Julie weaved her way through a crowd of students to get to her seat. She mumbled, 'Scuze me. to a boy she bumped.

SCORE.

"Not at all," he smirked back, moving to the opposite side of the kid and taking a firm hold of that kid's arm. He kept a mildly unamused expression on his face as he waited for Lawson to start pulling the kid. Neo was already ready to pull this kid to the table by his ankle.

"If you are sucha fully grown wizard then why do you need help" Ricco said as he watched the two wizards exachange glances to each other. He was ready for giving up but decided to give it a little longer before he decided to budge.

"Thank you" Ash replied looking down at her plate

Ah he loved it when others were on the same page as himself. "The astronomy tower's looking pretty good right now isn't it Mr Masterton? Such a lovely night for...watching things fly threw the air." He smirked again and started pulling the boy towards the staff table.

"Oh I don't need help mate. Just didn't want to leave Mr Masterton out of the fun that was all." Marcus leaned forward slightly and spoke in a low voice. "And we are going to have soooo much fun with you."

Constantine laughed. "Yeah, you know. I hear that there's this rope up there that is PERFECT for hanging thickheaded students by their ankles out a window. I'm in a mood for trying it, what do you say Professor Lawson? Oh! Oh! Perhaps we can leave him deep in the Forbidden Forest where all the lovely werewolves live. I'm sure they're looking for dinner right now."

Ricco just looked at them blankly, since this was his first official moment in the magical world he had abssolutly no idea what they were talking about, all he could make out was the first wanted to shoot him out of a cannon and the second wanted to feed him to wolves.

OHHHH! Varius was here! Lyra missed their small but eventful chats last year as she didn't get to spend too much time with him. "Awww! No one has called me ExpelledGirl since you," she giggled as she turned her attention to Cela but then stopped as towards the other end of the table seemed to be quite a commotion going on...

And that BIRD BOY no doubt! Gah! There was a reason she ran from his compartment and now she was seeing first hand just what he was made of. So the boy thought he was IT with the professors? Her green eyes watched for a moment and then she knew....He costs them POINTS! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Oh just let her at him!

"Well, there goes our chances to outshine in points as once again, the Huffies seem to have the HOT HEADED kids. Goodie." She rolled her eyes turning back to Cela so she could at least drabble in an excellent conversation and not have points removed off of her...unless she was to trip that GRUMPY OLD MAN...smile...

WHOA! Time to enjoy DADA once more! "Ooohhh! New Professor," her voice perked up as she looked to the handsome man...the one she recognized from Diagon Alley. "Mmmmm! And mymymy...that would be my favorite subject." NO MORE OLDIEEEEEEEE! WOOT! OH but what was he going to teach? Sad thing was, she LOVED his classes, even though she didn't like him.

Christine almost chocked on her pumpkin juice when she heard Mr. Masterson and the other guy talking about hanging a student out the window by his feet. Now that Christine thought about it, she had no idea who this other guy was. She had never seen him before, so he had to be new. Excuse me, are you a new professor here? she asked while cleaning the pumpkin juice off herself.

Ricco finally made his way back to the table after a long talk from sevaral teachers. As soon as the feast was done he was going to head down to the Dungeons to see what his detention was going to be like. Ricco was willing to do anything to get out of it but he decided that he might aswell face his punishment.

Robert entered the Great Hall in his newly decked out clothes that very much stated how wealthy he actually was rather than his normal robes which he had had for so long and never cared. It was practically a new him...practically. After spotting Mari at the Ravie table he clenched his jaw and walked over toward the Hufflepuff table to find Lyra.

After looking down the table he spotted her, walking over toward he he heard her comment and laughed as he pushed two first years down the table and sat down next to her. "And what class would this be?" he said casually with a smirk.

Lyra leaned back as she noticed two Huffies being pushed out of the way and there stood a rather talllllllllllllllllllll guy..."Robert!" Lyra's shocking eyes gazed at her Ravenclaw friend as her jaw was wide open. The boy grew an attitude...something was definitely wrong! "Have a seat, dear friend and tell Aunt Lyra all about it." She patted the seat next to her since he obviously wanted to sit there anyway.

Robert looked at Lyra and smiled as he sat down. "Aunt Lyra? Since when have you become ten years older than me?" He turned and looked at the first year who had turned to look back at him and seemed to be inching his way closer. "Is there something you don't understand about move?" he said harshly and shook his head. "Bloody first years."

He turned back to Lyra and shook his head. "Okay...so you helped me with my shopping, which I am much appreciative of. I suppose you get to know what happened." Pulling out a piece of parchment that looked as if it had been folded and refolded too many times he handed it to her and turned to stare at the food in front of him, not really feeling hungry.

Oh! So she was a good little girl and now she got the special treat? How sweet. Lyra's eyes narrowed towards Robert as she had one thing to say before she opened that letter. "You know, I'm so happy that you make it out like I am the good girl doing the good deed," she stated as she began to slowly open the piece of parchment. "But I am far from it, Rob." She finally opened up the parchment and before reading...

"Nice threads by the way..." She was speaking of his new attire of clothing and then she began to read with a smirk on her face.

The letter was from Mari, his girlfriend....

NOT his girlfriend...

The smirk erased from her lips as they were now parting as her jaw began to droop in amazement. Amazement that THIS GIRL, that Rob thought SO MUCH OF was cheating on him. CHEATINGGGGGGGGGGGGG! As she continued reading, she inhaled deeply, only to push the air through her nose as she closed her mouth. Her lips began to tighten as her anger grew.

And then she read the last word...

She sat for a moment just looking...and gazing...trying her best to not crumble the piece of paper in her hand. Slowly she folded it back, using the same creases he used before and handed it back to him without looking. She had to take a deep breath and create her own countdown for if she opened her mouth, especially since BIRD BOY, Detention Hufflepuff man made his way back to the table, she was liable to say something she didn't need too. She folded her hands together as she began to breathe in a normal fashion once more.

"So she didn't have enough guts to tell you to your face?" Pitiful thing. "I guess on her end of being a Ravenclaw she was smart...and scared...and chicken." Now her green eyes looked at her friend as her head snapped in his direction. "Do NOT let me near her at any point of this year.

"I mean it!"

Robert kept his eyes locked on the food in front of him as Lyra read the letter that he could now recite without the bloody thing in his hand. His jaw clenched as did his fists on the table and he risked a glance at Lyra to see the reaction praying it wasn't pity. The look of anger and maybe shock that he found made him realize how much Lyra meant to him as a friend. She could understand. He knew she could, why he hadn't told her earlier was beyond him.

He ignored her question and remark on Mari's character honestly not blaming her. She knew his temper more than anyone and it rivaled his fathers.... He closed his eyes on the thought. Another time to analyze that. Hearing her words he turned to face her and shook his head, "I hadn't intended to be around her so you shouldn't be near her." His voice was a whisper but the anger was deep and profound. There would be no way around this one.

Taking the letter he put it back into his inside pocket and glared around the Great Hall. "Can I ask you a question?" he asked quietly before turning to look at her again, his face hard but his eyes, always the tell, not. "You've heard me talk about my father...do you think I'm becoming like him?" His worst fears spoken out loud and yet the weight wasn't lifted and probably wouldn't be no matter what Lyra said.

Lyra turned her head back to stare at nothing in front of her as her thoughts began to roam around in anger. But then she heard Rob's question. What was it with the father's of today? Were they all bad and mean and cruel or did it just happen that most of her friends shared the same problems as she.

"Not around me you're not," she answered truthfully as she finally turned her head to acknowledge his question. "And trust me, if you were, then I'd say something." She looked back to the table and picked up a strawberry to eat. "And I'm not one to hold my tongue when it comes to being honest. I'll tell you like it is."

Her eyes glued themselves back to Rob as, once again, she really meant every word she spoke. The girl had a temper and she was ready to use it. Look out Mia Rose because Lyra has finally found someone to out do that Hufflepuff.

Alice rubbed her forehead, figured Sarah got her point and not sulking over that matter. Good sign. She smiled back at her, "Exactly Sarah, You got my point that I'm glad my lil naughty sister," giggled, "Yeah, the safety." she paused, "It's the main thing, and remember the house points too.." she smirked, looking over at the hall which was getting nearly full by the time. It was wonderful to see the four colors and the whole atmosphere. Alice already started to like this place.


Alice's eyes didnt miss the shiny Prefect badge on one of the boy's robes who was sitting in the same table. She hesitated a moment before talked to him, "Hi. I'm Alice" she smiled and introduced herself shyly, "I'm new here. May I know what's the procedure here? " she asked quietly, "Is this food time?" her voice dropped to so soft.

Now down to two clipboards, Vindictus looked around for one Hufflepuff student in particular. "Kaika! I've got something for you!" he yelled over the loud chatter at the Hufflepuff table.

Torin slowly walked towards the Hufflepuff Table, feeling like he didn't belong there at all. He didn't know any of these people. It was a good thing that Dani was in the same House as him at least. I really need to start making friends here, he said as a mental note to himself as he took a seat. At least he was hungry.

Lyra was in deep conversation with another girl, she was older too. As they spoke he turned around in his seat, trying to get a better view of the great hall. Legend wasn’t too far behind him in line; surely he’d already been placed.

Then, he grinned mischievously as a familiar face came walking across. Katie was a Hufflepuff too after all. “Ay’ Lyra, I’ll catch up to yah’ latah’.” He have her a bit of a small solute, and sprinted over to Katie, thumping her on the shoulder as he pounced into the seat next to her.

“Sistah Sledge!” He announced loud in clear in his rather thick Aussie accent. “How honored ah’ you to be in the same house as your truly?” His wry grin was in full force was he took a sip out of the Goblet. IT WAS PUMPKIN JUICE! He loved pumpkin juice.

Danika followed behind Torin. She sat down next to her brother. She took in all the food that was around here. "Wow." she said to her brother. She took a small serving of chicken and started to pick at it. She was still nervous. "Torin, this is good." she told him.

Well, the pumpkin juice was delicious as usual, and...ooooh...look at that! The table was suddenly filled with students. She spotted a few familiar faces, the Denton one being one those, there was also Emalyn, so her face lit up. There were brand new faces too, and she'll have to get to know those few new students as well.

No, not because of Quidditch, but because Huffies are supposed to get to know each other, right?

She overheard someone saying something about a new professor, and that comment made her look to the Staff Table and the others. Oh, good! Prof. Kazimeriz was still within the staff, so...perfect! No need to panic.

But a quite familiar voice made her stood up for some strange reason. Was Vindictus calling for her? Yes, he was. "Hey Professor!" she said, walking over to him, "What is it?" she said, as if it was something that happened oh-so-regularly.

"Ah, there you are! Here's your tryout clipboard," Vindictus said as he handed it to her. "I can't stay and chat, so enjoy the feast and stop by my office after you get settled in. Don't forget to tell Denton that he has a few hairs out of place and remind Lyra that pink heels are not part of the school regulation uniforms." He chuckled and waved before heading over to the Gryffindor table.

She smiled and took the clipboard from his hands, "Alright, thanks Professor!" she said, the term was finally beginning to feel oh-so-real. Tryouts, again. This was simply brilliant, and awesome, and so Quidditch-like. But, of course he had to mention Denton. Sigh.

"I will" Kaika nodded, although it will be difficult for Lyra to leave her pink heels away during the rest of the school year. No one will force them out on her. As she tried to picture that, a small smile formed on her face again.

Speaking of Quidditch....and Gryffindor...

Alexis was now graduated, right? That must mean....yes, new Captain...and if she'd heard correctly, Slytherin gained a new one as well. She'll have to meet them properly, but it was time to eat at the moment...so, later, later.

Spotting someone who could cheer him up in a heartbeat William got up and walked up to the Hufflepuff table, his eyes searching the ground. Why he thought his hat was around here he had no idea, but hey he didn't know where it was. Stopping behind Katie he couldn't help but smile as he said, " Hey Katie, I was looking for you!" as he stood there, hands by his side.

Instead of waiting for her to acknowledge him he sat down beside her, but far enough away to not touch her and grinned, his soft blue eyes now twinkling. If anyone could help him it was her.
