Default Prefect's Bathroom

Quote:
You walk along the Hallway and the Moving Staircases, you see a large portrait that you don't quite recall being there before. The portrait is an enchanted image of people talking and lounging about in a room full of comfortable furniture.

Upon close examination, it would appear that the portrait seems to be hiding a secret of some sort amidst the painted laughter and smiles. But this castle is full of secrets to begin with and full of secrets that really aren't secrets at all, so it's easy to dismiss this portrait as something odd, but nothing more.

Or is there more to this portrait than meets the eye?

In truth, this portrait serves as the doorway to the Prefects' Lounge and is accessible only to the Prefects of each House. The portrait and the people in it will never divulge its secret, though will relay messages to those inside - if there's anyone inside - in the event of an emergency.

I knew someone would ask me, but not this directly! "He, um, well, uh, how do I say it?" He paused for two full minutes while figuring out how to exactly say it without saying it. But then Vindictus was saved by Paris. "Towel? What's wrong with your towel? Ladies, please help her!" 'Cause I'm not performing CPR!

'Help'. She never knew that that word will be said by Paris, not after all the times she mentioned she was fine.

Quill and parchment were now officially on the floor. Perhaps Willow was going to help Paris, right? Ummm, Kaika better answer her call.

Her eyes scanned the bathroom for...yes! The robes! There were Slytherin robes not too far away, which is why Kaika ran towards the robes and...gave them to Paris? "Here, you can...place them on top of the towel..while...well..." while she gets a chance to change properly, or the chance to remove the towel, or something...

Wowza!

Seriously, what one earth was wrong with Greenwood? Frowning, she set her eyes on her. "Towel?" What was that supposed to mean? She was not seer, for crying out loud! There was a reason why she'd chosen to drop Divination once and for all.

"I don't know?" There was a reason why she'd asked him for Headmaster Bontecou. Maybe you should start with the beginning, sir, Willow was about to say, but then Vindictus was requiring her help.

Well, not HERS. He wanted the help of the females in the room. "How am I supposed to help her if I don't know what's going on?" She looked at Kaika, and then Paris. "Greenwood, what is wrong with you and your towel?" The fact that she was going to help her, didn't necessarily mean Willow had to be nice.

She tried to pull at the towel, but her fingers were numb. "Won't come," tug, pant, breathe. "off," she explained best she could.

Couldn't they see the towel was trying to strangle her? Her arms and face were starting to turn pull and she couldn't feel anything in her arms and hands. Her eyes were watering and it was becoming hard to blink, and the weight of her Slytherin robes on her almost drove her fast first into the floor.

She didn't want Willow's help. She would rather let her towel chock the life out of her body than to have that girl help her do anything. She wouldn't even want Willow to think about the word water if Paris was on fire. She ignored her question and in fact ignored her.

"What?" Kaika's eyes widened. How on earth is a towel not coming off?! Was that even possible?!

Her head turned towards Vindictus, and then back at the girl, and then Vindictus, and then Paris again. What to do, what to do? The towel couldn't possibly be acting in such a way unless someone placed a spell on it. But who would place a spell on a towel?!

This was...weird. And...awkward. "I hope you don't mind me...trying" it was a good thing the girl had her robes on. Though, everyone should close their eyes, just in case, no?

And Kaika pulled as hard as she could...maybe the towel could loosen up a bit? Should she try a spell instead?

Of course, the girl had her eyes closed, there was no way in telling if she managed to get the towel off Paris or not. But she didn't feel like she was pulling anything anymore, even if she felt the towel in her hands. Maybe...it was just a piece of it that came off...she didn't want to open her eyes. "Is it...off, Paris?" she asked.

Wowza!

So Greenwood was ignoring her.

The very idiot wanted to die strangled by her towel, obviously.

If Professor Vindictus had not been there, Willow would have left her to her faith seeing that she did not want her help at all, but he was, and she was not about to let her flying professor down.

Ugh. "The towel is clearly . . . well, it looks as though it is strangling her. Except it is not around her neck." How strange. "You should consider using Relashio, Lock-Kaika." Because she was not getting anywhere near Greenwood. What if whatever it was that the Slytherin had was contagious? She did not want to get sick. "It ought work, as it is used when one wants to release something that is being gripped by another object." Still very comfortable on her couch, she shrugged.

If they didn't want to listen to her, that was their problem.

Shrugging, because it was simple enough and told a lot, he chewed lightly on his lower lip. "Alright. And yourself?"

She did have something ask, however.

"Oh, Dominic, I've been meaning to ask you" Started Willow, using his name once again, a little innocent smile dancing on her lips as she spoke, "Have you seen Eleanor? I've been looking for her, but I'm afraid I've not been able to get a hold of her. So I was wondering if you had, since you seemed to be quite taken by her in Diagon Alley."
Perhaps he should have left when he had the chance. Prying his eyes off his co-prefect, who he never fully realized how short she was, though knew she was small, Dominic flicked his focus instead on dark chocolate hair and lightly tanned skin.

Even though he was still slightly mad at her for dancing with the shopkeeper, he couldn't help but realize her beauty. Except that it was her voice - taunting almost - that broke his reverie and caused a flicker of innocent smile to play across his lips.

WHAT!?! Eleanor?! Who was that!? That was when it struck him the thing that he had forgotten that must have made Willow upset enough with him to call him by his last name. Frown quickly overtook his expression as he shook his head, staring disbelievingly at the Ravenclaw. Did she honestly think he had a thing for her best friend?

"Uh... No..." Swallow. "I haven't seen her since Diagon Alley. But well, how's your fling with the shopkeeper there working out? You two seemed to be quite adorable." Barf.

Who the Gryffindor Captain is? Kaika laughed, because it was just too funny to see Dominic uninformed. Maybe funny for her, because as a Quidditch Captain one must know who takes on such a responsibility. "The other Paris" she said, NOT looking at Dominic, and why was she now not looking at him? Because her cheeks didn't need to turn pink again.

Not that it could help, because as soon as he spoke to her, she looked up. How annoying this boy was. Annoying and...well, yes, annoying. Period. 'Captain'. "No surprise, you never listen", but 'Captain' was a thousand times better than 'Lockhart'. Truth be told, he never listens, not in Quidditch, that is.

He was...agreeing with her? Kaika's eyes narrowed, what was he up to? True. Paris should try and relax somehow, because Dominic was not leaving too soon. Apparently.

When was the last time he agreed on something? That sounded like the first term he came to Hogwarts, right? Like two terms ago? Yes, maybe.

And, then. 'Willow'. That entitled more meanings than anything. Sigh.
But his own retort to Willow had been broken by the voice of his captain, who kindly educated him on the name of the Gryffindor Captain. Wait... What!? Surely the girl must have heard him wrong. Both the Gryffindor AND the Slytherin Captain could not have been named Paris, because that would have been just too much ego on the pitch. Besides... Ugh, that meant, four females would be captains.

Dear Merlin. Help him.

Distracted by this new 'knowledge' of all captains being females, he completely missed her saying that he never listened. Ironic, huh?

"Oh er, hi everyone," the fifth year said meekly, willing her cheeks to stay their normal shade but no, why would they ever listen to her? She felt her face grow hot and wanted nothing more than the ground to swallow her up whole as the image of what she knew she looked like floated into her head. Great... Just great.
And help was what he would need, as the door creaked opened yet again... This time, entering the female Ravenclaw Prefect, Rachel. Where were all the males allowed in here? Had he somehow come upon the Girl's Bathroom, by mistake? No mistake, he was certain though that he was on the fifth floor and muttered a password to get in here.

"Hello Rachel," the sixth year said back, distractedly, hardly noticing her politeness. Because really it was something that was always present in Rachel, so nothing really 'new'.

Something must have happened during the summer, or not happened, whichever suited this pair, given the constant looks Willow was giving Dominic when asked about her summer.
Huh? What was that Kaika had been talking to Willow about? Hey wait a minute! When did Kaika and Willow become like best buds anyway? Dominic was sure that Willow had something against Hufflepuff Captains...

And was it just him or was Kaika looking at him when she mentioned some Opaleye breed of Dragon? Weird. Especially the looks she seemed to be tossing between him and Willow... As if she was expecting them to be closer or whatever? But why should he be? It wasn't like he received communication from her and she seemed quite content in the arms of the shopkeeper anyway.

The towel seemed to be tightening around her chest. "I wouldn't care about you being in here if I was lounging but as you can plainly see I am in my birthday suit trying to take a bath." She breathed. The towel clenched tighter and she couldn't take it anymore. She tried to loosen it and it wouldn't budge.

It was getting painful. "Stop it," she glared at Dominic he was doing this trying to be funny. The towel tightened again and she couldn't breath. "You're," she breathed. "Doing," breathe. "This." she tried to glare at him, but the lack of oxygen was making her lightheaded. She dropped down to her knees and held on to the bench she had been standing beside trying to catch her breath. The towel was cutting into her skin.
Regardless though, there were more pressing matters it seemed than just a simple matter of no communication between himself and the Ravenclaw Captain over the summer. Paris had managed to mutter thank you about the captaincy, but then that glare she was giving him... Like he had done something remotely wrong, when really all he did was enter a room that he was perfectly entitled to be in.

What?! She was blaming him now for her unable to breath because she wrapped a towel too tight around herself!? Oh Canaries! He didn't give a damn though what she was wearing, which was the ironic thing.

"Uh..." Wait, what? What was he supposed to do?

Listening to his conversation with his two captains who still seemed be capable of speak, Dominic bit his lip when Kaika mentioned about transfiguration homework. An assignment he had not yet even thought about yet. Whoops! Clearly he was not in here for the same purpose as his captain, nor the Ravenclaw one.

Vindictus now walked over to Paris and Dominic. "Paris. Breathe. Dominic. Apologize and help me look in the cupboards for the Headmaster."
Apologize? For what!? And wait... What was the latter part of looking in the cupboards for the Headmaster? Staring at the Quidditch professor for a moment, like he'd lost his mind (which was perhaps likely), Dominic sighed resignedly.

If he didn't apologize, then Vindictus would probably dock a load of points. Something he didn't care to lose. But if he did, then it would really be an unnecessary blow to his pride, because he was totally innocent. How to explain that to Vindictus though?

"I... Professor," he started weakly, the words barely audible through his suddenly dry throat. Swallowing to gain some moisture, he cleared his throat twice and then looked at Paris who seemed to be in need of serious help. "Um, well, please forgive me for intruding upon your bathtime." There... Close enough to an apology anyway.

"Now, Professor Vindictus, do explain to me why we're looking for the Headmaster in a cupboard?" Dom asked, turning back towards the Quidditch professor.

But Kaika smiled, was Professor V dismissing Dominic into another place? Oh, goody! This was just brilliant. Now, Dominic had to leave, no?
Wait... What? Kaika agreed that he was the main reason of Paris' outburst?! After Willow had attempted to defend him! Well this was hardly fair... And now he had to go help Vindictus search for the headmaster in some cupboard...

If she hadn't been trying to stay alive she would have rolled her eyes at the huffie capitan trying to help her with her eyes closed. Victoria's secret wasn't that big. But she tugged on the towel and it wouldn't budge. She sucked in the last bit of air she had. "Still," pant. "stuck," she wanted to shake her to get her to open her eyes and cut her out of this killer towel, but she didn't have the strength.

Well wonder's never cease. He actually apologized to her. Paris wouldn't have caved. She would have rather served a detention than apologize to Dominic for anything. She gave him a weak smile and a dip of her head. She may not like him, but she wasn't Willow after all and sometimes you could be nice. She couldn't tell him thank you.

Well, Dominic was completely useless at the moment. Or perhaps useless in this situation. He should completely leave the Bathroom, but there he stood, all statue-like. And everything people said turned out to be quite shocking to him.

Oh, he was listening, now?

Look at that! Willow and Dominic should head outside to discuss whatever it was they didn't get a chance to discuss. That's what Kaika thought. But that made her happy somehow, which is why there was a smile on her face. Whatever issue those two had, must not be said out loud now. Nope.

And. Eek!. What?! Relashio? Yes, that could work. Maybe. Hopefully. And what's with Myrtle quietness all of the sudden? Was she still around?

Eyes from Dominic to Willow. "Yeah, thank you, Willow" she said, the nice tone back , "I'll try that" once she finds her wand...ooooh...found it!

Need to mention that Kaika was not-so-good at casting some spells? Better not! "Relashio!" she said, and pointed her wand at Paris' towel, well, the only towel around. And...now, they waited to see if the spell worked.

'How are you?'. Kaika couldn't help but chuckle at this question. How was she? Well, on the edge of a breakdown, perhaps? Wanting to run away screaming from the Bathroom? Having the urge to hex Dominic for something he's not even responsible of? Wanting to finish her Transfiguration homework in peace? Excited about Quidditch again? Hoping they would win this term and not Ravenclaw?

Clearly, all the answers were fair, but which one should she choose?

Simple. Because actions mean more than words. Kaika shrugged. "And you?"
Vanessa smiled at Kaika, the only one in the room whom she got along properly with. That was mainly because she really hadn't done anything to annoy Kaika. For surely if Willow knew what she had told Kaika then...she wouldn't be alive. She glanced at Dominic. He seemed not to have told her so that was very good.
"I'm alright." She nodded at Kaika. Well she was now anyway.

"Are you enjoying term so far?" She asked, mainy to keep conversation going, for term really hadn't been going that long. Surely Kaika would be...looking towards the quidditch tryouts now right? Vanessa was kind of excited about them really. Well it was her last year after all.

Shrugging, because it was simple enough and told a lot, he chewed lightly on his lower lip. "Alright. And yourself?"
Vanessa was quite glad that Dominic seemed to be keeping the civilness between them. At least now they could at least look like they were getting along. She smiled at him, ever so slightly. It was kind of important that they seemd to get along, considering they were meant to be leading hufflepuff together. But she knew that she needed to watch him.

"I'm good." She nodded, noticing that she was repeating herself. A key sign that she was talking to too many people. Ahh well. Not that more people could come right?

As two more people entered, Vanessa nodded at them, and watched silently as they attempted to get the towel off of Paris. How on earth had the towl gotten stuck in the first place? And...looking in the cupboards for the headmaster? Oh dear. This was getting odd.

He glanced around and noticed something was odd. "What did y'all do to Paris?"
Rachel took in a breath and opened her mouth to reply to Kaika when someone else joined their little gathering. The fifth year's eyes widened as she recognized the voice that belonged to the person who had just entered the Prefect's Bathroom. Professor Vindictus?! Ok, now this was getting really weird!

"Hello Professor... And erm, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with her for a few moments now, but nothing really seems to be wrong except for the fact that she's, erm, fainting?
" Rachel replied, evidently a little nonplussed by the situation the Slytherin girl was in. Unless or course the towel was doing something... But that can't be! Why on earth would a towel wish to strangle it's owner!?

She did not glare at Willow because she was the competition. She could care less who was up there in the sky when she was playing. She just hated the very air Willow breathed. "Help," she told them.
That's a very good question, Professor V. Rachel thought dryly as she continued to hover around Paris, clearly a little agitated. She held onto her wand and leaned in closer as the Slytherin Girl began saying something, maybe not to her, but she was speaking so that was good.

Seriously? We didn't know that! The sarcastic comment came unbidden to her mind as she listened to Paris' incoherent sentences. "You can't breathe? The towel?" Rachel repeated, slightly shocked that she had guessed correctly, even if it had been a little sarcastically, about the towel.

Well, by Merlin's beard, what are we supposed to do?! The towel is clearly enchanted, and as far as she was concerned, she wasn't about to start casting advanced spells at Paris that could easily bounce back and hurt others or just not come out properly and make matters worse! Oh no, she was definitely going to stay a safe distance away from this. Backing off slightly, she tried to do it as inconspicuously as she could and slowly lowered her wand so that it wouldn't cause any harm.

Pffft, yeah right! Not me, it might try to strangle me too! Rachel was torn between her own instincts that screamed at her to stay away from Paris and Vindictus' word and her conscience which both told her to at least attempt to help.

Gah! Stupid Prefect duties, annoying conscience!
A little miffed by the circumstances, she carefully re-approached the Slytherin Captain, walking reeeeeaaaaallly slowly so that someone else might have the guts to come in and do Vindictus' bidding apart from her. This is the Prefect's Bathroom after all...

Ahhh yes! Rachel couldn't help a small triumphant grin as she saw Kaika come and do something to help Paris. That means I'm off the hook! Relieved, she felt content with just standing there and watching the two girls struggle with the towel even though a little voice in the back of her mind told her that what she was doing was very wrong, and that she should try and help more. EEEP! It's not working - Paris is dying! Rachel's eyes went wide as Paris looked like she was on the very verge of fainting into oblivion. Nooo! Someone has to do something! Racking her brain for a solution, she looked up helplessly and listened to Vindictus' suggestions, and saw to her relief that Kaika had taken the advice and was now doing something.

Oh good - now we just have to wait and see... If Paris faints, it hadn't worked - if she takes a big gulp of air then faints - we're good.
Rachel fiddled nervously with the hem of her blue tie as she waited with baited breath for the results of the spell to take affect. Looking around at all the occupants of the room, she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Dominic. He was practically being blamed for all that was wrong with Paris, and Rachel thought that it was hardly fair.

There... Close enough to an apology anyway.

"Now, Professor Vindictus, do explain to me why we're looking for the Headmaster in a cupboard?" Dom asked, turning back towards the Quidditch professor.
In the cupboards? Why would the Headmaster be in the cupboards? Rachel blinked twice as she stared at the only two males in the room, wondering what on earth Vindictus could be talking about. "Professor, don't you think that if the Headmaster was present that he would have come out by now and... Er, lent a hand?" she asked, really confused now.

I mean, yeah sure Headmaster Bontecou is a little weird - and maybe has a tendancy to get lost - but really, the cupboards in the Prefect's Bathroom?! A little skeptical, she eyed Professor Vindictus with slightly narrowed eyes, Paris forgotten for the moment as she tried to work out why exactly they were searching for the Headmaster. What had he said when he had first stepped into the Bathroom? 'I told you that no one looked in here'... Hmmm, odd. Very odd.

Wowza!

This was so freaky. Because seriously, how on earth had Greenwood managed to get stuck on her own towel? Was she seriously stupid enough to have hexed her own towel or something? Apparently. Shaking her head and keeping the smirk out of her face -for Vindictus was still around, and this was a 'serious' situation and Willow was sure he would not appreciate to see her smirking at Paris Greenwood's dilemma- the sixth year turned to Denton, who was talking. Again.

And he seriously needed to stop staring at her that way. It made her feel awkward, self-conscious, vulnerable and, surprisingly, pleased. Although, the last three did manage to shadow the last one for the most part. One day, Willow would make sure some kind of law was created so that future girls would feel safe when boys stared at them that way. Because boys wouldn't do it, for if they did, they would break the law and no one wanted to go to Azkaban, right? Right.

"I beg your pardon?" That was all she said as a reply to his comment, both of her dark eyebrows in the air now. What was fling? Something told Willow that after having grown up with brothers who seemed to be TOO fond of females and after spending two sole weeks with Evolette Mckenna, she should know. But she didn-- WAIT. "If I had a fling -which I do not- with that person, I do not think it is any of your business, Dominic Denton," she shot back with her eyes narrowed at him, forgetting for a moment about the presence of Professor Vindictus. "Not to mention that I don't need to explain myself to you. You are not jealous, are you? Because you have no right to be." Granted, she didn't have any right to have gotten jealous either, but that was beside the point.

Tearing her eyes from the male Hufflepuff prefect, Willow eyed Greenwood and Lockhart. Apparently, Kaika had tried to take to take off Paris' towel my muggle means, and it had very obviously not worked. And good thing it hadn't, for if it had, Willow would have been scarred for life. . .

Shudder. And now, Kaika, was shooting glances at her and Dominic. What was her problem? "You're welcome." How could they had not thought of that? Had Paris and Kaika forgotten that they were witches, and thus, were able to do magic? Probably. Noticing the girl pointing her wand at the Slytherin, Willow quickly stood up from her seat, and turned around so she could not see. Really, the girl did value the innocence of her mind and eyes after all.

Remaining on her feet and having no desire to turn around and check if the spell had worked or whatsoever, Willow's eyes flickered to Vanessa as the dwarf-sized prefect spoke. Willow was finding it a bit hard to believe that Corbette was a seventh year. "Uhh, right." And she was staring at Dominic and then at her, too! What on earth was wrong with Hufflepuff females? They all needed help, and the should all be locked up in - Oh. Oh. Why had she been so stupid and not noticed it before? It was very obvious that Denton had told his entire house what had happened. His captain as his co-prefect would not have been staring at the two if that had not been the case.Glancing at the floor, her eyes narrowed.

It was official: Dominic Denton was an idiot.

Looking at Rachel for the girl was pretty much the only distraction right now, and the only one who wasn't acting all weird, Willow listened as the girl questioned Professor Vindictus about Headmaster Bontecou. "Rachel's got a point, professor," stated Willow with a shrug. Seriously, where was he and why did Vindictus wanted THAT boy to look for him on the cupboards?

Dominic really was contemplating leaving now, but first he must discover which is the cupboard he was meant to be searching for the Headmaster. Really though, even if he could have sworn Paris gave him a weak smile and inclined her head respectfully towards him, he did not care for seeing her once the towel was removed. Not that he would have paid attention, but he preferred to keep his eyes shielded from such pains.

Well Kaika was very brave indeed to be able to get so close to her and risk her innocence for saving Paris. The Hufflepuff Prefect severely doubted he had her kind of courage and had to give his captain some credit. Even if she was looking at him and Willow all weird like. Biting his lower lip, he wondered exactly what Paris might have done to her towel that it was strangling her as such. But good thing Willow had the sense, if not the bravery to do it herself, of suggesting a spell to counter it - if the towel was indeed cursed. Though if that didn't work, then he supposed the next option would have to be the Hospital Wing because surely the nurses there could handle a cursed towel.

"Perhaps a levitation charm to get her to the Hospital Wing, if that doesn't work," the sixth year suggested, waiting with anticipation for Kaika to try it.

But gratefully, his co-prefect spoke to him to distract him from having to watch Kaika perform the spell, and therefore risk his eyes being scarred for life. Noticing her hesitancy as well in speaking, Dominic wondered what was really bothering her but decided that now was not the time to ask. Though, why did she look at Willow after him and then back to him? Willow was not an idiot; surely she would catch on that Vanessa had spread the rumors of the kiss to his house with the way the girl was looking between the pair.

Looking over towards Rachel at hearing her speak, Dominic sighed and realized he felt slightly sorry for her. She was so nice and yet seemed to have been caught in the middle of the battlefield. And now she was torn with her willingness to help and be Prefect, but also her look was mingled with fear and unsureness. Ah yes, there was a reason Rachel was in Ravenclaw. Hearing her comment about the cupboards and about the Headmaster coming out to lend a hand, he couldn't help but give a brief nod of agreement, before something dawned on him.

"What if, the Professor can't come out though?" he countered. "If the Headmaster was really present in a cupboard then I doubt he would be there of his own will. So perhaps he was locked up in there or cursed..." It was plausible and made sense too. In his brief contacts he had with Headmaster Bontecou in years past, Dom had noticed the wizard had a tendency for being . . . absent-minded and easily distractable. If there was something in the cupboard that could distract Bontecou, then Dominic was nearly certain he would not try to find a way out even if the castle was on fire.

And then a voice broke Dominic out from his revelations regarding what could be keeping Bontecou from whatever dangers were lurking in the castle that needed his assistance. Hmm, what? She did not have a fling with the shopkeeper? But it sure looked like it. Though she was right on another account too - it was none of his business. Jealous? No! Why would he have been that? It was nothing. Right? Granted he had gotten a little jealous, but he understood now that he really shouldn't have, especially since he also understood that the shopkeeper had merely been demonstrating something to him. Meant no harm, yet he took it personally. "I..." For once, Dominic Denton was entirely speechless. Only for a moment though. "But then, you really were not jealous over Eleanor, were you? I only did that because I thought..." His words were in a low urgent whisper, forgetting completely that others were present. "... Nevermind."

Watching Willow as she had decided to not check on Paris and her towel dilemma - something he did not blame her for because he had no interest either in it - he frowned though when her green eyes seemed to flicker between himself and Vanessa. It was times like this that he wished he could read her mind, but the way her eyes narrowed, he was sure it was something about him.

"We need to talk," was all Dominic said to the Ravenclaw Captain, as if hinting they should leave the Bathroom now and head someplace more private to converse. But first he had to wait to see about this headmaster situation, and so his eyes flickered back towards Vindictus (as he remembered his presence) and waited to see why they were looking in the cupboard for the headmaster.

It was like a fat kid bursting out of a pair of pants that were 2 sizes too small. The towel fell away from her and she fell on all fours gasping for air. The sweet, bubble filled air.

Under her arms, and around her chest and back was a ugly red welt where the towel had been squeezing her tiny body. She pulled her Slytherin robes around herself slowly carrying more about breathing then someone having a gander at her in all her glory. "Thank you," she finally said looking up at Kaika. She was the only one who stepped in to save her.

EEEP! Look away, look away! Rachel shut her eyes as quickly as she could and turned away from Paris so abruptly she was surprised she hadn't gotten whiplash. Her eyes were shut so tightly, she began seeing red spots in her vision and she begged for Paris to say something, or move to cover herself so that the fifth year could reopen her eyes.

'Thank you' - Rachel heard Paris's voice and let out a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding. Ahh good! Slowly relenting the pressure her eyelids were causing, she opened her eyes and blinked several times to get rid of the bothersome colour spots in her vision.

As her vision came back to her, she caught the few glances the Ravvie Captain and the male Hufflepuff Prefect were throwing at each other as well as a few sentences here and there. Oddly enough, it looked as if they thought they were the only two in the room.

Ok, so apparently she had been spot on. If before she had gotten the feeling that she had stepped into the middle of something she wasn't supposed to know, this was proof. Willow and Dominic looked like they were seriously annoyed with each other, and by the looks of the two Hufflepuffs in there, this attitude was not something new to the pair.

Oh, wait. The pair?! Rachel's eyes widened slightly as she looked between the two sixth years, her gaze bouncing back and fro as if she was watching a fast played tennis game. No... It can't be, they're nothing alike...

Rachel blinked as she was startled out of her ponderings by the very people whom the pondering was actually about. Think about it later... ALONE - If it is true, I'm sure Willow wouldn't like there to be rumours - or maybe there already are?! Rachel thought, then forcibly shoved the thoughts to a place in her head where they wouldn't bother here. Right, now, focus on the Headmaster and his apparent new hiding place - cupboards.

The fifth year smiled gratefully at Willow, careful to keep her eyes the same size and not either wider or narrower so that the girl wouldn't suspect a thing. After all, she didn't look like one that would be happy if she knew what Rachel is thinking about... Shifting her gaze from the Captain, she turned as the sound of Dominic Denton's voice was heard and she tuned back into the conversation.

The Headmaster? Locked, cursed? As weird as it is, it does kind of sound like something he would be able to get himself into... "But if he was cursed, then why the Prefect's Bathroom? And how come we haven't heard any sort of protesting sounds or rather, any sounds at all? Do you think someone killed him?!" Rachel voiced her thoughts and her hand flew to her gaping mouth as she realised what she had just said. "Wait - if he was cursed, then do you mean someone attacked him or a student played a very inappropriate prank?" she added as an afterthought, suddenly a little suspicious. This whole business smelled very fishy.

Did it work?! Did it work?! Kaika was seriously wondering if she didn't kill the girl, after all, magic can go wrong sometimes, and such a thing runs in the family. Though, vanishing spells seem to work wonderfully well for her. Hey! Vanishing spells! How come she didn't think of that one? Hmmm, right, she didn't want to vanish the towel. That's why.

'Thank you'. And the voice was Paris'. "Oh, you're more than welcome" just promise you'll beat Willow in Quidditch and you'll be safe. "Are you alright, now, Paris?" she asked, the worry was clear in the Hufflepuff's tone, for she truly cared about others well-being.

And...this was weird. Well, not weird. But it was oh-so-obvious that Dominic and Willow needed to talk. Then he said it. 'We need to talk'. Look! Dominic is smart after all, because she was sure that a levitating charm will only be carrying a dead Paris towards the Hospital Wing. "Hey, what a great idea, you guys should totally do that...talk, away from here..." and herself, because she didn't want to listen to any of it, "...why don't you? Willow?" she said, looking at the girl, just wanting to get Dominic out of the place, "I can help Professor V in whatever odd task he placed upon that one" and then pointed at Dominic. That was probably a big mistake, considering Vindictus was still in the room, but she could play it like if her memory was failing, no?

And, Rachel seemed to be noticing the strangeness between the odd couple. Maybe she doesn't know. Then, why would she? She doubted someone may have broken into their Common Room announcing such awful news. Vanessa, however, seemed to think that it would be something nice to tell the Captain, apparently.

Oh, Vanessa! "Ummm, yes...this term...I don't know...it's too early to tell" but so far, hating it.

Vindictus stood there, watching and listening as the entire scene unfolded before him. "You lot must have been affected by Professor Kazimeriz's class last term," he smirked and tapped his head. "Curses. Puh-lease! I'm gonna go find Peeves. That pesky poltergeist might be able to tell me something." He turned and walked out of the bathroom.

She looked up at Kaika. she was really grateful to the girl for cutting her out of that murderous towel when no one else would. "I will be alright. just might need to get some ointment for this welt." She said touching it gently and wincing at the pain.

She was highly embarrassed that Professor Vindictus had seen her naked. She wouldn't be able to face him without blushing now. That was just great he would think she had a crush on him or something. This was going to be a great Quiddtch season now.

Wowza!

Awkward was perhaps not the word to describe the situation, but it was sure close enough. There she was, standing in the middle of the prefects bathroom, having a little argument with Dominic Denton in front of everyone. In front of a PROFESSOR. And not just any professor, but in front of Professor Vindictus, Quidditch official, head of the Ravenclaw house.

Embarrassing.

"Yes, we do." Giving him one level look, she turned to look at Rachel - Rachel who was staring at her and Dominic. Great. Last thing she wanted was to have Rachel think and came to conclusions that would be completely off from the reality . . . Oh, crap. She should have left the bathroom the second she saw Dominic Denton on it.

Noticing the looks that Kaika was her and Dominic, Willow decided that it was time for her to follow Professor Vindictus' example and leave the bathroom, too.

"Well, I'm going to go, too." Taking one deep breath, and tucking her dark hair behind her ears as she did so. "I will see you all later." Offering Rachel a little friendly and somehow apologetic smile, and giving Dominic Denton a meaningful look, the girl headed for the door.

One thing first, though. "Oh, and Greenwood? You are welcome." It was because of the spell she'd suggested that she was not lying on the floor dead. But whatever. The sixth year Ravenclaw captain didn't want or needed the gratitude of that Slytherin brat who obviously thought a little TOO highly of herself.

Giving Paris a look full of disdain that was quickly followed by a smirk, Willow opened the door and exited the bathroom.

Pain or no pain Willow Kovac was not going to throw Paris off her game.

EVER.

Diva she was born and Diva she would die. Willow was a pretty girl when her face wasn't scrunched up trying to give people the evil eye. But if she wanted to look like a troll just to TRY and scare someone she could go right ahead. Paris could care less what that jumped up little claw with a bat thought of her. In the grand scheme of things Paris would leave Hogwarts and go on to see herself go down in history and Willow would go on to serve muggle high school kids their lunches.

Yep, she needed to be taken down a peg.

Paris popped her hip and placed her hand on it and gave Willow a little wave. She smirked back her.

Kazimeriz's last lesson... Now which lesson was that? Rachel racked her brain as she attempted to remember when Professor Vindictus answered for her. Blinking, she watched him blow off their theories and leave the bathroom, in search for-- Wait. PEEVES? Is he out of his mind?! No one goes LOOKING for that thing unless they have a death wish and as far as she knew, Professor V. did not plan on giving up his spot as Quidditch official anytime soon.

Something's still fishy here... she thought to herself as she turned away from the door and back to the students present. She couldn't help but notice that she was the second youngest person in the room. Hmm... Not fun. I hate being the youngest - at least Paris is a fourth year! She looked between the three sixth years, eyes lingering on the 'pair' she had noticed before just a second longer before making her way back to her book.

Yeah well, in this situation I didn't really expect you to linger much longer, Rachel answered Willow in her head, but only nodded as the sixth year announced her departure. "See you, Willow," she said to the girl just as she stood up, and caught the apologetic look sent her way.

Yep, now I definitely know something's up. Why would Willow feel the need to smile apologetically at me unless something happened here that I wasn't supposed to know about? Rachel's eyebrows rose the teensiest bit at the Captain's retreating figure, and her eyes flicked over to Dominic as he too received a look - though somehow she doubted it was the same look she had been granted.

Later, later... Remember Narnia!
Shaking her head, she surveyed the room one last time to make sure nothing was happening that demanded her attention, she grinned to herself and picked up the huge . Opening it to the right page, she took a deep breath and plunged headfirst into the story, almost instantly forgetting where she was.

Well this was a little awkward now. The pint-sized Prefect sighed, brushing her fingers through her hair, and watching on as Paris struggled to get out of the towel. Well. If she hadn't been standing in a towel in the first place, and then she wouldn't be stuck in it would she.
As Kaika tried a spell to attempt to get the towel off of Paris, Vanessa looked away, politely of course, because she didn't really think she wanted to see that, and Paris probably didn't want them all to see. Vannie smiled in relief seeing that Paris was no de-towel. At least she was okay now. "Do you wanna go to the hospital wing Paris?" She asked, concerned. Maybe the nurse would be able to give her some ointment for the welt.

Vanessa turned as the Professor left the bathroom, well at least there was less people in here now, so maybe it would get less awkward too.
Oh...and Dominic wanted to talk to Willow? Vanessa eyed them both. Well wasn't that odd. "Bye Willow." Vanessa spoke quietly as the girl left. Well at least with Dominic and Willow gone there'd only be four of them.

Dominic was really grateful that he had been distracted enough to not notice when the Slytherin's towel was released from her body. He doubted very much that the captain would appreciate him catching a glimpse of her and that was something HE did not fancy seeing either. Hearing her murmur a thank you though - to Kaika no doubt - Dominic knew that it was over and she was dressed.

Frowning as he felt the eyes of the Ravenclaw Prefect on him, Dominic knew it was time to leave. Especially before she suspected anything that was NOT going on. And from her expression though, it almost looked like it was too late. Greeaattttttt! That was of course the last thing he needed was for false rumors being spread about him and the Ravenclaw Captain who was annoyed with him.

But Rachel was not the only one who was giving himself and Kovac looks. Kaika had decided to take it upon herself - once the towel was removed - to watch them too, with eager interest it seemed as well. Yes, it was definitely time to follow Vindictus' footprints and leave before anyone said anything. Urrhhh!! What was that!?! Exhaling sharply at Kaika's words, agreeing with him on the talking thing to Willow, he bit his lower lip as his gaze fell upon the green-eyed captain to see what she had to say about that. Of course Kaika would want them talking away from here; but really, he didn't want to talk in front of her anyway. It was all Vanessa's fault that she even had some clue over the situation.

Ah, so Willow knew they needed to talk too. But the broom cupboard was probably a bad idea since they did it once before there and it tended to create feelings, making it difficult to concentrate. Good!! She was leaving too, which meant they didn't have to talk now but just sometime in the future . . . when the time was right. Soon, hopefully.

Returning her look with a matched gaze, he had to find it slightly amusing with her final response before leaving the room to Paris... Because really, Paris should have thanked her too, since even if she didn't use the spell, it was still her suggestion.

"Right... Um, I think I'm going to head out too and find something to vanish for transfiguration..." the sixth year commented to no one really in particular. Giving a meaningful look of goodbye to each remaining witch in the room, he then cast a brief apologetic look towards Paris too for interrupting her bath. And with that, he left the bathroom.

Paris looked at the Hufflepuff prefect which and her smile. She never realized how short the girl was. She was like only a few inches taller than Paris. But her smile quickly vanished as the girl asked if she wanted to go to the hospital wing. "I wouldn't want to go to the hospital wing if I were on fire and about to die." she told her firmly. She wold rather have a tea party with Willow, Denton, Tobi and Professor Truebridge than go ask that intern nurse for any help. "I will brew something up for this welt, but thank you though." She didn't want to the prefect to think she was upset with her or trying to be mean, she wasn't.

Well her bath was ruined and she sure wasn't messing with that towel ever again. She would have to modify that charm she put on it. It was a bit strong. She blinked at Dominic at the look he gave her. What was this? Was he actually acting like a decent human being to her and not a big prat? She nodded back. Well if he could put in the effort to be decent she could too. She didn't have anything really to dislike Dominic about other than the way he treated people. "Goodbye," she told him without the usual sneer she reserved when talking to him.

Aha! So, yeah, go on, go on, leave.

She nodded as Paris said she'll be fine and was going to take care of herself. Yay! Alright. But Vannie did have a point, it was easier and faster just to head down to the Hospital Wing and receive the attention of the Nurse. Just in time when Kaika was going to step in and say that Vannie was probably right, Paris said something that was clearly an objection to step in in such a place.

Well, whatever. She knows herself better than the rest, no?

Thank you, Merlin! Willow was now leaving, "Bye, Willow" she managed to say before the Ravenclaw Captain was no longer inside the Bathroom, and, well, look at that, Dominic was leaving as well.

Yes, he had to, no? Because there was no point in staying when he clearly wasn't wanted, right? Smart boy that one.

But she didn't even waved goodbye, what for? Instead, Kaika walked over to where her somehow wet parchment and quill were (in the floor) and sighed. There was still homework to be done, or finished, which was totally different.

Her eyes where now lingering on Vanessa, because the other Prefect was some other place away from reality. "Hey, did you know we have a new DADA Professor now?" she said, because such a thing became a shock to the Captain.
