook, 3 everlasting quills, 2 color changing quills and a fragrance one. She looked around for anything she might need or wanted. Jule grabbed some stationary and walked to the register. She paid for her things and headed out the door. All she needed now was gift wrap and her gift was almost done. She didn't want anybody knowing about all the money her family had. And with her aunt working in the ministry now, it would rise. She then remembered she needed to write a letter to Abigail to buy her something she needed.

Lilly walked into the shop holding her bag from Honeydukes. she needed to buy quills, and since she was already at Hogsmead she decided to buy some. she got 1 Quick Quotes Quill,1 Self-Correcting Quill, 2 Spell Check Quills (she really needed that), and 1 Fragrance Quill to make her happy. she went up to the register and paid the amount owed and walked out the door with her purchase.

Jule walked into the shop again. She had wanted either a diary or journal for a while now. She gave up on deciding and picked up a journal and diary.
"Journal for public and Diary for private. I'll have to put a charms on it." she smirked and walked over to the register.
Wait...she needed quills. All her quills kept disappearing. She walked to the back and grabbed 3 color changing quills.
"Hehe, colorful." she smiled and walked back.

Divad followed her around. "Do you need me to carry anything for you?"

"Sure. Can you hold these quills while I get a stationary set and premade howler set?" she asked, sweetly.

There really weren't any good places to buy books in Hogsmeade. Copernicus had noticed it on his first visit and lamented it ever since. And so... he was going to do the next best thing. Buy a blank journal to fill himself. Not a diary because obviously diaries were for girls. But a journal was acceptable. He'd write all these thoughts on his future, the paths he'd considered, the research he'd done, and try to distill it into what he should do. Perfect.

So why was he standing here sniffing the pink scented quills that smelled of strawberries? It was weird.

Hufflepuff? Check. Slytherin? Check. Next on the list? Ravenclaw.

Now, Ravenclaw's were nerdy and stuff right? So, this should be the perfect place to find one. Stepping into the shop, Evolette's blue eyes swept the store in one shot. Then she spotted Copernicus standing over towards the back. Perfect. Good boy Cope!

"Hello." she said, brushing her hair behind her ear as she came to stand beside him, "Remember me?"

Smile.

Copernicus jumped and dropped the pink quill guiltily. Whoops! His ears and neck flushed as he scrambled to pick up the quill and stuff it back into the bin full of blue quills. Close enough.

"Erm. Hey." Once he had a moment to realize who it was that was interrupting him, Cope relaxed. Not someone likely to mock him for smelling the quills, hopefully, although it was hard to say. They'd only met briefly. "Evolette. Of course, I remember you. I'm not the cute brother, right?"

Evolette smirked, "I dunno, YOU were the one who said you weren't the cute one." she shrugged, "I don't think I have made my decision yet." Brushing her hair out of her eyes, she looked at the quills that he had been sniffing. "Find one that you liked?" she asked, grinning. Nah, she wasn't going to tease him for sniffing quills. She had more important things to do.

"Listen, I think I know what will help me decide which one of you is the cuter one." She paused for a moment. She wanted to ask permission before she did it. It was weird kissing someone that you already knew. Those other two, she'd never really met before, so she didn't feel TOO bad.

Well, here goes nothing.

Quick as a flash, Evolette kissed Cope. Wasting little time as she pulled back, offered him a friendly smile and assured him that everything would be explained, soon. "See you around Cope!" she called, giving him a wave as she quickly exited the shop.

HUUUUUUUUUUH? Copernicus wondered for a moment if he hadn't somehow fallen and hit his head, or maybe he was allergic to quills and was having a histamine reaction. Or... maybe Evolette had just kissed him and then run away.

Oh, but wait! There were rules about kissing! Copernicus booked it for the door, hoping to catch that sneaky McKenna in the street.

A leather-bound journal, that was what Fyodor Balouch wanted, right now. Cheeks slightly pink from cold, the third year Gryffindor made his way into Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, a muffler wrapped around his neck.

This should be.. interesting.

Shivering, Torin entered the Quill shop. He was curing himself for not remembering to buy more ink before winter had come.

That was when he noticed that Fyo was there. "Hey," he said smiling as he walked over to his new friend. "Long time no see," he joked.

Torrriiinn? Fyo's often-dreamy eyes lit up as the Hufflepuff in question walked into the quill shop and joined him - He was really beginning to like Torin, you know.

"Yeah, it's been forever," he laughed, moving towards a shelf. "What are you looking for? I need a new journal."

He followed Fyo as he walked towards a shelf and said, "I need some more ink."

"You know, I never would have pegged you for the kind of guy that writes a journal before. But it makes sense now." Fyo seemed to have an almost permanent dreamy look on his face. Torin didn't know how he managed that.
