"Okay sir," Varius nodded obediently, "Check the kitchens and i'll go try and get some staff after that too... Maybe I could see how Professor Truebridge got on?"

He left the common room without another word, assuming the girl would follow.

"Right Professor, I will." She smiled as she looked at the Professor. "I promise I won't be a hero." She smiled as she headed towards the Kitchens. "I'll come and find you when we are done." She said heading towards the kitchens.

*Gabben shot up to a sitting state right as the professors spell hit him.* "Wha-?"
*He heard the professor and nodded. Now covered in water Gabben got up and went down to the great hall rubbing his head.*

Cedric was walkin towards their common room as he saw a familiar face."Hey Gabben,in a hurry huh?"Cedric asked as he waved to his friend and then entered in their common room.He saw Sarah there,the girl he met in the pathways.He waved,smiled and winked to the girl."Hi Sarah!"

Sarah looked at the boy who she had met earlier. "What do you think you are doing in here?" She snapped, she was glad she had come back for one last look around. "Can't you see this W...H...O...L...E place is about to flood?" She was getting angry now. "Well come on I'm going as it is I just thought I'd see if anyone was still in here after checking the kitchen to make sure that everyone was out." She shook her head, he didn't even seem to have noticed that the floor was wet, her shoes were ruined and he was acting like nothing had happened. "Well want you waiting for, come on." She snapped.

Marcus walked back into the common room to make sure there were no students left over. And of course there was, did the water on the floor not evidence enough that something was wrong. "Oi, Cedric the common room has been evacuated. So why are you in here? GET OUT...NOW!!" He shook his head and headed up to the dormitories.

He turned at the sound of a girl's voice. "And why have you returned to the common room. If the kitchens have been cleared then you should have gone to the Great Hall. Now both you of you go and do not come back in here."

"Oh yeah,I've just forgot my wand but its with me now."Cedric replied to Marcus.What was happening in Hogwarts???First it was Slytherin common room then hufflepuff,what's next then??
"OH,yeah we need to out now,Sarah."Cedric said then take Sarah's hand and then rushed outside.How lovely to touch Sarah's hand ,for him and he was satisfied cause he got his backpacks,food and candies and even his friends.

"I came to see if you were in here Professor." She smiled at him. "I remembered you saying you were coming back here." She wanted to say something now what was it, oh yeah. "That second year boy has gone to the staffroom to get the staff and the sixth year boy says that everything seems good in the Kitchen." She smiled at him. "Now I am off." She was off since Cedric was grabbing her hand and forcing her out of the corridor.

"Let's go now Sarah.."Cedric replied,"Hei Marcuse,Let's outta here now."Cedric sighed worrying about his friends and professors Hoping that he can help fellow hufflepuffs.

The water was rising at a faster pace. It was now at knee level... it was scary... the water was dark and dank... green with algea. It was getting into everything that it could.

Dominic grimaced as he heard his co-prefect groaning from being splashed with a little water. Serves her right! But whatever, he had still saved her shoes... so she shouldn't complain about a little splashing.

"Of course, Co... Prefect Corbette," he corrected, smiling musingly at the seventh year. Oh good! She had them in a bag... Using his hands to help himself up, he glanced around the common room, pleased to see girls and boys leaving without too much hardship.

Except... Varius was serious about vanishing the water... Shaking his head in bewilderment as the boy tried, he was about to try himself when the door to the common room swung open and the new DADA professor entered...

Well, Professor Lawson entered along with several other Hufflepuffs, even as some left. What did Cedric think he was doing anyway!? Nodding regardless in acknowledgment of the Professor's thanks, he started himself in making his way towards the exit. Though he would not exit until the common room was completely void of badgers - since as one of the house prefects, he should make sure all was clear.

"The boys dormitory is clear," Dominic confirmed with the Professor, since Varius had been the last up there.

And then the water continued to rise, no reaching mid calf, almost up to his knees. It probably was enveloping most of Vanessa's legs by now. "Vanesssa? You may wish to head out first..." Since he was the taller of the pair, he would ensure everyone was out with Professor Lawson. Even if the dark water and algae was sort of creepy.

"Professor Lawson?" He called, but the DADA professor had already disappeared to double check on the dormitories it seemed, so Dominic simply waited...

Lawson doubled back when he heard the Prefect's voice. "Yes Mr Denton? Was there something you needed?" Or did you merely think I could not handle the situation and you wanted to play heroics?

"Whatever it is, it can wait. Make sure your students get up to the Great Hall Mr Denton. I can handle the rest." Marcus, stood and waited to make sure the boy left.

Dominic blinked at the slight animosity he thought he heard in Lawson's voice. Weird . . . he was only trying to be Prefect. Shaking it off though, as the last thing he needed was for Lawson to get the wrong idea and start docking points or something, the sixth year just simply shook his head.

"No... No, I'm good, just checking um... if you were still here? Thank you though," he nodded and ushered the last couple badgers from the common room - including his co-prefect - and with one last contemptuous look around his home for the past two years, Dominic Denton left the common room.

Marcus sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He hadn't meant to sound so abrupt but he was having a really BAD day and now it was flooding AGAIN. Ugh...that stupid Aparecium. First Cari, is angry with him about it and now Zan, seems annoyed with him.

He shook his head and turned back to the task at hand and that was checking to make the dormitories were all clear.

Constantine ran into the Hufflepuff Common Room as quickly as he could have managed. Seriously, being thirty-three and running all the way from the other side of the grounds to the kitchens was not an easy feat. Oh well, it shortened the things to do on his work out list.

"Is everyone out of here," he called over to Lawson, as he started to wade in to the flooded common room.

Lawson looked over his shoulder at Masterton. "I'm just about to check the dormitories. You can check the boys if you like and I will check the girls." He moved towards the door that held the female dorm's, "Apparently the kids already checked but I would like to make absolute sure that there is no-one left behind."

The water kept its ascent, very dirty, full of algae and soil from upstream, foaming and most of all, dangerous.. Instead of flowing sleepily as it did in the dungeons, this time it was rolling very fast. Instead of rippling peacefully, it roared as it took down everything in it's path. It was as if the water was angry...

The water stopped it's ascent as it touched the ceiling.

As Arethusa said, the water was drained out, the injuries healed, and everything was restored to normal.

Giving the common room door the password forcefully, Cy made his way into the common room. His dark brown eyes looked behind himself at Vannie in dismay. "Hurry up, I swear, you ah' slower than me' gran."

Cy grinned wryly and did a running jump onto the big comfy sofa. School was almost out! Which meant a nice long summer back in Australia with all of his muggle friends.

Denton was coming too right?

"Cyrus. I am nearly 18 I do not run down corridors." Vanessa grinned as she followed him down to the hufflepuff common room. EEEH. Her common room. She was so glad she was able to see this place once more before she graduated.
"I've never been so happy to see so much yellow." She smiled happily. This was much more home than that ravenclaw tower had been.

Giggling she sat down on the sofa opposite Cy, really before something dawned on her. These were going to be some of her last memories in the common room. Meh. She didnt want to graduate.

Oh they were back in their OWN common room right on the Kitchen Level again! Dominic wasn't sure how exactly it happened, since he'd sort of let the other students do the work in negotiations or whatever was needed to stop the flooding... but yay! Not that he minded terribly being closer to the Ravenclaw Captain, but he had to admit that even he felt the tensions between the two houses after they killed the eagles for the quidditch cup, but then the eagles narrowly won the Gobstones match. Getting even, the sixth year supposed.

Nonetheless, it felt good to be standing outside their own place again and Dominic just stood there for a moment, reveling in the fact before entering to the familiar gold and black common room. Right behind the quite rambunctious Australian Hufflepuff first year and chaser, Cyrus Andrus.

Indifferent over the fellow, Dom shook his head as the boy did a running jump onto the sofa. No point in scolding; it was the end of term and they just got their common room back. Sighhhhh; it DID feel good to be home, Dom decided as he took a seat on the sofa, stretching out on it.

Scoffing, Cy looked to Vannie with a frown. "It's not yellow mate, it's gold." Because gold was soooo much cooler than gross yellow. Well, so thought the first year.

Looking at the two older kids as they joined him on the coach, he sighed. His first year, it was officially over. He was no longer going to be looked at as the rookie, the incapable little firstie. "What are you gonna be off doin' next year?" He asked, eyebrow raised at Vannie.

"Yes...Gold Cyrus." Vanessa giggled, as she smiled at the younger boy. But whatever. It was still there common room, and she was very glad to be back in it. At least for the last few days she could spend it in the common room where she belonged.

"Hey Dom." She smiled at her co-prefect, whom she really hadn't seen that much during the term. Then Cy spoke, and she turned back to him. "Well....Thats to Professor Morgan I've been able to get on a intern healer program at St Mungos." She nodded, smiling. She was really looking forward to it.

Dominic stifled a snicker at Cyrus' scoffing and reminder of their house color being gold. He didn't know Cyrus too well, but from what he could tell, the boy was a trip. But then the first year had addressed his co-prefect, who it only dawned on him now that she had followed Cy into the common room and was sitting at the other end of the couch he was on, about her plans after graduation.

"Hello Vanessa," he returned the greeting, and then greeted the first year as well. "And Cyrus." Oh... Vanessa was going to study along the path of healing? Interesting, although not something he wanted to pursue. He didn't really know what he wanted, but like Truebridge pointed out, with his OWL results, he had options. "So, what made you decide to go for Healing?" Because Dominic clearly didn't know Amelia Rose, nor that Vanessa was a 'Mini-Mia' ;P.
