Satine glanced around to the others at her table/group and realized that they were supposed to do it individually. She quickly looked at her list and pulled out an extra piece of parchment and divided it into three columns. Before getting started, she shot her hand in the air, "Professor, I have extra quills and parchment if anyone needs any." she said as she placed them in the middle of their table/desks and then started working on her list.

Lyra began scribbling down on her parchment, placing each organization under what she deemed to be good, bad, neutral, and unsure. She had her reasons for doing such things and therefore began to place her reasoning behind each one.

S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) - Lame but good
Order of the Mark (or Seal) - The seal is good
Order of the Talon - Well, this is in reference to my Ravenclaws...bless them
Order of the Mane - And this is in reference to my Gryffindor friends
The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards - Medieval is just good
International Confederation of Wizards - Sounds good
International Task Force - The name sounds good
the Dark Force Defense League - Defense against dark force is good

Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards - they are good because they are looking for more freedom

Ministry for Magic - They help regulate the wizarding world, but with Cooper still in office, I have to put that I am unsure until he is gone

Q.U.I.B.B.L.E (Quidditch Union for the Administration and Betterment of the British League and its Endeavors) - This organization onjly wants to better the problem the British League has.
S.P.E.W (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) - Don't get m started on this. The elves deserve more rights and freedoms than what they have, including using a wand. There's some magic that only wands can do. this group is a good thing, if we get the freedom they deserve, the more the better.
S.S.S (Society for the Support of Squibs) - Squibs are wizards too in their own way and deserve the respect they want. This society helps them get it.
S.T.V ( Society for the Tolerance of Vampires) - Vampires are important parts of this society and shouldn't be slandered on every chance people get. This is a good group.
The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards - Good I think. I haven't read a lot about them though.
International Confederation of Wizards - I don't know enough about them but I know it's a good thing.
International Federation of Warlocks - See above reply.
The Wizarding Examinations Authority - good thing; without exams how would we know what kind of wizard we are?
Troll Rights Movement - troll need more freedom as well as any other creature.

Professor Truebridge is in rare form today. This should be an interesting class. Abby looks at the list on the blackboard. Some of these organizations she has never heard of. This isn’t going to be easy.

International Federation of Warlocks:International Political Governing body. Society cannot survive without laws. That makes it good to me.
Medieval Assembly of European Wizards: European Organization that occasionally gives out the Bravery Against Fantastic Beasts. They gave this award to Lockhart, so they must be benign.
Wizengamot: You can't have laws without a body to enforce them.
Official Globstone Club: Gobstone is an innocent game.
Quidditch Teams: Quidditch makes the wizarding world go round.

Bad

B.O.G. : The Brotherhood of Goblins:this group pushed for Goblin to be able to use wands. I don't think that's such a good idea.
Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards:They didn't like the Ministry reigning in the actions of wizards on halloween. We can't have wizards running around wild on Halloween.
Deatheaters: Voldemort's henchmen. Need I say more.
Inquisitorial Squad: Evil Slytherin who carried out Umbridges's orders. definitely bad.
S.P.E.W.: Hermione wanted to free the house elves. They didn't want to be freed. That makes it bad to me.
Troll Rights Movement: I don't think it's such a good idea to give trolls too many rights. Evil creatures.
S.T.V. : Society for the Tolerance of Vampires
Knights of Walpurgis: Original name for Voldemort's Deatheaters.
Snatchers: They hunted muggle born witches and wizards. Not nice people.

Neutral

The Wizarding Examination Authority: They over see OWL and NEWT exams. I don't see them as good or evil.
The Headless Hunt: A bunch of headless ghost go hunting. Need I say more.
Slug Club: The club was nothing more than Slughorns way to get people who will owe him favors in the future.

Unsure

Order of the Mark: I don't know what it is.
Order of the Fang: I don't know what it is.
Order of the Talon:I don't know what it is.
Order of the Stripe:I don't know what it is.
Order of the Mane:I don't know what it is.
Hufflepuff: I don't think of it as an organization.
Ravenclaw: I don't think of it as an organization.

Society for Distressed Wizards:Sounds like a dumb orgainizaton. We all get distressed, so what makes this witches special.
International Task Force: All the infromation I can find out about it is it a muggle organization.

Hmmmmmm. That was a lot of sorting. Raiden copied the list down and started scribbling away, trying to think. What had he read about all these groups? There were quite a few that he didn't know... Oh well!

Society for Distressed Witches - They helped witches who were in trouble financially and other kinds of stuff. Witches who needed helping.
The Dark Force Defense League - A group organised to work against those employing the Dark Arts.

'Bad'
Death Eaters - I'm sure they thought they were doing the right thing, but a lot of the things they did were to hurt people and they were very mean to Muggles and wizards who supported Muggles.
Snatchers - ...they snatch people. Not very nice.

'neutral'
Wizengamot - While they're supposed to rule for the side of good, historically the Wizengamot has made some... well, bad decisions, I think. Every so often they do something that just isn't completely right.
Ministry for Magic - The Ministry falls under the same heading as the Wizengamot. They... do some things that just aren't right sometimes. But they're like a government, and governments do that sometimes.
Quidditch teams - Sometimes violent and mean to each other, but always entertaining.
Inquisitorial Squad - They... were following orders, and they were bad orders. I'm sure there were some people on the Inquisitorial Squad that were only there to make sure they weren't targeted by the Inquisitorial Squad.
B.O.G (Brotherhood of Goblins) - While they were doing what was right by them in campaigning for their rights, violence did break out sometimes, and I can't recall reading if it was caused by the group or just because the group was present.
International Confederation of Wizards - Same as Wizengamot and Ministry; I'm sure they've made their share of bad decisions as well.
The Headless Hunt - They're a fine organisation in their own right, but they're... really selective and they won't take Sir Nick even though he's only got a teeny tiny bit of skin there. That's not very nice.
Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards - The only thing I remember having read about this group is their campaigning to oppose the Ministry on Halloween regulations. Which I can understand, but I don't know what they've done otherwise and it's possible that some of the 'greater freedoms' they could be campaigning for aren't really... good for everyone.

Slug Club - I don't know much about them but... It was a group of Horace Slughorn's favourites, right?
The Knights of Walpurgis - While their initial intentions were fair and good, i.e. protecting wizards from persecution, their eventual supposed turn into bitterness and the idea that they are the predecessors of the Death Eaters in cleansing the Wizarding World of Muggleborns is... well bad. So I don't know how to classify this, as I don't remember if what I read about them was based in rumour or in fact.

Anna studied the list for a moment, already mentally categorizing some of the organizations. She made a face as she read about the Headless Hunt. Ewww. Shrugging, she picked up her quill, dabbed it in ink, then got ready to write. She glanced over at the professor, who was talking with a Hufflepuff student. Professor Truebridge seemed...upset?...irritated?...not himself. Then again, she really couldn't blame him. This flood pretty much had everyone under the weather.

Plymouth stared hard at the list. Ugh. This was how he felt in Arithmancy when the Pretty Shack asked them to calculate. At least he was staring at his parchment and not Cela anymore.

Isabella stopped at the point where there was an organisation for Squibs. Suddenly she felt sad. she knew how it is for squibs with her father and brother being the same. but she shook that thought out of her mmind and said to herself
"your dad and your brother happy living like a muggle and they are doing extremely well in their lives so stop worrying about them" and she obviously put the organisation of squibs in the good list.

Isabella didnt know much about the Orders which she put them in the neutral list so she thought it would be best to place them there for time being and as for the campaign for greater freedom of the wizards is concerened Bella thought,"i think wizards are given enough freedom. i dont think there will be need for any more organisations which will look after the freedom of the Wizards. and moreover you have many other organisations to check every wizard's welfare."
as she finished with her list she laid back on her chair and looked around to see if she could catch any of her friends eye.

Bella was searching for her friends and then saw her friend Linda sitting right in front of her in the next row. Linda was busy writing down her own list of good, bad and neutral lists of organisation. Looking at Linda write so fast Bella smiled.

Ugh. The problem with assignments like this was that she'd been brought up with a slightly different view of things. 'Good' was not synonymous with right and 'Bad' was not synonymous with wrong. She figured that the commonly held view was probably closest to the answer the Professor was looking for, even if had said there were no wrong answers. Cela figured that sorting the organisations, groups and societies out based on what they were trying to achieve would be the best way to figure out which category they'd fit under. After all, some groups had lost sight of their original lofty goals and ended up as something completely different.

Mostly Celandine ended up placing activist groups under 'good', after all their original intention had been to bring about positive change, right? She chewed on her quill a little as she thought about this and finally finished up her list, not bothering with adding explanations since she figured she'd do that if Professor Truebridge or anyone asked her directly.

She blinked a few times as she heard a couple of first year Ravenclaws chatting and shook her head at them slightly, a friendly little smile on her face as she held her finger up to her lips, indicating they shouldn't talk in class.

Professor Truebridge hadn't given then permission to talk and he usually stated pretty clearly if he wanted them to discuss things, and he was pretty easy going most of the time but he seemed a little out of sorts today.

Giving a small sigh, Lyra grabbed her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment ,a quill and ink. She dipped the quill in the ink and bit on the end of the feather, thinking. She read the list and started to place them in to groups.
