"Tea please," Copernicus lifted his cup and offered it to her before taking a cookie. "I haven't read the packets yet, Professor, so I couldn't say which one would be better. What are your thoughts?" |
Mhmmm... She summoned a packet of tea and placed it into Copernicus' mug, then she filled it with the aguamenti charm and warmed the water. "There... tea..." She smiled. "I think maybe, as much as Italy is nice, the excavation sites in Egypt that the university will take you to are definitely something you need to experience." She said nodding... and she had better connections there anyway... |
"I've been offered an internship in Egypt," Copernicus wasn't sure about the whole bagged-tea concept, but it was still preferred to coffee. He took a sip and found the concoction acceptable. "So perhaps study there would further my ability to participate at that site. There aren't any... universities in the UK with good programs?" He blushed at the question. |
"Well, Master Kettleburn, an internship this summer would do you good." She said standing. "As for UK Universities," she sighed, "Bournemouth University in Bournemouth is good... Cambridge University in Cambridge... Ulster University in Coleraine and even Cardiff University in Cardiff are great UK schools... muggle... schools. Good nonetheless. Girandimond is the only Wizarding one, and although it has a good archeology department, their main concentration is wandwork and healing. In the ancient town of Karanis in Egypt's Fayum oasis the wizarding University of Karanis and the muggle UCLA are partnered to be the best school out there, and their excavation sites are fresh and new. UCLA officials believe Karanis is a muggle school, and seeing as they are on the other side of the world, they'll never know the truth. The Rovine Magiche school in Italy is also a wizarding school that partners up with a muggle university in Norway... which is ideal, except their excavation sites are not new... a lot's already been discovered." She sipped her coffee. |
"I suppose... Egypt it is," he smiled weakly at her. "I do appreciate your assistance in obtaining applications... and... recommendations?" He was hopeful. Very hopeful. "I shouldn't take up any more of your time." |

"I know, Professor, and I appreciate it," Cope cleaned out his cup and stood, offering his hand. "Should I submit my completed application to you?" |

"Thank you," Cope shook his head over this amazing bit of luck and grinned at her. "I... thank you very much, Professor. Good day!" |

Diane walked down the Hogwards grounds, or otherwise slided her way through, to ultimately arrive this destination. She had heard that person had been occupying these premises. Diane walked up to the door, and knocked on the thick surface. |

Then, when she came back, Jake couldn't help but make a face of disgust at the potion he was being made to taste. There was no doubt about it... the thing was disgusting. At first shaking his head no, Jake stopped himself when Professor Morgan mentioned the hospital wing and he immediately reached out for the phial. And stared at Professor Morgan. "It's icky," he stated, not yet drinking it. |

Without another word, she marched over to welcome her newest guest. "Good morning. Please come in," she said with a smile. |

So he'd kill the nature with it instead. But he had to take at least SOME of it, otherwise she would know he got rid of the whole thing. Jake took a large gulp of it and clamped his hands over his ears to stop the smoke shooting out. That was about half of it gone. And he didn't like it. But here he was with the vial, half filled with potion. Urgh. Glancing around him, Jake saw a potted plant that looked perfect for the job. He quickly span around and emptied the contents of the vial into it, before turning back and finding himself face-to-face with the puppy, who almost seemed to raise an eyebrow at him. Shrugging, Jake tried to ignore the sizzling sounds coming from the plant pot. |

As she heard a knock on the door, se turned around towards the door, a automatic thing really. She then turned back to Jake, just to see him put some of the potion into a plant. She giggled a little, and raised a eyebrow at him. Oh Jake. |
Walking back towards the others, Professor Morgan's eyes went straight to Jake. "Is it gone?" she asked. It seemed like all the patience was gone from her voice. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something disturbing. She reached down, picked up the dog and placed her hand on her hip. "And who can tell me why there's smoke rising from my orchids?" |

Oh dear. Jake really hadn't thought out that plan had he. As Professor Morgan spoke, Vanessa stared at the smoking Orchids. Poor Pretty Plants. She glanced back at Jake, wondering whether he was going to tell the teacher what he'd done. If not she'd have to right? She was a prefect after all. "Erm..." Oh Jake at spoke something. That was good. |
"All of it?" she asked, sounding aggravated. She had a feeling she already knew what had happened to her plant. "Well Jake, I'm waiting." |

"I took half of it and poured the rest in there," Jake muttered, staring at the smoking plant out of the corner of his eye. Well, at least they now knew that pepper-up potion did not mix well with orchids. But how was Jake supposed to know they were orchids. Well... if they died, he'd just have to make up for it... or buy more. |

She lowered her hand posed for knocking, and regarded the person - or now maybe better say people - before her with a curious expression. "I'm sorry, I seem to be mistaken. I was told the Ancient Runes professor had new accomodations in here. My mistake," she said the last as she turned to leave. |
Vanessa twisted a strand of her hair around her finger nervously as she listened to the short conversation that was happening between Jake and Professor Morgan. She really hoped that the teacher wouldn't take any points of Jake. Not when they weren't in last place anymore. She was also hoping that Professor Morgan's pretty flowers weren't ruined. That would be horrible. Naughty Jake tipping his pepper up potion in there. |

But all he knew was that he was off the hook. Like a fish... a fish set free... ... into a net. "Wh... what?" Jake mumbled, his voice trembling as he stared with wide eyes up to the professor... staring at the plant she was now chucking away. "But... I... you..." he whispered, watching as she threw it in the bin, feeling his bottom lip start to go. The fact that he had given her something and she was throwing it away, for once meant nothing to him. It was the sad look... and the way she spoke to him like the kids at his old school did. Taking great heaving breaths, Jake tried to steady his thoughts... but it was no use... the room was spinning, one of the few people he cared about thought he hated them. Feeling dizzy as she mentioned her empty desk, Jake let out a strangled cry and tried to breathe in, having difficulty. "I sorry... I sorry!" he cried out, falling forwards out of the chair and onto his knees, tugging his hair with frustration. Ahead of him was that safe... safe haven. The space under the desk. Heaving great sobs, Jake struggled forwards to get in there, not really getting anywhere in his franticness. Jeez, kid... it's just a plant. NO! Not just a plant... it's... A plant... It's all I've got... It's all you think you've got. I lost her... she hates me... She? Wha... ohhhh... we're getting into metaphors now, right? Shut up, brain. Rightio. |

SPOILER!!: longzoepost Oh. What was Jake doing? She was a little alarmed to see him suddenly him on the floor. And was he sobbing? She frowned a little. "Jake?" Vanessa spoke quietly, still looking at him. She then looked at Professor Morgan, before moving to where Jake had tried to get too "Jake..." She knelt down next to him, not really knowing what to say to him. "Erm...." She shrugged, looking up at Professor Morgan. Help? |
