| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 1
Antonio walked into the Muggle Studies classroom for the first time, excited to be back in front of the students again after the summer break. The break had been bittersweet, as there had been a tragic loss over the course of it, but there had also been a gain that he had never expected to have back again, since his wife Bethany was now reunited with him once again after having been rescued from death eaters. Just as he had given up all hope of seeing her again, and the miraculous thing was that she was pretty much unchanged.
Antonio thought about things that had happened last term. Apparently he and several other professors had actually regressed in their minds to being Hogwarts students age, and he and a couple other professors had actually attended a few classes as students. Incredible as that was to believe, he had a somewhat vague memory of binging at Hogwarts. He wondered if this term was going to be a better one, and he hoped it would be. The Mirror of Erised was gone now, and that was a big relief.
Antonio posted up a huge poster at the front of the classroom - 
Then he addressed the class. "Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Hogwarts. We're going to get started in just a few minutes, so please go ahead and take a seat. And just to explain, we are trying things a little differently this year. I am not going to be giving individual house points, however, I am going to be keeping track of those who do welll in the class and you will have the chance to earn stars, which can become house points at the end. House points have been out of control, and of course you will have the chance to earn maximum points on your homework. We really need to focus on learning rather than making a huge competition for points, and so that's what we are doing this term. Just so all of you know." He smiled. "But there will be various surprises and goodies handed out during this class, as well, so be ready."

Sarah's hand shot in the air as Professor Dumont asked which they liked the best. "I like the first two,Sir.They have a more uptempo beat and you can dance to them better!"
Yep she danced at home to these songs.Her mother was a huge Elvis fan,listening to all the old songs she'd been given.Now she was getting Sarah hooked to.
Then Dumont produced two more songs,one of which she didn't know...'Folsom Prison Blues'? Strange name for a song, she thought as she sat listening to it.Not bad,though.
When Johnny B.Goode started Sarah had to clamp her lips together hard to stop herself from singing along.Oh this was going to be a hard lesson or that reason....she wanted to join in!

After listening to all the songs, Evangeline was left highly confused. And wanting to dance, but Merlin forbid she'd start dancing in the middle of class. These songs reminded her of the Sock Hop there was at Hogwarts back in her second year. GOSH! So long ago.
Better to get the confusion away.
"Professor.." Evangeline started, raising her hand. "How can all these songs be .. well, the same style? I mean that Elvis one and this .. Smoke in your eyes or something, they're completely different.." It hardly made sense to her.

Okay, well, that didn't seem too difficult to remember, now did it? Raising her hand, Anna asked, "Professor are we going to dance the Jitterbug today?" That'd be a fun little addition to the class, even though Anna knew they probably had many more things to learn today other than getting up and cutting a rug across the floor. "It also says in our textbook where 'sock-hops', gym dances, and home basement dance parties were popular. What's a sock hop?"

Instead she looked around the room at everyone else.They all seemed to be enjoying this lesson as much as she was.

Dagobert was hoping that maybe his moves might impress her. Why he wanted to impress her, he had no idea. He walked up to Dem and offered his hand.
'Let's dance!' he said pulling her up, not particularily bothered about what people would say, 'You too will be astounded by my amazing-ness.'
With that he took her to a spot where it would be easier to dance and started imitating the moves from the demonstration.
'Having fun?' he asked with a smirk.

YAY! Muuuusic. Despite him being a muggle-born, he'd never even seen that instrument or whatever it was that just projected music out of it. Sure there were ones in the muggle world that were exactly like it but this one was like, kewler... because it was bigger... and cooler. Yeah. He couldn't really explain it but the record player looooked old. He sometimes liked old stuff. While listening to the music, he tapped his fingers on the desk. Ahhhh music. Who didn't like music?
Music-haters of course, but people who hated music were absolutely and completely had no taste in ANYTHING. Yup. Mmhmm.
Now it was the Jitterbug. He'd heard of it before but never really did it himself, so he started nodding his head when Anna asked if they could learn how to do the Jitterbug today. But just in case, he started writing down the instructions... to practice later and all. Yuuuuup.
Remembering some other dance moves that were really, really old, he raised his hand up. "Professah, what other dance moves were popular in the 1950s? Could the Chicken Dance possibly be one of them?" OOOH. The Chicken Dance! But all he could remember was that it was Swiss-ish and... while still raising his hand up, "Did rock 'n roll affect other countries besides the United States?"

Brant laughed at the thought of him doing this "Jitterbug". Did the Professor really want him to dance. He hoped not. Watching the other students Brant thought "what the heck" he got up and tried to do this Jitterbug dance and as he was dancing he was counting,

step two.....

How cool would it be to have a sock hop for their muggle studies final!! Like the final they had last term. That final was awesome!! And Paris rocked it!!

As Professor Dumont began playing the songs, Rachel fell silent and relaxed back into her chair, waiting expectantly for the familiar sense of happiness that usually came whenever she heard a song that she liked. What she had not expected, however, was to feel sad. Sad? Why am I sad?! I love these songs, I used to listen to them all the time when I was-
Ahh. Rachel froze as the memories came flooded in; of her parent's house, the music room, the evenings they had spent together with Rachel dancing to the beats of the old old, catchy songs. Rachel sighed and stared at the table in front of her, completely oblivious to her surroundings. She could hear the music, and she could see the memories in front of her eyes. That was it.

He looked around and noticed how others had gotten up and started dancing. It had certainly was certainly becoming a fun class.

"Haha" Miranda laughed and giggled as she saw the other students dancing in the classroom. It seemed like alot of fun.
Finally, she stood up and began to turn around, flailing her arms in the air, this was like her own style of dancing. "Wooo!"
Now she tried to side step but ended up looking like she was tap dancing in a weird way. "You can rock and you can roll...hmhmhmhmmmm" Miranda hummed along with the song.
