Antonio walked into the Muggle Studies classroom for the first time, excited to be back in front of the students again after the summer break. The break had been bittersweet, as there had been a tragic loss over the course of it, but there had also been a gain that he had never expected to have back again, since his wife Bethany was now reunited with him once again after having been rescued from death eaters. Just as he had given up all hope of seeing her again, and the miraculous thing was that she was pretty much unchanged.

Antonio thought about things that had happened last term. Apparently he and several other professors had actually regressed in their minds to being Hogwarts students age, and he and a couple other professors had actually attended a few classes as students. Incredible as that was to believe, he had a somewhat vague memory of binging at Hogwarts. He wondered if this term was going to be a better one, and he hoped it would be. The Mirror of Erised was gone now, and that was a big relief.

Antonio posted up a huge poster at the front of the classroom -

Then he addressed the class. "Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Hogwarts. We're going to get started in just a few minutes, so please go ahead and take a seat. And just to explain, we are trying things a little differently this year. I am not going to be giving individual house points, however, I am going to be keeping track of those who do welll in the class and you will have the chance to earn stars, which can become house points at the end. House points have been out of control, and of course you will have the chance to earn maximum points on your homework. We really need to focus on learning rather than making a huge competition for points, and so that's what we are doing this term. Just so all of you know." He smiled. "But there will be various surprises and goodies handed out during this class, as well, so be ready."

ooc: Class will be lasting for a few days, so I will be appearing in and out at different times. Don't worry! This also gives people maximum opportunity to show up, and your homework will be posted at the end. Come in and enjoy!

Raiden apparently still remembered though, and there was an ample supply of dancing students surrounding them, so Kiri, after a few moments, was pretty sure she'd be able to at least do the motions mechanically correct. Whether they would actually look graceful, she was very much in doubt on that.
She took his other hand, a tiny electric shock passing through them as she did so, and started moving.

It felt very, very strange. Hesitant step after hesitant step, Kiri tried to stay in time with the music, which wasn't easy. The "rock and roll" rhythm was fairly fast. To her relief, Raiden didn't seem to be a natural dancer, either, but looking into his face like that didn't make concentrating on the steps any easier. Nevertheless, she smiled at him shyly, finally beginning to match the beat coming out of the music machine. The motions became less clunky, her hair flying in front of her face at every swaying sidestep. Was she actually having fun?

Her attention was drawn to the head girl, although she wasn't really concentrating on what was going on now... just on those poor wee poodles.

That Plymouth Morgan was just evil saying that he wanted a demonstration and Banana? OH! She had to thank Plym after class because that was the evil of all evils...but in a nice way. "Go Anna! Go Banana!" Lyra chanted along with the other students but made her own words in the middle.

Jule wanted to see Anna dance. She had no grudge against since the incident. 'She seems pretty nice." she thought. "Come on, Anna. Don't be afraid." she encouraged her.

Dancing was getting much less awkward now as his feet moved in the patterns they'd just learned. They were following the same steps mechanically now, yay! And he was doing it without stepping on Kiri or falling over or anything like that, which was always a good thing.

Eeep, and Anna and Plymouth were going to demonstrate? His eyes automatically went from his own feet, where they'd been since he'd started dancing, to where the pair were. His body managed to keep with the natural flow of the dance somehow, even though he wasn't fully paying attention to it anymore.

"If they're demonstrating then... we should watch to make sure we're doing it right," Raiden said brightly, grinning as he looked at Kiri. "Though I'm sure you're doing it right, at the very least. You're a good dancer, Kiri!"

I believe I need a partner if I'm to do the Jitterbug, yes?" she said, not really asking a question but rather pleading with him to get a move out of that seat and come demonstrate with her.

Plymouth grinned and got up straight away. "Of course I'll be your partner. Remember what I said about obeying and doing whatever the Head Girl needed?" Plymouth offered his hand to Anna. "Okay Class. Watch and learn, watch and learn. Show 'em how it's done, Anna."

Althought Chrisitne had grown up with muggles, she had never heard or seen any of these dances. Christine got up and grabbed a chocolate shake and a hamburger and sat back down. She was very curious on how to do this dance, but Anna, the girl the Professor asked to show the dance seemed a little nervous. Hey, Anna, if you show me how the dance goes I'll do it with you she told her hoping that dancing with someone else would make her feel less nervous.

Paris at back to watch and see what sort of moves Anna and Plymouth had. She was guessing Plymouth had two left feet. And it would be funny to see just that. She looked at Cope wondering if he wanted to dance. She was itching to ask him.

Dani looked around. She didn't really know anybody so she had nobody to dance with. She looked at the others as they started dancing and wondered what it would be like if Nate were there. But that was pointless, he was too busy mooning over Lasca.

Well, he kind of knew the step...rock step...step...step...and twirl. And Twist!!
Emiliano tapped his shoe, mostly excited about the hesitant beat of the song, then came to move his shoulders...Beware, Emiliano was starting to dance alone. How he wished to have a partner.

"After a few of those, the man will turn the woman around...turn me, Plym," she said, whispering that last part. "Then the motions start all over again. 'side, side, rock step...side, side, rock step'." There now. This wasn't so bad. It might even be a little bit of fun, too. As the two danced, Anna's urge to jinx poor Plymouth to the moon and back slowly diminshed.

Christian looked up from his place beside Jane he was thoroughly enjoying this class. He wanted to sing and loved music. "Professor I know quite a lot of this type of music could I sing at the sock hop?" Christian asked raising his hand

Reese sat back in her chair as she watched Anna and Plymouth, who were now about to dance. She sunk down deep into her chair and just kept her eyes on Anna and Plymouth. No, she didn't want to dance. She danced at parties, not in classrooms. She also didn't know these kind of dances, so if she danced, she WAS going to make a fool of herself. Yeah, the Jitterbug sounded easier, but it probably wasn't.

"First time... dancing..." To her surprise and quiet horror, she realised that she actually liked it. She liked to dance! Why hadn't she been introduced to it sooner?
The redness on her face was now mostly due to the constant moving, she didn't feel too embarrassed or awkward anymore. She was working up a sweat, too.

Turning her head, Kiri could see the two people the teacher had chosen to demonstrate the jitterbug dance stand up and prepare. Not looking at her feet or straight ahead at Raiden made her balance a little shaky. Her hair was brushing into her face annoyingly, but by now Kiri wouldn't have stopped for hard galleons. Probably. No wonder this was popular with Muggles, she thought, watching the Gryffindor girl and her partner.

Christine saw more people getting up to dance. Since Christine had no idea how to do the dances they were talking about, she did not get up to dance. Christine took a big gulp of the chocolate shake she had in her hand and watched the others dance.

She was dragging Plymouth Morgan around, which was just... amusing to watch. But now he actually HAD to pay attention to his movements with Kiri, because for some reason his feet weren't remembering the steps by themselves anymore. Whyyyy when he was right in the middle of dancing? Sadface.

"This is... kinda really fun though," he said softly, staring at his feet again.

Plymouth would have probably been okay at this dancing thing - if not for Anna giving him ridiculous and distracting smiles. " Plymouth starts on left foot, Anna on right foot....then.." Plymouth did the steps as he said each one out loud, "Side, side, rock step. Side, side, rock step."

"Come on everyone now! You're making blush being up here on show!" Okay Plymouth liked the attention, he did, but he also wanted everyone else to dance too! "JITTERBUGGGG!" he sang and added a few steps to Anna's directions - you know, like ridiculous off beat ones. "Someone put on that Jail song! Wooo!"

Plymouth liked the spinning part best. He took Anna's hand and spun her around and around a few more times than necessary. Plymouth couldn't believe more boys weren't taking advantage of dance lessons from Anna. Absurdness!

Natasha watched the two who were now dancing, the Head Girl Anna and the boy she had met the other day. She also looked around the room, not about to ask anyone to dance. Well, unless maybe someone asked her. But that wasn't likely to happen. At least that was what she hoped.

"Careful", Kiri panted, gripping Raiden's hands tightly before he could fall over. She had to turn around again quickly so as not to unbalance herself as Raiden stumbled through a couple of steps. Strands of her hair clung to her sweaty forehead, blocking her vision. She had to shake her head rapidly a few times to dislodge them again. The music machine of Professor Dumont warbled on.

After another minute or two, Kiri's lungs were burning. "Take... break..." she managed to say, and stopped dancing. That turned out to take a few seconds, so entranced had her body been in the music. When she finally stood still, it felt as if the music vibrated through it and made it move even though she'd just stopped! Her breathing came heavily as if she had just run an entire course. Her face and arms and hands were sweaty. But Kiri felt great! She wanted to dance again as soon as possible. With Raiden.

She smiled at him widely, puffing out air in great gulps. "That was fun, wasn't it? I can't believe we didn't kick each other or something." She took his hand and turned around to watch the two older students in front of the class jitterbug away.

"That's right, Plym. See, you're doing a good job," she said, continuing to smile at him and then getting more and more into the rhythm of the steps. The Jitterbug may be an ancient dance of the 1950's, but it was a fun dance, nonetheless. Or, well, at least Anna was having a good time with it. 'Side, side, rock step. Side, side, rock step,' she repeated, going over the motions again and again in her head as she performed them in the classroom. "Ow, Plym! That was my foot," she said, frowning for a second, then getting right back into the dance. Was that even Plym's foot, or had she side, side, rock stepped her way into a nearby desk?

Anna giggled at Plym's enthusiasm for the song and dance. "Jitterbuggg!" she called out, laughing while following his lead and getting all into the demonstration. "Ohh, Jailhouse Rock! I liked that one, tooooo!" Anna allowed Plym to spin her around and around...and around and around some more. She was pretty sure they'd spun a bit more times than the dance called for, but who cared when they were having fun?

Chris snuck over to Lucy and took the set next to her. "No much of dancing either?" He asked quietly with a smirk on his face. He then looked at Plymouth and Anna. He had to admite they were good. Loads better then he could ever dream of being.

Plymouth ended their dance with a great big HUG for Anna. "Best dance teacher ever. I knew you would be. Bet Professor D will be asking for a dance lesson next," Plymouth doted on Anna. Nothing new there. "Go teach the others? It's hardly fair for me to keep you all to myself, tempting as that is."

Plymouth turned to the class, "Okay girls! Who wants to dance with me now?"
