Potions Class 2: Think Fast! (Ingredients and Process)
The room remains mostly unchanged from your previous class. Although still housed in the former ancient runes classroom, the potions classroom still manages to retain its musty, creepy, dungeon atmosphere. Perhaps it is due to the way the flickering candlelight glints off the hundreds of potions jars and containers and vessels. Perhaps it is merely reflecting the somber attitude of the ancient and temperamental Professor Kazimeriz as you enter his domain.
The main floor of the classroom is filled with large work tables, each accompanied by two stools. Each seat in the class has a stand suitable for a standard cauldron and a small bunsen burner for a fire source beneath it.
The walls of the room are lined with shelves, laden with jars of every shape and size. The entire room is fastidiously neat, and all the jars have been organized according to size and shape. Each have uniform, detailed parchment-coloured labels describing their contents.
Most of the jars appear to be filled with innocous liquids or plant materials. However, many of the jars house more insidious ingredients: there is one jar that appears to be filled with bloated pickled toads, another stores fat eyeballs from an unknown mammal, and still others seem to contain the visceral organs of animals - spleens, newt tails, a whole jar filled with tiny black beetle eyes, and wriggling, fat flobberworms. There is one jar that appears to hold some sort of severed hand, suspended in gelatinous fluid as though it is waving to the class.
Black marble shelves alone the perimeter of the classroom hold a host of common lab equipment: stills, crucibles, mortars and pestles, an open jar filled with glass and wooden stirring rods, empty phials and corks, knives, evaporating dishes- everything a young potion maker may need is on hand. There is also a fairly large collection of ancient books on potion making at the back of the class.
At the front of the class, there is a chalkboard, a lectern, and a large locked cabinet which houses the more dangerous potion-making supplies and brewed potions. There is also a shelf lined with cauldrons that are steaming and bubbling, brewing whatever the professor is working on. A large worktable has been placed at the front of the class; on the left, there is an assortment of bottles and containers of varying sizes and shapes. Clustered to the right is a far larger grouping of bottles, containers, and phials.
The Professor is nowhere to be seen. The chalkboard reads simply:

Second Year
The little first year had to admit to be pleased with the current assignment. Invention of Potions, a most interesting procedure. And to have the opportunity to be assisted in the process... she was very excited at this possibility.
Diane opened her text book. At the moment, she was flipping pages one after the other, hunting for ideas. Step one. Let's see... it was already late afternoon, the moon may be up. Today... it was newmoon, barely waxing. Rather than picking a potion on liking, she should pick a potion with the given possibilities. New moon was good for invisibility potions.
Disguise. But not necessarily physical... disguise mental state. Unreable Potions. Something to relate to Occlumancy, fool Veritaserum... Nah, not interesting enough. Conceal from sight... conceal intentions... conceal smells. She liked that. Conceal from the senses. Conceal magical presence. She was onto something.
She made a note at the side of Babbling Potions. She made notes on Baruffio's Brain Elixir and on Scintillation Solution, along the receipie for a brevage from the Seventeenth Century. Her choices rather looked random and unrelated but, for now, she was acting on pure instinct. In any case, it would be something to fool empathic knowledge.
An infussion would be good. A solution would not be strong enough to penetrate the bloodstream and permeate the circulatory system. In this way, it would act like a Charm; but if it acted like a philter, it would need to tamper with the people-other-than-the-drinker's sense of smell.
The key was smell. Even if she was still unsure what kind of potion she would invent, she was onto a path she did not dislike at all. She might be able to find clues in Dark Magic Detectors and Mood Stones since it would very possibly affect the capillaries; in other words, thermotropic liquid crystals.
Right now her Potions journal was a mix of random notes and arrows.

Ugh. Something just wasn't right. Was it just him or would the additional ingredients do nothing at all. His aim was to make people happy and excited and hyper, not just laugh. No. He neeeded more ingredients. More ingredients meant well, MORE CRAZINESS. This potion had to be crazy. It was made of crazy. And why make a crazy-thingy potion if everyone was already crazy?? Hmm. He didn't really know. Maybe if he drank it, he'd have exploded from all the hyperness he was gonna have.
But the gold stars... he was CRAVING for gold stars. Stars in general he liked, and the gold made it all better, and the MAGIC just made it PERFECT! "Okaaaaay let's see. Hmm. More inflaming brain thingy ingredients. Moar moar moaaaaarrrr." Cam put the book so close up to his face, it completely hid his face. Skim skim skim."Ahhh." He quickly wrote down another ingredient and added a few more details.

Paris pulled out her potions journal out of her bag. It was filling to the brim with her potions and her inventions, but it was charmed to keep refilling so it never ran out of paper. She pulled her quill from behind her ear and tapped it against her chin as the thought of a potion she could brew. It had to be something good and something no one else would think of. Something that only she would think to come up with. Her quill tapped against her chin.
Tap, tap, tap....
Tap, tap, tap....
She usually took weeks to come up with something and prefect it. But now she was being put to the test. She had to rise to the occasion.
Tap, tap, tap...
Tap, tap, tap...
Merlin this was hard!!! She didn't know how the Iron Chef could come up with 5 original dishes in an hour with a surprise ingredient. She would have to tip her hat to them. They were really Iron Chefs.
It was like a light bulb going off over her head. She giggled and started to write out her potion. She would have to start with some of the same things as a polyjuice potion, but it would require a few other things and then some of the things being left out. She wasn't wanting someone to turn into someone else. She wanted the potion to make a copy of that same person.

Reason: computer was acting up!
Daniel smiled at the Professor as he approached him to gather his needed ingredients on the table.
Water, scarab bettle, ginger root, armadillo bile, aloe, skinkroot and lavender. He then hurried back as he prepared the ingredients the way he needed them.
coarsely crushed the scarab bettle, cuts the ginger root evenly, crushed the aloe and gathered its juice, thinly sliced the skinkroot, and crushed a pinch of lavender
He then looked at his journal and wrote down some instructions.

POTIONS PLAN

Your House: Gryffindor
Your Year: 4th Year
Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE): Behaviorally Altering
The Boost Potion
Intent: A potion that will boost the concentration, confidence and esteem of the drinker
Ingredients: *water (500mL)
* scarab beetles (coarsely ground; 2)
* ginger root (cut; 5g)
* armadillo bile (9 drops)
* aloe juice (2 drops)
* skinkroot (10 translucently slices)
* lavender (1 pinch)
Process:
Preparations:
1. Coarsely grind 2 scarab beetle.
2. Cut 5g of ginger root evenly.
3. Skinkroot is thinly sliced. You will need 10 slices.
4. Crush a pinch of lavender.
5. Crush aloe and get the juice.
*Notes:
1. Make sure the ginger root is evenly sliced.
2. Skinkroot should be cut thinly and evenly. If done right, it should be translucent.
Brewing Procedures:
1. Bring water to a delicate simmer on medium heat.
2. Add scarab beetles and stir 5 times, clockwise
3. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes
4. Add ginger without stirring and simmer for 20 minutes
5. On the 15th minute of simmering, add the skinkroot. *you will notice a pinkish tinge in the water when the timing is right
6. Add the crushed lavender. And then remove from heat.
7. Allow solution to cool, stirring 7 times every 3 minutes, alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise stirrings
8. When heat can no longer be felt when a hand is placed above the potion, add armadillo bile and aloe drops.
9. Allow potion to sit for 8 minutes
*Unlike the Wit-Sharpening potion, this potion does not stink and has a nice color in it.
*if done right it should smell like a flower garden and a pink tinge clear water
Daniel then started the flame and put the cauldron on top of it. He then got his timer and arranged it on his work station.
He then let the water simmer over the flame, when he saw that the water is nearly boiling but not quite on the boiling point (simmering), he then adds the coarsely crushed scarab beetles and then stirred clockwise for 5 times. and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, add the evenly sliced ginger and simmer for 20 minutes. He then sets his timer for the 20 minute mark and the 15 minute mark.
When the alarm rang for the 15 minute mark, he added the skinkroot and waited for 5 minutes more. He then noticed that the potion is turning into a little pink-tinged water.
After the 20 minutes of simmering, he added the crushed lavender. and then he removed it cauldron from the heat.
Daniel then waited for the potion to cool as he stir it every 3 minutes. He stirs it for seven times alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise. He sets the alarm to got on every 3 minutes so he would not forget it. He did that while he takes down notes on his ingredients.
Quote:
water - the universal base aloe - has the power of protection and luck. *Added in this potion to balance the properties of ginger root and that of the skinkroot which are both fire element in nature. scarab beetle - increases concentration skinkroot - for strength and courage armadillo bile - adds humor ginger root - stimulant to promote alertness. lavender - soothing properties... *Adds the sweet smell that the wit-sharpening potion lacks
When he tested that the potion is not hot, he added the armadillo bile and the aloe drops. *Armadillo bile vaporizes when added on a hot potion.
He then let the potion sit for another 8 minutes and scooped it in phials. He took note of the color and the odor. When done correctly, the potion should have a pink tinge and a garden scent.
He then raised his hand and said, "Professor, is this good?"

Kazimeriz came by and looked over the potions plan. Very interesting. He approved- the boy showed he was thinking about what ingredients did, and how they interacted. "Very good-- the extreme use of ginger may actually also have some side effects of balancing the lovage with a bit of cleverness and sense. We shall see, though, once you brew..." Kazimeriz gave him a gold star. "Get to work, now."

Kazimeriz evaluated Greenwood's plan. "I admire your ambition- Very Slytherin of you. though I think you may be overreaching for a potion that will only have the opportunity to brew for about 2 hours at best... Polyjuice is less ambitious than a cloning potion and that takes 21 days to mature; something on this level of complexity might take months or more-- presuming you have the right ingredients and process, of course. You show that you are thinking about ingredients and their interaction, though, I see you have selected a fair amount of ingredients that cause physical transformations, which is excellent."
He paused, considering. "You may go ahead with your brewing process, but you are NOT permitted to sample the potion yourself or give it to a test subject- there are some ingredients in there that may be fatal when used in concert. Instead, you will give your sample to me to evaluate." Kazimeriz nodded and smiled at her, giving her two gold stars. "An extra star for ambition." he tipped her a wink and moved on.

Kazimeriz came over and evaluated the plan. "Very good, Kaiser. Please bottle a phial of it..." He reviewed the potion again; there was nothing fatal in it, though the effect of the skinroot might be... amusing. "Who would like to earn a gold star by volunteering to sample young Mr. Kaiser's potion?" Kazimeriz asked, as he gave Kaiser another gold star for completing the potion. "I ask that it be someone whose potion is complete or very near completion... And for the rest of you, work quickly, I want to see some fascinating new potions taking shape! You are the future of the potions world, let us see what you can do... and remember, participation earns you stars. The student with the most stars will earn a prize!" He smiled wickedly at this last statement.
It occurred to him that he would have done well to invite the healer to this class. Oops.
The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.
William was scurrying around trying to find the best potion. His other ideas had fallen even before he could concoct a plan and so he had scrubbed those out of his brain. Something else was playing around in there but he wasn't exactly sure what the full effect of the potion would be like. He figured it was worth a shot, and even if it didn't work now the way he wanted he could always try again in the lab, or make more notes and find other ingredients to add to it.

Potion Journal
Name: William. Z. Cullack House: Ravenclaw Year: 2nd
Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE):
Behaviorally Altering
Intent (what you think the potion you make should do):
I hope to make the drinker fall asleep and babble their most hidden secrets to the world without realizing it.
Ingredients:
water (500mL)
lavender (a pinch; crushed)
chamomile (a handful; crushed)
for nightmares: purslane (a pinch) *not needed for this potion*
for more powerful brew: ginger (a pinch)
Valerian root (one small root, crushed)
Armadillo bile (3ml)**
Jobberknoll feathers (one bunch)**
peppermint (2 sprigs)
lovage (two leaves finely minced **
Preparation:
Take a pinch of lavander and crush it in your mortar using your pestle.
Clean you mortar and pestle thoroughly before crushing your chamomile.
Clean mortar and pestle again.
Slice up a thin slice of fresh ginger and crush it in your mortar and pestle.
Clean mortar and pestle.
Crush the small root of Valerian Root with mortar and pestle.
Clean again.
Add 3ml of Armadillo Bile to a vial and close the cap.
Set one bunch of jobberknoll feathers aside.
Place 2 sprigs of peppermint beside the jobberknoll feathers.
Using your knife, which had been cleaned before mince the two leaves of lovage and add them to a bowl.
Process:
Bring water to a slow boil. Use medium flame
Add lavender and stir 21 times, counter-clockwise.
Add Jobberknoll feathers, allow the potion to come to a full boil.
Add peppermint
Add chamomile and let simmer for 20 minutes (potion should be pale, clear, purple with a tint of green, though the green may not always be observable)
Add Valerian Root**, stir ten times clock-wise, then five times counter clock wise.
Let boil for two minutes exactly. Potion should turn to a soft lime green state.
Add armadillo bile** and lovage** let simmer until the color has become the shade of turquoise.
reduce heat until a very low flame is under the cauldron then wait two minuets before filling a flash.
William frowned. This was looking more like a sleeping potion than what he previously intended. Opening his potion textbook he looked through the ingredients looking for anything that would add to a babbling state. Finding other ingredients which could help with the truth telling parts he added them to the journal with little stars beside them.

Cam looked up to see another gold star be placed just above his head. WEEEEEE! Now imagine if he got this right, maybe even anoooother gold star! He didn't really care about winning and all that, because really, the gold stars already proved to be waaaaaaay awesome and such. Yup yup. "Thankyouu sir!" And he was off to work. "Okee okee, ingredients first..." He looked back at his plan, carrying his journal off with him to the side of the walls with the ingredients, remembering to put on his dragon hide gloves because he did read something about doing that.
"Ginger roots...5 chicken feathers," he paused, worrying and wondering if they had to kill a chicken to get all of these feathers, "Uhh... okay let's seeee here. Pepper, leaves, lovage, sneezewort, peppermint. And Wartcap Powder?" Hmm. He didn't know what the heck it did that could have made him wear gloves, but eh, he handled the small box carefully and went right back to his workplace area.
He skimmed down through his potions textbook yet again, using his finger as a guide. OKAY! So he was good to go. Grind first I guess. Cam grabbed about, 4 mortars and 2 pestles, placing the lovage and sneezewort in one mortar and the others in their own. He started grinding the black pepper first, grabbing a pestle and grounding it down, doing the process for about, 5-7 minutes or so. He did the same with all the other ingredients in the mortars and started cutting up the ginger roots.
Ugh. 15 slices?! Well THAT was gonna be hard. Cam took the knife. Knife. It only brought him to worry. Here he was grinding and murdering these HERB/PLANTS. It was just SADDDDD. On the 15th slice, he gave a sigh of relief and QUICKLY put the knife away. Hmm cutting up the ginger roots weren't part of the instructions? Eh. He wrote more stuff down in his plan.

Grinding with a pestle&mortar I found to be very helpful and effective though it requires a little bit of strength to grind it perfectly almost perfectly. Also found grinding counter-clockwise with the pestle to be helpful too, as it moves your hand outwards and you don't get all too cluttered up. Each took about 5-7 minutes, in total minutes, about 20-30 min. Cut up ginger roots in 15 slices*NEEDS to be cut evenly

Shred Cabbage into fine pieces,
When juice is boiling, add pineapple rings and cabbage, and whole Be-Still Seeds.
Stir six time clockwise.
Add juice of 3 leeches then stir clockwise two times.
Reduce heat and let mixture brew for twenty minutes.
While mixture brews, peel and chop ginger root and Lucky Hand root.
Break up the pieces of Banyan Bark and place them in your mortar.
Using the tip of your wand, set the bark on fire.
Let it burn until the bark has turned to ash.
Add whole Anise seeds to mortar.
Crush with pestle mixing seeds and bark together.
Add Job’s Tears Seeds to mortar.
Crush whole seeds making sure you mix them with the previous seed/bark mixture.
When the twenty minutes are up, add Moonstone Powder and seed/bark mixture to brew.
Stir four times counter clockwise, then six times clockwise.
Add two drops Cinnamon Oil.
Stir once clockwise.
Remove cauldron from heat and strain mixture.
Clean all the undisolved ingredients from cauldron.
Pour mixture back into clean cauldron.
Add Honky Daffodil Pollen and Saffron to mixture.
Stir eight time counter clockwise then one time clockwise.
When Abby has finished writing her potion formula down in her potion plan book, she goes and gathers the ingredients she will need to brew the potion.
After Chris had finished writing out his Potion Plan, the Prefect walked to the areas the Professor pointed out were where the potion ingrediants were found. He caried his notebook with him checking to make sure he was right as he grabbed the necessary essence of violet, essence of rose thorn, two raven feathers, twenty skinkroots that were as thin as he could get, and three rat eyes.
He then walked back to his cauldren station with all of his needed ingrediants, he could make his own water from the Aguamenti Spell, he set them out ready for use. He looked at the notes and read the first step.
'Bring 500mL of water to a boil.' He pointed his wand into a 500mL flask and filled it to the line. He then poured the correct amount into the cauldren, after lighting the fire underneath it.
After waiting a few minutes for the water to boil, Chris looked at the next instruction 'add 5 drops essence of violet and stir 5 times, clockwise.' Seems easy enough. He grabbed the little phial in which the ingrediant was in and dropped 5, little drops into the boiling water. Potions was starting to go well for him this term. He then stirred the required 5 times clockwise.
Next he preformed the 'add 7 drops essence of rose thorn and stir 7 times, counter-clockwise' instruction from his notes stirring the correct seven times counter-clockwise.
Aislynn thought long and hard about a potion to make. It was complete free range, she could make anything. It was risky. Should she try something simple or daring that has never been done before? Daring. She wouldn't be herself if she didn't take a little risk. She figured a potions that would transform you physically would be much harder than something emotional or behaviorally. She took out a piece of parchment and wrote out her plan.
SPOILER!!: Potions plan
Your name: Aislynn Jolie
Your House: Gryffindor
Your Year: 6th year
Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE):
Intent (what you think the potion you make should do):
>>This potions is meant to transfigure the drinker to look more beautiful. This potion is meant to boost the drinker's esteem and make them feel a look more beautiful. This would be an improvement on Malodora Grymm and Sacharissa Tugwood's early potions. They haven't been improved in decades, and a lot of the potions target certain areas like pimples, blemishes, etc. This potions would transform the entire body inside and out to make more beautiful.
Ingredients:
>> 8 oz. of water from Fiji
>> 1 oz. crude Antimony
>> 2 drachms of Sal Ammoniac
>> 7 drops of Flobberworm Mucus
>> 4 Skink Eyes
>> 12 Rose Petals
>> 1/4 cup of orange paste
>> 1 pinch of powdered horn of a bicorn
>> 2 sprigs of Aloe
>> 6 Leeches
>> 25 porcupine quills
>> Sprig of peppermint
>> 10 drops of essence of lavender
Process:
1. Use a pewter cauldron. Coat the bottom of the cauldron with an orange paste. Then pour in the Fiji water.
2. Bring the water of Fiji dugbog urine to a rapid boil.
3. Stir in the orange paste counter-clockwise, adding a clockwise stir every five stirs. The potion should be a milky yellow.
4. Add four Skink Eyes immediately and boil one minute past the point at which they are fully dissolved. The potion should be orange in color.
5. While stirring counter-clockwise (use a stirring charm with your wand), pour in the 2 drachms of Sal Ammoniac and the 1 oz. crude Antimony at the same time, but make sure the streams DO NOT cross each others path.
6. Bring the boil down to a simmer. Add the sprigs of aloe and peppermint, pinch of powdered horn of a bicorn and 10 drops of essence of lavender. DO NOT change the order of ingredients. The potion should turn a deep purple color, if not the potion is useless, START OVER.
7. Turn the boil back up to a rapid boil. And add your leeches before it reaches the top boiling point.
8. Stir clockwise 13 times and between each stir add a rose petal. Let it boil for 10 minutes.
9. Take the cauldron off the burner. After two minutes and fifteen seconds add 25 porcupine quills and let them dissolve in the potion.
10. The potion should turn lavender purple before being bottled.
Aislynn almost felt exhausted after all of that writing. She took some elements from different potions and put them all together. She only hoped it would be approved and it would work. She raised her hand to get Professor Kazimeriz's attention. "Excuse me sir, could you please look over mine before I begin?"

It occurred to him that he would have done well to invite the healer to this class. Oops.
At first Paris was afraid that he would nix her potion. It was ambitious she knew that. Go big or go home was something she lived by. She figured if she were going to fail at least she would fail in as much style as she did everything else in her life. She nodded and smiled as she got two gold stars.
She was looking like a right angel with halo of stars around her head. She went off to gather the ingredients to brew her potion.

POTIONS PLAN- A Diva's Work Draught
Your name: Paris Emily Greenwood
Your House: Slytherin
Your Year: 4th
Type of Potion you are Making: Physically Altering
Intent: A diva's work is never done. Sometimes you need to be in two places at once. This potion will make an exact copy of you so you can get all the jobs of being a diva done.
Ingredients:
* 7 Scarab beetles- (crushed)
* Skinkroot
* 500 ml of warm Water
* Fireseed (2 pinches, must be fresh)
* Aloe ( 7 leaves whole)
* Bicorn Horn
* 1 Boomslang skin (sliced)
* Knotgrass (a whole stalk)
* Leeches (a handful)
* Fluxwood ( 2 cm piece, quartered)
* Dittany (sliced)
Process:
1. Bring water to a very slow boil. Gently rolling
2. Add aloe, skinroot and dittany and steep for 10 minutes. Stirring often
3. Add leeches and beetle
4. Gently turn up the heat up
5. Add boomslang and fluxwood in alternative stages (if potion becomes to thick slowly add WARM water)
6. Once potion turns red add knotgrass stir clockwise 5 times
7. Turn off heat and once potion turns silver add the fireseed
8. Let the potion cool for 2 minutes and then add saliva
9. If brewed correctly potion should turn pink and a copy of yourself should appear in 28 seconds and last 24 hours*.
*Its extremely dangerous to have a copy of yourself running around for longer than 8 hours
After she got everything ready, she sliced and quartered all her ingredients. She lit the flame on her cauldron using her wand to adjust the flame down some. She didn't want to burn her eyebrows off when she added the dittany. She stood over her cauldron and watched as small bubbles started to form on the surface. Using her cutting board and her knife she swept the aloe leaves, skinroot and dittany into the cauldron. Now she had to stir for 10 minutes. The dittany needed time to break up into the potion. It would help the person feel whole again after their clone fizzled.
The 10 minutes went by slower than she thought was possible and she quickly added the leeches, well after she squealed because one was trying to crawl up her arm. After the little hissy fit in went the beetles and she used her wand once again to turn up the heat. Now it was time to add the boomslang and the fluxwood. She added a slice of the skin and then a quarter of the fluxwood and she did this back and forth slowly till it was all in the potion.
It was still grey and Paris started to worry that she was doing it wrong, but after a few nervous seconds it turned fire engine red. She clapped excitedly. She added the knotgrass and started to count as she stirred her potion clockwise 5 times. With her wand she doused the flame. She sat down on her stool to wait for her potion to turn silver. It took almost 15 minutes before it did and slowly added the fireseeds. She didn't want to burn her eyebrows off. When the potion was cooled she ladled some into a vial and corked it with her wand.

After he had finished the first two steps of his Anti-Love (Delusting) Potion, Chris then preformed the nest step which was to decrease the temperature and to simmer the concoction for ten minutes and as each minute passes the Prefect stirred two times counter-clockwise.
Next he added the required two raven feathers, and let it boil for five minutes as he stirred clockwise. Then he came to the stopping point, in which he moved the cauldren from th heat for a few minutes as he bent down to write a not on a his Potion Plan
Quote:
'It says the Potion will stay viable for a month from this point.'
He found that as a useful bit of information so just had to copy it down. After putting down his quill he began to slowly bring the potion back to a boil. After doing this he added all twenty of the skinkroots allowing it to simmer until it turned pink.
Lastly he plopped the three rats' eyes in and then rduced the heat and stirred unitl dark, black streaks appeared. As he finished he made another quick note on his Potions plan.
Quote:
'Doesn't look very appealing to drink.'
Chris looked up to Professor Kazimeriz and asked. "Professor, Im finished and does my Anti-Love Potion look correct to you sir?" he wondered who would have to taste it.
While he waited, Chris looked down at his now updated Potion plan that contained his side-notes.

Anti-Love (Delusting) potion
Cam was pretty much scared for this step, it was the first process with the cauldron. Ohhhh oh oh if he failed boiling water, he was starting to wonder if he could even do the whole thing anymore. Getting a glass of 500mL of water, he slowly, EVER so slowly, poured it into his empty cauldron. Oh the intensity! Starting the fire (even that was a pretty scary part for him), he waited for hmm, about 5 minutes or so until he finally saw bubbles appearing. Weeeee for boiling point.
Okay, that part was done. What next? Hmm. Add in ginger roots and the Wartcap powder. His dragon-hide gloves were on so he was a bit... confused why the instructions said not to let it touch on your skin. Would it do something? Cam was... mighty... curious. Maybe... later. Bleh so many distractions.
He got the ginger roots, and just decided to pour them in aaaaall at the same time. It would've been easier that way anyways. He got five and dropped them into the cauldron, doing the same with the 10 other slices. Now the Wartcap Powder... Getting the small box, he made sure it was only 1/8 teaspoon and poured it into cauldron.
"Stiiiiiir counter-clockwise... for...5 minutes?" His hand, was going to DIE from the stirring. Stirring at a medium speed, he sighed and continued that on for about 5 minutes. He was right. His hand was dead. His muscles sorta ached ALREADY. Pathetic. And he wasn't even halfway done yet. A reddish color started to form which was... ZOMGCOOL.
Chicken feathers and black pepper next. Taking about 5 chicken feathers from the 10 he took (incase he needed extra) and taking the mortar with the grinded pepper, he got ready to put in the chicken feathers first--but not without bowing his head for a few seconds in remorse for the presumably dead chicken they had killed to get all of the feathers.
Sniff.
He hesitantly dropped in the 5 feathers and poured the grinded black pepper from the mortar. Stirring for an easy two minutes, he smiled happily and looked at the change. Ahhh. There. The coloring seemed to have darkened. Dark red now. Almost the color of blood. It looked like... bubbling blood th--it MADE him SICK. Quickly, he grabbed his quill yet again and wrote down the observations and such on his potions journal.

Intent (what you think the potion you make should do): Based on the Tickling Tincture, it'll make the user laugh and feel all happy--and hyper, all at the same time!
AKA HAPPY-GO-LUCKY POTION
Ingredients:
Same Same&Additional ingredients used in Tickling Tincture:
water (500 mL)
ginger roots (cut; 10 slices20 15 slices--JUST TO BOOOST UP THE HAPPINESS)
Wartcap powder (1/8 teaspoon) DO NOT GET ON SKIN!!
chicken feathers (5 down feathers)
black pepper (ground; 1 teaspoons)
alihotsy leaves (ground; 1 3 teaspoons--will cause slight hysteria, will be used to add in the HYYYPEERNESSS&excitement)
lovage (ground; 1/2 teaspoon--will cause a bit recklessness, to add in with the hyper)
sneezewort (ground; 1/2 teaspoon--will cause a bit recklessness, to add in with the hyper)
sprig of peppermint
Process: Start grinding the pepper, alihotsy leaves, and lovage (seperately) Grind pepper, alihotsy leaves, and peppermint seperately. Grind lovage and sneezewort in one bowl. And slice ginger roots in 15 slices.*do not put TOO MUCH strength--(do not waste all of your energy grinding, will just waste time&energy)
Requires time&patience as well. Bring water to a boil*make sure ALL 500mL of water of it goes in the cauldron(will be base of potion)
After adding in the 500mL of water, I added in the fire and waited for it to bubble. Temperature--boiling point temperature. Add ginger and Wartcap powder, stir counterclockwise for 5 minutes*careful with Wartcap powder (although I don't know how it could be dangerous) Wear dragon-hide gloves
Saves more time if putting in 5 slices of ginger at a time. I made sure to be exact with the Wartcap powder, which if added too much, can do somethingsomething with your skin. Color slowly turned to red while stirring. Add chicken feathers and black pepper, stir clockwise for 2 minutes*have extra chicken feathers. They tend to fly away most of the times.
Added 5 chicken feathers and poured in black pepper. While stirring, color turned darker (blood red) Mix all grinded materials in one bowl and pour in cauldron. Stir clockwise for 10 minutes. Remove from fire and stir clockwise for 3 minutes
He NEEDED those gold stars. Cam wanted this potion to beee picture perfect so he quickly skimmed back to the textbook and then went back to his cauldron.

Anna paid careful attention to the discussion, hanging on to every word Professor Kazimeriz was saying. This was the type of practical that could help her be well on her way to establishing herself in the Potions industry. She cracked open her potions journal and began to write
POTIONS PLAN
Your name: Anna Bella Greingoth
Your House: Gryffindor
Your Year: Seventh
Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE):
Behaviorally Altering
Intent: The intent of this potion is to give a person additional bravery and intelligence in troubling times. The potion would give a person enough bravery to withstand and overcome trying times, as well as the additional intelligence needed to guide them through the correct processes to take while in the midst of a struggle.
Stage Two:
Two stingers from a billywig
Three 1inch x 3inch pieces of boomslang skin
Erumpent tail (1 tail)
Armadillo bile (3 additional drops)
Ginger roots (cut, 2 large)
Leech (1 whole)
Moonstone (crushed into a fine powder)
Process:
Begin by adding exactly 500mL of water to a properly cleaned and maintained cauldron. Bring the water to a slow boil.
Crush the graphorn horn into a fine sand-like powder. Add precisely three tablespoons of the powder to the cauldron. Stir clock-wise until the mixture turns a gray-ish purple color (the color, of course, of an actual graphorn).
As soon as you have achieved a grayish-purple color, you may add in three drops of armadillo bile. The mixture should maintain its grayish-purple color. As you are adding the armadillo bile into the mixture, alternate stirring techniques between clockwise and counter-clockwise. Doing so will help give your potion an equal balance between bravery and intelligence.
Add exactly one cup of flobberworm mucus. Afterwards, resume stirring in a clockwise only direction. Continue stirring until the flobberworm mucus has thickened the mixture in a paste-like substance. A light steam should also be present.
Place the lid back on top of the cauldron and let the mixture sit for approximately ten minutes. This should complete stage one of the process.
After a ten minute timespan has passed, remove the lid of the cauldron and lower the temperature. Because the potion has been idle for ten minutes, alternate clockwise and counter-clockwise stirring techniques for a few minutes.
Chop the two billywig stingers into small, half-inch long pieces. Add all pieces into the mixture. With this addition, the potion should begin to lose its grayish tint and assume a bolder purplish color.
Chop the boomslang skin into three 1inch x 3inch pieces. The pieces do not have to be measured exactly but must come quite close. Add in these pieces one at a time, stirring counter-clockwise three times in between each addition.
Chop the erumpent tail into inch-long pieces. Add three of these pieces into the mixture one at a time. Stir clockwise three times in between each addition.
Add three additional drops of armadillo bile into the mixture. Momentarily, the mixture should appear to be turning grayish once again, but alternate stirring between counter-clockwise and clockwise until the grayish colors fade away.
Increase the temperature to allow the mixture to heat just a bit.
Cut two large ginger roots into small, inch-long pieces and add into the mixture. At this point, the mixture should assume a bit more of a bolder purple color.
Add one whole leech to the mixture. The light steam should once again be present.
Let the potion sit while you crush a moonstone into a fine powdery state. Add in three tablespoons one at a time. Stir clockwise six times in between each addition.
Eliminate the temperature source and allow the potion to cool. With this, the potion should be a brilliant, bold purple color and should be ready for usage.
"Professor Kazimeriz?" Anna asked, her hand raised high in the air. "Would you mind taking a look at my plan before I begin brewing, please?" Hopefully she'd created a really nice plan that would work well and suit the purpose she'd aimed for. If the professor gave her the green light, she could begin brewing and hopefully get finished by the end of class.
Oops.
Daniel did as what he was told. He grabbed phials from his potions kit and bottled the potion he just brewed. He then approached the Professor and handed him a phial and said, "Professor, I made three phials of the potion." he cleared his throat and said, "Professor" he sounded with a little hesitation, "If nobody wanted to try the potion, I can do it." he said.
He don't want any trouble happening to anybody. Especially to a newly brewed potion that is done as an experiment by a 4th year student.

I see trees of green,
Red roses too.
I see 'em bloom for me and for you.
And I think to myself, What a wonderful world.
I have no trouble finding the roots and seeds. Of course Professor Kazimeriz has leeches, the pineapple, cabbage, the Daffodil Pollen, and the saffron, but I never thought I find the pomegranate juice. I remember Professor Frost saying it was essential in a luck improvement charm. I never could understand how the Felix Filicus potion could go from a burgundy red to bright gold. Anyway Professor Kazimeriz had one bottle that he had hidden on the back of one of the wall shelves. It looked like it had about ten years worth of dust on it too. Amazing when you consider, he bought new potions supplies shortly after the beginning of the term.
Abby measures the juice and places it in her cauldron. She lights the burner under it. While the juice comes to a boil, Abby starts chopping up her other ingredients. She first shreds the cabbage as fine as she can with her knife. Abby puts it to one side, and proceeds to shave off the dried pineapple into perfect paper thin rings. It is important to cut your ingredients exactly as the formula says. The juice is now boiling, so Abby adds the pineapple rings, then the cabbage on top of them. She then drops the three Be-Still seeds in. Its funny the seeds do anything but be still. Abby then takes her paddle and stirs the mixture six times clockwise. She then cuts off the heads of the leeches, dangles over the top of the potion, and squeezes the juice out of each. When the last of the leech juice hits the potion, the mixture turns black. It also starts emitting a noxious odor. Abby stirs the mixture two more times clockwise. She then cleans her area of the cabbage and pineapple remnants. She also moves her chair down wind of the potion.
Abby now turns her attention to the roots. She washes her knife before she starts chopping her roots. Abby doesnt want to contaminate the ingredients before they enter the potion. Its important not to mingle the magic too soon. Doing so may alter the results you get when the ingredients are added to the potion. I then peel and chop my ginger fine. I add ginger to the potion to boost the magic of the other ingredients. This is suppose to be a powerful luck potion. Sort of a sister potion to the Felix Filicus. Abby then washes her knife again and gets to work on the Lucky Hand Root. The name says it all. This root is full of luck. Its also used in love potions, so you have to be sure you are careful with the ingredients. Too many ingredients that are also put in love potions will result in you brewing a love potion by mistake. I wont have that problem. All the ingredients Im using are full of magical luck. All I have to worry about is getting the measurements right. Abby smiles and peels and chops the Lucky Hand. I never said it was a fool proof potion. Theres always a chance of a mistake. Abby cleans her work station again and takes a quick peak at the brew in her cauldron. Its boiling away to its hearts content. There is a little solid cabbage floating around, but all the pineapple had dissolved. She then breaks up the Banyan bark and drop it in my mortar. I then light the end of my wand and set the bark on fire. Banyan bark doesnt really burn. It smolders. Unfortunately, that means it puts off a more smoky smell. After a few minutes the Banyan bark is now ash. The next thing I do is drop the Anise seeds to the mortar. I use my pestle to crush the Anise seeds. I make sure to grind the seeds into the Banyan ash. When the Anise seeds are powder, I add the Jobs Tears seeds. They are much easier to crush. I think thats because they dont have as hard a shell as the Anise seeds do. I look at my clock. The twenty minutes are almost up. I measure the Moonstone Powder. By then, its time to add the powder ingredients. I check my formula and then add the Moonstone powder first. The minute it hits the mixture it turns it royal blue. I then add the seed/ash mixture to my potion. Then I stir it four times counterclockwise and six time clockwise. I do this because the ingredients have more than one magical power. The counter clockwise stirring helps to mask the other magical powers not needed for this potion. The clockwise stirring increases the luck magical power in the ingredients. Hey, I also do it because it couldnt hurt.
Now I add the cinnamon oil. Only two drops because this stuff is super powerful. Too much and the person consuming the potion could explode with luck. Not a pretty sight when that happens. My hand starts to shake as I add the oil. I drop the first drop and the potion turns a hazy red. The second drop turns it to a pale, pale pink. I then stir the potion clockwise one more time. To my utter amazement, the potion turns to a pale yellow. I take that as a good sign. My formula must be on the right track. Now Im down to the wire. What I do know will result in my potion being a success, or the potion lab being splattered with yellow goo. I take the cauldron off its stand, strain it through a sieve into a clean bowl. I leave the potion to cool a little. I take my cauldron to the sink and clean out all the potion and all the ingredients that havent dissolved. It is important to remember not to use soap during this process. All you need is luke warm water. I dont care how many times you rinse your cauldron, or how hot the water is you use. There is no way you can be sure beyond a reasonable doubt that you have gotten all the soap out. Soap is the enemy of this potion. It will render it to a useless fruit juice cocktail. I finish rinsing my cauldron and dry it out good with a clean dry cloth. I return it to my station, then I pour the strained potion back into it. I then look at my formula one more time. I measure my Honky Daffodil Pollen and Saffron exactly. Your measurements must be exact. I then pour the pollen in. The minute it hits the liquid, it turn bright yellow. Yesss!!! I then add the saffron and immediately stir the potion eight times clockwise and one time counter clockwise. I close my eyes while I stir. The only thing Im thinking about is the number of stirs. When Im finished, I take the paddle out and open my eyes. Goollldddd . The potion is now gold. I do a little dance around my station. Im not sure if it will be a potent as Felix Filius, but it the right color .. All right!!! I laddle my potion into the phials, and clean my station up.
Lyra had been quiet as she did NOT want to make Professor Kazi mad nor did she really want to draw attention in her direction...just yet. She took out her journal as there was really only ONE THING she knew she was good at: changing the color of things. She took out her PINK quill and began writing down what the professor asked.
SPOILER!!: PINKPINKPINKPINK! All things PINK!
POTIONS PLAN
Your name: Lyra Noir Your House: Hufflepuff Your Year: Seventh Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE): Physically Altering
Intents (what you think the potion you make should do): Turn things, what I want, into the PINK color
Ingredients:
Moonstone PINK ONLY in color
Water (400 ml)
belladonna (2 g; crushed)
nettles (5 g; dried, powdered)
pomegranate juice (2 ml)
Water (100 ml)
Muggle water bottle
Process:
Place moonstone and water into cauldron and boil for exactly 3 minutes
add belladonna and stir counter-clockwise for exactly one minute
Add nettles, one g at a time, stirring clockwise ten times, to make sure the powder has dissolved.
Add pomegranate slowly. Make sure to continue stirring clockwise while potion thickens
Add 100 ml of water and stir counter-clockwise once again for exactly 20 strokes. Potion should still be a watery mixture but with a thickness to it. It should also be PINK in color
Notes:
Potion should be placed in a muggle water bottle for a splash of color
Potion will keep for as long as one needs it and keeps it refrigerated
Items colored will keep up to one hour only
Cam glanced at his Potions Plan journal. Now looking at it from a view, it looked all... messy. Messy handwritings. Messy cross-outs... the professor would approve of this, right?! Oh he was worried the old man's eyes would find his writing illegible, but suuuuurely he would understand he was up in a hurry with the writing. He'd understand. Kazi was a nice old man. Sometimes. He looked back at the cauldron and sighed. Still blood red.
It looked disgusting. Happy cheery potions weren't SUPPOSE to look disgusting. They were suppose to look all happy... and cheerful. NOT THIS. Maybe he'd done something wrong? Oh no... He looked back in his textbook. Bleh it didn't specify what color it would show up as.
Tortured him with worry, it did.
Next step. "Leeeeett's seee." Mix all grounded ingredients. Ooooh. This was easy, right? Cam got all of the mortars with the crushed and grounded herbs and decided to use the mortar with the grounded alihotsy leaves to put all of 'em in. Slowly pouring the lovage, the sneezewort, and the sprig of peppermint with the alihotsy leaves, he got a pestle again and mixed the ingredients. Mix the pixy stickssss, mix 'em up goooood. Random songs and chants filled his head.
After all the mixing was done, the result looked more like... a green-ish, yellow-ish... thing. Hmm. Well whatever, time to pour it in the cauldron. Going back to the cauldron, he slowly poured in the all of the content in the mortar and smiled. YAY. What he expected was the potion to turn either green or yellow, but instead... it turned darker.
Like. Whut. So dark it was either the DARKEST red evar or it was black. He didn't know. Hm. Maybe it was SUPPOSE to do that. Probably. "Stir clockwise...ooh...FOR 10 MINUTES?" Cam's arm WAS gonna die. Stirring for 10 minutes non-stop was gonna be... oh if they had to amputate it off of him...
Cam started with the stirring, sighing every minute and now and then. His arms hurt. Was he a freak for doing all of this trouble just for another gold star? Hmm. He just thought gold stars looked cool above his head. It was like a crown. He felt like he was from ROOOYALTY. Stir stir stirrrrrr. And then the 10th minute. YAY. So his arm went officially dead, yup, but at least it was done!
"Still blaaaccckk."
He re-read the instructions again. It wasn't like he did anything wrong... huh. Weeeeeeird. Maybe black was the new yellow/orange/any other bright happy looking colors? Eh probably. "Hmm. I think I'm done." Wait. Nope. One last step. And it included stirring. If his hand had to be amputated... WELL IT WAS FOR THE GOOD OF THE GOLD STARS. Says I hafta stop the fire and stir again.
Yay for no more fires! And he hadn't even BURNED himself. Cam smirked and proceeded to get rid of the flames, and then started stirring clockwise for about 3 minutes. Hohohoho. The black was turning lighter. OMG. Maybe it could turn into orange. It was nonetheless, his favorite color. Instead, it turned gray. Dark gray. IT LOOKED SO EMOTIONLESSSS. Cam looked back in the book he'd gotten from the shelves and read.
It said it was suppose to be light gray--the finish result. Maybe the additional ingredients made it darker? Errrrr. Cam read more and read that it'd only last for a week? A WEEEK? THAT'S IT? The professor did mention something about flobberworm mucus earlier. He sniffed at the cauldron. Smelled...INTENSE. Cam got to his Potions Plan journal and wrote the stuff down.

* Emotionally Altering * Behaviorally Altering
I mixed all of them with the mortar the alihotsy leaves were in. Grinded and crushed again for about 3-5 minutes or so until I poured 'em down the cauldron. Expected bright color to show up, though color only turned to black or the darkest red ever. Stirred for 10 minutes, color stayed the same. Remove from fire and stir clockwise for 3 minutes *always use dominant hand when stirring even if your hand's about to fall off
I got rid of the fire and stirred. Color turned brighter, by a TEENSYWEENSY bit. Current color is dark gray. Smells quite intense, a bit herb-y from the ingredients, spicy-ish even.
Side Notes:
Will only last for a week (though could lengthen it up by using Flobberworm mucus)
Grabbing a phial, he used it to scoop up his potion and closed it. "Done!" he said quite happily and then raised his hand up, "Oooh professah, I'm done!" He placed the phial next to the cauldron and labeled it.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Currently: Diane Entelequia
Second Year
Diane had been stalling for some time now. She almost looked depressed with her quill ghostling over the journal paper. She appeared to lack the instinct or the ambition to think of these, why was that. Quite honestly, she was stumped by her own lack of creativity. She was passive as hell and swept over by the circumstances beyond her control. It was extremely frustrating a realization. Diane thought, she could have the world on the palm of her hand and she wouldn't know what to do with it. And all this for a silly potion...

Your House: Slytherin
Your Year: First
Type of Potion you are Making: Smell-less or Undetectable Draft (Physically Altering)
Intent: Eliminate sweat, breath and other body functions that may give away magical nature or corporeal presence.
Diane brandished the journal like a wand to show the professor before going on, but she had the kind of look that could only be described as concerned.
"Could you give me your opinion, professor," she said. "The most unexperienced of us can feel magic, such as hairs that stand on end at the back of our head, when there's powerful magic around. My theory is that's an effect of smell, even if not on the most traditional sense. For example, hounds can very well tell where you have been with a sniff, some times with as much accurancy as there can possibly be... Say, like with Seers or Pensive memories; their instincts are similar, in way."
Her distant eyes returned to the professor and she was bright and alert when saying, "I should need to know what a Dark Magic Detector works like; if you happen to have one, it would be most helpful."

Krizza couldn't think of anything to do with her potion. So she thought she can just try on Daniel's potion. Well, at least her potion's almost done.

Cela had been reading like mad and taking notes, she used the methods of existing potions and cross-referenced ingredients that should do what she intended and came up with a potion and a plan. She read some of the extra notes that her brother had added by one of the more sensitive ingredients.
One leaf ingested will cause delirium. More than four leaves will cause the subject to fall into a deep and dreamless sleep, often resulting in death in less than 24 hours if further treatment is not sought. Generally the plant is used externally, but to harness the beneficial characteristics in a potion which is to be ingested without causing a toxic reaction, the plant may be burned and the smoke or the ash applied to the potion for a time.
Hmmm. She kept reading and made a few adjustments.

POTIONS PLAN
Name: Celandine Elodie Toussaint
House: Ravenclaw
Year: 4th
Type of Potion being made: Slow-mo solution
Behaviourally altering
Intent: To serve as a muscle relaxant and a physical calming draught rather than a mental one. It could be used on violent people, or on people who need to keep their heart rate low by not moving too much. It will be kind of like the Impediment jinx in potion form.
Ingredients:
1000 ml Water
150ml Aloe Vera Juice
5 Fluxweed oil
Chamomile plant with 6 flowers, whole
1 Ginger root, sliced
100ml Lavender oil
150ml Cucumber juice
Henbane smoke (Burn ONE fresh leaf, the smoke should be captured and the jar should be sealed until it is required.)
1 Valerian root, minced
1 skullcap leaf
1 Hyacinth flower, whole
3 drops glumbumble fluid
100 mls of leech juice
Process:
Add the Aloe juice to 500mls cold water and warm both on a low heat. Add 5 drops of Fluxweed oil and the sliced ginger root. Do not stir. Drop the Chamomile flower heads in in and keep the roots and stalks aside.
Seperately combine the minced Valerian root, the glumbumble fluid and lavender oil and leave to sit.
Turn the heat up gradually and begin stirring clockwise until the cauldron is boiling. Add the skullcap leaf and Hyacinth flower to the cauldron whole and alternate stirring to two clockwise and one anti-clockwise stir, being sure to do so slowly. Lower the heat.
Add the roots and stalks from the chamomile plant to the cauldron and stop stirring. Expose the potion to Henbane smoke and seal it for 10 minutes.
Add the cucumber juice to the second mixture and add to the cauldron, reseal the cauldron without stirring and let it sit for a further five minutes.
Let the henbane smoke dissipate safely and add the leech juice. Stir slowly until the potion thickens. Add 500 mls of water and reduce mixture to half volume. Let cool and decant into a flask.
Of course, the process was just a plan, based on other potions and the notes in her book; Cela certainly wasn't sure of these things on her own.
She raised her hand, "Professor Kazimeriz, can you please check mine?"

Chris looked up to Professor Kazimeriz and asked. "Professor, Im finished and does my Anti-Love Potion look correct to you sir?" he wondered who would have to taste it.
While he waited, Chris looked down at his now updated Potion plan that contained his side-notes.
As he asked the Professor about the potion he corked some in a phial and added a label to it saying:
and place it on his desk.
Kazimeriz walked over to the boy, taking the phial and holding it up. He opened it and waved it under his nose, closing his eyes as he analyzed it. "Excellent-- it looks as though you've built an interesting all around delusting and general romantic apathy potion. For remember, the opposite of love is NOT hate -- it is apathy." He don't want any trouble happening to anybody. Especially to a newly brewed potion that is done as an experiment by a 4th year student.

Items colored will keep up to one hour only
Kazimeriz walked over by Miss Noir, glancing down at her journal. "Interesting. Perhaps Mr. Kaiser will be interested in being your test subject, to see if your little experiment leaves him feeling... in the pink?" He eyed the ingredients, his eyebrows going up as he read one of them. Uhoh. If Kaiser drinks that, he's likely going to be QUITE pink for some time to come. he thought, grinning inwardly. "Kaiser? Care to assist Miss Noir once she is done?" he asked.

Kazimeriz regarded the girl for a moment, looking at her in a new and curious light. "An interesting theory, Miss Entelequia. And indeed, magical traces are detectable in the way a scent is, though as you said, it is not literally a scent that can be perceived so much as it is a.. well, for lack of a better word, an aura. Perhaps you have heard of The Trace, which is a charm placed on underaged wizards so the Ministry can track improper use of magic that is banned under the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery? It operates on a similar principle, in that it detects that aura of magical activity and energy around a central individual -- in that case, all underaged wizards and witches are the central individuals who are so marked, though it has been used in law enforcement as a condition of probation as well in some cases."
He paused, smirking. "A potion to remove the trace is something that ...well, let us just say that those familiar with the shops of Knockturn Alley may have had the opportunity to buy such a thing for their youths or loved ones on parole..."And just where have you been shopping, young miss? What is your story, that this would be the plan most interesting to you...? he wondered, intrigued. He summoned a small orb that appeared to be glass and resembled a busy little plasma ball. Arms of contained lightning radiated in each direction, as if trying to point to each student in the class at varying degrees of intensity and action, but all were contained within the ball's surface. The strongest bolt of contained lightning pointed toward the professor himself.
"You will need this for your experiment; please take care of it as it is a quite valuable Auror's tool. It is a portable Tracer; this one is set to seek all magical activity at the moment, not just that of underaged wizards or felons. As such, the rays are drawn toward the magical energy of each student in the room, and myself, of course." he chuckled. "Once your potion is brewed, you need only find a vic- volunteer to test your draught. If it is successful, the ray of magical energy leading toward that student will vanish temporarily, if your potion makes their magical energy unTraceable. Is this what you had in mind?"

Clean mortar and pestle.
Crush the small root of Valerian Root with mortar and pestle.
Clean again.
Add 3ml of Armadillo Bile to a vial and close the cap.

Grr, this potion making thing was harder than he thought. Good thing he didn't have to worry about cleaning his cauldron again, having done it previously before arriving at the lesson. Looking around he gulped as he saw some people already finished their potions, letting others try them out. He didn't think his was nearly good enough though, there was one ingredient he was missing and for the life of him he couldn't find out which one it was. Sighing he put his hand in the air, "Professor, there's one ingredient missing from my potion I think. I can't quite figure it out. Perhaps you could take a look at it for me? I think it's a frozen Ashwinder Egg I need but I'm not sure." He asked in his nicest, most innocent voice. If Kazimeriz could tell which ingredient was missing, then he'd be able to write it down, make the potion and be done with it.
