Come up to the door of Professor Dumont’s office and knock, the professor is usually in and is happy to talk to you about whatever you may have in mind, especially if it involves muggle studies.

As you walk through the door of Professor Dumont’s office, you are struck by the fact that at least part of this room appears not to be that magical at all, but looking rather like an office you might see on muggle television (had you ever had the chance to see muggle television, that is!) The main feature of the room is a very large wood desk with a nice comfortable chair behind it, a purple, cushiony chair. There are a couple chairs in front of the desk, which appears as though it may be oak, both these chairs are a dark green velvet, padded, and appear very comfortable as well. The rug on the floor is a forest green color, imprinted with a variety of flowers in many different colors, it is very relaxing and lovely, one of the prettiest rugs you could ever find. Professor Dumont inherited this rug from his family, it is an heirloom.

On the right hand wall you notice many photos calling to mind muggle entertainers. There are photos of various muggle rock bands from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (it turns out that Professor Dumont loves this type of music). There are pictures of Elvis Presley as well, along with such muggle icons as Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and many others.

On.the wall immediately behind the desk are some photos that are obviously personal. There are pictures of a very old castle with high pirouetting towers, this is Castle Dumont, Antonio’s family home. You gather that it is located somewhere in France, and you would be correct. You will also find many of the pictures that move and talk, wizarding pictures, there is a man and a woman in their 50’s, Professor Dumont’s parents. There is a new picture added this year, one which has a special place right over the Professor's desk. This picture is of a very pretty little girl, no more than 2 years old, with curly dark hair and a somewhat familiar look about her. You would be guessing correctly if you guessed that this is a picture of Professor Dumont's daughter, Antonia Michelle, who he has just become reunited with during the term break. But that's a whole other story, one you may or may not be lucky enough to hear (probably not!)

Along the left wall there is a long table which goes the length of the room. On this table are many muggle items to look at and perhaps even play with, including computers, video monitors that might even pick up muggle television (who knows?), video game systems, cell phones, iPods, skateboards, yoyos, Playdough, Legos, various board games, and a huge variety of books on all subjects. Your eyes fall on this table longingly, perhaps you might have the chance to play with some of these items yourself if you are very good some time, you never know!

Why hadn't Legend and Mat come with her? Honestly, she was going to meet their Head of House, not hers. Katie shook her head, lifting her gaze from the stone corridor floor, noticing the hall was empty except for her. It sounded like it too, which was sort of a good thing. Maybe it was better she was meeting the Muggle Studies Professor and Gryffindor Head of House by herself without the boys tagging along. They would probably cause trouble - especially if Cy came, the troublesome trio would definitely wreck the visit and probably go as far to get them all introuble. Including her. And that, that would not fly.

Yes, maybe they can come next time.. on leashes. The tiny little first year thought to herself, a slow smile spreading cross her face as she neared the door to the Professor's office, and still no one was around to ruin her meeting what she thought would become one of her favorite Professors. The words 'Muggle Studies' already reminded her of home, and of her old school, maybe it would really help her not feel so homesick.

Raising a curled up hand to the smooth, hard surface of the door, Katie knocked lightly.

Gabriella entered the empty first floor corridor carrying her broken calendar close to her chest. Her father hadn't been able to repair it so her head of house was her next stop. If he couldn't help her then Ella didn't know what she was going to do. The calendar even though it was a bit of a pain at times always helped her to be in control of things.

If she couldn't get the calendar fixed then what was she going to tell her grandmother? Where would she even begin? No, that couldn't happen.. There was no way that Ella could go through the pain of seeing her grandmothers dissapointment in her for breaking such a precious gift. Shaking her head the little blond walked onwards in the quiet corridor only hearing the sound of her own footsteps as there were no other sounds.

Coming up to the door Gabriella raised her left hand knocked on the door a few times before waiting for a response.

He had added a suggestion box for the students to offer their ideas, as he always appreciated their insight and after all, they were the ones who best knew what they truly would like to learn on the subject of muggle studies.

He heard one knock, and then another one. Standing up to answer the door he greeted two girls who were standing there. "Come in, both of you," he gestured the girls into his office. "I'm Antonio Dumont, Muggle Studies professor. Come in and let me know what I can do for the two of you." One of the girls was a Gryffindor, he noted, and the other a Hufflepuff.

Ruby walked slowly to Professor Dumont's door she was still not herself in apperance's and needed to talk to the Professor about what had happened in her bedroom.

As she got nearer the door she had a flash back to last year with Sakura outside this door and she felt her eyes sting, but she did not cry Ruby Malfoy had done a lot over the summer and harden was one of them.

She lifted her fist and knocked three times on the door and stood waiting to speak to the Professor, she just wanted someone who understood how she felt to talk to.

Antonio heard yet another knock on the door and got up to answer it. He recognized the girl who was standing there instantly, it was Ruby. Immediately memories started coming back of the things that had happened last year, memories of Jack and John. It was something he was going to have to face sooner or later, and he was sure that Ruby had come to talk to him about that, too. "Hello, Ruby," he said. "Please come in."

Sarah walked upto the door and knocked on it, she had a pen and a paper ready, she was sure that the Professor was holding something back and she wanted to make sure he was okay. She was sure he had lost someone very close to him. She put the pen and the paper in her pocket incase there were loads of people who where there already. She waited for the Professor to open the door.

Following her head of house into his office she said to him "Pleasure to meet you, Professor Dumont. I'm Gabriella Holden, first year lion." Looking down at her very damaged and cracked calendar she pondered for a moment and then said looking up "Um, Professor Dumont are you any good with fixing broken objects that are both muggle and magical?"

Daniel walked towards the Office of Professor Antonio Dumont. He had been rooting to talk to him about the experience he had and the questions bugging his thoughts since summer. He was never familiar with muggle festivities and he hopes that Professor Dumont can help him.

He knocks on the door and waited for it to be answered.

Barry walked up to the door of the office and knocked. Professer Antonio deserved a visit, Barry hadn`t seen him scince the funeral and it would be nice to know how he was doing.

Oh! Another girl that looked about her age was here to see the Professor too. The girl was a Gryffindor, obviously not Kayla but maybe she knew Kayla. Shrugging to herself, Katie waved a silent hello to her and turned as the door opened to reveal the Muggle Studies Professor who ushered them inside and introduced himself to them, surely he must be aware they were both new to Hogwarts. Or atleast Katie thought the other girl was.

"Oooh, Antonio! That's italian, isn't it?" The little girl asked rather excitedly, smiling politely up at the nice older man. Following after the Professor, Katie found herself gazing around the room while she walked slowly, not wanting to accidentally run into anyone or anything while she took in the normal feel and look of the office. The pictures, some of which moved and others that didn't, and toys and OLD muggle music! "Woooow" She breathed, shifting her attention back to the purpose of her being here, just noticing several other students had joined them.

Maybe this wasn't the best time after all, but then again when would be? Shrugging to herself, Katie focused on the Professor once more. "Nice to meet you, Professor Dumont, sir. I don't need anything, I just wanted to meet you properly before classes begin." She said sweetly, absentmindedly playing with a loose string on the hem of her sleeve as she spoke. "Oh! Wait, can I ask what we're going to learn about?" Or was that against some unspoken rules? Oh dear, Katie didn't know. But she wanted to know.

After a moment of being silent, the small girl realized she hadn't introduced herself to the Professor. Her tanned cheeks took on a very faint blush, hardly noticeable at all. "I'm Kaitlynnh Mae, but my friends just call me Katie. So you can too," Katie nodded.

The office was growing busy already. Antonio answered the door and found another girl he didn't recognize, but she apparently wanted to know when the first muggle studies lesson would be. "Hi," he said. "I will post the first lesson up soon. It will probably start some time next week. Come in if you like." THere were always a lot of people around his office, one more wouldn't hurt.

"Hi, Gabriella, nice to meet you," Antonio said. "Well, let me take a look at that and I'll see what I can do." Antonio could tell that the object, a calendar, was very important to Gabriella. "Reparo," he said, drawing his wand over the object. The crack began to disappear. "There, that ought to do it," he said. It was hard to tell that the object had ever been damaged.

Another familiar face from last summer, Barry, was outside the door. It was probably best this way, best for all concerned that Antonio face what had happened. It was best for all of them. "Come on in, Barry," he said.

"Katie, that's a very nice name," Antonio said. "And yes, the name is Italian. My family is one quarter Italian, one quarter French and one quarter English, you see. My mother's side was English, but my father's side was Italian and French. I rather like the exoticness of it all," he said. His name did sound a bit fancier than Smith or Jones, it was true. He saw that Katie was interested in some of the items he had inside the room. "Feel free to have a look at some of this stuff," he invited. "I don't mind and that's kind of why I have it here, anyway, so the students can enjoy it." Antonio had never minded the students handling his toys and such, it showed they were interested in these things and that was good.

Daniel entered the comfy office, which is now packed with students. He then looked into the Professor and said, "professor, may I?" he said before proceeding. He don't want to step into someone's foot that's why he is like that. "I have wanted to ask you about Muggle royalties, sir." he wanted to know more about what he is bringing himself into. After his father's death, he is the heir of their huge fortune and a muggle responsibility.

Natasha walked down the corridor, towards Professor Dumont's office. She glanced around with a curious smile, before knocking lightly on the door. She flicked her hair behind her back while she waited happily.

"Ruby, you could never disturb me," Antonio said. He was just glad to see that Ruby was still here. "How are you doing?", he asked softly. She and Sakura had suffered the most of any of them, it was they whose loss was amongst the biggest, besides Liam, of course, and they were both so young. He knew that things would get easier in time, but the wound would never heal completely. Part of John would always be with Ruby, and nothing could ever change that.

Ruby stood there and replied "thank you Professor," she pulled her hood up from her cloak, it was something she had done since the funural "erm....not so good Professor.....John came to my house as a ghost over the summer, and Sakura is in L.A, i feel so alone sir" she was playing with her fingers and her pendant John had given her..

Although she had said he could call her Katie, instead of her full name, the little first year was almost surprised when he did call her Katie. A good surprise, of course; in her childish mind she wasn't sure whether or not a Professor would be strictly professional and all that goop. Eitherway it was definitely better than being called 'Miss Mae.', Katie was pleased. "Thank you." She murmured, politely.

Italian and french and english, but his name was italian. Katie was enjoying this visit already, figuring out she had a tiny bit in common with someone would would more than likely and she hoped, would be around the school as long as she would. "I like it too! My mamma's side of the family has italian and english too, and I've heard your name before. A boy in my old class had the same one, which isn't surprising.. we live in Italy," rambled on the tiny brunette, in some sense explaining why she was rather fascinated with his first name.

She could look around at the muggle-y stuff? Giving a slight nod of her head, to show she was listening and had heard the Professor, Katie turned her gaze to him once more with a small smile. "Your office is very.. homey, sort of. It reminds me of home, I mean. Muggle toys and stuff everywhere, I'm going to like your classes." Whether she was more so talking to herself towards the end or not, it was uncertain. She trailed off, pushing home out of her mind for the moment, trailing her finger tips over the wheel of an upturned skateboard on the table. Legend would never let her live down he could skateboard and she couldn't, yet, anyway. That she had fallen flat on her bottom that one time.

"Professor Dumont?" Katie asked, turning to focus on his direction. "I asked my older sister that went here what you taught last year, will we be learning about the same stuff or something new?"

Daniel shook his head. He wanted something deeper than that. "You see, I came from a royal blood. My great, great grandfather, denounced his throne when he was accepted as a wizard in Durmstrang. My grandfather regained that royalty title when his cousin died from a terrible accident and left no one as his heir. My father, was part-auror and part muggle royalty never let me in unto affairs of the muggle when I am young." Daniel gasped at this point. "But he sure, tells me stories that I think then was all just a joke. When he died I, I was forced to gain the title vis-count in place of my father. I am forced to take affairs with the muggles, but my father's bestfriend, and a muggle born wizard is helping me with things. I am even living in two homes, one where all is magical and the other is for the muggles." Daniel looked at the Professor's face. Italian and french and english, but his name was italian. She could look around at the muggle-y stuff? Giving a slight nod of her head, to show she was listening and had heard the Professor, Katie turned her gaze to him once more with a small smile. "Your office is very.. homey, sort of. It reminds me of home, I mean. Muggle toys and stuff everywhere, I'm going to like your classes." Whether she was more so talking to herself towards the end or not, it was uncertain. She trailed off, pushing home out of her mind for the moment, trailing her finger tips over the wheel of an upturned skateboard on the table. Legend would never let her live down he could skateboard and she couldn't, yet, anyway. That she had fallen flat on her bottom that one time.

"Professor Dumont?" Katie asked, turning to focus on his direction. "I asked my older sister that went here what you taught last year, will we be learning about the same stuff or something new?"

"Well, I'm glad you like it here, Katie," Antonio said. "And we are going to be studying different subjects this year. I try and keep different lessons for each class I teach, so that I don't repeat the same one. It gets more interesting that way. Antonio wondered how on earth he was going to top the finals he gave last year, but he would try and figure out something. He would keep things interesting, at any rate. "That's interesting, you have the Italian and English ancestry, too," he said. He actually did find that very noteworthy.

"Well, I would suggest you learn all the customs about the country you are royalty of, so that you fit in. Especially try and learn what would be proper etiquette for someone who is in that position. Does that make sense? The best way to find out the duties and customs is simply to research," Antonio answered.
