Helena smiled and nodded once at the professor's words. Of course she didn't mind helping, but she had always been one took before she leaped - especially in the wizarding world. She didn't like surprises much. Helena watched the first batch of volunteers go up with interest, wanting to see what it was they were doing. |
Roland sitting at the back of the class watched eagerly as to what the volunteers would get to do. It wasn't bad just watching demonstrations. At least he would be able to recognise a situation without being in it himself. However, that didn't mean he should sit out all the time. Roland sat forward in his seat the better to see what was going to happen. |

Less chance to freak out. |
I'm glad I didn't raise my hand this time. I got to put in some extra participation in the last class. Other people should have a chance to participate too. Abby eagerly waits to see what Professor Truebridge has planned. |
Anna lowered her hand as the professor starting calling volunteers to the front. It was probably best that she didn't go up first anyway. Merlin only knew what they were about to get themselves into. At least she got to come up a little later in the lesson, though. If it turned out to be something really cool and interesting (which she was sure it would be), she'd at least get to take part in it at some point. She nodded once to Professor Truebridge, then sat and waited for the first four volunteers to get started. |

"What we are going to do is play a guessing game. Each of the volunteers will get a slip of parchment with a wizarding organisation that they will pretend to represent. They may answer your questions with either yes, no or irrelevant. Each person guessing may ask TWO questions or make one guess and points earned by a successful guess will go to the house of the successful guesser." Truebridge tapped his wand on the board and a tally chart for the four houses appeared. "You will need to work with your housemates, some of you may need to sacrifice your guess to ask questions instead and your questions may help the other houses so you need to be clever about what you ask and when you ask it. We will start as soon as the first lot of volunteers are ready. Do be sure to address the volunteers directly because it might be a little crazy with all four going at once." ooc: points will be awarded to your house for a correct guess but bonus points will also be awarded for good questions or figuring out the organisation quickly. if a Ravenclaw asks a question, then the next posted question or guess must be from a Slytherin, Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Another Ravenclaw question will be ignored and not count towards your personal question count and this goes for each of the houses :) A GUESS can be posted at anytime by any house. Once someone from a house that is not your own has posted, you are free to post again. remember you get EITHER 2 questions OR one guess, not both. If you are confused, just watch until you figure it out or PM me with any questions. Also when you post please be clear about which person you are adressing :D they are all four going at once :D |
Linda was so excited 'That sounds like fun!' she thought. She took the parchment in which the earlier work was done SPOILER!!: The list and got ready for the guessing game |
"Thanks," mumbled Kiri and took the piece of parchment Professor Truebridge was offering her. She lined up with her classmates at the front of the room, then unfolded the parchment and glanced furtively at the organisation she'd been given. She nodded at the professor to indicate that she was ready, turning the little piece of paper around in her and a little nervously. Hopefully her fellow Slytherins would come up with the right questions... |
Linda raised her hand and asked 'Is it a 'good' organisation..I mean does it work for the welfare of magical beings?' (to Kiri) |
Chris raised his hand to ask Kiri a question after the Ravenclaw did. "Does your organization benefit Humans rather than Magical Creatures?" he asked the girl. |
Okay...hopefully Nancy had got that right. She was allowed to ask either of the four a question now, right? "Uhm...Varius? Is your organization controled by the Ministry?" The 15 year old asked hesitantly after raising her hand. |
Natka quickly got up and went to stand at the front beside the professor and the other volunteers, taking the offered paper. A guessing game? she thought, rather nervously, looking up from the parchment when she had skimmed the instructions there. This could prove to be rather interesting... although she hoped she had the sufficient knowledge to pull this off well. She waited for any questions that might be directed at her. |

A guessing game? Awesome! Playing a GAME in CLASS? This was awesome, and this Truebridge guy was obviously a really cool guy. Cyrus had to contain himself from standing in his seat. MUST-WIN-THIS-GAME. Anyhow, words started to pour from his mouth. “Hey! Varius, mate. Is it more than two words long?” The first year really didn’t have any smart questions to ask. This wasn’t QUITE his subject of strength. |
Truebridge listened carefully to the questions the students answered and made notes by their names. "I did forget to clarify that you get two questions or one guess per volunteer. So Chris you can use one more question for Kiri and one more for Natka, but you are still free to ask either 2 questions or make a guess to Varius and Herminny." He was pleased that they all seemed to have the hang of it already. |
Diane raised her hand. "Natka, does your organization award things? Are they related to sports?" Those were two questions, she will leave the guessing to somebody else. |
Ohhh, this sounded fun...really fun, actually. Anna shot Professor Truebridge a smile and gave him a little thumbs-up sign while she was at it. Leave it to him to come up with a clever idea such as this. Hmm, so what should she ask? She sat thinking for just a moment, and then an idea came to her. Raising her hand, she said, "Varius, does your organization support the belief that a group of children or students can take a stand on a situation just as strongly as a group of adults can?" |
Cela decided to raise her hand to ask Kiri a few questions. "Kiri, is the organisation you represent still active? Is it a group of witches and wizards that command respect?" She'd let someone else guess Kiri's, but Cela figured she might guess for one of the others. |

Natka frowned at this. Hmm, the organisation she'd been assigned was... well, it was difficult to say... For lack of a better answer, she opted for the safest option. "Irrelevant". She hoped this would make sense to the others... Quote:
"Yes". Quote:
"Yes and yes," she replied to both parts od Diane's question. |
Chris aised his hand for his last question for Natka. "So does your Sport related organization involve brooms?" |
