An old, dusty room has been converted to serve as gallery of sorts. As you enter, the aroma of parchment both ancient and fresh beckons you inside. On the side of the room opposite the door, broad windows overlook the grounds, framed with heavy velvet curtains that tend to change colour at random due to a decorating accident. Professor Truebridge likes the unpredictability of the curtains, which also like to draw themselves open or closed on occasion. He thinks the curtains are just like him; basically boring until you spend a moment examining them.
In front of the curtains, facing the window is a long faded green leather couch; precisely the right enough for Truebridge to stretch out on for a nap. To the left of the window is a display of ancient looking devices… A remarkably intact looking Egyptian wand, a dragon-sized harness and is that perhaps an early sneakoscope? Have a closer look; there is sure to be something to catch your fancy.
To the right of the window a complete set of chocolate frog cards is proudly on display, pressed between two sheets of glass and suspended at precisely the right height for viewing.
The walls are completely covered in portraits, most of them empty; some of them torn; all of them old. A low bookshelf runs the length of one wall, crammed full of old books and rolls of parchments. Perhaps there is some sort of order to the apparent chaos contained therein; though you’d have to ask Truebridge if you wanted to find anything specific.
Along the other wall, several desks are arranged, each with ink and quills provided; some with books or crumbling scraps of parchment arranged carefully on top. Haphazardly, almost as if Truebridge had merely used any blank piece of wall (he had), his favourites of the student submitted homework from the previous term was stuck here and there.
The floor is covered in a thick and soft carpet; quite perfect to sit on with a book in hand and big enough for an entire class to relax on.

"Might be the only time a genuine Seer makes the offer, but I was teasing," he closed his fingers around her fingers and gave them a squeeze. She could insist as much as she wanted that she preferred to avoid other people and stay with him, but Cela simply wasn't the antisocial loner type. She managed to make even solitary tasks like doing homework into social outings.
"I won't say no to your company. Maybe that makes me selfish." He puzzled over that thought. Plymouth was likable, and he was well-liked. Cope imagined that a great many students would feel that Plymouth had been wronged (and he had), and that Cope was to blame (and he was). It was hard enough living with himself without seeing recrimination on others' faces.

“I think you like teasing me far too much.” Celandine poked her tongue out at him and picked up his other hand so that she was now cradling both of his in hers.
“Or maybe… it makes you someone nice enough to spend time with me when I’m not the best company.” She suggested, examining his hands and gently running her fingers along his palm. After a moment or two she blushed, took her hands away and stared at the curtains again.

"I like making you smile," Copernicus clarified, lifting his hands to stare at them in complete puzzlement. Nope, they were still just hands, so why had she had such an interesting reaction to them?
"Cel. You're always good company. Why... don't you tell me what my hands said to you?"

Celandine blushed even more and looked around the room as if she were checking it hadn't suddenly sprouted ears. "Nothing I didn't know already." She murmured finally, giving him a look.

"My..." He laughed with complete shock and examined his hands with renewed interest. "Would you tell me what they tell you? I hate for you to be further along than I am in knowing what's going to happen."
Copernicus lowered his hands and glanced around the room too. "What are we looking for? You think anyone takes an interest in us aside from me and you?"

Having no interest in Divination left Copernicus more than a little confused about what exactly his hands had to say about all THAT, and it didn't seem like Cela was ready to share that yet. What was obvious to him, however, was that Celandine Toussaint was in desperate need of kissing. Clearly.
"Tell me later, maybe?" Copernicus lifted the hands that said so much to cup her jaw.

This was too confusing. She could spend hours on end with Copernicus and actually managed to forget about the whole thing with Plym and how much she'd hurt him. As soon as she remembered she felt bad about forgetting in the first place. It was kind of hard to stay away though.
"I'll tell you later." She agreed in a faint murmur.

"I think we've been in here far too long for propriety. What would Hopton say?" He laughed again, although it came out only as a wheezy puff of air. She completely unnerved him. Completely.
Copernicus leaned forward to give her a light kiss, but he brought his thumb up to cross her lips, the tip settling against the cupid's bow of her upper lip. He kissed his thumb instead.

"I... haven't even told Daffy about Plym yet." Celandine answered thoughtfully. Would Daphne even understand? Cela didn't know, she was friends with Plym too... right?
Celandine closed her eyes at the touch on her lips and let out a little sigh. "I do have an awful lot of homework to do." She ventured in a tone that made it clear she'd much prefer to stay right where she was. "I'm... glad you liked your birthday gift." She added before gently kissing his thumb and pulling away.

"I'll get you your Christmas gift. Somehow, I will."

"I'll owl you," Copernicus agreed, but he wasn't pleased with that option. It was so much better to give gifts in person, to see her reaction.
"Plymouth..." Hmm. Was there really a good spin to put on this? "He is hurt, but he doesn't stay down for long. I hope he'll be himself again soon. We just have to give him the time and space to let it happen."

Whatever he'd said, and he wracked his brain to remember, had been wrong. Things had been so lovely for a little while, and then he'd ruined it with his... whateverness. Kettleburn-qualities.

Following Annie inside and watching her eye up the harness, Ethan made a 'go ahead' motion with his free hand, the other still clasped the book she'd given him. He headed over to a chair and picked up his jacket, just holding it for a moment before turning around and silently holding it up for Annie to see. Not that he needed her approval or anything, but she was a good friend and she'd be honest about it surely.

"Is that Cale Newell?" Bunbunz tipped her head slightly and let out just a little giggle at the rabbit with tears on its face. "I always thought his hair was real. I mean, I just assumed he had good shampoo or something...." Interesting. So it was really all rabbit hair plugs? Tsk tsk. Did Anna know that?

Oh good, it sounded like Zan wasn't a fan of Masterson's either. HA. Stupid glorified gardener. He grew a bit of bamboo and thought he was a genius. Well. She'd sunk his lily boat, hadn't she? "Masterson interrupted my class and we were out on the victoria amazonica plants, testing them for durability, you know, and I sunk his lily pad so he vanished half a dozen of mine.... very unprofessional of him. I should have a word with Bontecou about that man."
She frowned too and let Ethan take her hand, staring down at his hand as well, the unscarred one. "Yeah there were two students in there and...me...but we all got out alright. I had some gillyweed." Not that she'd used it, of course, because the shoes had been a priority. "And I saved your..the...this, um, jacket, see, so, I'm okay." She reassured herself of this and gave Ethan's hand a squeeze. As long as she didn't think about all the pretty clothes she'd lost and the poor pink teapot and the fact that her cat was missing, maybe she really would be okay.
