"Really? Why? Why?" Why was the question that Plymouth needed answered. Why. Why why why. He turned on the steps so that his leg was resting sideways and he could look at her - instead of turning his back on her.


Not that it wasn't tempting to just run away right then.

"Why do I miss you?" What kind of question was that?

"Because you are my best friend and I miss air nuzzles and talking to plants and secret handshakes and picnics and just doing stuff."

Not stuff. Just stuff.

There was more to it than that though.

"Not a very good one, am I?" Best friend, that was. He made her CRY. A lot. ANd didn't know so much... "Besides, you can do all that with him. Copernicus. And stuff."

Though, admittedly, Copernicus didn't do those things. They were, at the time, CellBell and Plymmy exclusives.

Plymouth tried to smile and show that he was okay. He was okay. It wasn't a good Plymouth smile, but at least an attempt.

"I miss you anyway." Cel told him and let out a folorn little sigh at mention of Copernicus. There was such a block there. Without Plymouth they were stuck.

"Do you still think you want to be with me." Cela repeated her question from before in a subdued tone. She wasn't offering, she just needed to know so she could make him see.

"No," Plymouth answered automatically. "I mean, yes, but, no. I ... don't know. But, it doesn't matter, Cel. YOU don't want to be with me and that's... that's okay. As long as you're happy. And okay. I'm okay." Lonely, best friendless, but okay. Getting better all the time.

"You still don't get it. You just don't." Celandine shifted down to Plyms step and turned to look at him imploringly. She had no idea how to address the problem, their relationship had been based on affection. Genuine though it was, there was another level of attraction missing and Cela felt like someone needed to show Plymouth that because she had no idea how to explain it. It was too much for her to think about for to long. Too overwhelming.

"I'm not happy." Celandine told him and gave him a thoughtful little look. "Are you sure you are okay?"

If he was okay, wouldn't he and Cope be okay?

"I don't get it. I don't." Plymouth had NO IDEA she'd been unhappy. Or kissing Copernicus. Or .... why. Why? Why was such a good question.

"You're still unhappy because of me," Plymouth guessed. Plymouth Morgan did nothing right. He'd always aimed to make Cela happy. Always. Always, always, always, before anyone else, always.

And he was still failing.


He shrugged a shoulder at her and found his hands verrrrry interesting to look at.

"Tell me what you don't get and I'll try so very hard to explain." Celandine would try and it was hard.

But she'd try.

Karma put a hand on Emiliano's arm when she noticed he was uncomfortable since they were up pretty high. Luckily now they were moving again, to another staircase that led up very high, more than likely to the towers.

He hadn't said anything, so she nudged him in the side and made a face. "We can't make it seem like we're listening in," she hissed. "Besides, that's not what I meant to do. I'll tell you later, I know you're confused about them." She held onto the railing and leaned forward slightly, watching everything else below them.

"You know, it's not that bad since there's a spell to keep us from falling off of these things."

"What did I do wrong? For starters. What... what made you so sad? Why didn't you tell me?" Plymouth began, since she asked, but stopped there. He had a million and one other questions.

He just wasn't sure he was ready to hear her answers.

Plymouth slouched and pulled his chest to his knees so he could rest his chin on his hands.

"You didn't do things wrong." Celandine shook her head, "We were... are?... friends. And... not much would be different without the whole... kissing thing and the.... boyfriend/girlfriend thing." Cela took a breath. "Like... um... you don't... you know.... um look at me. Like... look look?" Cela gestured at her chest and hips and then an all over sort of spirit fingered wave in emphasis.

"I was sad about... hurting you and... I didn't know how to tell you when I didn't know what I was telling."

Plymouth turned his head to look at Cela. "You think I look at you wrong? I .. liked ... the girlfriend part." A lot. But, that probably wasn't helpful, so Plymouth didn't quantify just how much he did.

"You could have told me about Copernicus, CellBell." Plymouth was hurt and he wasn't trying to hide it since she was finally talking to him.

"Mmm." Without wanting as it were. But Cela wasn't sure how to say that either.

"I tried telling you." Celandine admitted. "You... never wanted to listen and... you never asked me about it even when you knew."

If possible, Plymouth felt worse. He... it wasn't that he hadn't listened... he just ... It didn't matter. It was over now anyway. He turned his face from Cela so that she couldn't see HOW upset he was. Plymouth Morgan was NOT much of a crier (unmanly, crying was), but he sure wasn't far from it.


"I'm sorry. For whatever it's worth."

"I'm sorry too. So much." Celandine WAS crying. The tears were doing their thing on their own accord and she opted to ignore them completely.

"I miss you." She repeated again.

"A spell?" Emiliano looked back at Karma, sort of confused, but of course. The school staff would never risk their students at all from these dangers. "Ah, alright. But still, heights have never been my friends, I prefer being at ground, safe..." He commented, trying to sound a little brave, after all.

Anyways, they were not going to be ground safe anymore this year. The school was flooding, out of control. "I wish I could play soccer..." That little comment, just flew out of his mouth. Eh, not great, great, say something!

Nodding her head, she leaned over the railing a little more than normal to look down. Heights weren't particularly her best friend, but it wasn't as if Karma was completely afraid of them. What she was afraid of though, were small things. Have her hang off of a cliff? Sure! But putting her up against a tarantula? Noo way.

OHOHOHOH. He made a comment about soccer! "I just want to know how we're going to get outside for our classes and stuff with the Great Hall and Entrance Hall flooded." ZOMG GREAT HALL. "And WHERE are we going to eat?" Man. And poor Kiri, apparently she had been in the flooding situation twice. That just can't go well at all for her.

"That reminds me. How did you meet Kiri?"

"I just told you one of my greatest fears, now could you tell me one of your fears?" Em asked her, giving a shifty smile as he said the last word of his question. He so tried not to look downstairs, his stomach was just...making a lot of twists.

"I've been thinking we might have to take some classes inside the school. But then I ask, how would the teachers come into the school with the situation inside. Which now reminds me, I am hungry. I didn't have dinner..." Nice, Karma just woke his brain to make him feel hungry. "And as for that, do we have another choice, we are going to have to eat at our Common Rooms or the Room of Requirement..." He thought about it for a while, at least it was not out of reality.

Ehh, Kiri. How did they meet? Oh yeah..."I met her at the lake, one of my clumsy moments throwing those toy balls. We started to talk and voilá...another friend I made." True, it was not new in his life, having more friends that were girls.

Karma snickered slightly as she was still hanging off of the rail as she looked down below them. There were other students below them, probably first years and such. It didn't really phase her to tell him her fears, she just couldn't think of a really huge one other than spiders.

Oh wait. Well, she did have that one fear, but she couldn't say it out loud, especially in a place like this that echoed down for what seemed like miles. But, he gave her an idea. The Room of Requirement.

"Ohh Saenz, you just helped me out with our adventure." Once the staircase slammed to a halt, she stumbled slightly, then ran up to the top of the stairs. She peeked her head out the doorway to see where they were, and her plan to get them to the seventh floor had worked. She ran back down, and grabbed his hand. She started to pull him up the stairs after her, smiling. "Come on. Our adventure continues in the Room of Requirement."

Plymouth scooted over, back first, towards Cela until he bumped into her.It was probably as close to Cela snuggles as he'd ever get, but it was something. "You can wipe them on my shoulder if you need."

Adventure, adventure??? Oh yeah, they were in search of something to do before going to bed. Talk, heights...totally made him lose the thread of their night. Once feeling dragged onto the Seventh Floor halt, Emiliano followed Karma to the Room of Requirement. He so wished there could be a piano, anything to just have fun.

By the way...his birthday, was coming up. Gah...total fail by not counting the days.

Cela did.

She nuzzled into his back and just cried quietly.

Plymouth wiped his own nose on his sleeve, but otherwise just sat there with his CellBell. Plymouth wasn't comfortable with the situation and his feelings and how he suddenly felt like ... he'd been the complete loser that didn't listen or make Cela happy....


... but he was comfortable with Cela. So, he sat there. After a while, he turned his head so that he could maybe see her. It brought his face close to nuzzling hers, but... he didn't.

Once Cela had run out of tears she whispered quietly, "I'm sorry." She leaned her cheek on his shoulder and looked up at Plymouth. "I don't know how to make it better and I want you to be happy."

Plymouth turned a little more towards her. "I don't know how to be happy without you. You kind of became ... a big deal in my little world. But, I'm trying?" He was, too. Plymouth raised his arm a little to try and put it around her, but he gave Cela the this okay? look. In the meantime, his arm just hovered.
