Emalyn skipped into the common room.
"Wow." she stared around. She had never really been there when it was completely vacant. Though she could hear people coming, she smiled at the thought that she was probably the first Huffie in here for the term. Yay!
She hugged herself with the anticipation of a new term, drinking in the sight of the common room, so warm and welcoming.

Third year, baby!

Tired and slightly emotional from being apart from her boyfriend, Lyra made her way from the Opening Feast to the Hufflepuff common room as her first and only stop for the rest of the night. She had plenty of things to do, one of them she had to write a letter and visit her owl, Nico, first thing in the morning. It was all she could do to keep herself busy and her mind away from him. Second thing on the list for tomorrow, Professor Bunbunz, her fave!

Varius entered through the little tunnel that led to his rather cosy common room. Yes, his. Let's face it -- Varius was Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff did not exist without him. Oh yes! And I am sure others would agree... like ExpelledGirl over there.

He went over and sat beside ExpelledGirl, not asking if she minded as his per usual. "So," he began, not even bothering to say hi since he had just saw her at the feast moments before, "I think I am going to retire your 'ExpelledGirl' nickname... afterall, you managed all of last term without losing your place at Hogwarts... so maybe i'll just call you EducatedGirl or maybe just... Lyra. Thoughts?"

Who needed to discuss such important things like house politics and winning the cup, when we could be discussing the even more important selection of nicknames!

Cedric entered their common room.He totally missed this place.He rushed near the fire and sat waiting for his other friends to come in.He spend many happy times in this place so he always love to be there

Biting his lip, Jake stepped furtively into the Common Room, looking around for the one person he wanted to speak to; Dominic.

Nope.

Still, it was a relief to be back in here, like, one huge breath after being submerged under water for some time. As he let the image of the room sink in, knowing that he would be here for months, and let that comfort him, Jake eyed a sofa in the perfect place.

But, instead of seating himself, Jake sat perched on the back of it, facing the entrance to the Common Room. His small body was not yet heavy enough to tilt the sofa. Not heavy enough by far.

So, in his position, Jake waited for Dominic to enter, which would surely happen at some point.

Checking that the shiny new badge was straight one last time, Vanessa Corbette, the new seventh year Prefect, stepped into the common room. She looked around, there wasn't that many of her fellow Hufflepuff's here yet. That was good. Maybe she could just sit down, and relax for a while, before everyone got here. Glancing around as she walked, she smiled at the hufflepuff's in there, before sitting down in a comfy arm chair, and closing her eyes briefly. This year was going to be busy.

Wesley stumbled into the common room, relieved to find herself in the right place. Dizzily, too sick to be scared, she took in the unfamiliar faces.

The girl had barely made it through the sorting; afterwards Wesley ran straight out the hall and somehow made it to the restroom, where she vomited from motion sickness. Having been too nervous, the tiny 11 year old had skipped breakfast and lunch, and was regretting it now. Throwing up nothing was worse than throwing up something.

Her stomach aching, she took two weak steps and dropped dead. Wesley had fainted.

Noticing a new first year, or most probably a new first year, rather, Jake watched as the girl moved across the room... or rather, tried, before she fainted.

Hesitating a moment, Jake jumped down from the back of the sofa and wandered over, not too quickly, not too slowly. There were memories positively flooding back to him from last year in the library.

But, taking a deep breath, Jake looked around, spotting a new Prefect. "Erm... Vannie?" he said uncertainly, eyeing the girl and then looking down at the one on the floor. "Erm... I think she's..."

Well, I don't know.

Ahh this was nice. It wasn't too busy yet, at least till more puff's got here.
She was just about to sigh, and doze off for a little, when she heard her name. Opening her eyes, she looked for the source of her name. Ahh Jake. Oh. And some girl was lying on the floor. Oh great. So much for relaxing now.

Pushing herself off of the nice, comfty arm chair, the prefect made her way over to the pair, dropping onto her knees, to assess the situation. "I think she's fainted." She commented, glancing down at the girl. She didn't look very well. "We need to take her to the Hospital wing....unless she wakes up."

Unless she wakes up...

"Ohhh, I can do that," Jake nodded, looking around him and wandering off to find a glass of water, which he saw on the table.

...

What was a glass of water doing there?

"Erm, I don't trust myself to use my wand here... so..." Jake trailed of, trotting back over and spilling water as he went, before splashing the glass over the girl's face and crouching down next to her. "Are you awake?" he asked her loudly. "Hellooooooooooo?"

Vanessa watched Jake curiously as he said he could wake the girl up? He could? Really. Cocking her head to the side, she watched him go and pick up a glass of water. Was he going to? Oh no. "Jake." She shook her head, but it was too late, she had already splashed the girls face with the water, and the bottom of Vannie's robes.

"That wasn't...exactly what i meant Jake." She frowned. "Shes probably younger than you. Would you like it if I did that to you?" She shook her head, not like she'd throw water over him. But she glanced at the girl again, to see if she was going to wake up.

Ema stood up to see what the comotion was. "What happened?" she eyed the girl on the ground curiously. "Well she doesn't look too healthy..." she muttered, peering at her. Jake and Vanessa had splashed water on her face. Ema stood a few feet away, waiting. She hoped the young girl was alright.

Turning to look up at Vannie, Jake shrugged. "Errrm... honestly? I don't think I'd mind," Jake explained, considering the matter. "I mean, it's still quite hot. If it was cold, or we were in a freezer... I wouldn't like it," Jake rambled, looking back down at the girl and rolling her onto her side into the recovery position, so she didn't choke or something, then he sat back on his knees and waited for her to wake up.

Melanie entered the common room, practically restored to the happiness she'd been feeling before the train after talking to a few fellow Huffies after that whole ordeal at the staff table...she'd somehow managed to shove that to the back of her head.

That was, of course, until now. Melanie's lips parted with surprise as she noticed Jake in the common room already ....talking to Ema, an older girl and looking at some first year who was laying on the ground with her eyes closed. Hmpf...It wasn't that late yet. Melanie wondered briefly why she'd fallen asleep on the common room floor, before deciding it was none of her business. She didn't feel like getting involved in any sort of drama so soon, so she walked casually by the the small group, carefully stepping over the other girl's feet as she went along her way (as she was right in front of the door) and sinking into one of the common room's soft couches, watching with wide curious eyes as she peered over the arm of the couch. Totally not getting involved...Nope, Nada, Zilch.

Though she waaaaas sorta eavesdropping...

Deciding they may not appreciate her watching them like an interesting TV show she quickly averted her eyes, looking around the common room as if searching out someone to talk to. She may as well be whistling and twiddling her thumbs.

Sarah clambered into the Hufflepuff common room yawning her head off.The feast had gone on so long,and she had eaten so much,that she was feeling positively bloated.
Rubbing her eyes she wasn't looking where she was going and bumped into someone...or someones.
Jake and the new prefect.Oooops.
"Sorry about that guys,bit tired and not looking...." she trailed off as the scene in front of her came into focus.Was that a first year out cold on the floor? A wet first year?
"Ummm this may sound like a stupid question," she stuttered,as her brain came back to life. "But what is going on? And why is she wet?"
Standing there scratching her head,Sarah decided that today was mighty strange...Yep mighty strange.

Sputtering, Wesley opened her her eyes after being doused in lukewarm water. A thousand questions ran through her head: why was she on the ground? Where was she? And why was that boy's hair pink? Wait- boy? Wesley blinked, and sure enough, there he was, hot pink hair and all, right over her face.

Startled, Wesley sat up quickly, accidentally knocking into his head. "S-s-sorry!!" she rasped, her throat dry and scratchy.

Rubbing her head, she noticed two other girls. Wesley turned bright red. Even though she was confused, she still knew that people shouldn't be all around her. She must have done something. Something really stupid. "S-sorry!" she repeated, embarrassed.

ooc: since I was writing it without seeing the new posts, Wesley bumped into Jake. So for it to still work, then I'm assuming Jake put her in the recovery position facing him, instead of away from him. Sorry about all this!

"Yes....but...oh never mind Jake," Vanessa rolled her eyes, smiling at him. "Just...don't do it to me okay?" She nodded, knowing that she wouldn't really like to have water poured all over her. "But it probably will wake her up" She nodded, glancing down at the girl again. She knew that she'd want to take her to the hospital wing though, she wanted to make sure that all of her Hufflepuff's were nice and healthy.
"ouch" She mumbled as someone bumped into her and Jake. Well didn't people watch where they were walking these days. Looking up she smiled at Sarah, it wasn't her fault really.

"She fainted...jake tried to wake her up" Vanessa explained quietly as she glanced back down at the girl, who seemed to be waking up, and banging heads with Jake. Shuffing up slightly, she put her arm on the girls back, so that if she fainted again, she wouldn't hit her head. "Hey there." She smiled at her, trying to appear friendly. "You just fainted dear. I think we should take you to the hospital wing....just to check that you're okay." She nodded, as she pulled out her wand, and accioed a glass of water over, and carefully handing it to the girl. When she had spoke she had seemed a little thirsty, so a cool drink my help her.

"Seeeeeeeeeeee, I told you it would work," Jake grinned as the girl's eyes opened. He hadn't of course, said anything of the sort, but Jake kinda forgot. He looked up at Vannie and then Sarah and Ema, a tad surprised. "Hiiiii..." he smiled, looking back down at the girl...

... at the wrong moment.

"Are you alr-ACK!" Jake yelled, as the girl accidentally headbutted him. Had he been that close? Oh... yes. Falling back in surprise, Jake managed to do a backwards roll, landing on his knees, and pushed himself back onto his feet without the aid of his hands, which were currently pressed over his eye. "She headbutted me!" he exclaimed, jaw dropping.

... "Owie."

Melanie watched ith interest as yet another girl joined in on the havoc. Hmm it looked like they were having some sort of water fight. Only Jake was the only one with any water an the girl was still asleep. That wasn't very nice. Melanie thought skeptically, frowning to herself. Surely all he would have needed to do to wake her up was nudge her on the shoulder a bit...so maybe he'd only been doing it to be spiteful. Bleh, who knew.

Well sure enough she was awake now and covered in water. Melanie watched as she stood up and....

....

and headbutted Jake. Melanie, almost immediately misunderstood the entire scene, being out of earshot. Of course the girl had done that to get back at him for dumping water on her when she'd only been peacefully sleeping. Melanie eyed her with a mixture of disapproval and confusion. How did she know it had been him anyway?

Melanie, reluctantly slipped out of the comfort of the couch walking over to Ema's side. "Are you all alright over here?" she asked, arching an eyebrow, a curious expression on her face.

Drama never really ceased here did it?

Sarah returned the smile Prefect Corbette gave her and nodded as she listened to the explanation. "Oh I see.Ever erm...helpful eh Jake?" She spoke to him as he looked up to find her standing there too.
Fainted? Maybe she ate too much as well...poor kid.

As the girl seemed to be regaining conciousness,Sarah glanced down just in time to see her clash heads with Jake. "Ooooh perhaps they should both go to the hospital wing," she winced,watching Jake rub his sore head.

The new girl seemed to be a bit embarrassed by the whole thing,not that Sarah could blame her.It's not everyday you faint on your first day of school.Giving her a reasuring smile,she bent down and offered her hand to help either Jake or her up. "Need some help?" she enquired to them.

I...fainted? Wesley didn't remember fainting. She just barely remembered coming into the room, but definitely not fainting. But the girl seemed to radiate confidence, so Wesley didn't doubt her words. She was just confused.

"Oh no! I'm fine, really I am!," Wesley croaked, trying to stand, but failing miserably. Wesley hated being a burden. She wanted so bad to make friends, but she was seriously questioning her ability to. I'm so weak. "I'm fine," she repeated lamely. Maybe it was just a dream. Maybe she'd wake up at home.

"Thank you," Wesley said to the pretty brunette, taking the water. Her hands were shaking, and it sloshed around, but she managed to take a sip without getting too much down her front.

"N-no! No! I-I s-swear I di-d-dn't!! I'm s-sooo sor-r-ry!!" Wesley pleaded, her voice slightly less raspy, to the accusing boy. She hadn't meant to. She really hadn't. She hoped he didn't hate her. She would never try to head-butt anyone. Wesley thought fighting was scary. And dueling. She didn't like dueling either.

Oh dear. Wesley thought as another girl walked over. She looked annoyed. "No-no th-thankyou." Wesley stuttered to both her and the other older-looking girl, turning an even darker shade of red.

She was making a fool out of herself...

Squeezing his eyes tightly shut, Jake rubbed his eye quickly, trying to get rid of the throb. "It's okay, mate," he smiled wryly at the girl. "It don't hurt, you just took me by surprise," he explained, looking up, his eye showing signs of being a black eye in no time at all.

"Ahhh," he mumbled, touching his face around the eye and pressing it gingerly. "I'll have to see Professor Morgan... and you don't have to go to the nurse if you don't want to, mate."

He gave an acknowledging nod to the others that had gathered around, before blinking, trying to get rid of the stars he was seeing.

"Oh...clever aren't we Mr. Upstead," Vanessa smiled, as she glanced at him. It would be a bit of a confidence boost for him though. She winced as he tumbled back. Oh trust the hufflepuff common room to be filled with injury as term started. "Are you okay?" She asked, not really wanting to casualties on her hands. She wouldn't be able to levitate both of them to the hospital wing.
"Don't faint on me Jake." She warned him, jokingly. Oh where was Dominic Denton when she needed him!

As she girl spoke again, Vanessa looked down at her, smiling, hoping that the girl wasn't feeling too embarrassed. Eep. She was a little shocked when she girl tried to get up, but she couldn't. "Don't do that." She nodded, with a smile. She didn't want the young girl to fall over.
Glancing up at the other girls she smiled at them. They all seemed like they wanted to help. Well maybe they could.
"Erm...whats you're name dear?" She asked, with a smile. "I'm Vanessa, one of you're house Prefects." She added, hoping that the girl would feel to aliented around them now. "And...I do think you should go to the hospital wing." She nodded, glancing up again. "I really don't want you to faint again."

Wesley relaxed slightly, relieved the boy wasn't mad. Or at least he didn't seem mad. Maybe he was. Wesley bit her lip slightly, wishing she could read minds.

Prefect. Wesley had known the girl was special. "W-wesley," she answered simply, a little self conscious, remembering the time when someone told her it was a boys name; she had cried.

Wesley didn't respond immediately to the next sentence. She really didn't want to go to the hospital wing. Hospitals scared her. She just wanted to go to sleep. And wake up the next day with everything okay. She wanted to start over. But Wesley doubted whether she could walk to the room. Maybe she could just sit here for a little bit. But sitting in the middle of the room with wet hair seemed slightly odd. She would just be in every one's way. And Vanessa really wanted her to go to the hospital wing. She didn't want to make Vanessa angry. But Wesley didn't want to be a burden. And she didn't want to cause a scene.

The truth was, she honestly didn't know what to do.
