Rhea walked into the great hall and made her way to the huffle puff table. She sat on the bench and put her head on the table, soaking wet and dejected.
She let out a heavy sigh and felt more hot tears on her cheeks. The tears just kept coming. Man was she a wreck. She always thought she was so in control of her feelings until now that is. Until he whole world started crushing in about her...until her common room flooded and added to her mounting problems.
Ash quitewet sat down at the hufflepuff table and looked over at Rhea "Hey are you okay? Do you need a tissue?" Ash asked the girl holding out her hankercheif

George half walked, half ran to the great hall and looked around, panicking. Water, lots of it.. It's gonna get me! His eyes scanned the room quickly before resting on the Hufflepuff table with lots of wet huffies. He breathed a sigh of relief. It's not gonna get me. He smiled and then panicked again. IT'S GONNA GET US! He squeaked quietly and then spotted Alice. Walking over to her, he sat next to her and put his head on her arm "Alice.." he mumbled quietly.

He was confused now. He got the first part and all, but the trouble stuff.. Huh?"Wait, who will you be in trouble with?" Who would get in trouble over wet stuff?

"The teachers. My homework was in there." George explained a little sadly "I'm gonna have to do it all again. I don't want to lose points in my first year" he sighed "I'm George by the way" he introduced himself. This was strange, he was talking as if he'd know this boy for years, and even then, he was still talking a lot.

Rhea nodded when Vanessa suggested they make sure that the rest of the students weren't cold. She had done a good job of warming up Wes a bit and thought that they could help out in that area. She turned to Wes.
"O.k Wes, If I can recall exactly how the professor taught us to transfigure leaves into blankets I could get some leaves and conjure up a few blankets for everyone." She told the younger student. Rhea frowned a bit, her face screwed up in concentration. She had only successfully transfigured a leaf into a blanket once and hoped that she would get it right this time.
In one swift motion she got up from the table and ran to the great hall door and pointed her wand towards the ground.
"Accio leaves!"
Seconds later leaves were zooming towards her.
She returned to the table with her arms full of leaves.
"O.k. Let's see if I remember how to do this.." She dumped the leaves unto the table and pointed her wand at them. Tapping the leaves lightly she watched as they enlarged and fuzzed. She frowned. Fuzzy leaves were definitely not going to work. She tried again....more fuzz. Rhea relaxed her shoulders then breathed in deeply. She would try again. She pointed her wand at the leaves and muttered the incantation and finally, she had a nice bundle of warm yellow and black blankies. She grinned at Wes.
"Great! Now you can help me hand them out."

"I'm O.k thanks. But Wes and I could use some help handing out these blackets," she said to the girl.

"Are you sure?" Vanessa asked with a smile, she looked a little scared, but she should be okay now, especially now that were out of the flood and in the nice, warm, dry great hall. "Are you that wet?" She asked, as she couldn't really tell as the girl was sitting down. She might have been cold too actually, but wouldn't she have said?
Vanessa was glad that Wesley was with an older hufflpuff, at least that meant that both the girls would hopefully be okay. "Well...I think we're okay for now Rhea..." Vanessa nodded, but thought that they probably would want to do something instead of just sitting there. "Maybe you could go and make sure that all the hufflepuff's aren't too cold, and if they are call me okay?"
Wesley nodded, "No, really I'm fine! I'm dry now," she shot Rhea a thankful smile, then looked back at Vanessa,"Honestly." Wide eyed and serious, Wesley nodded again for emphasis, then grinned.
Cocking her head to the side, grin fading, she stared at the prefect for a moment then asked, "How about you? How are you doing?" Wesley felt stupid for asking, but she couldn't help wonder if anyone had asked Vanessa that. Vanessa was busy taking care of everybody; who was taking care of Vanessa? If she was Vanessa, she would be really tired right now. And in need of some butterbeer. Maybe she should get Vanessa some butterbeer or something to drink -she could go to the kitchens and ask! Wesley opened her mouth to ask if the prefect was thirsty, then closed it. Wait. Aren't the kitchens flooded?"OH NO! THE HOUSE-ELVES!" Wesley screamed, realization hitting her. Then she blushed awkwardly from the outburst. Wesley thought house-elves were scary- but it didn't mean she wanted them to die. Wesley didn't want anyone to die. And they had helped her that time when she had fainted. They had been so nice! "Are they okay? I haven't seen any?" She asked, softer, worried for their safety.

She chuckled.
"O.K Wes I'll ask her if she needs any help and offer our services," she said, her tone taking on an amused air.
It wasn't until Wes had replied to Vanessa that Rhea realized she was talking to them. She hoped she didn't think she was ignoring her.
"I'm sorry Vanessa, yes we're fine. We were kind of wondering if you needed any help with getting things in order and everyone settled." she said to her House prefect, hoping for Wesley's sake she didn't deny them. She wasn't sure how Wes would take it. The girl seemed really emotional.
Wesley smiled at Rhea, sending her a look that said 'Thank you!' Wesley was so happy she had met Rhea; she'd probably be hyperventilating right now without her.
Then Vanessa said that they didn't need any help. Wesley's shoulders sagged, dejectedly. It wasn't that she was sad; okay, she was sad. But it could have been a lot worse, she told herself, they didn't say she couldn't help- just that they didn't need help. So it's not like they needed help but didn't want me to help. It's not like that, right? Maybe it is..., Wesley shook her head, No, Vanessa isn't like that. She wouldn't lie to me. She's the prefect and prefects don't lie.
But then Vanessa suggested that they could help everybody get warm. "OKAY! We'll do it!" Wesley exclaimed, perking up. Then she nodded, seriously, "You can count on us."

"I'm O.k thanks. But Wes and I could use some help handing out these blackets," she said to the girl.
Wesley nodded excitedly as Rhea told her the plan, amazed at the Hufflepuff's ability to create brilliant plans. "I'll get the leaves!" she said, hopping out of her seat and following Rhea, but before she knew it, the scarlet, orange, and brown November leaves were flying through the door, straight into the older girl. "Rhea! Watch out!" Wesley screamed, worried they would hit her. But the older girl caught them triumphantly. "Oh! Sorry!" Wesley apologized, "That was really neat!"
Wesley picked up the ones that had scattered around and added her leaves to Rhea's jumbo pile. Then she watched, excited.
The leaves turned fuzzy. Very fuzzy. Wesley didn't know whether to laugh or be scared. She had never seen a fuzzy leaf before. Tentatively she reached out to touch one, then pulled back fast. Wesley didn't want to interfere with Rhea's magic. Plus, she didn't know if they were going to explode or something.
They turned a little fuzzier as Rhea tried again. Wesley wasn't sure if this is what Rhea had meant by blankets, but judging by the older girl's frustrated look, it wasn't. Wesley opened her mouth to tell Rhea it was okay. The first-year could never do her spells right- she had totally drowned the entire saloon during her Defence Against the Dark Arts homework. But before she could say anything, the fuzzy leaves turned into fuzzy blankets. Hufflepuff colors! "You did it Rhea! You did it!" Wesley said exuberantly, jumping up and down.
"Okey-dokey!" The tiny Hufflepuff agreed, ready to begin blanket distributing.
Her efforts to pick up as many blankets as possible were interrupted by another friendly girl, offering Rhea a tissue. Was Rhea crying? Wesley looked over at the older Hufflepuff girl, brow furrowed with worry. She did the spell right, there's no reason to be sad. Did I say something wrong? Wesley went over what she had said, 'Okey Dokey'? Rhea said I could help. Oh- I hope I didn't do something wrong... She looked closer at Rhea, there were some tear tracks, but Wesley was certain those were from earlier, not now.
Still trying to figure it out, the tiny girl was relieved when Rhea said she was okay. So Wesley went back to grabbing blankets. She lifted a TON. Too many! Her pile tipped over, blankets landing on the floor.
"Yeah! We could really use some help!" Wesley said after Rhea suggested the girl work with them, "Ooops!" More fuzzy blankets dropped. She grinned bashfully at Rhea and the other girl, "See? Lot's of help!"

"Oooh...You're not too wet are you?" Vanessa asked as she quickly checked his robes. He was taller than her, so he probably was going to be less wet anyway, considering that the majority of her legs up to the middle of he thighs were wet. "No...not usually...That's whats worrying." Vanessa frowned, hoping that Professor Lawson was okay, she hadn't seen him since she had left the dreary waters.
"Yes your bad Torin." Vanessa chuckled, as she smiled at him. He seemed okay to be honest. "I hope everyone's okay."

She had been too busy making sure that everyone else was okay to really think about herself. But she had to do that, she was the prefect. "I....I don't know." She spoke quietly. Sure she was out of there, but all her stuff was. "But I will be...once a professor gets here...Then we'll find out stuff." She nodded, trying to reassure herself more than anything.
"And...I'm sure Professor Lawson will have gone to get the elves Wesley...he won't have left them." She nodded, he had sent them off, so he probably was going to get the elves. "We can find out later okay?"

Rhea watched as Wes started gathering up the blankets that she had just transfigured, admiring the girl's willingness to help others and her genuine concern for everyone else.
Wes was truly unlike most of the other students at Hogwarts. She smiled, feeling proud that she was in Hufflepuff. She was the friendliest person she had met in a very long time.
Rhea laughed as she tried to take up a large bundle of blankets and dropped some. Not only was she sweet, she was also amusing.
"Careful Wes," she said getting up to pick up the blankets that Wes had accidentally tipped unto the floor.
"You can take the first few to Vanessa and her friends and I'll see about getting some to the south side of the table," she said inclining her head in that direction.
ooc: you can ask a mod to help you with that if you like ^.^

Varius arrived at the Hufflepuff table, still rather wet, after attempting to clear the kitchens out and bring the flooding to the attention of the other staff members. He just wanted his bed more than anything now, and it appeared that this was unlikely given the circumstances. The Hufflepuffs would probably merge with the Ravenclaws, as the Gryffindors and Slytherins had done. Some tea or coffee would be nice right about now. He took a seat and watched about him as his fellow housemates continued conversations, looking particularly worried about the floods. The teachers would fix it afterall, right?

Once Varius arrived, Lyra left her things on the table and looked at Vannie. "So everything okay?" She was not near as wet as Varius was, it was only her feet. Poor thing. "And what are we going to do about food?"
Seeing Lyra, he grabbed a cup of coffee from the table and walked over to his older friend. "Lyra, did everyone get out okay? Where's Professor Lawson and the elves?"

"Alright" Ash said grabing a few blankets and walking along her house table handing blankets to the shiverng hufflepuffs, and even the non shivering ones. Keeping a blanket for herself Ash sat back down at the table and reached over and picked up a cup of hot tea.

"Gabbennnnnnnnn!" She hadn't seen the Huffie all year and yet, she was still in her Hufflepuff PJs but she had her clothes and shoes that were lying on the table. YUP! She was ready! "How have you been?"
"Food shouldn't be too big a problem... we have Hogsmeade just outside the castle at least," Varius answered, rather logically might I add. "Professor Lawson and the elves must still be down there... I hope they get out soon, that water isn't going to stay low for much longer. I got the other Professors from the staff room, they'll manage to help... I hope. What an inconvenience this whole flooding nonsense is."

Christine walked over to the hufflepuff house table looking a mess. She was still shaken from what had just happened in the kitchen corridor. She was able to dry herself off partially, but was not able to concentrate on the spell. She sat at the table partially wet, covered in dirt and alge. She shivered, feeling the cold down in her bones. She picked up a cup of hot cocoa and drank a gulp, feeling the drink warming her up on the inside.

"Well...they probably didnt think it was going to get that bad..." Vannie smiled at the younger girl, at least she seemed okay. "If you do get cold ask though okay?" She nodded, before the girl introduced herself. "I'm Vanessa Corbette...but you can call me Vannie." She smiled, but then raised her eyebrow at her reaction to Torin pulling her hair.
Since no one from the staffs camp came down to care the students in the Great hall, Alice felt sad and bit upset. They were supposed tobe here by the time. She shook her head in disappointment. "Nice to meet you Vaniee," she smiled but it was vanished quickly as that Torin boy pulling her hair. "See, he's misbehaving even in front of you," she lodged a complaint to her prefect. Good.

Alice didnt like the look on his face. He was flirt. A big flirt. She had seen him flirting to Herbology Professor before and now the prefect girl. Eeeek! She looked away to maintin her remaining compsure which had been already in bay by his inappropriate behaviour. How dare he pulled her hair!! What rights he had on her?! And then he was standing like as if he had done something heroic.
"What? You yourself is bad. Keep your hands with yourself, right?" she glared at him. Why she? Why he was targetting her always?! She frowned.
