Daniel entered the Observatory and looked around. Yes, he is the first person in... He then proceeded towards the front and sat at the table near the Professor's. He would have said Good day Professor but there is a large note on the board that says, No talking!. So he just smiled and waved at the Professor and sat readily.
He then looked at the ingredients in front of him. Quote:

Daniel sighed and pulled a pair of gloves from his back pack. It is laboratory after all. He put it on him. He doesn't want to get scalded or anything, because he saw dry ice on the ingredients.
He then raised his hands, "Professor? Can I start now or should we still wait for the others?" he said. He was excited to start. After all, it is the first time he would do experiments.
Daniel nodded at what the Professor said. So, after placing the gloves on. He then slipped a goggle on to for further protection. He then looked at the instructions on the board. 1. Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl.
2. Place water in mixing bowl.
3. Add sand or dirt, stirring well.
4. Add dash of ammonia.
5. Add dash of organic material stirring until well mixed.
6. Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been place inside each other.
Be sure to wear gloves while handling dry ice to keep from being burned. - If I find someone NOT using the work gloves, they will immediately lose 15 House Points and be put into detention. Even if they burn themselves by not using the gloves, punishment will STILL be given.

4. 10. Use gloves - Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball.
5. 11. Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape.
6. 12. Place the comet on a paper plate.
He grabbed a mixing bowl and a garbage bag. Then with the help of a scissors he cuts the end and side of it to line it in his mixing bowl. He then filled the bowl with water and added some sand on then he stirred it for about a minute or so, or at least to his contentment.
He then added a dash of ammonia and a dash of organic material and then continued to stir until he thinks that the ingredients are well mixed.
Then with 3 garbage bags ready and his proper attire in place, that is his gloves, he puts dry ice on the garbage bags that he had prepared and grabbed his hammer. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang
Daniel hammered the dry ice until he felt no lumps or large pieces. When he had satisfied his craving for hammering he took out the crushed dry ice and mixed it with the sand-ammonia-organic material-water mixture he had mixed earlier.
He then stirred and stirred until his arms can't almost stir the material. This must mean that I must start shaping my comet. He looked and saw that it was almost frozen. So Daniel lifts it up and shapes it like a snowball, as per instruction. Daniel was a good snow ball maker. After all, where he lived as a child, snow was like everywhere.
He grabbed the almost frozen materials and mold then gently until it totally froze. He then unwraps it from the plastic bag and placed it in a paper plate.
Daniel stands back and looked at his creation. And he smiled for he thinks it is good.

Victoria walked up the stairs towards the observatory, she was nervous about entering because last time, she got detention. She nervously knocked on the door.
"Sorry professor!" she slowly walked in the lab, she used to love chemistry back in the muggle world.
Victoria walked to the desk and looked at the board, she read the first line and started to cut one of the garbage bags.
She lined the bottom of her mixing bowl and place water in the mixing bowl, she added the sand and started to stir it.
Victoria added the dash of ammonia which smelled like wee and then added a dash of organic material which smelt worse. She put on the gloves and picked up the dry ice in the garbage bags so she can crush it.
Victoria put on the googles and started to crush the dry ice which made a lot of noise but she could take her angry out of it. She then picked it out and put it in with the other ingredients and started to stir virgorously.
Soon her mixture was almost totally frozen, she use her gloves to help her lift her comet out of the bowl so she could shape it.
She used the bag to shape her comet, she unwrapped it when it was frozen and she then used her gloves to put it on the paper plate.
Victoria waited for the professor to have a look at her comet and wondered what they will do with them.

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself. Entering the room, Lyra noticed that she wasn't the first one.
Seeing a Gryffindor who had already put on his gloves and was now almost jumping to get started, and a Ravenclaw, the same one that had entered the observatory Slytherin's dormitory. 'ironic' she thought and wanted to say Hi to them. She had opened her mouth but then her eyes saw the sign with 'No talking!' on it and she quickly closed it, instead she gave a small nodd towards them and smiled at the professor while sitting down on a chair, and looked at the ingredients on the table. Looking up again to read the Board for instructions and read that you needed gloves. 'figures' she thought and grabbed her bag, pulled out her gloves and put them on. Looking around quickly she noticed Grace's grin and grinned back at her and turned back around.
Letting out a deep Siiiiigh, Lyra grabbed the goggles and placed it over her eyes , she glanced at the board at the front of the class to read the first instruction.
Looking at the table again she grabbed a garbage bag, cut it open , placed the mixing bowl in front of her and used the bag to line the bowl. ' Ok, this was going good... she hoped, and started to read the second rule. 'Water in the bowl?' uuuh ok... she scanned the table looking for water 'where is it?...oh there!' she thought but finally found the water and poured it in the bowl.
Next Lyra grabbed the spoonful sand (cause dirt is yucky) and placed it in the bowl , she grabbed the wooden spoon and started to stir. Lyra carefully read the fourth instruction, add a dash of ammonia.
She grabbed the ammonia and covered her nose with her hand, Merlins beard! that smelled aweful! . trying not to puke (or faint..) she did a dash in it.
after reading step five she grabbed the syrup and placed a dash of it in the bowl too.
Grabbing the three garbage bags for step 6 she grabbed the dry ice and placed them in it (she already had the gloves on at the beginning of the lesson)
7! the FUN part!! Lyra was hoping to get to this part soon! , grabbing the hammer at the left side of the table she started to SMASH! SMASH SMASH! oooh yea Lyra deffinetly enjoined this part, it was like smashing stress away with each blow , she kept on smashing the dry-ice till it was in tiny pieces.
Reading the next instruction, a little dissapointed the Smashing! was over so quickly, she grabbed the wooden spoon and started to stir the insides of the bowl, while stiring she grabbed the dry-ice using her gloves and dropped it in the bowl carefully .
she kept stirring and stirring and stirring, (till her hand started to get tired) and watched as the mixure started to froze.
Lyra pulled out the frozen...comet and started to shape it into a ball.
Smiling to herself she carefully wrapped off the plastic bag and the comet didn't fall apart! Yay! Reading the last of the instructions she grabbed the paper plate , placed her ball on it and waited.

ooc: seriously, people. Just start RPing. I'm not going to post "Forrester started class" because....he has everything you need -including the work gloves - on the tables. Thus, when you enter....the lab has started. As it says on Forrester's board "Come in and get to work"

| ♥ Mrs. Itachi Uchiha™ & MAJNOO! : Bleach & Kyo & Natsume ♥ [ Maxh!Jesh ] Astronomy, whheee!
After having entered and wished Professor Forrester a good day, Fyo had now found himself a cosy sorta spot to work in. He had his gloves with him, of course, and he wondered if he should wear them now, or later, when he started the work involving the dry ice.
Hokai. So the ingredients. They were all there, so YAY! Fyo made himself comfortable, and got down to work. Taking a medium-sized plastic bag, the young Gryffindor cut it open they way they had been instructed to, and began to line his mixing bowl. So far, so good. Plastic bag lining - Done.
Yes, TADA! Fyo's ShinyPretty mixing bowl was now all lined up with once-plastic bag. YAY! The Gryffindor was already finding this fun, partly because he knew he would have to work with sand, in a bit. And Fyo LOVED sand - it was just, had always been, one of his obsessions. And one sheer obsession at that, too. Place water in mixing bowl.
Yup, now for the water. They had to use about two cups of that, right? Fyo shifted the large mixing bowl a little, just to make sure that the water did not spill when he poured it in and, very carefully, did what he was supposed to do. Which was placing water in his mixing bowl, obviously.
He looked up again, and squinted at the instructions. Had to check an instant grin, too, the moment he read those. Because it was the turn of THE SAND! Ohmyogsh, YAY, sannndd! SAND, people, SAND, I tell ya. Remembering the Sandbox and being Mr. Sand Monster and all, he almost felt like saying "RAWR!" out loud, Fyo did.
[No, he did nothing of that sort.] Add sand or dirt, stirring well.
This was going to be SUCH fun!
Fyo had only paused for a moment after reading instruction number three, and he literally BEAMED to himself as he grabbed at the sand. Two bad it was just a couple of spoonfuls. Otherwise, he would have ATE it. Well, OK, so maybe not ate - because, you know, that was what annoying, little KIDS did and all - but still added it to his brand new perfume, and worn that. [The perfume with the sand in it, not the sand itself.]
Because, you know, sand was just so.. sweet-smelling.
Sorta, anyway.
He refrained himself from SMELLING the sand with difficulty, trying to stop wondering how it would feel to have sand in his SOCKS [he was so going to try that out the moment the lesson was over, and he could go back to his common room] as he added two spoonfuls of sand to the water, and took up the big, wooden SPOON OF DOOM! to stir the whole thing.
And now the sand was wet.
And Fyo didn't like wet sand, no sirreee.
Waiitttt..
HECK, it smelled SO GOOD! Add dash of ammonia.
Hokai. On to that, now. Still looking pretty happy from the two spoonfuls of sand [not to mention the big, wooden SPOON OF DOOM!] Fyo dropped in the required amount of ammonia - Hey, was it just him, or did the ammonia really smell like ozone? - before looking up at the board, once more. Add dash of organic material stirring until well mixed.
YAY for organic material! Waitttt, what was organic material, anyway? Fyo wondered if it was something that resembled sand, before deciding it might not necessarily feel good in his socks, and then realizing [with a little BANG! going off in his imagination, the kind accompanied by SHINY! little stars and Neptunes and stuff] that the term meant the dark corn syrup thingy.
Dark corn syrup. Riiight. Fyo added a dash of it to his mixing bowl, taking up the SPOON OF DOOM! again, and beginning to thoroughly stir the mixture.
Yay, yay Astronomy! Dry ice.
The thing that Fyo loved most after sand, at least among the things they were supposed to use make their comet of DOOM! [no, it was not related to the SPOON OF DOOM!]. He didn't know why - why he loved the dry ice, that is - but he thought it might be because he liked dry sand. And dry ice kinda sounded like dry sand, right?
Riiiighhttt. Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been place inside each other.
Time for the work gloves. Fyo pulled them out of one of the front pockets of his school-robes and, slipping his hands into the SHINEHH! things, grabbed hold of his remaining three plastic bags. What was he supposed to do, again? Oh yeah, place them inside each other. He did that, with absolute ease [well, it wasn't anything really difficult, you know], and then carefully placed the dry ice inside them.
Yay, one more stop down; only, like, a gazillion more to go! Crush dry ice by pounding it with a hammer.
Hammer? Fyo didn't like hammers, no. Still, he guessed the thing would have to be done - no way out of it if he wanted to make his SHINNYY! comet, y'know. He frowned slightly, then checked his expressions and picked up the hammer.
What was he supposed to do with it, again?
Crush the dry ice, yes. But that was in the plastic, garbage bags, wasn't it? Wouldn't the hammer, like, DAMAGE the bags? Oh well, Professor Forrester knew best. And so Fyo broke the thing - the dry ice, that is - up with a few, quick thwacks, taking his time to crush it all. Whew, this was tough.
Mostly because he didn't like hammers, though. Only five steps left. YAY! Add the dry ice to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl while stirring vigorously.
No more hammer? AWESOME! And more of the dry ice and the SPOON OF DOOM! too. This had to be Fyo's lucky day, it just had to be, I tell ya. His lucky lesson-of-the-week, at any rate. So.. Bacckkk to the dry ice!
[And the SPOON OF DOOM! obviously.]
Fyo checked his [shiny] work gloves, to make sure they still properly covered his hands, and added the now-crushed dry ice to the other ingredients in the mixing bowl. The mixture inside now looked pretty odd, a thing of ammonia and plastic lining and.. SAND! Calm down, Balouch.
Yes. Calm down, that was it. Fyo took a deep breath, and picked up the pretty, wooden SPOON OF DOOM!, bending slightly over the large, mixing bowl as he began to stir, the way they had been instructed to.
- That is to say, pretty vigorously. Continue stirring until mixture is almost totally frozen.
Hokai. Fyo continued to stir, happy at the fact that he was going to be able to use the SPOON OF DOOM! for the next few minutes, and struggling to keep back a grin. [He managed to, you know but, in all that struggle, the expression dominant on his face came off looking rather.. pained.]
- Which was totally not how he felt, y'know.
The stuff in the mixing bowl were definitely beginning to freeze, now. Fyo stirred on, calming down a little and wondering how long it would take. Not that long, he soon saw, as the mixture began to become kinda.. solid. And frozen, of course. Because that was the whole point of the stirring, wasn't it? Freezing the thing, I mean.
Now, what was next? Backkk to the instructions. Nine steps down, three to go!
Now that the mixture in the rather large bowl was all frozen, Fyo was ready to move on to the next bit. He looked up at the board, clearly in a good mood, and went over the instructions once more. Use gloves - Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball.
He had those gloves, alright. Fyo did as they were supposed to, using the plastic garbage-bad to lift out the comet. Which comet didn't exactly look like a comet, at the moment, you know. He inspected it for several seconds, wondering how it would turn out in the end and then, realizing that he was wasting precious time, began to mould it.
It wasn't exactly a snowball, so he wasn't exactly moulding it the way he would a snowball, but the two things seemed pretty close nevertheless. Fyo gave his comet a tiny smile as he shaped it, momentarily looking up to see how everyone else was doing.
Hmm, he was nearly finished, now. Mould, mould, mould.
The snowball - err, comet - was coming along fine, now. Fyo gave it a few more touches here and there, trying to make it the shape he thought a "perfect" comet would be, and finding the whole activity a fun sort of fun. Which was fun, you know.
The comet was doing its part at being good and non-fidgety, and letting him mould it, and Fyo was glad of that. He waited a few moments after he was sure the thing was the shape he wanted it to be, refraining himself from rolling it in his hands, the way those cook guys roll chappati bread and all. He tapped his foot, sort of soundlessly, on the floor, wondering how long it would take to settle into its new shape.
- The comet, not hisfoot. Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape. Once Fyo was sure the comet in question had pretty permanently taken on the shape he had been working on giving it, he pulled on his work gloves tighter, and lifted the thing out of the large, mixing bowl. It was, obviously, all packed up and so, with great care, the young Gryffindor began to unwrap it.
It was all pretty much done, now.
Whhheeeeee!

Chris Potter was sitting in the lab in the Astronomy Tower and was looking down at all the equipment and items in front of him. He looked toward the board and read the directions two times to be sure he understood all rules and safetly precautions before he began. 'This is going to be fun.' he thought to himself.
First things first, Chris grabbed the goggles and placed them over his eyes. He didnt want anything to get in them while he worked. Next he put on the durable work gloves. Now he could begin.
Chris grabbed the large mixing bowl and brought it to the center of the table in front of him. He then took a a trash bag and cut it open and placed it as a lining for the bowl. Looking up at the board for the next step, he took the two cups of water and then poured them into the garbage bag-lined bowl. Chris then took the spoon on the table and measured out two spoonfuls of the sand from its little container, and dropped it in the mixing bowl. He then stirred it for a minute or so.
Next Chris did a dash of Ammonia and a dash of the organinc material, a dark brown syrup of some sort. And he sturred the concoction again. After he was finished stirring Chris moved the mixing bowl full of ingrediants to the side and opened up the Ice Chest full of dry ice. He then placed the dry ice in the three garbage bags that were placed inside each other with his gloved hands.
Chris then put the many layered garbage bag of dry ice on the table and picked up the hammer. 'Im going to enjoy this.' he thought with a smile.
"BANG, BANG, BANG!" the sounds of the hammer on the ice were pretty loud.
After chris hand finished breaking the ice. (Which was quite therapeutic and help him calm his nerves a bit.) He carefully opened the bag and dumped the crushed dry ice into the mixing bowl, and began to stir quickly. it was a lot harder to stir now with ice in it. He stirred it vigorously until the strange mixture had became almost frozen solid.
Chris then lifted the 'comet' out of the bowl with a plastic bag. He placed it on the table with some paper towels and the plastic bag so he would make a mess and began to shape it into a ball. After he had worked it into its shape and it was now competely solid and firm into it's shape Chris unwrapped it and placed it on a paper plate. He was finished.
He then cleaned up the area, wiping the table top with the paper towels and organized the items back to the way they were when he got there. He placed his finished Comet in the middle of the clean table for the Professor to see.

After making her way to the table and getting into a good position to work, Anna took the time to carefully read the instructions and study the material laid out in front of her. Noticing that the professor stressed the wearing of gloves during the this lab, Anna reached down into her bag and took out her own pair. Hmm...should she put them on now, or should she wait until she handled the dry ice? Knowing that she could still work properly with all the other materials even with the gloves on, she went ahead and took care of that step and slid both gloves on. Better to safe than sorry.
Alright, now for step one. Anna grabbed one garbage bag off the table and began to cut it open. When she was sure that she'd cut it well enough to properly line her mixing bowl, Anna started work on the actual lining. Dealing with ingredients such as these could be very tricky, so she made sure that her lining completely covered the necessary parts of the large mixing bowl. When that was done, Anna glanced up and referred to the instructions to see what she was to do next. She retrieved the two cups of water and carefully poured them into the mixing bowl. Hmm...two steps down, many to go.
With the first two steps down, Anna was now ready to begin on the third step of the process. She glanced back up at the instructions on the board and carefully read the directions for steps three and four. Ready to begin working again, Anna grabbed two spoonfuls of sand and began to carefully stir. As she stirred, she monitored to ensure she wasn't spilling any of the ingredients. It wouldn't do to destroy the floor or make a mess. When she was sure she'd stirred the sand enough, Anna retrieved a dash of ammonia and added it to the mixture, as well. Hmm...this wasn't too difficult to do. Hopefully the remainder of the lab activity would proceed just as smoothly. Four steps down...
Ready to begin on the next few steps, Anna once again let her eyes travel to the board in the front of the classroom. Add dash of organic material, stirring until well mixed. Organic material...organic material...hmm... Spotting the dark liquid in a far corner of the table, Anna picked it up and measured an appropriate 'dash'. She added it to her mixture, then set about stirring once again. The whole process was actually coming along quite nicely, even though Anna half-expected to make some sort of minor error at one point and time. Hopefully if she kept a careful watch on things, that wouldn't happen, though.
When she'd stirred enough, Anna stopped and glanced back up at the board. Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been placed inside each other. Alright, so now it was time to deal with that dry ice they'd all been warned to wear gloves for. Checking to make sure her gloves were securely on, Anna retrieved three garbage bags and put one inside the other until she had all three together as one. Lifting the lid of the ice chest, Anna grabbed two cups of dry ice, then placed them in the combined bags. With that, the first six steps were now done.
Picking up a nearby hammer, Anna raised it into the air and began to pound on the dry ice inside the garbage bags. It was a good thing she was wearing a pair of goggles, for the hammer was hitting the bags of ice pretty hard. She didn't even want to think about what would happen if pieces of that dry ice flew up into someone's eye. Ouch.
Once she was sure she'd pounded enough, Anna put the hammer back on the table and added the dry ice to the mixture inside the bowl. Picking up the spoon, Anna began to stir vigorously, watching and waiting for her mixture to freeze over. After a while, the mixture began to harden into a nice, solid, frozen mix.
Anna placed the spoon back on the table and checked to make sure her gloves were still securely on her hands. With that done, she reached down and lifted the comet, along with the plastic bag, out of the bowl. With her gloved hands, Anna began to work with the comet to get it shaped as perfectly as she could. Had she not been in an Astronomy lab and wearing goggles and gloves, she'd have almost imagined herself outside building a snowman or something of the sort.
When the comet was finally shaped so that it would sufficiently hold, Anna unwrapped it and placed it on her paper plate. She watched it for a few moments, smiling at all her hard work. While she waited for the professor to give them any possible extra directions, Anna began to clean up parts of her worktable.

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Grace walked in the Lab. She was still sorry she had missed the first lesson so she was determined to do her best in this. She politely smiled to professor and took a table. She saw Lyra and grinned at her, but she was careful with making no noise at all. She saw a few people working with gloves and she figured she needed too. She wore them on and read all the instructions twice. 'Okay... Think I can do that...' she thought and started to work.
She cut a bag and lined the mixing bowl, then put water in it. The sentence 'This is fun!' was forming in her brain. Getting more happily with each moment, she reached for sand. Now, her favourite part--mixing. But before it, she out on her goggles too, just in case. She stirred the bowl fastly as she watched the movements of ingredients. 'Now, ammonia and organic material.' Grace searched for them on her desk, but she couldn't find. She was about to ask when her hand touched something, ammonia and dark corn syrup. She smiled to herself and added them to her mixture--or at least that was her intent. The ammonia gave a very strong unpleasant smell. She wrinkled up her nose in disgust and tried to ignore it. No, it wasn't working. Her nose was too sensitive to smells. She put up her right hand to cover her nose and added the right amount of syrup. But for stirring, she needed her both hands. She just watched for some time the bowl and encouraged herself mentally. Taking some deep breaths through her mouth, she held the bowl with both hands and stirred it quickly. She eyed it. It was mixed, at least to her eyes. 'That was challenging...' she thought to herself. 'Now, two steps down. Probably the worst two steps.' No explosions or anything so far. Grace was going fine, to her surprise. She read the next instruction more carefully now that she was in the middle of the work and didn't want to mess up the rest. She held dry ice up and put it in 3 bags. Now, crushing it. She took the hammer and hit, hit, hit with loud bang!s. She examined the crushed ice. Her crushing process seemed enough. Still no explosions. But she was very nervous that she'd done a mistake.
Next step, adding the dry ice to rest and stir vigorously. Grace liked stirring, but her hands were starting to ache. Sigh, she was such a baby. She shook her head to clear it and started stirring frantically while wondering how long it'd take to freeze. Stir, stir, stir! Grace's hands felt very heavy after that vigorous stirring. When the comet finally started to harden, Grace checked her gloves to see if they abraded --to her surprise, they didn't-- and she lifted it out of the bowl. For her hands' sake, she waited for some minutes and watched the others, wondering if the potions'd be like this lesson.
After three minutes, she decided she'd wasted enough time for her hands and started to shape the comet. It'd be an interesting thing, she could say. --Still no injuries or anything.-- She was about to finish. Yay!
Okay, the comet was fully frozen now. Grace unwrapped it and checked her work. Wow. It looked pretty to her eyes. She placed it on a plate and watched the others as she waited for professor to come. One last glance at the board to see if she skipped any instruction. A big relief, she didn't. It was done without any injuries. Phew!

| The Kisapaths | Sila!Roti | -2 | TouchableHair | ToiletPaperGuy | QueenOfConfusion Nancy had slowly dragged herself up the many steps which led to the Astronomy Tower which once used to be their "Common Room". Upon arriving at the top and quickly striding over to where the Astronomy Lesson was going to be held the 14 year old stopped for a moment to take in the recently changed observatory. It looked so different, and not only did it not look like it used to during its "Common Room"-use but it also did not look the way it used to before the whole flooding incident. Now, it looked more like, yes, more like a lab or something. With all those thingies on each desk...
Nancy finally entered the observatory completely, a rather confused look plastered across her face, and as usual opened her mouth to greet Professor Forrester. This time, though, no sound came out as it almost immediately closed again, her lips now forming an understanding, though silent, "Oh" as she read through the instructions on the board behind the professor. A small smile crept across her lips as instead gave the professor a cheerful nod while walking up to a free desk to start this experiment, or whatever it was. This was definitely going to be interesting...
Narrowing her eyes as she read through the first few instructions carefully Nancy quickly searched for the first things she would be needing to start the assignment. Garbage bag...garbage bag... Ah! There they were! Right at that moment as she was reaching for one of the garbage bags and the mixing bowl Nancy's eyes fell on something which looked like somekind of glasses. Upon closer examinations she recognized the thing as goggles, something to protect one's eyes against...something. Even though, she was not completely sure whether they were supposed to wear them she carefully put them over her eyes nonetheless, now looking more like somekind of crazy scientist than a normal 14 year old Slytherin student. Niiice...
Now back to work. Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl. Weelll, technically they weren't allowed to talk so she wouldn't be able to cast Diffindo on one of the garbage bags, would she? Should she just rip parts of the bag? Or was she allowed to cast the spell nonetheless? With a rather unsure glance towards Professor Forrester Nancy pointed her wand at one of the garbage bags in front of her and quietly muttered, "Diffindo". As she carefully cut the garbage bag until she was able to properly line her mixing bowl with it she kept on glancing at the professor to see a reaction to her "breaking" the no-talking-rule.
After having poured the two cups of water into her mixing bowl Nancy looked back up to read the next few lines of the instructions for this experiment. Add sand or dirt, stirring well. Ew! Okay, she was so not going to touch that dirt on her table with her bare hands, and especially not that ammonia-thingy. She therefore quickly put on her gloves already before grabbing the wooden spoon with her left hand and the dirt with her right, and as she slowly added the dirt her left hand holding the spoon did circle-like movements to stir the water plus the dirt in it. It continued to do that as she first added the ammonia, and then the organic material lying on her desk. Round, and round, and round, and round...
Her left arm was slowly getting rather numb and her eyes were already half-closed due to the boring, monotone movement until all of a sudden the opened again with a start as Nancy heard a quiet Splash!. Oops... Now there was a tiny little puddle next to her feet where she'd accidently splashed a bit of her water with the wooden spoon. Hopefully Professor Forrester wouldn't say anything...the floor wasn't even wet. Much. Cough... Now, put the mixing bowl aside to work with the dry ice next. Giving Mariel who had taken a seat beside hers a small shrug Nancy decided to just leave the little puddle on the floor and continue with the experiment. One garbage bag, two garbage bags, three garbage bags. Nancy now placed the rest of the garbage bags inside each other before grabbing the ice chest containing the dry ice and putting its contents into her three-layered garbage bag. Now to the best part of the experiment: The crushing of the ice! Yaaayy!! A smirk made its way onto her lips as Nancy reached out for the HAMMER! This was going to be just great. Hehe... Bang! Bang! Bang! Nancy beat the ice as hardly as she could, her smirk growing broader and broader at every impact the hammer made with the wrapped dry ice. It felt sooooo good to just get rid of all the frustration and annoyance that had been building up inside her. A quick glance at her Ravenclaw friend made the corner of her lips curl up even further forming an even broader smirk, as, judging by the look on Mariel's face and the force with which she as well beat the dry ice, she had just as much fun with this task as she did. Bang! Bang! Bang!
It was only then that Nancy actually moved her eyes to the thing she was currently beating which now looked more like white-ish wet crumbles of something. Well, that was what it was supposed to look like after the crush dry ice-part, right? Maybe it wasn't supposed to be that pulverized but whatever...Next step was to add it to the rest inside her mixing bowl and then...No! start stirring again... One thousand four hundred thirty six... One thousand four hundred thirty seven...
At least it felt like that when Nancy finally with an exasperated sigh dropped the wooden spoon onto the table and started rubbing her wrist which had got quite numb due to all that stirring. Ouch! Well, at least the mixture was now completely frozen like it was supposed to. Now to the next part of the instructions: Use gloves Well, she was wearing those already. Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball. Oh,, that was nice. She was rather good at shaping snowballs, and no there was no specific reason for that. Cough... Grabbing a plastic bag with her left hand, as the right one was still pretty numb, Nancy carefully took her mixed thingy out of the mixing bowl and started forming a round ball-like shape.
As soon as she was more or less content with the shape of her "comet" the 14 year old waited for a few moments until she was sure that it was sufficiently frozen and would not just fall apart again. With a look of pure excitement plastered across her face Nancy now very slowly unwrapped the comet and, as she had no hands free for doing it, moved the paper plate with her elbow towards her so she was able to place her new "comet" onto it. Nancy grinned broadly as she nudged Mariel softly, nodding towards both her and her friend's finished work. They'd done really well in Nancy's opinion.

Herminny walked into the Observatory for a lab, wow, this was certainly different. She looked on the board and saw the instructions and supply list and a table full of supplies. Herminny swiftly picked up her supplies and brought them to a table. Herminny then proceeded to get to work:
1: Herminny cut open one garbage bag and used it to aline her mixing bowl
2: Herminny looked on the board then followd the instruction and placed the water from the two cups in the mixing bowl
3: Herminny looked on the board and added the sand from her supplies and stirred it well as specified.
4: Herminny l added just a dash of amonia as specified in the instructions
5: Herminny looked on the board then added a dash of organic material as stated to the mixture starting to wonder what was she trying to make.
Herminny put the gloves on as specified on the board becase she did'nt want to get burned by the dry ice and certainly did'nt want detention
6: Herminny then did the instruction of placing the dry ice in the three garbage bags placed together as it was wrtitten
7: Herminny then looked on the board and then picked up the hammer and started pounding the dry ice till it was crushed.
8&9: Herminny then added the dry ice to the mix and stirred vigorously till it was mixed to her liking and almost completely frozen
10: Herminny then saw the instructions said to do a little art of of shaping the mixture into a comet and smiled as she did so.
11: As soon as the mixture dryed she placed her comet on the paper as specified
The instructions did not state she could leave when she was done so she sat and waited watching her classmates do the lab.

Mariel stepped into the observatory for Astronomy class, immediately noticing a change in the room. Appearing to be set up for some sort of practical lesson, she thought as she noted how interesting today's class would probably be. Glancing up at the instructions on the board as she made her to find a seat, the 14 year old gave Forrester a grin and cheerful wave - as the board said no talking - and she took her seat next to Nancy who was also given an identical grin and wave.
And now to get to work. She looked down at the materials on her table then looked back up at the instructions again. Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl. Mariel looked around for the mixing bowl, which she grabbed and slid over so it was infront of her, then picked up a garbage bag. Cut it open? She looked over at Nancy with a quizzical expression on her face. Oh, her Slytherin friend was using Diffindo, which was a good thing because that's what she was going to do as well. She figured that wouldn't count as talking anyway and she didn't see a knife around nor any of those Muggle skissor things. Pulling out her wand and casting a quick Diffindo, Mariel then used the cut-open bag as a liner for her mixing bowl.
What next? After a quick look back up at the instructions, the third year dumped the measuring cup of water, then the spoonfuls of sand into her bowl. Now stir. The Ravenclaw girl picked up the wooden spoon from her table and started the monotonous task of stiring the gritty water while her green eyes scanned the room to see how the rest of the class was faring. Just like Potions... Mariel smiled to herself as she finished her stirring and looked over the next step. Ammonia... That was the really smelly one. The Ravenclawgirl looked around a bit before finding the ammonia on her table a dash of that and a dash of... organic material? Oh, that must be this dark, liquidy stuff. She quickly scanned the other ingredients on the table and glanced around to see others adding it before deciding that it was correct. Mariel proceeded to stir the mixture further until she was satisified with the blend.
Mariel carefully pulled on the gloves set out for her and began putting the garbage bags inside each other until there were three together. Pulling the dry ice out of the ice chest, she carefully put it inside the garbage bags which she then set onto the table. Oooh, now she got to use a hammer? A smug smirk crept up the sides of the young girl's mouth as she began pounding out her frustrations onto the bagged ice. This was somewhat reminiscent as her short time playing Beater... hitting bludgers, pounding ice - both were somewhat and strangely relaxing to the Ravenclaw.
Figuring it was pulverized enough, she dumped the contents of her bag into the bowl and began to stir - yet again. And just like in Potions class, her arm was starting to hurt from the repetitive motion, but just like in Potions class, she felt it worth it as she was eager to see the usually-exciting result. Okay, what was next? Green eyes scanned the board for the next set of instructions. Mariel looked back down in her mixing bowl as she continued to stir to see that the mixture was indeed almost frozen - or as frozen as she thought it was supposed to be per instruction.
Using the bag, she lifted the frozen concoction and shaped it into a ball. Holding it there for a few minutes until she thought it was frozen enough to hold its shape, the Ravenclaw girl unwrapped it and nodded to herself upon seeing the finished result. Cool. Still wearing her gloves, she picked up the frozen ball and set it upon the paper plate, then tidied up the table a bit as she waited to see what would happen next in class.

Satine continued working frantically while checking the list of ingredients/steps that she had copied from the board on a piece of parchment. She made sure to check off anything she had already completed.
While reviewing the list, she makes sure to check that her gloves are still in working condition. Reading the list out loud, "1. Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl.
CHECK
2. Place water in mixing bowl.
CHECK
3. Add sand or dirt, stirring well.
CHECK
4. Add dash of ammonia.
GAG! CHECK
5. Add dash of organic material stirring until well mixed.
CHECK
6. Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been place inside each other.
Check, check, check," she hoped that she had done these steps correctly.
She looked down at her creation as she continued looking down her list. She thought she was on step 10.
"7. Crush dry ice by pounding it with a hammer.
CHECK" hers was more crushed than pounded "8. Add the dry ice to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl while stirring vigorously.
CHECK
9. Continue stirring until mixture is almost totally frozen.
And Check Check Check," she finished with a quick mark through of the final steps she had completed and looked at her frozen "comet."
She read the next step outloud, "10. Use gloves - Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball. Well, that sounds easy enough."
Satine lifted her "comet" out of the bowl with her gloves on being very careful not to spill anything or drop or "comet." How bad would that be if she dropped it and it shattered ever where...bad thought...she focused back in and slowly shaped her "comet" into a medium sized snowball. She put lots of focus into make it perfectly round as she wondered if they were going to learn how to add color to the comet.
She took a quick glance around and continued on.
Realizing that she was wasting time watching the others, she grabbed her almost perfect snowball garbage bag "comet". It must have been a good five to ten minutes that she had just wasted looking around.
"11. Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape. Well, that sounds easy enough." she said with confidence as she slowly unwrapped the garbage bag from her "comet" snowball. At first things went smoothly, but on the under side of the ball, the garbage bag was frozen solid to the ball. She had to take these tiny pieces off one by one which seemed to take for forever and a day. "Okay final step!" she said with a triumphant smile and she imagine herself doing a little jump out of joy since she was almost done. "12. Place the comet on a paper plate. I hope I can do that one" she said sarcasticly as she proudly placed her comet on the paper plate and examined it closely to make sure that it was going to work.
Once she figured out that her comet was great, she looked around the class and waited for the next set of instructions from the professor. Then she took her gloves off and cleaned up a bit.

Naomi walked into the Astronmy classroom and sat down at one of the tables. She looked at the board and then got to work. First, she cut open a garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl. Then she put water in the mixing bowl and add dirt, stirring it well. She then added a dash of ammonia and a dash of organic material. She continued to stir the mixture until it was well mixed. She looked up at the board and read the next step. Dry ice? she thought. Better put on gloves. She put on the gloves and put 3 garbage bag inside one another and put the dry ice inside of it. She then crushed the dry ice with the hammer and added it to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl, stirring it vigorously. She continued to stir it until it was almost frozen. She put back on her gloves and removed the mixture and made it into a ball and wrapped it back in the plastic bag. She waited a few minutes until it was completely frozen. She then removed it, still with the gloves on, and put it on the paper plate sitting infront of her, and waited to be told what to do next.

Alriiiiiiight! Lets get to work...
She quickly tied her hair in a bun & folded her sleeves... STEP ONE: Quote:
Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl.
Sydney grabbed one of the medium-sized garbage bag and cut it open very cautiously...
Good, now lets line the bowl! She quickly lined the mixing bowl with the garbage bag & set it aside. Phew...step one...DONE STEP TWO & THREE: Quote:
Place water in mixing bowl.
Quote:
Add sand or dirt, stirring well.
Water? Right! She poured the two cups of water in the mixing bowl & added the sand as mentioned in the instructions. With the help of the wooden spoon, Sydney stirred the mixture for exactly one minute. Making sure that the it was stirred well, she moved onto the fourth and fifth step.. OOC: Here the links to Sydney's posts... Step 1, 2 & 3 | Step 4, 5, 6 & 7 | Step 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 Quote:

She slightly sniffed ammonia..." ACK!" Sydney muffled... It had a very pungent odor.. Enough fooling around...lets get to work again!
She added a dash of Ammonia & the other organic material. Good...now lets stir.. Grabbing hold of the wooden spoon, Sydney stirred the mixture strenuously. " Looks mixed to me" Sydney said grinning... STEP 6 & 7: Quote:
Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been place inside each other
Quote:
Crush dry ice by pounding it with a hammer.
Putting on her gloves, Sydney attentively added the dry ice in the garbage bags. So far, easy but here comes the hard part.. She had to crush the dry ice with the help of the hammer resting on the table..
Wearing the goggles which were lying on the table, Sydney lifted the hammer "...heavy..quite heavy." She thought as she hammered the ice.... BANG! THUD! BANG! BANG! .....
Hammering = DONE!
Sydney sighed as she placed the hammer back on the table.. She was starting to enjoy this...surprisingly! Quote:

" Hmmmph...What's next" She said glancing at the instruction...
" Hammering....Done, Mixing....Not Done" Sydney mumbled as she eyed the list once again. STEP 8 & 9: Quote:
Add the dry ice to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl while stirring vigorously.
Quote:
Continue stirring until mixture is almost totally frozen.
After adding the crushed dry ice, Sydney gripped the wooden spoon tightly and started the stirring..but this time with a lot more force and pressure... " I am stirring...stirrrrrinng in the rain...stir...stir..under the starssss" Sydney singed in a low voice & giggled at her silly song...
Her wrist ached due all the stirring but she had to stir the mixture until it froze..... After a fewwwww minutes
" yay! It froze!" Sydney exclaimed excitedly & glanced around the room, everyone was busy.. STEP 10, 11 & 12: Quote:
Use gloves - Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball.
Quote:
Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape.
Quote:
Place the comet on a paper plate.
" Move on, Move on, Move on" Sydney reminded herself. With her gloves in place, she lifted the comet with the help of the plastic bags and started to sculpt it in a round-ish snowball like structure. Feeling satisfied with the shape & making sure it was completely frozen, Sydney peeled the comet out of the bags and placed it carefully on the paper plate..
TA DA!!
Her comet was in perfect shape, just like it should be! Sydney sighed happily. Bending slightly, she placed her elbows on the table, cupping her face in her hands, Sydney stared at her very first Comet....

Miles found Astronomy very interesting. Stars, galaxies and astrologists. He would have loved to spend his time looking through a huge telescope and naming the constillations. Still, he found himself only at the beginning of this massive career ... in Astronomy class. Which, he wasn't complaining about. With his bag on his bag, Miles walked in and nodded at the professor. He then found a nice stop by a small window, where he would follow the instructions to make a sort of potion. Oh, so no looking at stars? Maybe next time. Feeling a little bit let down, Miles began to follow step one.
He picked up the garbage bag and cut it open, he then place it inside the bowl and round the edges. He wondered if this wasn't to dirty the bowl, it wasn't that amazing. Miles shrugged, and continued. He poured the right amount of water in and smiled. It was coming along nicely, nothing was spilling, or leaking, he saw that as a plus. Ok, so sand or dirt, Miles chose sand, it was nicer. He added this to his mixing bowl and continued to add a dash of ammonia and dark corn syrup.
Miles put on his working gloves as he picked up the dry ice and placed in the garbage bags, he did this 3 times. And now for the sorting of this dry ice. Cool. Quote:
1. 7. Crush dry ice by pounding it with a hammer.
2. 8. Add the dry ice to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl while stirring vigorously.
3. 9. Continue stirring until mixture is almost totally frozen.

5. 11. Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape.
6. 12. Place the comet on a paper plate.
Miles still had his gloves on, and his grin spread across his face as he picked up the hammer and smashed the dry ice. Woo! That was so worth it. He hadn't smashed up something in a while, and he was very destructive when he was a child. After this he added the rest of the ingredients and began to stir. Miles still didn't understand why they were doing this, he really couldn't see how this was to do with Astronomy. He lifted ... whatever it was, out of the bowl, just as the instructions said and shaped it. He unwrapped it and placed it on the paper plate as ordered. Hmm, it looked quite familiar, like a large rock or something. Miles glanced up at the instructions again and smiled. "Oooooh!" It said what it was on the board. Duh. He'd just made a comet!

Celandine arrived in the room and looked around. Oooh a quiet, work-by-yourself, hands on activity. A comet? Cool! Did that mean they were to stick around and watch it sublimate? Cela tied her hair back in a messy bun and started by reading the board, doing an inventory of ingredients and making sure they were all arranged within easy reach. It was a good thing that she looked good in goggles… even though she’d never worn them before, Cela was pretty sure about that part. She used her wand to diffindo one of the rubbish bags and placed her wand back in her holster before putting the goggles on and blinking at the instructions on the board. She read it through a few times before getting into it.
Line the mixing bowl. Okay. Cela used the rubbish bag she’d just cut and… well she lined the mixing bowl, wondering what would happen to the mixing bowl if it wasn’t lined. Okay. Water next. Celandine carefully poured in the 2 cups of water, not particularly wanting it to splash all over the place if she was rough. She put the jug aside and glanced at the instructions again. Sand OR dirt? Hmmmm. Cela decided to go with Sand AND dirt, adding a spoonful of each and mixing it with the wooden spoon until it was about as mixed as it wanted to get.
A dash of ammonia? Well she didn’t really want to get that on her hands either (especially if she got corn syrup on her hands too because she’d probably lick it off and get a mouth full of ammonia and she knew that wasn’t a good thing), so she put on the gloves early. She added a dash of ammonia and a dash of the corn syrup, mentally saying the word ‘dash’ while she did so as a measure of what a dash actually was.
Dry ice time! So this part was to freeze the icky mixture, clearly. She’d done a bit of reading about carbon dioxide before, though she’d never done any hands on experiments or actively watched any chemical reactions apart from the ones in potions class, which were more magical than natural anyway. While she thought about all this, Cela put the three remaining rubbish bags inside one another and tightened her gloves. She opened the ice chest and measured out 2 cups of dry ice into a jug, finally tipping it into her three layered bag.
Cel twisted the bags closed, figuring that was the reason for the bags, you know; to keep the ice all together and not have any pieces flick off somewhere. She picked up the hammer and went to crushing the dry ice like a mad thing, enjoying it more than she felt was strictly necessary but being unable to help herself. Smash. Smash. Pound. Crush. Smash. Rustle. Crush.
It was entirely possible that she was making music. The crushing sound of the dry ice and the rustling of the plastic bags, were a little distracting.
At least she looked awesome in her goggles and gloves.
Oooh. What was next? Cela looked at the board. Add the dry ice to the mixing bowl? Woot! She carefully untied the bags and poured the very, very slushy dry ice, carefully into the mixing bowl, picking up the wooden spoon and stirring the whole lot of it., carefully at first and then more and more vigorously as she noticed it freezing up and not splashing everywhere like she’d half expected.
She put the now empty rubbish bags aside and stirred the slush, finding it harder and harder. It didn’t look too pretty or smell particularly appealing. Once it was nearly frozen, she realised THAT was the reason for lining the bowl with a bag. The wooden spoon got put aside and Celandine lifted the whole bag out and, still wearing the gloves, shaped the comet. It was roundish and about 6 inches across when she held the bag up to have a look at the thing. She reached for a paper plate with her free hand and neatly slipped the comet out of the rubbish bag without touching it.
Celandine eyed the comet for a moment and busied herself with cleaning up, vanishing the used rubbish bags, scouring the mixing bowl and jugs and stacking them neatly to one side of her work area before peeking at the comet on the plate and waiting to see the thing sublimate and get all cratery and interesting.

Xehanna walked into the Observatory. "Good afternoon, Professor." She said smiling. "Yes a lab!' She thought as she looked at the board and rolled her sleeves up while reading the first part of the instructions. She tied her hair back and put on some safety goggles. She grabbed a garbage bag, cut it down and lined it in her bowl. She poured the 2 cups of water in her bowl carefully and slowly sirring in the dirt until it was mixed. She then added a little ammonia and organic material. She stirred until it was mixed very well.
She remembered to put on the gloves just before handling the dry ice, so she did. Xehanna then put a garbage bag inside of another garbage bag and one inside of the first until there were three. She put the 2 cups of dry ice and tied the bag, letting the air out. She began crusing the dry ice with the hammer. After it was well crushed, she poured it in the bowl and mixed it until it was frozen. She put the hammer down; She still hadn't taken her gloves off yet. She took the plastic bag, picked up the comet and balled it like snow. When it was completely frozen she unwrapped it and put it on the paper plate.
She didn't know if she should clean her work station so she did anyways. She picked up he paper towels and wet them a little. She wiped up the excess dirt, ammonia and organic material. Then she took dry paper towels and dried off the table. She rinsed the gloves and put the goggles back. She straghtened the ingredients. Xeh looked around and saw that some people had finished but others were still working. "Great class, Professor!" She said as she waved good-bye to the professor and left the room.

1. 1. Cut open one garbage bag and use it to line your mixing bowl.
2. 2. Place water in mixing bowl.
3. 3. Add sand or dirt, stirring well.
4. 4. Add dash of ammonia.
5. 5. Add dash of organic material stirring until well mixed.
1. 7. Crush dry ice by pounding it with a hammer.
2. 8. Add the dry ice to the rest of the ingredients in the mixing bowl while stirring vigorously.
3. 9. Continue stirring until mixture is almost totally frozen.
4. 10. Use gloves - Lift the comet out of the bowl using the plastic bag and shape it as you would a snowball.
5. 11. Unwrap the comet as soon as it is frozen sufficiently to hold its shape.
6. 12. Place the comet on a paper plate.
Abby reads the intructions. Oooh, I'm going to make my own comet. This should be fun. She puts on her googles. Abby then finds the mixing bowl, the work gloves, and the plastic bag. She takes out her wand and performs a severing charm on the plastic bag. When it's opened up, Abby places it in the mixing bowl. She then rereads the instructions. Abby pours the two cups of water in the bowl. She then finds the bowl of sand and adds two spoonfuls to the water. Abby puts on the gloves and adds a dash of amonia. She puts the cap back on the amonia, then finds the corn syrup. Abby opens the bottle, pours a dash in the mixing bowl, and closes the bottle. She finds the spoon and mixed everything until it's well blended. Abby looks at the blackboard again. She moves the mixing bowl to one side. Abby makes sure the three bags are inside each other. She puts some of the dry ice in the bags. Using the hammer, she crushes the ice vigorously. When it's all crushed, Abby adds some more ice to the bag. She continues to do this until all the dry ice is crushed. Abby gets the mixing bowl and adds the dry ice. She starts stirring vigorously. The ice is slow to freeze, so Abby continues stirring and stirring. Finally the mixture begins to freeze. She continues to stir. When the mixture is almost solid, Abby put her spoon down, and collects the sides of the plastic bag. When the bag is closed, she takes it out the bowl. Abby puts the bowl to one side and ties the bag closed. She then rolls the bag in her hands. It starts to take the shape of a snow ball. Abby continues to work with it until the ball is perfectly round. While Abby holds the bag in her left hand, she grabs a paper plate. Abby places the plate near the bag. She points her wand at the top of the bag. Abby performs a severing charm to open the bag. She then sticks her hands in and removes her comet. She puts it on the paper plate. Abby places the paper plate to the front of the table. She puts the dry ice she didn't use back into the ice chest. She then makes sure all the bottles have been closed properly. Abby throws the plastic bag in the garbage can, cleans the table off good. Puts all the ingredients where they belong. Abby then takes off her gloves and googles. She then waits to see what they are suppose to do next. |

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Ooooh, this seemed like fun! Making things was COOOOL. And all these ingredients and supplies they were meant to use to make ... whatever it is they were going to be making were even cooler! Hehehe. Wanting to get started right away, Clifford put on the goggles and working gloves Professor Forrester had supplied and studied the instructions which had been wrien on the board.
They were onna be making a COMET!? ZOMG!
Bouncing in excitement, the seventh year drew his wand from where he'd shoved it down the back of his trousers - that hip holster Professor Lawson had given him was uncomforable! - and used the severing charm to cut open the bag. After taking a moment to flatten it out, Clifford then plopped it inside the mixing bowl.
This was the fun part now. Mixing things was AWESOME. Nooow, where was he and what was next? Clifford studied the blackboard at the front of the classroom, head tilted to one side in concentration. Water in the bowl.. okie dokie. He was reading to cast him a bit of AGUAMENTI!! when he spotted the two cups of water. Baah, that was no fun. Still, the seventh year carefully poured them in the mixing bowl closely followed by a bit of dirt AND a bit of sand. Chyeah, he was greedy and wanted both.
Now, mix..mix..mix.
Ammonia? What was thaat? Clifford eyed his remaining ingedients unsurely. He figured that one was ammonia.. the one that was STINKY. But how much was a dash? Bleh. Shruging to himself, Clifford plopped a bit of the stinky ammonia into his mixture and then a dash of corn syrup too. All the while he continued to mix with the wooden spoon.. nice icky mixture. COOL. Oooooh! This was the bit he'd been looking forward to most! This bit was going to be even better than the mixing! Heehee. Yup, yup! It was that time! Time to crush up the dry ice! There was nothing more fun than getting to bash things with a hammer! WOOO!
Unable to contain his obvious excitement, Clifford bounced on the balls of his feet as he wiggled his gloved fingers ready. He put the dry ice inside the plastic bags and with his left hand held it shut on the table. This was iiiit!
BASH, BASH, BASH.
It was hard not to gigglesnort as he bashed the hammer on the plastic bag, crushing up the dry ice that was inside it. Hitting things was AWESOME!! There was just something really ... fulfilling about smashing things. Hmmm.
Still bouncing, Clifford emptied his newly crushed up dry ice to the mixing bowl and made sure it was all good and mixed up. And then it ... the mixture ... it was freezing!! Oh gosh, was that meant to happen!? Slightly nervous, the Head Boy eyed the instructions again, breathing a sigh of relief when he read step nine.
PERFECT.
Now, to get it out of the bowl. Clifford tugged at the plastic bag and with a wiggle the frozen mixture popped out. Gloves still on, the seventh year then started shaping it. Luffly and round. Like a big ... frozen round thing. YAY.
Pleased with his masterpiece, Clifford set his COMET on the paper plate he found on his desk. He was going to name it Calvin. Calvin Comet.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Miranda Merriweather Morgan Second Year | Steps 1-6 Miranda got to work slicing open the garbage bag and placing it carefully in the bowl, making sure it covered all the sides, before she added the water.
Looking at the board to see what was next, she added the sand and stirred with a little difficulty. Okay, what now? Ammonia? Ew, that's why it smells in here...
She schrunched her nose and added the dash of that. Organic material? Oh! The syrup! In it went. Now the sludge smelled funny and was even weirder to stir.
When it was well mixed, she put her three bags together and started putting in the dry ice. |

He jumped up and ran over, snatching her hands out of the container holding the dry ice. "Didn't you read the instructions fully?" He demanded of her. "Wear your gloves. You've just lost 15 points and have earned a detention. And a trip to the nurse. Or maybe I'll just have her visit whilst you're in detention. Are your hands burnt?"

| Mrs. Alex Turner *asterisks user* Secret Door WEEE! Was her memory that bad, or was this the first lab thingy in Evangeline’s not so long Hogwarts History? Hmm. Probably not, okay. But there hadn’t been much more, that she knew. After reading the instructions for a couple of times from her working place, Evangeline decided it was time to get to work. Yup, yup. Or Professor Forrester would kick her out before she had the time to finish her awesome COMET! OOOH! And they got goggles too! Awesome! They were funny! Eagerly, Evangeline put it on and reread the instructions … oh, just once more.
Deciding she’d put her gloves on when it was time to handle the dry ice, Evangeline grabbed the first garbage back and carefully cut it open. Once she figured it was enough, she set to line it up with the mixing bowl. A mixing bowl. Hehe. Why would they need a mixing bowl? Psssh.
Oh right, to build the comet!
After the once garbage bag was lined up alright with the mixed bowl, Evangeline read the next instruction. Hmmm. Water? Forrester must mean the two glasses full of water .. two glasses only, though? Well, she supposed. With a light shrug of her shoulders, the Prefect picked up a cup in each hand and carefully poured the liquid down onto the bowl. Water dooooooone.
Gently setting the cups back down onto the table – really, she didn’t want to end up dropping them and breaking her Head of House’s glasses!! -, the Seventh Year checked the instructions once more. Ooh. Only a GAZILLION more to go! Eh.
Ooooh. Now came the sand! Sand was good and nice and fun! It remind her of the beach, the one place she really couldn’t go that much because she turned BRGIGHT RED – unless it was winter, of course. Blasted pale skin. Humming a tune under her breath, Evangeline used the wooden spoon on the table to get two spoonfuls of sand onto the water and proceeded to mix it well, making sure it was nice and well stirred. YAYYAY!
Hmmm. The two next steps looked easy enough, at least! Still humming the tune, not too loud so it wouldn’t disturb the work of the other students, Evangeline added a dash of ammonia to the sand and water mix, before adding a dash of the dark corn syrup. Ewwww! That had a weird smell. Crinkling her nose, the Prefect picked up the wooden spoon to mix it very, very well. She stirred it for about a couple of minutes, until the syrup was well mixed with the water.
And now .. it was time for the gloves! After putting them on and making sure there was no way she’d get burned and lose house points Evangeline scratched her chin. Now, she needed to get three garbage bags inside eachother, yeah? Well, that was easy enough!
Carefully doing it – after all, she only had 3 bags and couldn’t ruin any – Evangeline tucked each bag inside the next one and set them on the table, ready for the ice. WOOHOO! This was cool now. She couldn’t wait till she got to use the hammer. With her gloved hands, Evangeline warily took the dry ice out of its chest and put it inside the nicely tucked in bags. And now..
…. HAMMER TIME! Bang, bang, Evangeline’s silver hammer came down upon the iiiiiice. Turututuru., the girl almost started singing as she picked up the hammer and started hitting the ice with it, making sure it was well crushed. MWAHAHA! Evangeline had no mercy!
After she was done with it - booohoo, couldn’t she go on? It was fun! – the Prefect emptied the bags into the bowl with the water, sand, ammonia and syrup mix, seeing the crushed ice fall there. Mwahahaha. And now, mix time again! She eagerly mix it well, with the wooden spoon that had been on the table, until it reached the stage where it almost froze. Weeeeeee!! Almost done, she was!
After stopping one moment to read the rest of the instructions, Evangeline looked down at her hands to make sure she still had her gloves on – well, it didn’t hurt to be sure, did it? – before pulling up the bag out of the bowl, taking the comet with it. Then, she rested it on her desk, ready to start shaping it. Like a snowball, eh? That meant roooooound. Nice and round!
As she did that, she noticed it was becoming harder to shape it, which meant the comet was freezing for REAL! Once it was a nice, big, frozen ball, Evangeline used her gloved fingers to unwrap the plastic of the paper bag from the comet. Aaaand last step!
With one excited bounce and proud eyes eyeing her bootiful comet, Evangeline placed it on one of those paper plates that were on the table. PERFECT! As she waited for more instructions or for dismissal, she entertained herself with cleaning up the mess she had made with the paper towels, glad that her comet was holding its shape. |

Sixth Year | ♥ Honeybee's puppy I B&B forever ♥
Astronomy. An attraction to Alice, always. Not only just to see the stars by laying on her back and watching the sky but to know about the celestial system. Her father taught her some, like how to idendity the plantes by their shapes and glowing and also some huge stars. But very few. But this time bit different. Some experiments. Interesing.
She rubbed her hands together getting excited. Alice grinned as she took a glance inside the lab. There were very few students. Without taking morethan few seconds, her eyes were on him. Fyo. Her Lion. Alice's face was lighting up immediately. Hehe. She grabbed a pair of glouses before gave a nice smile to the Professor. She took the ingredients before read the instruction on the board and made her way to sit next to Fyo.
Following the strict rules of the class, she did control her urge to talk to him but knew Fyo could read her silent words. Dont you Lion?! She smiled at him Where have you been? I miss you Prince.
as she put the gloves on and readying to start the work.
As being happy for sitting and attending class beside him, Alice opened up the garbage bag. A good wand work. She made a liner on her cauldron or mixing bowl. Umm..next step. Water. Aguament!, The easy spell filled the measuring cup. She poured the required amount of water and eyeing on Sand. Sand.
She looked up at him Sand Monster, smiled as she added sand into the bow and started stirring.
Stirring..stirring..kept stirring as if it was her favourite game. Once she got satisfied with stirring, before added ammonia..Yuck.. What a horrible smell! She had to close her nose by her free hand as she kept working on her mixing bowl with four ingrdients. Garbage liner, Water, Sand and ammonia. Well what next? Add dash of organic material stirring until well mixed. What's organic material?! Alice had to check out first. She finally found that it was an syrup. She had not taking risk of smelling it. She added the amount of organic material and stirred well. It was not that much difficult to mix it well. Place dry ice in 3 garbage bags that have been place inside each other.
Aw..the difficult part is ahead. She made sure that she was wearing the protective gloveses on already. She pulled out the three gargabe bags and what to do? Place the dry ice in a bag first then it had been put into other two bags safely, ready to break.
Ha the hammer thing. Order. Order. Well not that type of wooden hammer. Bang Bang Bang! Gah. It seems difficult to break. She looked at Fyo who had been working on his comet very sincerely. She grinned and hitting hard on the dry ice. Finally ..Wow..she did it.
She sighed happily and added the crushed ice into the mixing bowl along with other ingredients.
Final step. Final step. Keep stirring..
She started stirring on that peculiar mixture carefully not to spill or something around the bowl. She was brilliant on this that doing things neatly, always. After all she was a girl and so responsible. Didn't she? Well..after stirring the mixture for quite a good amount of time and when the mixture was coming to a frozed state, Alice lift the comet from the bowl and placed it inside the plastic bag, and rolling it by her hands like a smooth and well-shapped snowball. Sandball?! Haha..whatever it is, the shape looked like rounded and nearly perfect. Haha.
She slowly unwraped it and placed it on the paper plate. Her first astronomy experiment in Hogwarts was Success. Hundred percent. More or less. Doesnt matter. She beamed at her own creation of the perfect Comet before smiled at Fyo who was finished up and looking at hers. She pulled off her gloves and feeling triumphant.
Yay. Yay! Done! Lalalala..The young Hufflepuff was excited.
