Truebridge had the class set up differently today, there were tables arranged in clusters of three- seven desks, no real rhyme or reason in it. He was sitting at his own desk, apparently completely engrossed in reading a book.
You should probably sit down and get ready for class.
Satine glanced around to the others at her table/group and realized that they were supposed to do it individually. She quickly looked at her list and pulled out an extra piece of parchment and divided it into three columns. Before getting started, she shot her hand in the air, "Professor, I have extra quills and parchment if anyone needs any." she said as she placed them in the middle of their table/desks and then started working on her list.
Lyra began scribbling down on her parchment, placing each organization under what she deemed to be good, bad, neutral, and unsure. She had her reasons for doing such things and therefore began to place her reasoning behind each one.

S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) - Lame but good
Order of the Mark (or Seal) - The seal is good
Order of the Talon - Well, this is in reference to my Ravenclaws...bless them
Order of the Mane - And this is in reference to my Gryffindor friends
The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards - Medieval is just good
International Confederation of Wizards - Sounds good
International Task Force - The name sounds good
the Dark Force Defense League - Defense against dark force is good

Bad
Slytherin - This is not against all Slytherins but, I think that most of them are bad...but in a good way

Neutral
S.S.S (Society for the Support of Squibs) - Squibby people are just neutral because they can't do anything anyway!

Unsure:
Hufflepuff - Even though I am good, there are some Huffies I am unsure of as to whether it makes all Huffies good or bad, but there are none that are Neutral.

The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.
William stretched his fingers and dipped his quill into the ink. A blob of blue ink fell on his parchment but he shook it off as he began writing.

Slytherin - Can be bad but mostly they're good. Everyone has bad moments right? They're loyal and dependable.
Gryffindor - Courageous and heartfelt. I have an awesome friend in this House and she's amazing.
The Order of the Phoenix - Opposite of the Death Eaters. They're only goal was to stop the DEs from comitting mass murders. And they fought for freedom.
Quidditch teams - They're good, definitely! They play a game everyone loves and it's for everyone's enjoyment.
Dumbledore's Army - Good guy no question. It was led by Harry Potter who as you all know saved Wizard Kind from the evil voldemort.
B.O.G (Brotherhood of Goblins) - because they're doing something good, wanting rights for themselves.
The Order of Merlin - Merlin started this. all he wanted was for wizards to stop using magic on Muggles. Very good.
Q.U.I.B.B.L.E (Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and its Endeavors) - This organization onjly wants to better the problem the British League has.
S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) - Don't get m started on this. The elves deserve more rights and freedoms than what they have, including using a wand. There's some magic that only wands can do. this group is a good thing, if we get the freedom they deserve, the more the better.
S.S.S (Society for the Support of Squibs) - Squibs are wizards too in their own way and deserve the respect they want. This society helps them get it.
S.T.V ( Society for the Tolerance of Vampires) - Vampires are important parts of this society and shouldn't be slandered on every chance people get. This is a good group.
The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards - Good I think. I haven't read a lot about them though.
International Confederation of Wizards - I don't know enough about them but I know it's a good thing.
International Federation of Warlocks - See above reply.
The Wizarding Examinations Authority - good thing; without exams how would we know what kind of wizard we are?
Troll Rights Movement - troll need more freedom as well as any other creature.

The Knights of Walpurgis - The original Death Eaters.
Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards - this I think is bad. we have enough freedoms, how about more freedoms for Muggles? Or those who know magic but don't want to use it.

Society for the Reformation of Hags - not sure what this is exactly.
Society for Distressed Witches - Um not exactly sure on this one.

With his list finished he dropped his quill and rubbed his fingers. They were sore now, who knew writing so much was bad for you? He needed a chocolate frog.

The Headless Hunt
Neutral
A bunch of dead guys running after their heads. Odd, but not evil.
Cedric raised his hand again."Sir,I have a suggestion, why do you choose volunteers to make a master list like the ones we've done last lesson"
"Firstly, I don't want to. Secondly, if you are after an excuse to get out of doing the classwork you have not succeeded. I'd take points, but since your house is already in last place, I will instead strongly reccommend you do the work and make an attempt at earning some points rather than losing them as Hufflepuffs lately seem fond of doing." Ethan answered deadpan.
ooc: leaving it for the night, will pick up again in about 12 hours.
Professor Truebridge is in rare form today. This should be an interesting class. Abby looks at the list on the blackboard. Some of these organizations she has never heard of. This isn’t going to be easy.
Quote:
Good
Australian Quidditch League:Governing body for the Australian and New Zealand Quidditch Teams
Dumbledore’s Army: Group of Students who helped defeat Voldemort must be good.
Ministry of Magic: Every society needs a governing body
Most Extraordinary Society of Potioners: society promotes exellence in potion making and recognizes people who excell in potion making. Sounds good to me.
Order of Merlin: orignally organized by Merlin to make rules concerning the use of magic against muggles.
Order of the Phoenix: They helped defeat Voldemort twice.
Q.U.A.B.B.L.E. : Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and it’s Endeavors: Anything that helps improve Quidditch must be good.
S.S.S.: Society for the Support of Squibs: It must be difficult to not have magic in a magical family. They perform a good service.
The Order of Air Voyagers for Intrepid Wizards: Gilderoy Lockhart was made a member of this organization, so it must be harmless.
The International Confederation of Wizards: it protects witches and wizards. To me that makes it good.
The Dark Force Defense League: another organization Gilderoy Lockhart belonged to. Must be harmless if he was made a member.
International Federation of Warlocks:International Political Governing body. Society cannot survive without laws. That makes it good to me.
Medieval Assembly of European Wizards: European Organization that occasionally gives out the Bravery Against Fantastic Beasts. They gave this award to Lockhart, so they must be benign.
Wizengamot: You can't have laws without a body to enforce them.
Official Globstone Club: Gobstone is an innocent game.
Quidditch Teams: Quidditch makes the wizarding world go round.
Bad
B.O.G. : The Brotherhood of Goblins:this group pushed for Goblin to be able to use wands. I don't think that's such a good idea.
Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards:They didn't like the Ministry reigning in the actions of wizards on halloween. We can't have wizards running around wild on Halloween.
Deatheaters: Voldemort's henchmen. Need I say more.
Inquisitorial Squad: Evil Slytherin who carried out Umbridges's orders. definitely bad.
S.P.E.W.: Hermione wanted to free the house elves. They didn't want to be freed. That makes it bad to me.
Troll Rights Movement: I don't think it's such a good idea to give trolls too many rights. Evil creatures.
S.T.V. : Society for the Tolerance of Vampires
Knights of Walpurgis: Original name for Voldemort's Deatheaters.
Snatchers: They hunted muggle born witches and wizards. Not nice people.
Neutral
The Wizarding Examination Authority: They over see OWL and NEWT exams. I don't see them as good or evil.
The Headless Hunt: A bunch of headless ghost go hunting. Need I say more.
Slug Club: The club was nothing more than Slughorns way to get people who will owe him favors in the future.
Unsure
Order of the Mark: I don't know what it is.
Order of the Fang: I don't know what it is.
Order of the Talon:I don't know what it is.
Order of the Stripe:I don't know what it is.
Order of the Mane:I don't know what it is.
Hufflepuff: I don't think of it as an organization.
Ravenclaw: I don't think of it as an organization.
Gryffindor: I don't think of it as an organization.
Slytherin:I don't think of it as an organization.
Society for Distressed Wizards:Sounds like a dumb orgainizaton. We all get distressed, so what makes this witches special.
International Task Force: All the infromation I can find out about it is it a muggle organization.
Society for the Reformation of Hags: Can you reform a Hag?
Hmmmmmm. That was a lot of sorting. Raiden copied the list down and started scribbling away, trying to think. What had he read about all these groups? There were quite a few that he didn't know... Oh well!

Official Gobstones Club - Really, how could a Gobstones Club be bad? Unless they go around killing people between matches and then I don't think they really count as a Gobstones Club anymore. Dumbledore's Army - While their tactics were kinda sneaky, their intentions were nothing but the best in teaching each other to use defensive magic. Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers - They work to create new potions that are useful to wizards everywhere. The Order of Merlin - It was originally an organisation brought together by Merlin, and they made rules against using magic on/against Muggles. Q.U.A.B.B.L.E (Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and its Endeavors) - Unions working for the rights of their members. S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) - While its name isn't very pretty, S.P.E.W worked for the rights of House Elves, even if they... really didn't want them. Society for the Reformation of Hags - Was established to help hags become more integrated into society. S.S.S (Society for the Support of Squibs) - Because Squibs are people too, and shouldn't be treated as lesser beings because they don't have magic! S.T.V ( Society for the Tolerance of Vampires) - Worked for acceptance of vampires by the general public. Society for Distressed Witches - They helped witches who were in trouble financially and other kinds of stuff. Witches who needed helping. The Dark Force Defense League - A group organised to work against those employing the Dark Arts. Hufflepuff
Ravenclaw
Slytherin
Gryffindor
---We're all students. How could we be anything but 'good'?
'Bad' Death Eaters - I'm sure they thought they were doing the right thing, but a lot of the things they did were to hurt people and they were very mean to Muggles and wizards who supported Muggles. Snatchers - ...they snatch people. Not very nice.
'neutral' Wizengamot - While they're supposed to rule for the side of good, historically the Wizengamot has made some... well, bad decisions, I think. Every so often they do something that just isn't completely right. Ministry for Magic - The Ministry falls under the same heading as the Wizengamot. They... do some things that just aren't right sometimes. But they're like a government, and governments do that sometimes. Quidditch teams - Sometimes violent and mean to each other, but always entertaining. Inquisitorial Squad - They... were following orders, and they were bad orders. I'm sure there were some people on the Inquisitorial Squad that were only there to make sure they weren't targeted by the Inquisitorial Squad. B.O.G (Brotherhood of Goblins) - While they were doing what was right by them in campaigning for their rights, violence did break out sometimes, and I can't recall reading if it was caused by the group or just because the group was present. International Confederation of Wizards - Same as Wizengamot and Ministry; I'm sure they've made their share of bad decisions as well. The Headless Hunt - They're a fine organisation in their own right, but they're... really selective and they won't take Sir Nick even though he's only got a teeny tiny bit of skin there. That's not very nice. Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards - The only thing I remember having read about this group is their campaigning to oppose the Ministry on Halloween regulations. Which I can understand, but I don't know what they've done otherwise and it's possible that some of the 'greater freedoms' they could be campaigning for aren't really... good for everyone.
'unsure' Slug Club - I don't know much about them but... It was a group of Horace Slughorn's favourites, right? The Knights of Walpurgis - While their initial intentions were fair and good, i.e. protecting wizards from persecution, their eventual supposed turn into bitterness and the idea that they are the predecessors of the Death Eaters in cleansing the Wizarding World of Muggleborns is... well bad. So I don't know how to classify this, as I don't remember if what I read about them was based in rumour or in fact. Order of the Mark (or Seal)
Order of the Fang
Order of the Talon
Order of the Stripe
Order of the Mane
The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards
The Order of Air Voyagers for Intrepid Wizards
International Task Force
The Wizarding Examinations Authority
International Federation of Warlocks
---All of the above... I don't know what they are. Troll Rights Movement - While everyone deserves their rights... Trolls are kinda mean without reason, so I don't know what to do with this one.
With a little sigh, Raiden set down his quill and stared at the giant list. There were... probably some misplaced, but he'd get that sorted out later, wouldn't he.
Hiss!Roar!Growl!Caw! | Hermione's Double | The Little Three | Alecate
Anna studied the list for a moment, already mentally categorizing some of the organizations. She made a face as she read about the Headless Hunt. Ewww. Shrugging, she picked up her quill, dabbed it in ink, then got ready to write. She glanced over at the professor, who was talking with a Hufflepuff student. Professor Truebridge seemed...upset?...irritated?...not himself. Then again, she really couldn't blame him. This flood pretty much had everyone under the weather.
SPOILER!!: List
GOOD: The Order of the Phoenix – This order was formed for the sole purpose of fighting on the side of “the good.” The members of this order kept a close watch on Voldemort and even assisted the great Harry Potter in defeating him. Quidditch teams – What’s NOT good about Quidditch teams? They’re fun to watch and fun to be involved in. I also think they’ve the magical population a fun hobby or pastime. Official Gobstones Club – The OGC pretty much falls within the same category as Quidditch. Gobstone matches are equally fun to watch and be involved in. Just as Quidditch, they give us a hobby or pastime to focus on. Dumbledore's Army – This group was formed to back Albus Dumbledore and the beliefs he stood behind. It was formed during a time when the Ministry of Magic took over Hogwarts, and the students felt they were not receiving a proper education. I also think it’s important to note that the young formed this, so it gives youth an example of what they are capable of.
Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers – I’ve chosen the field of Potions as a career after graduation, and I’ve heard that this organization can assist those working in that field. I do hope they can assist me in my future research. The Order of Merlin – I think this organization is important, because it honors those who have done great things for us. It recognizes admirable people, and lets them know that their work was not overlooked. Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and its Endeavors – I think it’s important that the sport of Quidditch has an organization overseeing it. If Quidditch teams disagree on certain aspects of the game, this organization can step in and make a fair ruling. This organization can also implement guidelines that will make the game fair for all in case there are discrepencies. Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare – I’ve seen the elves around this castle, and they’ve always been so kind and helpful towards everyone they meet. Not all elves may be that kind and helpful, but should all be demoted and looked down upon? Of course not! This organization helps to make sure elves are treated as fair as possible. Society for the Support of Squibs – I can’t imagine what it must be like for a person to be a Squib. They are fully aware of the wonders of our magical world, yet they can’t participate in most of what we do. I think it would be a shame to have to sit back and watch while everyone around me performs all these cool spells and charms. I think a support group for squibs is a great idea to give them someone to talk to and someone to help them find their place within our world. International Confederation of Wizards – I’m not too familiar with this group, but I do know that it focuses on bringing together wizards from a variety of different countries. I think that’s a good idea, so we can all learn to work together. We can also share ideas and give advice to foreign wizards. Oh, and they can share with us, as well…hopefully. Dark Force Defense League – What better than a league defending people from dark forces? Besides that, Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart was a member. Have you SEEN his picture? International Federation of Warlocks – A warlock is just an older wizard, right? So I guess this is sort of like their group to help them continue to find a place in the magical world despite their growing age? I think that’s pretty helpful. The Wizarding Examinations Authority – Eww. I should put this in bad, you know? Aren’t these the people who are over our NEWT exams? Yup, bad, bad, bad. They do help make sure we know all we should know to be successful in our adult lives, so I suppose I can slide and let them remain in the good group. Hufflepuff – My mother and I are both Gryffindors, and my father is a Slytherin. I have friends (and professors) in all four houses. I think each house serves its purpose, such as Ravenclaws being intelligent, Slytherins being ambitious, Gryffindors being brave, and Hufflepuffs being loyal. You’re always going to have some rotten apples in each bunch, but the entire house as a whole shouldn’t be punished for that. Ravenclaw – See above Slytherin – See above Gryffindor – See above Society for the Reformation of Hags – Don’t Hags eat children? Yes, they do! This group attempts to reform, or change, the behavior of Hags, so maybe they can eventually save the lives of some poor, unfortunate children!
Society for Distressed Witches – I almost placed this in the ‘Unsure’ category, but I suppose if someone needs help and is distressed, more power to them to have someone to turn to!
BAD: Death Eaters – This group has a prejudice against anyone who isn’t pureblood, and there’s no good in that. Blood status has nothing to do with how good of a wizard or witch a person is, so their actions aren’t justified. Besides, they killed a whole lot people. The Knights of Walpurgis – This was the old name for the “Death Eaters,” so see above. Snatchers – These are kidnappers, and there’s never anything good about taking someone against their will!
NEUTRAL: Troll Rights Movement – Right on, trolls! They’re big…they’re scary, but they do need to have their rights, just as we do. However, because of the fact that those rights do need to be controlled some, I placed this in the neutral category. Wizengamot – I realize that the Wizengamot is our law-making body, but I’ve read that they’ve often time been unfair in their decisions. Poor Harry Potter was once nearly expelled from Hogwarts for defending himself and his cousin against dementors. I’ve heard that the Wizengamot pretty much refused to see his side of things, and that they sided with the Minister to try and expel him. I think they were just trying to keep him away from Hogwarts, since he was defying the Minister and saying Voldemort had returned! Law-makers are good, but not if they are going to get power-hungry! Ministry of Magic – I think the whole ‘power hungry’ deal applies here, as well. My mother works for the Ministry of Magic, and she’s an amazing, intelligent woman, but there are others (such as that Cooper man) who let power go to their heads. I keep remembering that time Minister Cooper took us away from Hogwarts and refused to hear our pleas to go back. Once again, I think the Minsitry of Magic is a great organization, but not when power-hungry people are controlling it! Inquisitorial Squad – This was the group formed against Dumbledore’s Army. I placed it in ‘Neutral’, because I felt that it was made up of innocent children who were possibly acting based on what they’d been told by their families or professors (like Umbridge). I think there may have also been some mislead people involved in it. On the other hand, they caused trouble for Dumbledore’s Army and followed a leader who wasn’t being a good leader at all. Slug Club – I think this group was composed of some very nice, intelligent students (like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ginny Weasley, for example), but at the same time, I don’t agree with giving certain students assistance or help and denying it or keeping it hidden from others. Order of the Mark – For the most part, these five orders were good. Their intentions were good, and they set out to make sure good things happened (like getting Hogwarts back from Minister Cooper). However, like the Slug Club, these organizations are only limited to certain students, and it's open for a few people at a time. Perhaps they are missing out on some good ideas or suggestions by limiting membership. Order of the Fang – See above Order of the Talon – See above Order of the Stripe – See above Order of the Mane – See above
UNSURE: Society for the Tolerance of Vampires – I agree with “equal rights” and the such, but Vampires aren’t exactly the type of creature you give more rights to. I’ve even heard that they seek out people who are allergic to garlic (since garlic wards away the blood-drinking vampires). While it all sounds good on the outside, giving vampires more rights can prove to be a mistake. Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards – For me, this campaign all relies on what sorts of freedom these wizards want. We have laws and guidelines we must follow in order to ensure chaos doesn’t erupt. While freedom can be good, too much of a good thing can go bad. The Headless Hunt – Okay, so my house’s ghost pretty much loves this thing, but there’s just something about the word ‘hunt’ that throws me off. I mean…a bunch of ghosts…without heads…out hunting for something? That’s just creepy! International Task Force – I’m pretty sure I know what this is just from looking at the works in the title, but since I wasn’t 100% sure, I placed it here. A task is a job, though, so maybe this organization focuses on jobs and roles wizards from all countries have? The Order of Air Voyagers for Intrepid Wizards – Erm, what is this? An organization for fearless air travelers? It sounds good, but seeing as I don’t know what it is or what type of people were in it, I think it should go in the unsure category. The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards – Ermmm, I actually have no idea what this is. I tried looking up information in my textbook, but I only found a brief mention of it. I didn’t find enough information to have an opinion on it. Brotherhood of Goblins - This group seems good in that it assists Goblins in having rights and freedoms, but I’m not too familiar with certain aspects of Goblins (such as how they react when given a wand), so I’m not sure how safe assisting the goblins would be.
Death Eaters-Bad-They are the supporters of voldemort, the dark lord..they

Well that was easy enough. Plymouth liked clubs. It reminded him of secret handshakes and ... well, that made him sad. He sunk down into his chair and threw pictures with his fingertip on his desk.
Isabella who sat along the side of the window looked up at the board which had the list written. the board was slightly shining because of the light coming from the window. but she noted down the list and began to work:

as she finished with her list she laid back on her chair and looked around to see if she could catch any of her friends eye.

Ugh. The problem with assignments like this was that she'd been brought up with a slightly different view of things. 'Good' was not synonymous with right and 'Bad' was not synonymous with wrong. She figured that the commonly held view was probably closest to the answer the Professor was looking for, even if had said there were no wrong answers. Cela figured that sorting the organisations, groups and societies out based on what they were trying to achieve would be the best way to figure out which category they'd fit under. After all, some groups had lost sight of their original lofty goals and ended up as something completely different.
Mostly Celandine ended up placing activist groups under 'good', after all their original intention had been to bring about positive change, right? She chewed on her quill a little as she thought about this and finally finished up her list, not bothering with adding explanations since she figured she'd do that if Professor Truebridge or anyone asked her directly.

She blinked a few times as she heard a couple of first year Ravenclaws chatting and shook her head at them slightly, a friendly little smile on her face as she held her finger up to her lips, indicating they shouldn't talk in class.
Professor Truebridge hadn't given then permission to talk and he usually stated pretty clearly if he wanted them to discuss things, and he was pretty easy going most of the time but he seemed a little out of sorts today.

-Q.U.A.B.B.L.E (Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and its Endeavors): Again, the name says it all.
-Ravenclaw: I am one! Isn't that reason enough?

-Death Eater: This one is pretty obvious, I think.

-S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare): I don't like magical creatures
-Troll Rights Movement: I feel like I've said this a lot, but . . . I don't like magical creatures.

-Ministry of Magic: Minister Cooper is dumb. Or so my father says anyway.
-The Knights of Walpurgis: The Death Eater's original name was really stupid.

-Slytherin: Hmm. Two of my best friends are in Slytherin. But then, I don't care TOO much for the other houses, so I guess this is why Slytherin is on the neutral list?
-Gryffindor: I have an friend acquaintance there. Oh, and Legend Chosen is a Gryffindor, too. Hmmhmm. But as I said above, I don't care much for the other houses.
-Hufflepuff: WELL. This is private. Besides, it isn't Ravenclaw, so this is why Hufflepuff isn't on the GOOD list.
-The Order of the Phoenix: Hero complex, much? They did some good for our world, though, so I guess that's why they are not on the BAD list.
