| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 2
Antonio hummed as he began to get the classroom ready for the students. The room was being set up a bit differently than it had been before, as they were going to definitely be doing work into here today. In fact, the Muggle Studies classroom suddenly had been transformed into, of all things, a kitchen, complete with oven, refrigerator, work tables, cabinets, lots of different kinds of foods and baking supplies such as pans, mixing bowls, everything a cook could possibly imagine. Well, this lesson should be interesting. It was about time for a hands on lesson, Antonio thought. The way things had been going at the castle, the students might need something to occupy their minds, and they could fill their stomachs at the end. That was always a good thing.
"Come in and take a seat," Antonio greeted the students. "We'll have a quick lesson and then get into the really fun part. I think most of you can see what I have in mind for later on." He smiled. "Discussion first, though, so take a seat."
ooc: My posting here is probably going to be intermittent, as I have to go to my work and the people there are fanatical. The lesson will move along throughout the day and over the course of the weekend, don't get nervous because I will be back and checking in from time to time! After the lesson, there will be homework, as well (as usual).
And remember - behave yourselves in this classroom! I see all! | |

"Oh... what?" Mariel was about to read about the Creole when Sarah mentioned that browning again. Flipping back to the Sheperd's Pie section, she skimmed the instructions until she found the right spot. There was something about browning potatoes. Nodding enthusiastically, she read, "Yes, it says 'Place beef and onions in baking dish. Distribute mashed potatoes on top. Rough up with a fork so that there are peaks that will brown nicely. You can use the fork to make some designs in the potatoes as well. Cook in 400 degree oven until bubbling and brown,about 30 minutes. Broil for last few minutes if necessary to brown." So whatever they were talking about, it seemed as if 'brown' was the right answer.
Turning once again to the Shrimp Creole recipe, Mariel looked at her group and said, "Should we try the Shrimp Creole now?" She wasn't so sure, but Sarah seemed confident and maybe she would take charge again. Skipping the ingredient list, she read from the instructions, "The first steps say to combine oil and flour in a Dutch oven. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until mixture is golden colored. This should take about 15 to 20 minutes." What on Earth was a Dutch oven? Different than a regular one? Mariel looked up from the book waiting for her group to either get started or tell her what she should do. Quote:

Sarah shrugged as Mariel echoed her suggestion of doing the Shrimp Creole.No-one else had answered them and it was now getting late into the lesson.As Mariel read out the preperation instructions,Sarah gave her a quizzical look. "Dutch oven? I've got no idea what that is," she said,truthfully. "I mean we could give it a go,though,but...." she glanced over towards Professor Dumont,who seemed ready to wrap things up.
Moments later he voiced exactly what she'd thought. "Well there we go," she giggled,looking round at the group. "I guess that answers the question of the creole.Did you want to get the pie out of the oven,Mariel?" Smiling she picked up a pair of oven gloves and held them out to her friend.
