"I could show you!" she smiled and blushed she wished he knew that she had a crush on him.

"yeah it was a huge surprise for me i couldn't believe it untill i ran away to Diagon Alley-"Sam cut of thinking she went to far."Well they both have very importent jobs soo my big brother did,He was upportive all the way in fact he was really happy ??"

Dani smiled at the girls before turning her attention to the food in front of her. What to eat first? The potatoes looked good so she grabbed some of those along with some roasted chicken and corn. There were some things she didn't recognize but she wasn't in the mood to experiment at the moment. Taking a bite of potato, she thought she had died and gone to Heaven. "Wow. This food is amazing."

Looking around she saw a boy she didn't know talking to Lasca. "Hi, I'm Dani." She smiled at him before turning back to Lasca and Mariel. "So, when do classes start?" She was impatient to start learning.

Noticing the slight hesitation, Satine knew that this was a difficult subject for Sam..."Well, I'm sure after you come home for Christmas break and show them all of your notes that they'll understand you're amazing talent. My dad is a Muggle and it took him a little bit to understand the Wizarding world, but he loved my mom so much that he learned fast." O she loved true love stories...as she thought this her eyes and hair turned a dark pink color.

A voice made Emiliano's concentration go a bit lose. It was Piper. His frown turned into a smile though he noticed some sort of sadness coming from her as well. "Hey, Piper" His mood had brightened for some reason.

And just for a second, his mind was somewhere else, still on the train thinking about that tense ride he had with both girls. Then at the next one, he was holding a piece of parchment, which he opened slowly then took a look at it. He gulped, really trying not to blurt out his emotions at the moment. The drawing perfect...He smiled wide. "I...Thank you..." Those were his only words, he was speechless at such amazing gift. Em hoped that soon, he'd be able to tell Piper about his feelings towards her, but first needed some clearing up to do.

"Stay..." He asked, getting hold of her hand. "...please." He added with a smile.

Startled, her hair turning almost completely silver as her heart jumped into her throat, Lasca jerked around to see who had scared her. "Sarah! Don't do that!" Her hand rested over her heart and she tried to get her breathing back under control.

She smiled. "Huffies are always welcome." She scooted over so that Sarah had room between herself and Mariel. Mariel was conversing with a bunch of Quidditch players so she didn't want to make her move.

Picking up her goblet she took a sip while her eyes strayed to the Slytherin table. She had caught a few short glances of Nate but now he was completely blocked from view. Shaking her head she returned her attention to her Hufflepuff best friend.

"So, where have you been?"

Lasca smiled at the first year. "Classes should start tomorrow. There will be notices up in the Common Room about which classes are when for you." She couldn't help but love Dani. She saw the same eagerness to learn in her that Lasca herself felt all the time. Of course there was one class that she could stand going to and that was Arithmancy. That was only because the class was a puzzle to her. She didn't understand any of it.

Sighing, she hoped this year would be different. "What classes are you excited about taking?"

Sam Smiled"aaw thats so cute"Sam Picked Up Some food then noticed that Satine hair had just changed color" oh my gosh!!Are You Metamorphmagus??"

Piper smiled as she watched Emiliano open her drawing and take a look at it. She let out a little sigh of relief as she heard him say thank you. "You are welcome." Piper said a little smile teasing the corner of her lips. "Um, I hope you like it.." She replied nervously, as one hand strayed to her pocket where the picture of her was. She hoped that maybe one day, she could reconnect the two, but for now.. She needed to back off and give him time to think.

However it seemed like Emiliano had other plans, for his hand suddenly grabbed hers and he was asking her to stay. All of her worries melted away when he did that. How did he know exactly how to fluster her? She could barely breathe when he took her hand, and she just nodded. "Okay, I will stay." She said with a soft smile as she sat down on the empty bench next to him.

" I guess in a way I am half and half too, half English and half American. My Dad grew up in Phliadelphia, so I spent a lot of time there when I was younger. It is a really neat city, I think. The other half of my family is from Surrey, not nearly so exotic." Ivy said as she tucked into a piece of cake that looked too tasty to be true.

"I am so jealous of all you quiddich players, I'm scared of heights."

Satine loved the way people reacted to her talent, "Yeppers I'm a meta-whatever. I can change my hair and my eyes. Sometimes they just change with my emotions which is cool but sometimes embarrassing. I think I can do it with other things like my lips but I'm afraid to do it in case they get stuck that way..."

She turned to see what was going on in the rest of the Great Hall and noticed that her friends at the Slytherin table where making faces at her. Satine turned around, "I'll be right back Sam, I've gotta go get some Slytherins for making faces at me." She jumped up, laughing, and ran to her friends.

Jule just sat there listening to everyone's conversation, not knowing what to say.

Samantha sits down and gets a bit sad because she doesn't know anyone else.

Dani gave a little squeal of excitement. "All of them. But I really can't wait for Herbology and Flying. It's going to be so fun!" She looked at Lasca and realized that she liked her, despite the whole Nate thing. Was she actually starting to look at Lasca as a friend? Smiling, she asked, "I'm horrible at math though, do we have to take math classes?"

She looked at Jules "how is your stomach now Jules" she was still looking at Thomas.

Copernicus Kettleburn glanced around the table and found that he wasn't seated near anyone he knew. Well. How was that for self-exile? He stared down at the table again. He sort of wanted to skip this part and get straight up to his dorm room. Only... Plymouth would be there, and there was no way he could avoid sharing a room with Copernicus now, which meant he'd probably be especially unpleasant.

Jule smirked at her. She noticed that she asked her about her stomach but Vicky was looking at Thomas. "It's alot better thanks."

Pyralis at down at the table and began eating.

Laughing out loud she couldn't help but catch on to the young girls excitement. Dani was a true Ravenclaw at heart and she loved it! Lasca's expression turned wry at the mention of math.

"Not math per se but we do have Arithmancy which based on numbers." She was slightly crestfallen at the turn of subject. Her Papa had tried to help her better understand the working of the subject but she still only had a rudimentry grasp on it.

Turning her head she scanned down the table. She was agitated at the change in subject as it reminded her of her failings. Her eyes drifted over an older Claw who looked rather lonely. She tried catching his eye, and gave him a small wave. She hated being alone herself and couldn't stand seeing someone else suffer so.

A person sitting down caught her eye and she smiled as she recognized the individual. "Pyralis! It's about time you made you grand entrance." She gave her newest friend a small wave.

Yeah. She had definitely made a few more friends. Okay, more then a few. But one could never have too many, right?

"That's ok, maybe I should tell him I have a crush on him even if we can't be together yet" she blushed.

"It's your desicion. I'll support which ever choice you make." smiled Jule.

"If I tell him and then he decides that I am mad and doesn't want to be my friend anymore" she almost burst into tears.

Sarah laughed as her friend nearly fell over with shock. "I'm sorry Lasca," she said glancing at her friend's now silver hair. "By the way that is a nice colour on you,brings out your eyes."
Smiling she swung her legs over the bench and sat down in the space made for her by Lasca. "I'm glad to hear it!" she responded to the Huffie comment.
Sarah loved spendng time with her friends from Ravenclaw,but she was always wary when they were talking to people she didn't know herself in case said people thought she was a rude,interrupting nuisence.

Now she was sat down she made light work of a goblet of pumpkin juice that she'd poured for herself.As she was drinking,Sarah caught Lasca,out the corner of her eye,watching the Slytherin table. "Something happening over there?" she asked turning to look herself. "Or are you ahem...looking for someone?"
She asked that last question with a playful tone in her voice.The look on Lasca's face was as if she was searching for someone amongst the crowd.

Sarah smiled when Lasca turned back to her. "Oh I've just been mingling at the Huffie table.Not much happening before I left to come over here," she said,replacing the empty goblet back on the table and reaching up to scratch the back of her neck. "Mind you I expect it all started afterwards...I mean...Dominic Denton was being nice to a first year.Something has to be up there!" Sarah laughed as she remembered the sight of him greeting the poor firstie back to the table.Weird.So unlike him.
"So what's been happening here? Have I missed anything good?"

"Aww why all the negativity now? I'll go ask him if you want or I'll just do it myself." Jule was now opening up about how out-spoken she really is.

"Can you go and ask him please" she wiped away the tears great she just cried on her first day.

Mariel returned the younger girl's smile. This girl already had lots of House spirit. Awesome. "That would be a really great idea," she said, nodding as she contemplated the thought. "Actually, we had something of a competition last term to see which House could muster up the most House spirit during the last two Quidditch games. Ravenclaw won that competition too," she added with a grin. "Of course, it was an assignment, and at other times fan support can sometimes be lacking. It would be really awesome if you could round up some other students to do something like that at all the games." Thinking for a moment, the third year added, "If you want to make it like an official club or something, you should take it up with our Head of House for permission though. But I'm sure he'd be all into that." Leaning closer, she added quietly, "He's a Quidditch legend, you know."

Mariel's unusually bright mood fell somewhat as she noticed Keltan's sarcasm. She knew it wasn't directed towards her per se, more like towards what she said. And for that she couldn't blame him. The partnering thing was always dreaded by the third year but she had pretty much accepted it as part of the routine by now. "Seriously?" Mariel told him, trying to give him a reassuring smile. "I honestly don't think you'll have a problem." Not after people met him and saw how friendly and well-mannered he was. "But how about when the inevitable announcement about partnering up is made, I'll look for you and if you don't already have a partner I'll be yours?"

Hopefully that would make him feel somewhat better about the situation if he knew he would have a back-up person when he couldn't find a partner. Mariel paused for a moment. What was with her being so abnormally friendly today? Not that she was typically anti-social or rude, but it was unlike her to go out of her way to be so nice. Sheesh. Something in the pumpkin juice, maybe. The third year eyed her goblet suspiciously.

Still peering at the inside of her goblet, Mariel jumped slightly and let out a tiny shriek at the sudden 'Boo' behind her. Gathering her bearings, she spun in her seat and burst out in laughter at the sight of Sarah. "You startled me!" she exclaimed, then glanced over at the silver-haired Lasca as she expressed nearly the same sentiment.

"Of course you're welcome to sit," she said as the Ravenclaw on her right slid over to allow the Hufflepuff girl to sit between them. "So how goes it at the Huffie table?" she asked, looking in her direction and catching sight of Lasca as well. Smirking to herself, she caught her fellow Claw sneaking glances at a certain table. Yes, they would have to talk later.

Mariel grinned back at Natka's enthusiasm and nodded her agreement. It had been a really long time. The third year couldn't remember the last time they talked. "Oh my summer was really good, thanks," she replied. "The first part, spending it with the family was kinda boring, but then I went to America with Lasca and some of our friends which was really amazing."

She offered Natka a grateful smile when she spoke to her of Quidditch. "I really hope so. I enjoyed that position." Which was something she would have never guessed, always playing the position of Chaser when she practiced at home. "And thanks," Mariel said, quickly glancing down at her hands in slight embarassment at the compliment. "I hope to see you in the stands." Or on the pitch, but she was pretty sure that Natka wasn't all that interested in playing.

Stifling a laugh at the first year's excitement, Mariel gave the girl a grin and nodded. "What did I tell you? It's the best." Mariel helped herself to some more chicken and started to answer Dani about classes but Lasca beat her to it. Nodding her agreement, she said, "Yep, the common room always has the current information... And we have some really great study tables too. Everyone's always willing to help out with homework and studying."

Chewing slowly, she nodded several times as she listened to the conversation between Dani and Lasca. When the topic turned to classes, she felt obliged to enter back into the conversation. "Professor Shackleton has a Basic Arithmancy class now which has made an immense difference to me. It's much easier than the one she was teaching before." Noticing that Lasca seemed leery of the subject, she added, "If you ever want to study together, let me know." She had no idea that Lasca had any trouble with that class. "Oh and flying class is so much fun!" she added to Dani. That was one of her favorites.
Seeing Lasca wave, Mariel's eyes followed the girl's vision to see who she was waving at. Oh, it was Copernicus, the nice boy she had met on the train. And he seemed kinda lonely... how was that possible? Surely given his demeanor he must have loads of friends. "Hi Copernicus," the third year called to him brightly before turning yet again to her pumpkin juice.
